Kai stood up and searched around until he found a rag which he used to clean up his blood. He stayed a careful distance away from the merman. Once the blood was cleaned up he sat down near the pool, but not close enough to be a treat to the other. He leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes, completely letting down his guard. He hoped that it would show the merman that he wasn't hostile.

The dark mer looked over with a low growl but found the stranger not make eye contact... that was strange... all these other humans seemed to want to challenge him and yet this one was just going to sleep... Resting.... Before he knew it, the creature had also curled himself into the small pool of water and dosed off into a deep sleep where he remained. Danny basically fell unconscious again so if anything were to happen, now would be the time to do it before he recovered enough of his senses to wake and attack again.

Kai stood up after a few minutes and walked over. He crouched by the pool and leaned in to look at the wound on he mer's head. He didn't want to bother the sleeping creature but if he was still bleeding then he would have to bandage him up.

Danny was still bleeding but the wound was closing fairly quickly. It would have been easier if he were fully in the water so the salt water would clean the wound but there wasn't enough room to dive in a kiddy pool.

Kai chewed his lip for a moment, the wound seemed to be healing on it's own.... He decided not to mess with it and left the room to talk to the owner. He looked around for a moment before finding the man. "He's fallen asleep for now, and I don't want anyone else going into that room. I'm going to get my bags from my rented car and I'll write up a list of things I'll need you to get me. I'm going to be sleeping in the same room as him."

The owner was a bit surprised but he happily agreed wanting to do anything he could to help. The last thing he wanted was to lose the dark mer. "Anything you need just ask. If you wish, we can move him back to his room. There is a large shallow pool in there. We can close off the main tank so he doesn't dive under the water and away." The owner explained unsure if the kiddy pool would be enough for an eight and a half foot mer.

"is that nearby? I'd rather move him there myself if possible" Kai lightly twirled a strand of hair around his finger, trying to think about what would be the best way to help the mermaid. "I'll need you to get me some live fish, plants, water, and rocks from his home area. Then I'll need a sleeping bag for myself."

"We already have all of those things in the main tank. Of course, the fish in the tank are small and not worth eating so we give him something bigger. And as far as plants go, we reconstructed an entire reef for him to live in. He seems to like it but no matter what he just won't eat. The tank is down three hallways, take a left and it is the door on the right. There is no way you'll be able to carry the mer that far. I'll put him on the table and move him out that way. You're already injured," The owner explained. He wasn't taking no for an answer. As he went he got the mer on the rolling table and brought him back to his tank. He placed the creature in the shallow pool and closed off the main tank. One of his men went out and bought some large and live fish.

Kai watched the employees bring the merman to the tank, worried that they might hurt him. Once the mer was safely in the water he went out to his car and brought back his luggage which he set down next to the tank. "Don't put the larger fish in just yet, I want to make sure he stays asleep for a bit longer."

"Don't worry, those fish won't be able to even swim in that pool. Look at it, it's barely as deep as a puddle on the street," the owner explained. He had put up a large gate around the main pool to keep the mer from disappearing into the depths again. He then placed the wet towel next to Kai as well. "Just in case you want to get his back side wet as well, he explained. The mer had been on his stomach curled up safely, his underbelly protected.

Kai nodded. "Thank you... Would you mind leaving us alone for the rest of the night? I've already eaten so you don't need to worry about that" He smiled at the owner. Having the humans there would just make things more difficult for him.

The owner was willing to give him the space but at the same time he was going to keep an eye on him from the security room since they did just have a large number of cameras and everything put in in order to secure the safety of their investments. The mer wasn't the only one needing watching but he was their top priority at the moment that's for sure.

Kai changed into a pair of shorts and a short sleeve shirt so his clothes wouldn't weigh him down once they were wet. He removed the bandage and brushed off the crystallized blood, his injury had already healed completely. He rebandaged it quickly so that if any of the humans came in they wouldn't see how quickly he had healed. He sat down in the water and pulled out a pack of golden foil origami squares.

