Name: Kanen [[Meaning- One who is a leader]]

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Gay

Position: Seke

Personality: Kanen is kind and mellow tempered. He does not like allowing situations to knock him off his center and he always looks at both sides of the coin before making a solid judgment. Due to his mellow nature and the wise advice he tends to give, despite his young age, Kanen's people look to him to lead whenever his father is away from their tribe. Though Kanen does have quite a fierce temper when provoked, he is by far one of the most patient and lenient of his tribe members.

Bio: Growing up inside his tribe, Kanen learned the art of survival from very early on. His world was one of wilderness and freedom. Never was he confined inside a structure of any sort unless it was time to sleep. For hours, the young boy would wander his tribe's lands with others his age. There was never a dull moment and the more their young eyes saw, the more their hearts learned to love the world they had been born into. In due time, they grew to be fine tribe members and warriors, protecting their family and keeping their land as untouched and as pure as it had always been in their eyes. Though there had never been a terrible threat to their home before, Kanen and his friends vowed to protect their home until the last breath left their bodies.

Likes: Animals of all shapes and sizes, the ocean and its majestic nature, the sound of the island life around him, sunsets and sunrises, peace and tranquility.

Dislikes: Disorder, being unable to fix a situation, dishonesty, the thought of mindless destruction and the idea of being taken away from his home.

Unique attributes: From before he could walk, Kanen has always had this unique attachment to animals. He seems to understand them better than most and they seem to understand him. As such, he shares a special bond with the animals that live alongside him and through him, his tribe has been able to gain a fragment of that bond with the animals for themselves.

Extras: Like many in his tribe, Kanen has most of his body tattooed in a manner on known to his tribe. The number of marks on him show his rank inside his tribe as well as holding a secret meaning only known by his people.

For years Kanen had been living with his tribe on an island that many could say had very rarely ever been touched by the outside world. His land, no matter if it was surrounded on all sides by the vast ocean, was his paradise. He loved it with his whole essence and from the moment he could pick up a weapon and pull his weight in the tribe, he had vowed to keep it safe. And safe it had remained for many seasons, never had there been a disturbance in it that required his immediate attention or that of his father's. Their island home had remained tranquil and peaceful....until today....when things had apparently taking an interesting turn with the arrival of individuals that seemed to come from the sea itself on a small vessel of some sort.

Crouched quietly on the thick branch of one of a large Dillenia trees, Kanen peered silently down through the leaves at the north beach of his home and the people that were sprawled out around the sand. Golden amber eyes narrowed slowly as he tightened the hold he had on the dagger in his left hand. Unease flooded through him but Kanen willed himself to keep a calm mind. His father was currently on the opposite side of the island dealing with a small problem in the tribe, as such, Kanen was leading this current patrol of their lands. He had not thought they would have found anything different from any other day, but it would seem that he had been quite wrong.

"Kanen.....who are they? And how did they get here? What do they want?" the sound of a childhood voice vibrated out quietly into the air from the man perched next to him on the thick branch. His long golden hair was braided back away from his face and his pale blue eyes shone with obvious misgivings as he kept them locked onto the intruders.

"I do not know, Masou....but we need to be careful" Kanen replied just as silently. Glancing briefly behind them at the group of 5 that had joined him and his childhood friend on their patrol, Kanen raised his hand briefly and with a swift gesture he signaled for one of their archers to raise a bow and fire a warning arrow towards where the intruders were laying. He did not want to kill one of them, at least not unless there was no choice. For now, he just wanted to inform them that they were not alone and that they were not exactly welcomed.

As soon as the arrow sank into the sand a few inches away from one of the men on the beach, Kanen gestured for his group to follow him as they carefully made their way down the tree and approached the beach through the cover of the shadows the island trees provided them. Nodding at Masou when they had arrived at the edge of the tree line, still remaining hidden in shadows, Kanen didn't bat a lash when his friend raised his voice to call out in a serious and icy tone of voice:

"Who are you?! Why are you on our lands?!"

Knowing that their own unique language might not have been understood by their "visitors", so to speak, Kanen waited to see what reaction the strangers would have. Should it be an aggressive one, he would not hesitate to give the signal to attack. For now, however, he was more curious than anything else.

Akio was relieved that he survived the sinking boat, but landing on an unknown island wasn't something good either. There might be savages or no human at all. And more than sure, it would last a lot till someone would come to their rescue. His belongings and phone were in the sea, lost forever. Practically he was all alone, except thous sail-men that weren't so friendly from the looks that they had.

Sitting on the sand he was looking at the sea wondering if this was his end. Dyeing on an island, away from his friends and family. Just went he wanted to rest a little bit longer an arrow flew right near him sinking in the warm sand. His heart jumped and turned his face behind him, looking at the woods.

He jumped up getting a few steps behind, feeling his heart racing in fear. There were savages on this island and they would end up being their meal. That was really his end. Keeping himself near the others, but in the front line so to say, he was a little confused when the person from the shadows started speaking, not understanding what he was saying. Where they threatening them? Where they getting ready to kill them? All thous thoughts rushed in his head like a roller-coaster.

