Nodding Daniel left the room grabbing a back and started to pack some long sleeved shirts and hoodies for NIck. Daniel picked his favorite ones as he packed. Once he was done packing clothes for the them he turned back to the blankets and picked some he knew would help them keep warm once the sun had set. It wasn't long before he was done packing them and just waiting for Nick to finish his shower. When the older man was done he wasted no time in taking one himself, more and more excited for them to be on their way.

Nick dressed himself and took the back-packs to tge car, tucking them on the back seat taking a phone call.

 

"Yo ... Sam, we meet at the gas station from sector 5 in half an hour" he said listening to the other on the phone. "I dont care you are in the middle of -something- this is the deal. You have time. If your not there in half an hour we are going further" he said sughing hanging up on him.

 

"Ready?" He asked Daniel before they got in the car and drive to the meeting point.

Daniel followed Nick out to the car glancing towards him as he made the phone call though he laughed softly hearing Nick's side of the conversation. "Sounds like they are having fun." He commented as he slipped into the car and got comfortable in his seat. The whole point of leaving early was the car ride took a few hours. If they had any hopes of having fun today and not just set up their camp just to go to bed then it required they left early that morning.

 

As Nick drove Daniel slipped his hand onto the other's thigh, eyes going to outside the window as they started to make their way to the meeting point that Nick had chosen. "Any ideas for what you want to do once we are there and camp is set up?" Daniel asked as they got closer to the meeting point. He was curious about what Nick might want to do during the trip, of course setting up camp had to be the first priority.

"Well ... first we will set up a fire. Some of us have to search for wood. Than we will go fishing so that we can eat fry something along with the marshmallows" he smiled taking Daniels hand in his.

 

"I'm not very sure what Mark would want to do in the morning, but i know that i will sleep" he added laughing thinking what a morning person Mark was and how he was going to curse his living days for taking them out camping.

Humming softly as he listened to Nick say what they would do when they got to the campsite he nodded, eyes still on the view outside the car window. It wasn't until he felt Nick's hand gently take his that he glanced back towards him, this time he laughed softly and shook his head. "A promise is a promise, I'll make sure you get to sleep in tomorrow." He commented with a small smirk. Daniel didn't care what he would have to do in order to distract Mark and the others if it meant that he was able to let Nick sleep in even if only for a little while.

 

Managing to maneuver his hand in Nick's, Daniel laced their fingers together, running his thumb gently over the back of the older man's hand. It was then another thought struck him a small smirk crossing his face, "You know..." He mused eyes moving back to Nick. "My birthday is in a few months... any idea what you'd like to do for it?" His parents no longer made a big deal out of his birthday, not now that he was eighteen. That meant he was free to do whatever he wanted with whoever he wanted, and this year Daniel wanted to spend it with Nick.

"Two months to be exact ... and its not what i want but what you want" he said kissing the others hand, keeping his eyes on tge road. "Only two more montgs to wait until you'll be 18. Lucky that i didnt end up in prison because of you" he said stopping the car to the meeting point. "Your father would love to see me behind bars. I'm actually surprised that he didnt pull that card yet" he added kissing the other before getting out of the car.

"I'm honestly a little surprised that you remember and know exactly how far away it is." Daniel admitted though the look on his face stated clearly that he couldn't be happier knowing that he did. "Hmm, my age didn't deter you then, and it hasn't now. So prison must not really be that big of a fear for you." He mused with a small smile as they arrived at their meeting point. At the mention of how his father would probably love to see him behind bars Daniel couldn't really argue, even when he was told that Nick was surprised the older man hadn't pulled that yet.

 

Shrugging he slipped out of the car as well, "He's the only one with a problem with it. Well... him and Chris once he gets his memory back. But it won't matter what he thinks soon anyways, not like it ever really did." Daniel admitted. Alright, so two members of his family didn't like Nick or the fact that they were together, as of right now it was really only one until Chris' memory returned. He'd have to cross that bridge when he got there though, knowing his brother would not be happy to hear he wanted to spend his birthday only with Nick.