Thankfully, this puddle was nice and large so danny could handle the other touching the watwe without feeling threatened. The mer finally woke two hours late and lifted his head to look around. When he spotted the stranger, he got very defensive.

Kai was sitting in the edge of the pool, surrounded by dozens of intricate origami fish. He looked up and smiled at the merman. He set one of the origami fish in the water and pushed it with one finger so it would float towards the merman. He had no idea how the merman would react to the foreign object, but it would help to find out.

The mer looked over giving off a low hiss as the object was pushed forwards. At first, he simply ignored it but after a long while of waiting, his curiosity got the better of him and he picked it up turning it around in his webbed hands. The mer just watched curiously for a long while before shifting and picking up one of the other origami objects near by. He twirled that one around for a while as well before sniffing them to see what they were.

Kai smiled brightly, relieved that the merman didn't react violently. He pointed at himself. "Kai" he said cheerfully. "Kai" he repeated before standing up. He found one of the large fish and picked it up. He sat down at the edge of the pool, holding onto the wriggling fish with an iron grip.

Danny turned his attention to the other as he said and repeated his name. What kind of a strange sound was that? Though, he was pointing to himself. So were all these creatures called Kais? Danny wasn't fully use to the concept of names, clearly not having one by his parents. As the other moved, the dark mer raised his sail defensively and watched as he walked over and grabbed a fish. The mer was hungry but refused to just take it from the human.

Kai let out a soft sigh when the merman didn't take the fish. He had been hoping that he wouldn't have to go with his plan... But it was the only thing he could think of that would show the merman that it was safe to eat. In one swift moment he broke the fish's spine, making it go limp in his hands. He looked at the merman and smiled again before leaning down and taking a bite of the fish's flesh. He sat back and chewed, pulling a couple small bones out of his mouth with one hand.

The mer watched with a hiss in his throat. Why was this man doing this sort of thing. Danny now ignored the fish in Kai's hand and focused on the other ones that he didn't think were claimed yet. Hunger was tearing away at him and those fish looked really tasty. Using his tail and arms, Danny pulled himself out of the small pool and over the concrete towards the fish. He raised his sail and his fins let out a loud growl hoping to scare Kai back. He wanted those fish and was clearly not having the chance of them being taken.

Kai watched the merman go to the fish, trying not to show how excited he was to see that his plan had worked. He stood up and moved away from the other fish. He sat back down and watched for a moment before taking another bite of his fish, hoping to push the merman to eat his own food before Kai had finished.

Danny wasn't a fan of being watched but he was able to claim the rest of the fish as his own so it worked out. He hosted himself up onto the edge of the small tank and snatched one of the fish in his mouth. The mer made short work of the first, practically swallowing it whole. He then moved onto the next and just went at it devouring all the fish in less than a minute. He then began sniffing around. His pride was all but crushed by having to accept food as it was from these humans but he was too far in to stop now. The mer stared hungrily at the stranger. Mermaids were known to eat half their body weight every day which made for a lot of fish to eat.

Kai noticed the hungry look in the merman's eyes. He set his half eaten fish down on the cement, really not wanting to finish it. He stood and walked towards the door, avoiding getting near the merman. He wanted to ask the owner to bring more fish so that the mer could be fully satisfied.

The mer just stayed where he was in his quest for food. He ignored the half eaten fish and let out such a loud howl that it could be heard down the halls. The owner came by to check having seen what happened on the video. With no way of getting fresh fish quickly, the owner settled with frozen or prepackaged fish in cans and so on. It was all they could get at the moment so he gave whatever he could to Kai in hopes for some progress.

Kai thanked the man and brought the fish into the merman's room. He sat down and took all the fish out of the packaging. He put it in two piles, one of frozen and the other of canned. He looked up at the mer and smiled before picking up a small amount of the canned fish and putting it in his mouth.
