He is also terrible with comforting people, so there's that. He is hot-blooded and short-tempered, but lily-livered he is not. In fact, he can be brutal in more ways than one. He loves a good challenge, but hates to admit defeat, making him a sore loser. In competitions, he practises the chivalry of age-old knights where there should be no advantages pertinent to outside factors; those with a "leverage" (by networking, especially) are considered cheaters in Kagura's books. His overly righteous approach comes off as obstinate and sometimes foolish as well as not strategic. He believes a person should be constantly reminded of reasons to live, because to forget their purpose is to waste their life away as a mindless, directionless caricature. He was an orphan before Hitsui took him in as a ward; specifically worded by the mentor himself, "plucked from the garbage can". Kagura grew up since his early teenhood amongst senior members of Gentlemen's Club, and secretly feels privileged as an "early member" compared to newcomers that joined the secret society after him, although he tries to be modest (miserably badly) whenever his mentor or the leader is present. He approached the club with a Doberman beside him, and asked for a place called home. Unsure on how to turn him away, the circle permitted his stay in exchange for his services as a green mage. He worked his way up from the "nameless errand boy" (who was left alone even by Kagura) to the present day secretary who falters at nothing - even news of their own people going missing. Mostly, he feeds from the pantry and sleeps in the medic room, although he can be found asleep on the floor in his little office as well, surrounded by his animal friends (really, it's just his Doberman and, recently, blonde rat). The leader has once asked if he would like to have his own place, but the offer was declined with no reasons provided, much to everyone's chagrin. One thing he hate is doing something for nothing.

Biography Park Chul was born in Pyongyang, North Korea. Life wasn't so bad for him. Both his parents were high ranking officials in North Korean Military. It was because of this that their family was considered influential and rich and somehow hold power and control among their neighbors. Chul liked how people were respectful to them and he liked that he could play prank to anyone and not get scolded. He greatly looks up to his parents and dreamed to follow their footsteps by joining the military when he grows up. However, at the age of 15, Chul's life took a dramatic change following a power struggle in North Korean Dynasty. His parents apparently pledged allegiance and supported a successor to throne who lost. The candidate and his supporters were executed or sent to Labor Camps under an alleged usurpation. Chul's family was not exempted. They were sent to Hoeryong Concentration Camp, a political prison camp where they worked themselves to death and was treated no different than slaves. Everyone was required to do the same amount of work whether they were old or young, healthy or sick. More than five prisoner died everyday from malnutrition, diseases, mining accidents and even human experimentation by North Korean Medics. By the time Chul grew to adapt living in the concentration camp, he was again involved in another unfortunate event. A family tried to escape the camp but failed to do so. As a punishment, the family and some randomly selected families were shot to death by the guards - Chul and his parents included. Chul was dying in misery. He cursed the world for playing with his life. He cursed the guards who killed his parents before his young eyes. He cursed those that sent his family into this living hell hell. He cursed the family that tried to escape. As Chul was losing consciousness, a flame of life started to burn inside him. he didn't know what it was. He only knew that it was warm and it felt good to feel warm at such a cold winter night. Miraculously, Chul opened his eyes. He didn't know where he was. He only see the trees covered in white snow and the pile of corpses laid on the ground together with him. He was sure he was dying. Chul couldn't explain what was going on, but living was not a bad thing and he was out from the camp. He immediately looked for his parents to see if they're alive. However, there are just too many corpses lying and most of them were already rotting. It was hard to identify anyone when they all wore the same clothes. After three days of searching, Chul gave up, crying, and left on his own. He simply prayed that his parents may be happy in heaven now that they are not persecuted anymore and that they watch over him for when he come back and take revenge. From then on, Chul traveled from place to place under different identities until he reached China (Hoeryong is located near the northern border of North Korea and China). There, in the Japanese Embassy, he applied for asylum in Japan - the country where his only living relative lives. And that is is older brother.