 

That got him thinking as he started to speak again, "It might be more about what I want. But I want to know what you want to do. I want to spend it with you, anything else at that point is just a bonus."

"Everything else leave ot on me then" he smirk winking at the boy. So if Daniel wish was to spend his birthday with him , he would arrange the perfect day. But he had time to make all the plans for the event. Right now they had other on their mind.

 

"I hate when you push us like this". A voice came from a car distant. That was Mark.

"Dont tell me that wasnt enoigh time" said Nick shortly.

"Of course not. We were just started and you ruined tge moment, continied Mark slapping Nick on his arm. It wasnt very powerful but still.

"I didnt haf my morning sweetness also ao get over it. You'll have plenty of time in the wild" he added making Mark to shut up.

 

"Come on guys... stop the figjting ... i know its to early in the morning and both of you are grumpy but still" startef Sam to calm his boyfriend, holding him by his waist.

"He started it" sai Nick like a small child. Always wanted ti hive the blame on someone else. "Wheres Jack?" He asked.

"On his way. He said to text him the locationd and will meet us there" added Sam.

"Perfect" sigh Nick taking his phone out texting him the location and to Sams phone. "Lets get going or we will end up camping on the road" he said pointing the cars.

"I'll have high standards then." Daniel replied noticing the smirk and wink he received. It was true though, if he was going to leave all of the planning up to Nick the he was going to have rather high standards about how his birthday would end up going. His mind wandered over it and he then realized he would be counting down the days even more than he had before. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted, glancing towards the two men as they approached and laughing softly. Daniel quite clearly understood what Nick had apparently interrupted. Still, he was more interested in getting their butts out and in the woods then he was about Mark and Sam being interrupted.

 

The news that Jack was on his way and would meet them there made Daniel wonder who had was bringing with him even more. He had kind of been hoping to find out now, but it seemed he would be left with no answers until they all arrived at the camp ground. Looking up at Nick as the older man pulled out his phone to text the address he nodded and moved back towards the car. Slipping back into his seat as he watched Sam and Mark do the same.

 

Nick had a point after all, they had to get on the road if they had any hope of having fun today. Once Nick was back in the car he glanced towards him a small smirk crossing his face, "If you think you are going to easily be able to fuck me in the woods you are sorely mistaken. If I wanted that I would have just said lets go for a hike, not a camping trip." He teased. Though it wasn't like he would really put up a fight or argue, he had to tease the older man.

"I just love when you play hard" he said kissing the side of Daniels neck , starting the engine and driving further. The drive lasted another hour so only the music was playing in the car while the two were holding hands. They had to park at the entrance feom forest and after walking till the plane place where they would set camp.

 

"Finally " he said letting the bags drop on thw ground breathing the fresh air. "Sam, after you put up the tend go find some wood to make a fire. Mark go get some fresh water from the river that is down the path, not far away. You can go together if you want" he started to give directions.

 

"Who pit you in charge" started Mark protesting as he was helping Sam with the tend.

"Myself. Now stop arguing" he said turning to his pack starting to build their own tend. "Babes ... help me with this please" he said looking at Daniel.

"You just enjoy the challenge." Daniel replied with a smirk. He of course had already known that Nick liked it when he played hard to get, but it didn't mean he didn't know why. The older man just liked the challenge it posed, even if Daniel wasn't overly hard to convince. This time though he figured he could put up a bit more of a fight, make Nick truly work for what he wanted. Part of him really just wanted to see how frustrated he could make his boyfriend before he couldn't take it anymore himself.

 

When they reached the parking lot he slipped out and grabbed a few things himself. The hike up to where they would actually be camping was peaceful though he couldn't help but laugh at how happy Nick seemed to be about finally arriving. Watching as his boyfriend started to give orders, eyes raking over him. "I love watching you take control." Daniel mused as he laughed softly when Mark seemed to challenge it only long enough to ask who put Nick in charge.