"Don't harm us ... please. We .... Our ship was caught in a storm and had sink. We just got here by the sea waves. We mean no harm" he said instantly, keeping his hands up in defense, hoping that the others would understand what he was saying.

Watching the strangers from where he stood calmly beside Masou, Kanen's cool amber gaze swept from one face to the other and back again. These people didn't seem to mean any harm but he knew that it was not wise to judge too quickly a situation. He had barely just laid eyes on them and though they appeared to act like nothing more than scared little rabbits, he knew things could change dramatically in a blink of an eye. While Kanen's didn't want to create any pointless bloodshed, he wasn't going to allow danger to fall upon his lands or his tribe. He was the son of their Chief for a reason and now was the time to put all his father had taught him into action. Both in calming those of the tribe that were with him and the terrified strangers that stared at them as if they were about to be eaten or dismembered.....something he couldn't think wasn't extremely far off if the strangers showed any signs of aggression.

Inhaling deeply, Kanen rested a gentle hand on Masou's shoulder for a brief moment before stepping forward in front of his patrol. It was an obvious sign to show these strangers who was in charge at the moment. Though Kanen didn't brandish his weapon like the rest in his group of tribes men, by the way he carried him and how he simply looked at the intruders, it was obvious he was not someone to be trifled with.

Speaking a language these intruders would be able to understand, would be difficult. For as long as he could remember, Kanen and his people had only spoken the language native to this island. Yet he knew that nothing would come of it if he couldn't make these strange people understand what was being said to them. Thankfully, there was a small ray of hope. Though these were the first living strangers to set foot on his lands, they weren't the first who spoke an odd language. There had been strange books of sorts that has often been found washed ashore throughout the years and Kanen, being the curious little boy he had once been, has been all to eager to learn from them. He might not have a full grasp in the language he heard whispered between these strangers in front of him, however, he did like to think that he knew the basics and could defend himself.

"You do not belong here. These are our lands, intruders are not welcome here" He said calmly after a moment of silence. His tone was almost soothing and cool yet it held the obvious accent of his native tongue. It was obvious that he wasn't an expert at this odd language but he knew enough.

"Outsiders will only bring a stain to our people" he added after a moment, eyes never leaving the strange group in front of him even as Masou stepped forward to flank him once more and his tribe members soon followed that gesture.

The other men in the group behind him started to mumble all sort of things. Some of them started to say their prays, being to afraid that they will die. Other were mesmerize bey this people, seeing on their faces that they were thinking of unknown riches. Akio sigh looking back in surprise at the person that stood in front of the group.

"You do not belong here. These are our lands, intruders are not welcome here"

"You speak English ..." he said without realizing out loud. He wasn't the only one surprised that that man knew English. It was odd to see some island men and the leader, that's what Akio thought, speaking their language, but it was a good thing. That way they could understand.

"I told you ... We didn't came here because we wanted. We just landed here. We mean no harm" , he added hopping that the man would understand him. He didn't want any trouble, not to mention die or something.

"Outsiders will only bring a stain to our people"

The men behind him started to mumble between them and he could only understand a few things, something about the fact that they should try and negotiate with the island men. "Are you stupid? They can understand you. Stop fooling around if you don't want to end up being fish food" he said over his shoulder. Sighing, he turned his gaze to the man in front of him.

"As I told you ... We don't want to do anything to you or your people", he said to the man behind his guard, knowing that that man was more understandable.

Listening now to the words the one dark haired stranger who had been the first to openly plead with them, Kanen titled his head to one side silently as he quietly studied the man in front of him. It would be a lie to say that he didn't feel some sort of pity about the situation these strangers found themselves in. He couldn't begin to imagine how frightened they must have been in finding themselves in an unwelcoming land after this ordeal they had been forced to go through. However, Kanen knew it would not be wise to trust what was being said to him to quickly. Some of these men had an uneasily chill going down his back and he'd rather not ignore that. It would be better to thread carefully before any heavy judgements could be made.

"We should just kill them and get it over with. The more time they spend on our lands the more damage these outsiders will cause our people" Masou murmured in their native tongue from where he stood at Kanen's shoulder. His blue eyes showed nothing but distrust and dislike as he glared at the outsiders.

"That is not the way of our people, Masou, you know that. I will inform my father that we have some unwanted guests and let him handle the situation as best he thinks.....for now, we will take them back to the village" Kanen replied calmly before shifting his gaze of the raven haired stranger and to the blue skies high above them.

For just a moment, his eyes seemed to be searching for something before Kanen took a deep breath and released it in the sound of a piercing whistle. As the sound gradually faded out, there was nothing but silence from his tribe members until the all to familiar loud screech was heard from up above them. Flying across the glare of the sun, the silhouette of an avian slowly took form, it's large wings guiding it calmly through the skies. Letting out another whistle, this one a little lower in level, Kanen watched the silhouette take a sharp turn towards them before it neatly folded its wings and began to dive.