Others - His experience in the Labor Camp made him into what he is today. He doesn't like hard jobs since it makes him remember his traumatic year in North Korea - Luckily, Chul's brother was accepted for asylum by the time he applied for it. His brother was working at Chongryong (de facto North Korean Embassy) in Japan when his family was arrested and sent to labor camps. Fearing that he was not exempted, he applied for an asylum. - He dyed his hair red. - His left eye turned red on its on after he was shot. He's not sure why and it really didn't bother him much. 23 degrees Celsius
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. In regards of his entrance into Japan, I consulted a friend of mine and this is what he has said: Oh! And on the Japanese refugees thing, I couldn't find concrete numbers; they only started counting in 2007, but, from the Japanese Foreign Ministry site, it's listed that they recognised only 577 refugees between 1982 and 2010. Taking into account that the number of accepted refugees peaked in 2010, I think we can guess that in 1995, there wasn't that many refugees accepted. Unfortunately, they didn't give any reasons as to why those people were accepted, but if I were to hazard a guess, it'd be because they had skills Japan needed. So, basically, in 1995, that character wouldn't have been able to get into Japan. Not unless he was clear on who his brother was, and his brother was willing to vouch for him. I think familial ties are a massive advantage when it comes to seeking asylum. As for his survival of a bullet wound to the heart, I found it OP at first, but after some deliberate consideration, I've decided that it's okay. But to mitigate its OP-ness, bear in mind that red magic is the only one that overrules the need to be resourceful on both physical and mana energy. If the red mage ran out of mana, then he dies. Is that fair? Because IMO he otherwise is stronger than a vampire. Back to the immigration thing - you'll either have to provide a different backstory or control his brother as an active NPC as well because Japan is strict with allowing foreigners in. 's prompt and other suggestions, I've delved into finding an appropriate word and have decided upon the word "craft", for its association to sorcery, definition of a "profession", and the brotherhood of freemasonry*. Freemasonry (or just plain Masonry, for short) is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values, and one of the world's oldest and most popular fraternal organizations. Freemasonry is perhaps the most misunderstood, yet popular, "secret society" the world has ever known.

He sounds like a one-man army to me, BUT since he is limited by offensive skills, it's fine. Don't suddenly summon up a storm or tornado in the early on for the roleplay and it's all good! On that note, since you mentioned the nurse as his sensei, will you be playing her as NPC?
check
Well, I was alright throughout until the last part where he's pretty much adept to every part of the white magic. He sounds like a one-man army to me, BUT since he is limited by offensive skills, it's fine. Don't suddenly summon up a storm or tornado in the early on for the roleplay and it's all good! On that note, since you mentioned the nurse as his sensei, will you be playing her as NPC? He is adept but he's not a master, it'll take a looong looooong time for him to become one. It's more of being attuned? It comes naturally, even so, there are still bumps on the road. If he does that in early rp, he'll basically be dead otl. She'll appear, yes but I don't know for sure if she'll became an important NPC in the future.
23 degrees Celsius
The reason I need to know is that I have to plan out how to initiate interaction with all of you before we round up into a group. I'm not a fan of "I was just passing by" for EVERYONE (or most of everyone). I have to wait until Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. puts up their CS before I can draw a mindmap and tailor the main plot. The 90s for Japan was a tough time, because on top of economy crisis, there were terrorist attacks, which is fuel for plotline!
Noise Prince
I'm so sorry… I got accepted to UCF today and I've been celebrating with the family. My character is essentially done it's just about putting it together atm - it shouldn't take long if my computer is agreeable enough