 

As the others started to put up their tent he moved over to help Nick with theirs, of course having waited for the little prompt to do so. "You're lucky I love you, it was far more interesting to watch from afar." Daniel teased once more. Before long though they had it up and he had put their sleeping bags inside.

"I like to exercise my control in many ways babes" he said in a whisper amirking as he was getting out of the tend to get the rest of the bags. Mark and Sam were done also and went to get what Nick had asked them to. Now they were alone in the camp, but he had to prepare the food for now. It was already ro late to go fishing so it was a good think that he brought some foos from home.

 

"You're lucky i love you and that i hold myself not to lock you in that tend" he said not facing Daniel as he was still preparing the table along with the food and drinks. He was with his back at the other so he could smirk all he wanted.

Daniel rolled his eyes at the comment, though it did make him wonder just how many ways Nick apparently liked to exercise his control. Deciding he didn't care enough to ask he followed him out of the tent, noticing that he was setting up the table and preparing some food for all of them. It was a bit late now to fish like Nick had originally wanted to do tonight, but Daniel didn't remotely mind.

 

Sticking his tongue out childishly despite the fact that Nick kept his back to him, "Like you could keep me locked up in the tent anyways." He replied. Though he loved his boyfriend's confidence it wasn't like he truly thought Nick was capable of doing so anyways. Taking a quick glance around the campsite, it was definitely going to be a good trip, he could already tell, though his mind once more went to Jack and whoever it was the other man had convinced to come on this trip with him.

Nick turned to look at Daniel in amusement but he saw that the other was caught in his thoughta. "Are you alright?" He asked narrowing his eyes. "I was just kidding, dont take me too serious" he added quickly thinking that it was his fault. Before he could say another word he heard the engine of a motorcicler which was appeoaching. "And that would be Jack" he said saying washing his hands with some water feom a bottle.

 

"Hey guys ... hope i'm not to late" saif Jack taking off his casket as the passanger was getting down from the motocycle. "This is Louis my friend" he said pointing towards the tall guy.

 

"Hello there. I'm Nick and this is Daniel" he said quickly looking back at Jack. "Youre late so start setting up your tend" said Nick turning to his former work.

 

"Alright ... alright mistester bossy" said Jack mumbling something indescriptable getting to work. Louis looked for a few seconds more at Nick than turned to help Jack.

Suddenly drawn from his thoughts his eyes locked on Nick and he couldn't help but laugh, "I'm allowed to think. You can be as serious as you want, I still know you never would." Daniel teased about to continue and say what had been on his mind when he heard the roar of a motorcycle instead and glanced in that direction to see Jack had finally shown up and with a guy nonetheless. Giving a small "hey" when Nick took the lead introducing the two of them his eyes moved over Louis for a moment before he turned back to Nick as the two men started on their tent.

 

"Finish cooking I'm hungry." He complained moving over to his boyfriend to wrap his arms around his waist tightly. "Don't make me starve." He added with a small pout. "I might end up locking you in the tent if you don't feed me soon." Daniel teased before he moved away to make sure that they had all of their things in their tent. This weekend was bound to be a good one, and he was definitely looking forward to having even more fun with Nick out here in the woods. Though he was interested in getting to know the other guys better as well.

Nick rolled his eyes with a sigh finishing a small sandwich that he gave it to Daniel so that he stop being so grumpy. He always ended up grumpy when he was too hungry, and there was no escaping from that mood unless he was going to eat. It was amazing how much he knew about the other and even if sometimes Daniel was killing him and was making him angry, with just one smile he would make all go away. that much power the other had over him.

 

Jack and Louis started setting up their tend and talking about the couple behind them. Apparently, Louis was a little interested in Nick but didn't want to say or do anything until he wouldn't found more about them two. In the meant time Sam and Mark got back with water and woods. Joining Nick and Daniel by eating.