It didn't take long for the features of a golden hawk were put more clearly in display as the large bird approached. With its talons outstretched before it, the avian slowed its decent with a few flaps of those massive wings while Kanen calmly stretched out an arm for the bird to find purchase on. It took but a moment for those talons to securely latch onto his limb, however they didn't dig in deeply, instead they only lightly grasped his skin just enough for the bird to find the perfect balance with a few extra flaps of its wings. Once it was comfortable enough, the hawk neatly folded its wings and looked up at the amber eyes of the man who it had known since before leaving the nest.

Ahun, find father. Let him know that he is needed at the village, make sure he makes haste" Kanen murmured quietly to the bird. Bobbing its head in a sharp motion, almost as it were nodding, the hawk spread its wings once more and with a firm flap, it took off into the skies for the second time.

Watching his old friend leave, Kanen signaled for his tribe men to circle the wary group of outsiders, securing them strictly in the middle of their somewhat tight circle. Looking at the man who had been speaking to him, Kanen softly said "I will be taking you to my tribe. It is unfortunate what has happened to you, but you remain on our lands against our will. I will take you to my father and he will decide what is best to do. For now, I suggest you do not struggle and follow our lead. Are we clear?".

Akio watched closely the man in front of him. They really didn't had a clue about the outside world. Well, neither did he about this island. It was a pain in the ass not understanding what they were speaking. He could easily tell that the one beside the man to whom he addressed before didn't like them and wanted them dead. He couldn't blame him though. They were a bunch of strangers who spoke a strange language and looked awful. Even he would think nothing good would happen if they were to be speared.

The the golden-hair man made thous strange sounds everybody went silent. Even the ones behind Akio did the same, tilting their head up to the sky like the man did before them. In just a second they saw a bird with very big wings. Akio was amazed. He never seen a bird like that. What could it be? he was asking himself keeping his eyes on it till it landed to the man's hand in front of him.

Again there was an exchange of words that he didn't understand but which he find it amazing. That guy can speak with animals? he was even more amazed. Where did they land? What year it was? It was like they were wrapped up in a magical place where they didn't fit at all. When the bird flew away he looked after it until the ones behind him started to take out any weapon they had, most of them sticks, starting to get closer. He then looked around them with narrowing eyes, understanding what was happening. They were taking them captive. "Hold your horses or you're gonna die sooner than needed" he said over his shoulder to the others.

He then looked at the man in front of him, which started to speak in English so that they can understand. It was exactly as he thought. He breath in deep trying to calm his nerve. Putting up a fight with them wasn't a possibility. They would end up dead in a second. Wisely was to do as they were told and maybe survive a little longer, maybe for good.

"Yes we are" he said in a firm voice keeping his eyes on the golden-hair man, biting his lower lip on the inside.

"Very well. Then please follow us" Kanen replied with a small nod before turning his attention on the members of his tribe that looked at the outsiders with obvious disgust. "No harm will come to these strangers until my father has deemed otherwise. As of now, we are going to merely herd them to the others. Keep weapons and hands away from them unless a sense of danger arises. Understood?" he questioned his tribe members, getting somewhat reluctant yet at the same time, firm nods of agreement. Flickering his eyes once more to the dark haired stranger, Kanen turned his back on the group and began to walk back into the forest from where he and his group had appeared from. With one more hateful stare at the strangers, Masou fell into step with Kanen, keeping his spear safely at his side as he walked.

"Are you sure that this is the smart thing to do? They could be lying and waiting for the perfect chance to attack, Kanen" Masou mumbled towards his childhood friend even as said man exhaled a heavy breath and cast him a somewhat exasperated look.

"If they are, we will deal with them. For now they haven't shown any signs of aggression and I'm not one to make foul assumptions of people. Whether they're outsiders or not" the golden haired Heir responded, trying ease the worries plaguing the mind of his highly cautious best fried.

As they walked further into the forest, the world around them seemed to come alive with the sounds of wildlife living amongst the branches of the tall trees and through the thick vegetation surrounding them. Small black and white monkeys peered down at the group from their safe perches on tree branches while red furred squirrels scurried to get out of the way. Multiple kinds of insects fluttered this way and that while in the distance a distinct yowl of a large wild cat echoed in the air around them.

Paying no mind to most of the commotion, Kanen and his tribe members continued to walk calmed through the brush. Leaping over fallen logs, urging their captives to do the same, and continuing their trek back home.

Chuckling when a weight fell upon his shoulder, Kanen looked at his right shoulder curiously to spot a pair of small black eyes staring back at him with what could only be described as energetic nature. A small hand grasped his hair as the Capuchin monkey stabilized her balance on Kanen and turned her head to look back at the strangers in the middle of faces it was familiar with already. For a moment, those black eyes landed on the dark haired stranger that had been doing most of the talking before the monkey let out a small chatter sort of sound and leapt off Kanen to make its way to the stranger.

