Alicio lay with the boy for a few minutes. Once he was sure Sega was asleep he pulled away and went to the bathroom to take a shower and check his email on his phone. He technically didn't have the days off so he needed to see if there was anything he needed to do. Sure enough, there were multiple emails and missed calls from one of his work associates.

Sega was too exhausted to even notice when Alicio moved. The omega slept on comfortably out like a light until pretty late that evening when his best friend came by to check on him. After all, he hadn't been resonding. The beta hurried in to find his friend in a messy state. He got pissed and wanted to kill the alpha but Sega explained the situation. Well, he tried anyway.

Alicio left a note on the bedside table, explaining that he had been called in for work and would be back that night. As promised he came back a bit past dinner time. He had taken a spare key and so let himself in. He immediately grew tense when he smelled someone besides Sega and became even move tense when he heard voices. "Sega?" He called out, dropping his briefcase and rushing to the bedroom.

"NO DON'T!!!" Sega shouted as he tried getting out of the bed to stop his friend but as soon as Alicio stepped into the bedroom, he ran right into a fist getting punched in the cheek. "Don't hurt him he's my mate!!!" The omega shouted struggling to stay standing as his hips were weak.

 

"You bastard!! What did you do to Sega!!" His friend had never gotten this angry before. He was fuming with rage under the impression it was all Alicio's fault that Sega was marked and had sex with Alicio.

 

"Please stop!!" Sega begged feeling tears well up in his eyes.

Alicio's eyes widened, a blind rage washing over him at the sight of his mate being hurt. "You fucker!" He snarled, grabbing Sega's friend by the neck and slamming him against the wall. "How dare you touch him?! I'll kill you!" His grip tightened around the beta's neck, cutting off his air supply. He managed to snap out of his anger just before the other man lost consciousness and released him, rushing to Sega's side instead.

 

"Sega? Are you hurt?" He pulled the boy into his arms, covering his face in kisses. "What did he do to you?" His hands moved to feel the omega's body, searching for any injuries. "I'm so sorry, I should never have left you alone, I wanted to let you rest but..." He trailed off, his voice filled with regret and pain. "I'm so sorry... I should have been here to protect you."

"Stop fighting!!!" Sega pleaded as much as he could while his friend struggled against the alpha. Eventually he was released and slid to the floor coughing.

 

"Stay.... away... from him... Sega...." the beta panted trying to catch his breath. Sega was grabbed and kissed by his mate as he started to cry unable to get his friend and his mate to get along. "Get away... from Sega!!!" the beta growled trying to get back up to fight the alpha.

 

"No!! I chose him as my mate!!! I let him bite me... Please understand!!!" Sega grabbed onto Alicio and was a crying mess. He felt so horrible.

"We won't fight anymore... I'm sorry Sega..." Alicio gently pressed a kiss to the boy's forehead. "I just couldn't stop myself when I saw him hurt you..." He stroked the boy's hair, holding him close, before shooting the beta a cold glare. "I am open to talking to you if you can be civilized. But it is clear that you are unable to do that today. Please leave immediately, I do not want to call the police on one of Sega's friends."

"I think the one to leave should be you. Clearly, you broke in, you raped my friend, and you hurt him so much that he couldn't even answer his phone today!!" The friend growled. "Sega, are you alright? I was trying to hit this damn alpha for what he did to you!"

 

"Stop already! I asked for this! He was willing to wait until I was ready and I told him it was alright!"

 

"That must have just been your heat talking!"

 

"No. This was my choice. Now, I'd like to be alone... both of you." Sega forced back his tears and got up pulling away from Alicio. "I can't be around either of you if you can't work things out."

"Sega?" Alicio's eyes widened as the omega pulled away. He hated the feeling of being rejected that it gave him. For a moment his instincts grew stronger and he almost stopped his mate from leaving. He took a deep breath and forced himself to stay calm.

 

"I understand." He stood up and gently took the boy's hands in his, leaning down to kiss his fingertips. "Just try not to worry and get some rest my love. I'm sure you're exhausted, don't hesitate to call me if you need anything."

 

He released the other's hands and turned to the beta. "You heard him. Are you able to walk or do I need to help you?"

"Thank you for understanding." He was really happy to hear that Alicio understood and respected his wish. The omega sat down on the bed again planning on taking a shower after the other two left.

 

"I can walk," Sega's friend said as he slowly got to his feet rubbing his neck. He walked over and gave the omega a gentle hug before stepping back. As much as he wanted to stay, he knew he had to leave and walked out of the apartment.

Alicio followed the beta out, gently closing the door behind them. "So, I have an idea of why you are so against my relationship with Sega but I would like to hear what you have to say before I jump to any conclusions." He crossed his arms and glared at the other male.

With a deep sigh he said, "See, Sega has gotten in trouble with other alphas before. He'd start dating and they would force themselves on him without asking his permission. Many of them were so determined One actually broke into his house, and tried to rape him. Sega managed not to get marked by covering the back of his neck with his hand in time and if I hadn't gotten there when I did, that man would have done far more damage. Alphas can't control themselves around an Omega in heat and you are no different. That's why I figured you broke in and forced yourself onto him.

