23 degrees Celsius
10 November 2012 Guangdong, China Somewhere in a modest company, employees had already begun checking out, as office hours were about to end at 5PM. A long-haired brunette in a Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. was leaning over the office cubicle to beckon for her colleague's attention. The man sitting across her was wearing an oldschool pair of glasses; Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , implying a smart Alec sort of image. "Are you going to Susan's bachelor party tomorrow?" The male was just done shutting down his Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. . He glanced at the young woman without so much as a chin-up. "Singles Mingle?" He quoted the slogan to the invitation card everyone received, with a heavily teasing tone. It elicited the reaction intended. With her short laughter dying down, she nodded, "At least it's catchy! I told her I'm going, since I heard Steven is going," she sighed, "So dreamy. Such a surprise he is single!" "If he's going, I'm probably going to have a really hard time pic- finding a girl. Fierce competition, eh, Chen?" The smart Alec stood as well now, looking at the third person who had been present throughout the conversation. This third wheel was at the end of the row of cubicles. His little space was adjacent to both the two talking man and woman. The occupant was still reviewing a document about possible renovation for the bathroom on the third floor. Apparently one of the managers slipped inside and blamed that its tiles needed to be changed. The man had a minimalist sense of fashion, what with his Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. and non-outstanding face. Unlike smart Alec, he had pristine vision, so there was no need for glasses. As such, his shadowy bags seemed to pop for attention. He looked like he had poor sleep, to anyone. "Mmm," came his non-committal answer. Smart Alec propped his elbow on the fencing that separated everyone when they're sitting and peered down. "Are you even going to go?" "Oh come on, you know Chen! He'd rather go home and try to sleep," the female chirped. There was a hint of acquaintanceship and exasperation. Smart Alec nodded, leaned backwards and away, then half-heartedly slapped the fencing a little, just enough to grab Chen's full attention. "Go get some rest, man. Your Prada bags are getting bigger each day," he gestured to his own eyebags, which were barely visible compared to the quiet man's. "Aha, thanks. You guys leaving?" "Well, I am! Gotta go shopping for a new dress. Tomorrow is no joke!" The woman slung her Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. over a shoulder. "You coming, William?" "Eyup. See you, Chen," William threw one last glance at the third guy, who waved and smiled at them both. "Bye, guys. Have fun tomorrow!" "Get some sleep!!" He tossed and turned in bed. The familiar sound of nightlife outside was really faint, and if he had to be honest, Chen would say it was barely a bother, except he really wanted to sleep. Had been wanting to, for ... pretty much for years now. It was a mystery why it happened. It wasn't as if he relocated himself to a new environment - he had been living here in Coco Park Apartments since he was five! A whooping twenty years! Yet somewhere in his late teenhood, he began to have difficulties in sleeping. First it started with curfews pushed back, but he surmised it as a "teen thing" since most of his classmates were doing the same thing. It became a crutch when he couldn't sleep more than five hours in university. He had worried about moving around the room to do productive things, since lying still was insanely harder than one imagined, for fear of annoying his roommate. Luckily his roomie was a Singaporean who was an army conscript before that, and sleeping no more than four hours was a norm, so the other guy didn't seem to be bothered. But an extended period of not sleeping was doing things to his head. For one, it lowered his tolerance for bullshit (which was actually good for him, being a reformed pushover). The other thing was his creativity. Being sleep-deprived, he just couldn't tap into his muse and get the creativity juices flowing. It was a torment for him, as he enjoyed writing. Used to. Now writing was just asking for a heavy session of existential crisis that he would rather not touch with a ten-foot pole, thanks. He tried everything, too. Therapists, doctors, specialists who have prescribed him a diet regime, exercises both softcore and strenuous ... hell, he even tried the drug stores for serotonin pills. Zero results. He hadn't tried paying a professional to knock him out though, but he was just lethargic, not lunatic. "Maybe I should," he snarked as he eyeballed the nightstand. "Oh, shit. I hate it when they talk out loud suddenly!" Someone exclaimed from the foot of his bed, causing Chen to jerk up from his foetal posture because CHEN LIVED ALONE, FUCK YOU. The Chinese man came face to face with another dude - some kind of blonde with a lean figure - who was standing naked (what?!), one knee on the corner of his Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. . They gawked at each other. What. The. Fuck?
23 degrees Celsius
Pink nipples, were his first thought as his eyes darted a little downwards. Pink nipples protuding on a hard chest and- is that a dick? "Oh god that's a huge dick," his throat managed to squeeze out. Not in an admiring tone, but just ... blunt statement at its finest. "Why, thank you," the stranger seemed to puff up his chest in pride before hitching his breath. "Wait, what? You can see me?" Chen screamed as the blonde inched closer with widened eyes because the sight was increasingly eerie. And he was still naked! Naked-er, if he- "Just what the hell are you doing in here?! Who the fuck are you?!" The Chinese threw his thick blanket at the other man and grabbed his pillow in a clenched hold, swinging it like a madman at the intruder. The nudist jerked back in caution while holding his hands up. "Whoaaa! Easy there, buddy!" "Get out now!" Dark eyes blinked rapidly before he broke into a grin. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, the stranger walked backwards and made little gestures with his palms towards the frightened Asian as if to pacify him ... then walked straight through the door, disappearing without a trace. Chen felt his blood curdle in his veins; his back had broken out in cold sweat. Despite everything, he didn't and couldn't take his eyes away from the door, for fear of the same face emerging from it the same way it exited the room. He waited with a pounding heart and held his breath, but the man never showed up even after an overhauled two minutes. He was starting to wonder if it was a dream ... well, nightmare ... Deflating in relief, he relaxed himself with the calmness of a cat on hot bricks and leaned down to retrieve his disposed blanket. As he settled back into bed, Chen missed the man from earlier underneath the bedframe, who was smirking as he lied down on his side on the floor, right below the still-scared Chinese.