Watching the monkey plop onto the stranger's shoulder, Kanen raised a surprised brow as he and his troop came to a stop, all watching the small creature with various levels or confusion and shock. "It seems Una likes you. That is odd....she rarely takes a liking to strangers" Kanen mussed absentmindedly as the Capuchin made quick work of starting to look through the stranger's hair.

With a simple nod Akio started walking behind the men, being fallowed by the rest of the ship crew which weren't so pleased with how the worriers were acting around them. Akio narrowed his eyes as the golden-haired man started speaking with the one near him. It was strange to see him so close to the other. I wonder what they are saying.

As they got in the jungle, Akio was caught out of guard of the beautiful that surrounded them. The nature was so full of life and colorful that he never saw in his entire life. Living in a city it was quite hard to see so much nature in one place. All kinds of sounds were around them, making chills run down his spine. The others behind him were looking all around them, others with curiosity others with fright.

Breathing deep in and out because of the long walk and all the obstacles that were on the way, he laugh when a monkey dropped on the man's shoulder. She was quite beautiful and unique. Not like the ones he had saw at the zoo and so on. This was really sweet. Seeing that the animal turned and look directly to him, he stopped laughing and stopped walking when she jumped on him, crawling her way to his shoulder. It was tickling and made him laugh.

"It seems Una likes you. That is odd....she rarely takes a liking to strangers"

He looked at the man in surprised and then turned his eyes at the little monkey that started to look in his hair, for something to eat he presumed. "She is cute" he said smiling at the little animal. "I like her to" he added stroking the animal's back gently.

Feeling the tip of his lips twitch up just a hint when he heard the outsider's response, Kanen turned his amused gaze to Masou who had let out a huff of air when another, smaller Capuchin dropped onto his shoulder. This one distinctly kept its place on the shoulder of his best friend even as it curiously looked around at the new faces. Raiz was Masou's companion for sure, the pair shared the same cautious nature even though Raiz was much younger by even monkey years. Heck, the creature had only just began to wander around on his own the last year, but it truly wasn't surprising that he was quite independent despite his age. If he was determined to be Masou's companion, he would have to be. Besides, Una had raised her young son properly, there was nothing to worry about.

"You should keep her with you....Perhaps my father will see it as a sign to not lay down a much too harsh punishment for your presence here. Una belongs to him, after all" Kanen replied thoughtfully as he turned his back on the stranger and the monkey that now sat comfortably on his shoulder. It would be interesting to see what his father would think when they arrived with his favorite companion perched on the shoulder of a strange outsider.

Gesturing for the group to begin walking again, Kanen kept a steady pace through a rather treacherous mountain path until finally voices could be heard a short distance away. It was obvious by the sound alone, that they were not speaking any other language but that of their native tongue. Pushing a thick batch of foliage out of the way, Kanen felt his shoulders drop a bit in relief when finally his tribe came into view, all gathered in the center of their village as they waited for the patrol's arrival.

It was obvious they all knew of the newcomers, if not by sheer guess then by the words of Kanen's father who stood at the center of his tribe with a somewhat fierce frown on his face. Arms crossed tightly over his tattooed chest, the man looked terrifying with his icy blue glare, Amber colored hair weaved in a thick braid down his back and muscles bulging underneath darkly tanned skin. Beside him, a woman stood calmly. Her own lean yet muscled appearance held its own sort of intimidation but it was countered by the gentle look of her golden eyes.

"Come" Kanen murmured to his group, quietly leading them towards their gathered tribe with a bit of apprehension in his heart. By the look on his father, he knew that the older man was not pleased.

He looked at the other monkey that fell on the guard shoulder which was younger than the one on his back. Could it be still a baby? Akio could only smile at the image of that little thing. There were so many beautiful things here that he just couldn't imagine.

"You should keep her with you....Perhaps my father will see it as a sign to not lay down a much too harsh punishment for your presence here. Una belongs to him, after all"

His fathers? I don't think he would think the same way as you are, he thought looking at Uni which was continuing to look in his hair messing it around even more. Maybe they had a possibility of survival no matter how small it was. The golden-hair man wasn't that bad, not as his guardian which was looking at him with narrowing eyes like wanting to see in his inner soul. It was scary.

The walked further, fallowing the men along the path that they made for them, widening his eyes when they arrived in the village. The smile never left Akio's face but it immediately disappeared when he saw the old man in the middle of the crowed with that look on his face that could make your blood turn to ice and kill you in a second. If that was his dad he was nothing like the golden-hair one.

Akio's mouth felt dry all of a sudden not being able to say nothing more. His heart was starting to race in fear in his chest, knowing that being a stranger this guys wouldn't be to trustful in them. How could he made them see him or the rest different than a bunch of trouble in their village?

Breathing deep in and out, trying to calm himself and keeping his face neutral, he fallowed the golden-hair man further, getting closer to his father. He than stopped ten steps away from the man looking at him with nervousness, biting his lower lip, his hand resting on Una which had stopped to play in his hair. No ... that was calming me ... he protested in his mind closing his eyes for a few seconds then opening them again, waiting for someone to say something.