 

"Hey ... don't eat without us" cried Jack rushing at the table to get something to eat.

"Laters eat less" said Sam to his brother amused. "Hei there ... I'm Sam, Jacks brother" he said nodding his head. "This is Mark and I'm sure you meat Nick and Daniel" continued Sam.

"Yeah ... Nice to meet you all" said Louis feeling a little to much in the middle of attention.

 

"I'll set the fire then" said Nick starting to gather rocks to make a circle and after placing the wood in it. "Anybody got a lighter?" he asked looking around the others.

"I got one" said Louis handing him the lighter with a small smile. Nick took it and light up the wood, branch by branch so that it can lit quicker.

"All done" he said really proud of himself, washing the sweat off of his forehead.

“Thank you!” Daniel exclaimed happily taking the sandwich from Nick, leaning forward to press their lips together in a kiss before he pulled back flashing a smile. “You’re the best.” He commented more than happy with how quickly Nick had managed to get some food to him. Settling himself down nearby he started munching on his sandwich, a pleased hum escaping from him as he watched Nick continue to work. It wasn’t too long before Sam and Mark were back and introductions were once more made between the group and Louis.

 

Something about the other man put Daniel on edge, but he had yet to figure out what it was. That made it easier to hide the feelings as he leaned against Nick’s side finishing his sandwich as the others started eating. He couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face with how Jack rushed over to eat once noticing that everyone else was eating. When Nick got up to start the fire, Daniel leaned back on his arm watching him as he set everything up in a certain way. He was truthfully happy with how Nick seemed to be so at home while camping and willing to do things like the fire and food for the first night.

 

Once the fire was going and Nick rather proudly stated as much he gave the older man a large smile, “Now come back here.” Daniel said opening his arms in a very clear gesture stating he wasn’t done cuddling with Nick for the day. He didn’t care that there were other people around, Mark had Sam and Jack had Louis… or at least he had him as a friend. That really had been the only information given when the other man had been first introduced to him and Nick a little while earlier.

“Now come back here.”

 

Nick was a little bit confused. I mean, he knew that if he stopped the others hunger will be normal again but like this. I mean, he liked seeing the other so possessive but it was also strange because he never saw him act like that in public. Wondering what's got into him, he thought getting himself in the boy's arms, kissing him softly on the lips.

 

"Alright you suckers ... Who is ready for a drink?" started Jack getting out of his brother's car the alcohol setting it near the fire. Most of the drinking was beer. They had also tequila, whisky and vodka. Everyone looked at the crazy guy with the bottle of vodka in his hand starting laughing. "Now that is a party starting moment" said amused Mark heading near the fire and taking a bottle of beer his brother-in-law so to say.

 

"Wanna do the marshmallow now or tomorrow night?" asked Nick looking at Daniel once the others where near the fire, letting them alone by the table.

Returning the kiss Daniel was happy to have Nick back at his side, leaning into Nick’s side, nuzzling him gently. He didn’t budge from his spot when Jack mentioned drinks, watching him unpack them and putting them near the fire. Watching the others get up and move over to Jack he turned his gaze back to Nick when he asked about doing the marshmallows. “Let’s do it tomorrow. No better way to spend the last night out here then with a nice campfire, roasting marshmallows and spending time with friends, right?” He said with a smile.

 

“You’re the best boyfriend ever.” He commented as he leaned up to kiss him again. Slipping his hand into Nick’s he continued to rest against him. “So, what do you want to do tomorrow?” Daniel asked tilting his head so he could look up at his boyfriend. Absentmindedly he played with the older man’s fingers, “So… birthday…?” Daniel questioned with a small smirk. Even if he knew it was two months away that didn’t mean he was looking forward to it any less.

 

“I think…” He said pausing and pretending to think for a moment, “As long as it’s just the two of us it could be a really amazing day.” Daniel added with a large smile.