This is in small part due to being unable to share the fact that he was a mage. As a young child, he knew his connection to water was unlike his peers, even those who also adored swimming. He was vaguely aware of mages at a young age due to eavesdropping on his parents' muttered whispers on the taboo subject. He kept his feelings a secret, lest he be mistaken for one. Kaoru couldn't ignore the draw towards illusionary magic, however. Water made him feel things, made him feel connected, but illusions connected him to other people, even if it was a lie. It wasn't until he was in high school when he realized that he really was a mage. His connection and use of illusionary magic had always been subtle, but very frequent, and for him it felt so natural he often forgot not everyone did it. It was almost spiritual, personal. It was strange to get used to the title 'mage' once he accepted that he must be one. It took him longer to decide that he wanted to be more connected to others at large, and has been attempting to find a means to join The Gentlemen's Club, but is terrified of rejection. 23 degrees Celsius
Hey man, I read through the updates on your character, and I'm sorry to say that I'm going to have to reject your character again. I know, doing hours and hours of research for one character isn't good, but your character just has too many holes, and not even holes in parts that can be overlooked; they are in parts that are in - what I find - integral parts of his backstory. 1) My friend did some research on this, and found out that in 1990, when your character would be 13, there wasn't a power struggle in North Korea. Kim Il-Sung was still very much in power and very much in control. 2) I would like to know how your character got into North Korea, as I felt you simply hand-waved it away. Japan has a history of being strict with immigration, so I feel that his method of entering Japan would be quite important to his backstory. As a teen with little prospects for employment, it seems more likely that Japan would turn him away. 3) This is the part I have a big issue with, his status as a spy. I feel that as an underaged person living on his own - who is also unemployed, to boot - would be a rather conspicuous person. Japan is big on making sure new citizens or PRs have proper employment, so wouldn't it make more sense for your character to have a cover? Those are my issues with your character. If you still want to stay in this RP, I would need you to either completely revamp this character or make a completely new one. I presume you're in for the Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , wanting to play as a Korean and all. My suggestion is to use South Korea instead of North Korea. I discussed it with two people among a group that are avid about laws, and such is their response: Thanks.

They could hardly get by with living expenses yet his parents decided to send him to a good school despite his willingness to work after graduating middle school. But because of his parent's persuasion and them wanting to give Tomoe to have a better chance in life, Tomoe agreed to continue his education until he graduated from university. He tried not to rely so much from his parents and took two part time jobs while studying, doubling the amount of work whenever he's in a vacation from school. His hard work finally paid off when he graduated from university and intered into a company that pays well. He was able to provide living expenses to his parents so that they won't have to work as farmers at their age. Tomoe wanted them to enjoy life and be free from any burden related to money. That was what Tomoe wanted everyone to know. No one else aside from his 'brothers' know what his real identity is. Before he graduated from High School, something strange started to happen in Tomoe. He felt something inside him, something he was sure that wasn't him. And this something, was like a different identity that's trying to take over his body. No, it wasn't that simple. It was if someone was trying to merge into him, making Tomoe, not Tomoe but at the same time, his consciousness as Tomoe remained the same. On one particular night, when the moon was at its peak of brightness, Tomoe became berserk. something black with no definite form pouring out from every whole of his body. This outpour formed into ghastly creatures that attacked Tomoe himself. Fortunately, someone unknown to him stopped this creatures from devouring him. He also stopped Tomoe from pouring out his magic. He was told by then that if this had continued, he may not only die from the assault of these creatures, he may also die from running out of mana. His savior gave him a choice. He was told that in order for this not to happen again, he will have to learn to control his powers. Otherwise, he could pose danger not only to himself but to his immediate surrounding should he go berserk for a second time.

Others - Tomoe, dislikes his ability. He himself think that his ability belongs to evil. Despite his mentor's numerous scolding that "Power alone is not evil. It is the holder of the power that can do evil things" - Tomoe is quite jealous to white mages. If he could change abilities, he wants the ability to heal. - Tomoe's ability is like the complete opposite of his personality. This is one reason he has a hard time developing his full potential. - The only thing Tomoe can do for now is stop his power from going berserk and giving material form to some things he imagines for a few minutes before they disperse to thin air. - his power has limits, he cannot make buildings, living creatures or anything complex.

Secret Identity

Club Alias Hollow Maker

Date Joined July 10, 5 years ago

Rank Member

Mask

Mage Type Black

Abilities Partial Creation

Recruitment By A Certain Black Mage (his savior)