Since non of them were saying a word, not even in their twisted language he thought he should say something. That was polite right? So he let down the monkey turning his gaze to the man that wasn't so friendly. "Good day .... Sorry if we cause trouble to you by being here" he said slowly hopping that the man would understand.

Locking eyes with his father, Kanen walked forward with a confident air until he was just a few inches away from his father. It seemed that was all it took for the older man's fierce expression to melt into a small affectionate smile as he leaned forward to rest his forehead against his slightly shorter son. There was a small exchange of words between them, a greeting and a welcome back all in one before Kanen pulled away with an amused little grin as Masou stepped forward to receive the same sort of greeting from his Cheif. It was custom for all those closest to the Chief to receive such a warm welcome. After the greetings has been done, Kanen took his place beside his father while his mother calmly linked her arm through his. At his other side Masou stood strong, feeding a few pieces of berries he pulled out of his pouch to Kaiz.

Whistling a sharp sound, Kanen's father didn't bat a lash as Una left the shoulder of the raven haired stranger and hurried over to climb onto the shoulder she rightfully belonged in. The shoulder of the Chief of this village, the one whose face had once again grown cold and unforgiving and he gazed upon the group that did not belong on his island or among his people.

Narrowing his icy eyes when one of the strangers spoke up, Kanen's father fixed his glare on that man while the scowl on his face only deepened. "Why are you here?" He all but demanded, speaking the language he knew these strangers would probably understand quite easily. By the rough quality of his tone, that came out sounding more like a growl than nothing else, it was clear that he was not pleased.

"They claim to have been brought here by the waves....They did not seem to have any visible vessel with them and they did not seem to be lying.....but I am not sure" Kanen responded quietly to his father's question, eyes looking over the odd group once more.

"We should just get rid of them....at worse they'll bring nothing but death to our people, at best they'll bring more outsiders to our lands" Masou spoke in English for the first time since he had encountered these strangers earlier on.

"Perhaps, but who's to know that. We would be making an unfair judgement and that is not our way, father. We could keep them alive for a few days and see if they truly are a threat to us even if I don't think they are" Kanen argued quite calmly, never once raising his voice.

His eyes never having left the strangers as his son and Masou spoke, Kanen's father finally looked down upon his wife while she flickered her amber eyes up to meet his. There was a silent exchange between them before the Cheif nodded and looked up once more as he parted his lips to speak.

"You will live fore 5 days. You will live separate from us but you will be fed. If you show me signs of threat in any way, I will kill you. My son and Masou will be in charge of all of you. Should you try to do anything to them, I will kill you. If you prove to us you are not here to harm us, then I will allow you to live for as long as you remain here. Do you understand?" He spoke, voice unrelenting and firm.

Akio saw the change in the man's expression towards the two men. So they were close, maybe sons? But right after the man changed again being the angry one examining them. He was feeling uncomfortable being watched like that. When the man asked why they were they he wanted to explain again but the golden-hair one started to explain. Only after the guardian or whatever he was, spoke in English he realized that they knew their language.

The others behind him started to speak between them, making Akio tense. Thous guys wanted to die with all their hearts. Akio didn't realized that he was holding his breath till the old man spoke about their 5 days of living. Great ... not much but great ... wait ... what?! his mind snapped making Akio expression to look at the man in confusion. No ... I don't want to die ... I have to go back home ... my family ... they ... they don't even know I survive, his eyes fell on the ground feeling alone at that moment.

Is this really my fate? Not ending in the sea but being killed by these people?

The others wanted to protest and started speaking all at once but Akio spoke over them with a firm voice. "We understand", the others shut up looking at him with anger, others in disbelieve, and others with no hope left. They were only 10 of the ones that were on the boat. At least they could live and tell the story but was it a good idea? Seeing the look on their faces before, they were greedy men, and most likely they would end up dead somehow. But he had to accept the terms. What other choice did they had?

Inclining his head to one side, Kanen's father turned his eyes on his son and with that, all the previous look of anger vanished so leave room for the clear love he had for the younger male. "They will be under your care then. Should anything happen, report to me at once. I will not have outsiders threatening my family and people" he spoke softly to his heir, still making a conciliatory effort to speak in English so that he was understood by the ones that had been brought to him. He wasn't happy about the situation in the least but he was willing to give these newcomers a try without killing them at once. Like his son, he didn't want to cause bloodshed without there being need for it.

Nodding at his father, Kanen gently distant led his arm from his mother and gave Masou a look when his best friend made to follow him the moment Kanen began to walk towards the outsiders. "Bring the group to where we will be housing them. I want to speak to the boy alone for a moment" he murmured in his native tongue. Already he could see how Masou wanted to protest by the narrowing of his eyes but in front of Kanen's father, the long haired blonde kept his lips sealed and merely gave a sharp nod as his hands curled into fists.