“Let’s do it tomorrow. No better way to spend the last night out here then with a nice campfire, roasting marshmallows and spending time with friends, right?”

Nick nodded with a soft smile feeling the warmth of the fire reaching him right in that spot were they were. He made a brilliant fire. He was very proud of himself for that.

“You’re the best boyfriend ever.”

"I try my best" he said laughing as the other went on with the questioning. "Someone is very curious about that. I will have to apologies but I cannot say anything about it. Not tomorrow nor your birthday" he said getting up and heading towards the other to take a bottle of beer. He was thirsty.

Pouting when he was told that Nick wouldn’t be telling him about tomorrow or his birthday. Daniel was more than a little curious and opened his mouth to beg for Nick to tell him something only for his boyfriend to get up and head towards the others to grab a drink. Sighing he tried to think about what it was Nick was keeping a secret, he was more than a little curious and the more he thought about it, the more he wanted to know.

 

Tapping his fingers against the table his eyes moved around the campsite. There was still a few hours of daylight left, and he felt like going for a walk. Glancing towards Nick he gave him a small smile, “I’m going to go for a quick hike. I’ll be back in a few.” He didn’t want Nick to feel like he needed to go. But just to reassert the fact that Nick was his he moved over to him and kissed him wrapping his arms around his waist. “I’ll be quick. Promise.”

He kissed Daniel back narrowing his eyes. He didn't like the idea of the other wandering around in the woods, alone at night. It was still day out but it was long and it would be night. Sighing, knowing that he couldn't hold the other back he just nodded holding him by the hand for a few more seconds. "Just be careful" he said being worried for the other's safety. He didn't know what was out there. There could be wild pigs or something else. He just didn't want to risk it to much.

 

Nick turned back to the other, keeping a gaze on Daniel as he was heading towards the woos.

“Don’t worry. I will be.” Daniel said with a small smile, turning to leave only to feel Nick’s hand still on his. Giving the older man an encouraging smile he moved to leave once it was released a few seconds later. Of course Daniel understood why Nick was worried, but he would be perfectly fine. It wasn’t his first time camping in the area, and he knew how to be safe while out on his own in the woods. He was going to use this chance to think more about their relationship and how he wanted it to end up. One thing that was clear, was he knew he wanted to keep Nick no matter what.

 

It didn’t take him long before the camp was out of sight and ear shot, leaving him alone to enjoy the peace of the woods and his thoughts. As he walked he figured out more and more about how he wanted things to go, but it also got his mind wandering to Louis again. The thought alone made him roll his eyes. The sun had dropped considerably since he had left before he turned to head back to camp. Knowing if he continued along his hike instead it would be dark by the time he returned. He didn’t have a flashlight, so he had no other option.

Louis had watched the couple as he sipped from his beer, his eyes moving to Jack as they spoke for a moment. He figured he could use this chance to get to know Nick better, though he also knew it was kind of sneaky of him to do so. Still, when was he going to get another chance? After Daniel’s display when it came to making the fire it was quite clear the youngest was quite possessive. His outlook on that was Nick would surely find such possessiveness old after a while.

 

Making sure everyone else’s attention was on someone else he moved over to where Nick stood eyes still on the woods. “It’s Nick, right?” He asked though he very much remembered. After he received a response he spoke again, “The two of you… how long have you guys been a thing? You seem really close.” There was a method to this line of questioning, he needed to discover how close the two really were in order to figure out how he’d proceed.

Just when he was taking a sip from his beer he heard someone near him speak. Turning his gaze he saw Louise standing near him asking a dew questions about him and Daniel. He didn't think about it much before he replied. It wasn't a secret after all.

"It's a little complicated but in short we just got back together for a week now, but we know each other for 4 years i think" he said drinking again, finishing his bottle and taking a new one. As long as he didn't combine them he was perfectly fine.

"What about you and Jack? Are you guys together or did he just drag you in here?" he asked very relaxed as this was a normal conversation and nothing more.