Taking his eyes off his friend after a moment, Kanen walked up to the group with his eyes firmly resting on the dark haired man who has been doing most of the talking. "I would like to speak to you for a moment. Follow me. Masou will bring the rest of your group to where we will provide shelter for the next few days" Kanen said as soon as he had stopped a few feet away from the other man. Gesturing for the younger to follow, Kanen headed back in the direction they had come from when they had been arriving in the village.

Though he did not seem like he was the eldest amongst all the other strangers, the man had been doing most of the speaking for the group and Kanen would like to question him personally before he figured out exactly how to analyze the situation in the next 5 days.

Leading them a bit further into the forest away from the tribe, Kanen finally turned to face the man again. Tilting his head to one side, he asked curiosily "What is your name?"

I am right here you old man, he was saying to himself knowing that the pourpess of him saying so that he could hear because he spoke in english and not in that odd language of their.

Seeing the guardian getting angry because the other asked to speak alone with him. Why him he didnt understand. Maybe because he was the only one speaking with them in the first place.

When the others were asked to fallow the guards they wanted to protest but they did as they were told in the end not protesting. The figure it out it was best for them to do so than to end up dead.

Akio fallowed the other and was getting a little uncomfortable seeing that they were walking away from the villedge heading back to the forest. He almost hi the others back when he stopped so sudden, blinking a few times before he could answer.

"Akio ... What is yours if i may ask" , he said looking at the man and also at his tattos. They were kind of strange, like the whole place but in an unique way.

"My name is Kanen and the blonde male you will often see me with is Masou. I should warn you that it is best you stay out of Masou's way. My friend has no inclination to like outsiders and he won't hesitate from acting rashly if he feels you are doing something you should not be" Kanen introduced himself calmly before adding the last tibit into his statement. As much as he loved and trusted Masou, he was no fool as to think that Masou wouldn't act rashly if he felt that the tribe was in danger. It was just the way Masou was, something that took time to get used to. For these outsiders sake, he hoped that he could be present with every interaction Masou had with them. His friend clearly had no love lost with them.

"I understand that this will be difficult for you....you must miss your home and your family. But you must understand that we can not trust you so easily. This is not a easy world to live in, there are other tribes here that will do what they can to cause danger and because of that my people are cautious. If you teach them that you will not harm us, they will welcome you soon enough. You must have patience" Kanen added after a moment, tone calm and gentle as he tried to make the man understand what he meant by his words.

Glancing up when he heard the familiar lightly screech of Ahun, Kanen smiled lightly when his hawk flapped down from where it had been perched a few trees away. It landed lightly on his shoulder, talons just barely digging into flesh to keep its balance on the man. "The animals seem to have an interest in you....something uncommon to me. They do not tend to like strangers, but I will trust their judgement for now. They do not seem to think ill of you" Kanen put in thoughtfully as Ahun lightly brushed his beak against his cheek before turning its sharp gaze to Akio. It was almost as if the bird was studying him with soft curiosity.

"Tell me, do you or your people have need of anything at the moment? Do you require food or drink?" Kanen asked after a moment, turning his eyes back on Akio with a silent inquiry in them.

"I think the feeling is the same. I don't trust him nor do i like him" he mumbled looking to the side, scratching his neck on the back. He knew from the first moment that that guy didn't like him and he also didn't liked him, so they were kind of even. But Kanen ... Kanen was something else. He was kind.

"I understand that this will be difficult for you....you must miss your home and your family. But you must understand that we can not trust you so easily. "My family probably thinks I'm dead since the boat had sink and no one knows where I am" he said sighing thinking about his family and how probably they were suffering. It was painful to think about it so he wanted to change the subject. "About the people that are here also. I don't know them, but I will try to keep them away from any trouble", he added looking at the man trying to be as honest as possible.

"I find them interesting and unique ... I've never seen something like this before. It's like they are connected with you. It's fascinating. Everything here is fascinating", he said with a smile on his face, relaxing a bit. The tension from before had gone since he started talking with Kanen and he was thankful.

"Tell me, do you or your people have need of anything at the moment? Do you require food or drink?"

"I they they will need some food and water. I am good for now" he said bowing his head as a thanks.

Chuckling softly when Akio said that he didn't like nor trust Masou, Kanen shook his head in mild exasperation. Masou used to be a lot more friendly when they had been children but after losing his parents, his friend had closed himself off exceptionally in a way that had even left Kanen shocked. It couldn't be helped though, he couldn't have imagined the pain Masou must have gone through. Regardless of it all, his friend was a good person and he hoped that Akio would be able to see that soon enough. He just needed to gain a hint of Masou's trust, even if it seemed rather impossible.

"You should not loose faith so quickly. The spirits have not abandoned you. They gave you life when they could have taken it from you. They will return you to your family if that is what they think is best. You should not drown your mind in other thoughts" Kanen mussed kindly enough, eyes sympathetic and soft. He felt sorry for this man, that was true, but that couldn't be helped. It was only natural that he felt pity for a man that had seemed to have lost everything. "Do you're best. I do not want to have to see a waste of life for careless actions" he murmured out a moment later to the words Akio had said about the rest of his group.

Smiling lightly at Akio's comment of the animals, Kanen reached up to stroke the head of the bird he had known for almost half his life. "My family thinks the bond I have with the animals is a gift from the spirits. I do not know. I feel as if they are a part of me, something I cherish deeply. Perhaps you will learn to understand them as I do while you remain with us...You seem to pull them towards you more than the others that came with you" he said pensively as Ahun gave himself a shake and squawk. Something that had an amused laugh slipping out of Kanen.

Nodding at Akio's words, Kanen turned on his heel again and began to walk off once more with a bird on his shoulder and all. "Come, I suppose o should show you where you will find water and food for your people" he called over his shoulder.

"I'm really hopping that" he whispered thinking that it could be possible to get along with everybody. He was a kind guy. He would help if one needed, he would fight, altough he wasn't that strong, but still would try. He wasn't as muscle as the other men from the vilage but he wouldn't give up in a fight. The smile on the others face was quite relaxing him, making him feel like they were old friends and had a small talk, like normal persons. Well he is a normal person ... except for his tattoes and muscles...

"Ever since I was little I felt more comfortable with animals than with humans. I only had a dog, but when I see other animals i just want to know them better and care for them" , he said putting up a small smile feeling a little embaraced. Hearing him laugh was strange, but in a good way, and was looking better than the time when he was serious.

"Come, I suppose o should show you where you will find water and food for your people"

He nodded and fallowed Kanen further, walking one step behind him. "You should smile more offen ... It really looks good on you", he said with his voice down, blushing, watching his steps not to fall down or something.

Glancing behind him surprised at Akio's words that he should smile more, Kanen blinked without knowing what to say for a moment before finally another small smile made an appearance on his face. "I thank you for your words and I also assure you that I smile plenty given the opportunity. I just do not smile when I am around unfamiliar people. I believe your people would call it a 'force of habit'. I would rather get to know the person a bit further before I think to smile freely around them. Trusting people outside my tribe is...difficult......But I will try to look less upset if you like. You must remind me" he said with another soft chuckle to accompany his words even as he continued to walk on through the forest. Anyone else would have gotten lost or disoriented but Kanen seemed to know this whole area like the back of his hand. Which wasn't really surprising.

"The attraction you feel towards the animals, it is quite interesting. Perhaps you'll be able to create a bond with one of them while you are here. It would help the tribe accept you a bit better. We all have an animal or two that we are especially bonded to. I have Ahun, as you can see very clearly. There is also Kisa, you will meet her in just a few moments. She is our tribe's protector and helper. We would have a much harder time without her here" Kanen added a moment after.

Walking a few feet further into the thick vegetation around them, Kanen finally stopped at the base of a massive tree. Tilting his head to look up, his golden eyes spotted the shapes of fruit dangling high above them, way past their reach. Yet it wasn't just fruit peering down at them. A pair of pale green eyes stared at them from the location of a massive branch yet a few feet from where the fruit were. The owner of said eyes laid comfortably on the branch, her long muscled body stretched out with her head resting on crossed paws. It would have almost been impossible to see her with her black fur had you not been looking for her.

Grinning at the sight of the large black panther Kanen had come to love almost like a sister, he gently urged Ahun to fly off his shoulder and to a nearby tree before turning to look at Akio. "Can you climb?" He asked, completely at ease with the entire situation.

"O-Ok" said Akio a little bit confused because his heart started beating faster when the other continued smiling so gently, and talking to him so freely. He liked it that the other was ok with him and was acting so normal. He knew that he wasn't yet accepted in this place but it was a start, right?

"Kira? Protector? What is she a lion?" he asked a little bit nervous of the thought that he will meat a wild animal, not knowing how to react near such things. Normally he only saw wild animals at the zoo, but they were in a cadge, far from the people that were wondering around.

When Kanen stopped he did the same lifting his eyes on the tree widening in surprise when he saw the big cat sitting in it. He felt his heart stopped at the view of the cat, swallowing hard. That was .... clearly i will end up dead in just a second.... it couldn't be that even that thing will like him

"Did it long ago but I can try" he said turning his gaze to Kanen. "Are we really going up there?"

"That is where most of the good fruit is. At the moment, you are not ready for the hunt so you and your people will be provided with fruit to eat as well as what we have available in the village" Kanen replied smoothly even as he turned his gaze off of Akio and looked back to the tree. He examined it briefly before backing up a few measured steps. With the practiced ease of a life time, Kanen didn't waste a moment from breaking out into a light sprint towards the tree. Using his momentum he took two steps up the massive tree trunk before pushing off the trunk and jumping up the grab the lowest hanging branch, easily pulling himself to sit on it calmly.

Looking down at Akio, Kanen tilted his head before saying "Come now, it'll be safer up here than you remaining down there alone. Kisa won't harm you. If you are afraid of her, stay behind me and I will keep her attention away from you. There is no need for you to hesitate". Kanen could read the nervousness in the strange man's eyes but he couldn't really understand why it was there. As far as he could see, there was nothing to be frightened by. There was no danger near them and even if there were, either Ahun or Kisa would have made a sound or move to alert him of the need for caution.

Glancing up at his Panther, Kanen flickered his eyes back down at Akio with a minute frown. Truthfully, if this were the first time the man saw such a large feline in its natural habitat, then he could understand there being a bit of apprehension. However, Kanen had already assured him that Kisa would do him no harm. As long as she wasn't provoked, his friend would make no move to attack. Kanen couldn't be any more sure of that.

"Do you require assistance?" Kanen asked after a moment while he eyed Akio thoughtfully from where he sat on the branch.

"Come now, it'll be safer up here than you remaining down there alone. Kisa won't harm you. If you are afraid of her, stay behind me and I will keep her attention away from you. There is no need for you to hesitate".

Akio looked in silence how the other was climbing up the tree feeling a little uneasy, knowing that he couldn't do the same as Kanen. He didn't had much practice in that matter. Well, he didn't liked much climbing or things like that, not wanted to fall and get killed. And now, the other was asking him to climb in a tree like a freaking monkey.

Come on Akio .... you can do it ... it's not so hard ... just .... just as he did and you'll be up in no time... He was trying to push himself with self motivation but it was hard. It wasn't anymore the panther fear that was getting him, it was the fear of highs. Breathing in and breathing out, but his legs wouldn't move.

"Do you require assistance?"

"I'm fine!" he screamed at the other narrowing his eyes because he was feeling like a total looser. Biting his lower lip and ran and jump on the tree trunk, trying to pull himself up. His legs were slipping because of the tree texture, but he manage to reach the tree branch, pulling himself up on it breathing hard. He needed practice, and a lot. Once was on the branch he looked at Kanen trying to keep his eyes away from the ground.

Watching as the other man seemingly tried to will himself to climb the tree and reach the branch Kanen was on, the tattooed man merely raised a smooth arched brow and waited for Akio to make his move. He wasn't opposed to helping the other man but he wanted to let Akio try and climb on his own first. That was how his father had thought him after all. It was easier to help someone do everything but they wouldn't truly learn unless they tried to complete whatever task on their own. Yes, Kanen knew that this was probably the first time in a long while that Akio did something like this, but as everyone before him, Kanen has confidence that the dark haired outsider would do just fine. Climbing a try wasn't an extremely hard task, all you had to do was remember where you put your footing.

When Akio finally managed to scramble up onto the branch in an admittingly much less graceful sense than Kanen had, the man chuckled and smiled at the other. "Well done....you should have more confidence in yourself. Fear will only hold you back" he commented lightly before murmuring "Follow me". Getting to his feet, Kanen balanced himself easily on the thick, wide branch as he reached for another one just above his head. Truly, pulling himself up the other branch and continuing the climb was enjoyable and entertaining to him. Frankly, Kanen preferred to be climbing trees than walking around plain ground with nothing amusing going on around him.

It didn't take him long to reach the highest branches where the fruit just dangled an arms reach above his head and where the large feline lay sprawled out comfortably on her branch. "Kisa" Kanen greeted the cat when he finally arrived on her branch, his tone heartwarmingly affectionate as the panther released a deep purr sort of sound and stood. Walking forward elegantly with her tail to keep her balanced, the cat shoved her head against his, electing a chuckled from the man as he buried his fingers into her dark fur and rubbed his forehead against her head. Kanen greeted her like that for a few minutes before reluctantly pulling away from his panther to look over to where Akio was.

Honestly, he was pleasantly surprised by the man so far. He was different than what Kanen thought he would be. "Are you well? You may rest up here for a few moments if you need to. We are as high as we need to climb" he said after a moment.

Akio only manage to settle his breathing and heart beats when he saw the other climbing even higher. His legs were starting to crumble just by the thought that he had to go till up there. Biting his lower lip and eyes narrowed, he tried to stand up on the branch without falling and keeping his balance. Not looking down he looked only at the man towards him, wanting to be as brave as him. It was to much for him, but the words from the other kept going in his mind.

Fear will only hold you back

Step by step he tried to do as the other, not looking down of any cause. If he had done that, he would be paralyzed and couldn't move, but he went further. With each branch he was breathing deep, releasing the air from his longs to let another gasp in. His muscles were screaming but he didn't let them beat him. It was a test for him aswell. He had to do this. Not precisely for Kanen but for him.

"Are you well? You may rest up here for a few moments if you need to. We are as high as we need to climb"

He heard the other right above him and looked at him seeing him smiling. His heart skipped a beat in that moment making him shaking a little but grabbed the tree instantly. He needed to focus and not look at him in that way. It was for no good. Breathing deep one more time, he manage to grab a hold of the branch where Kanen was along with the panther and sat down, holding himself by the other small branches near.

"I ... I don't think I can go down from here after" he said between breaths. "It's to much for me", he added closing his eyes for a moment. "I'm afraid of highs", he whispered opening his eyes looking at the other.