Alicio raised an eyebrow in distrust. "Are you sure it's not just because you won't be able to keep him company while he's in heat now that I'm here? It's not often that a beta like you can have an omega all to himself. I wouldn't be surprised if you were trying to prolong the inevitable."

 

He let out a soft sigh and brushed his hair out of his face. "If you are telling the truth then I can probably empathize with you more than any other alpha. All of my siblings are omegas, so I have some experience with..." He trailed off for a moment, searching for the right word. "Unpleasant alphas..." There was a faint hint of sadness behind his words.

"Ha, now look who the liar is. There is no way you could have more than one sibling and they all be omegas. Alphas out number omega's 2 to 1 so it is more likely they'd be alphas than omegas. Also, how dare you accuse me of trying to keep Sega like he was some prize to be won. I'm nothing like you shitty alphas though if I were an alpha Sega would happily choose me. He's been convinced he needs an alpha to live, that they can give him the life he wants of stay home mom. You're probably the one that heard that and figured you'd force him to be your mistress since he didn't want to go out and work." He grew even angrier that Alicio would even think of him trying to cage his friend. "I'm the one who has supported Sega since middle school. You know nothing about him."

"It's not a lie, just very strange genetics and odds." Alicio sighed, lightly rubbing his eyes. "It's no use trying to explain it to you since I'm sure you won't believe a word I say."

 

He frowned at the beta's next words. "I know nothing about you except that you seem to be against allowing Sega to socialize with any alphas. Don't act insulted if I assume the worst. You betas can be just as bad as us, you just aren't as likely to act on your desires and you're less likely to get away with things." It was frustrating to talk to someone like this, he knew that he had to stay rational for Sega but he wanted to just allow his instincts to take over and attack the other male.

 

"Besides, it seems I wasn't too far off." His eyes narrowed. "You're in love with him aren't you? Maybe you really do think that all alphas are horrible, or maybe you're using that as an excuse because you don't want to admit that it's hopeless. Without an alpha Sega would suffer for the rest of his life. He would constantly have to worry about having an alpha attack him, and be unable to be fully satisfied when he went into heat. Whether you believe it or not I did not force myself on him and I have no intention of being unfaithful. You should be glad that I was the one who he chose. The older he gets the more likely he would be to become desperate and lower his standards."

 

"Really there's no reason to even talk about this. Sega has made his decision and I have marked him. No matter how much you hate it there is nothing you can do." Alicio stared into the beta's eyes, allowing his calm facade to fall away for a moment. His full aggression and protective instincts became clear. His presence was almost completely overwhelming, one that could dominate even another alpha. Anyone with experience would recognize it as the presence of a killer.

 

"I will not stand for anyone hurting Sega." Even his voice seemed different, cold and animalistic. "I don't care if you consider yourself his friend. If you refuse to accept reality then he will be hurt by your actions. And if that happens then I will remove you just like I would anything else that causes him pain."

"Stop getting all high and mighty. I care for my friend because he needs the help. I want him to be happy and I've been trying to help him find an alpha partner. I only asked that he take his time so that he can be sure that he found the right one. He's barely known you for a week. For all I know, you could have killed someone in your past and gotten away with it just because your family has money. If Sega were to find out he was marked by someone like that, you don't think he'd be hurt? Because he'd be more than that and he'd think there was truly something wrong with him!"

 

The beta was quite intimidated by Alicio as he grew angrier and more animalistic. However, he had to stay strong the best that he could. There was no way he was going to just leave his friend if this alpha was showing his true colors now. "You should calm down or you're going to prove me right and hurt Sega," he said before turning away and heading down a different road to go home. He was going to leave it at that but at least both of them were able to say their peace. Hopefully they could come to see eye to eye but for now they just had mixed emotions clouding their judgement.

Alicio shook his head as the man walked away. This was going to be extremely troublesome. He took a moment to calm himself and hide the overwhelming aura. He lightly knocked on Sega's door before stepping inside. "Sega? Your friend and I are finished talking for now... Are you alright?"

Sega took a minute to calm down himself before getting up and showering shortly after the other two had left. He came out and went into the kitchen to make himself something to eat. Quite distracted, Sega almost burned the food only saving it just in time. His heat had finally subsided and it was a bit impressive that it only lasted about 3 days thanks to Alicio marking and fucking him. The omega ran his fingers over the mark on his neck wondering if he had made the right choice... After all, he had only known Alicio a few days...

 

The male perked up to hear his name being called. "Alicio? You came back? I thought you'd both go home after your talk." Even though the alpha had tried to suppress it, Alicio's anger still felt present. "Did the talk really go that badly?" He bit his lower lip feeling really hurt by this. These were the two people now closest to him and to not have them get along was really sad.

"I couldn't just leave until I knew if you were okay..." Alicio sighed softly and sat down next to the omega, gently taking his hand to kiss it. "I'm sorry..." He murmured. "We were able to talk a bit but he was too angry to listen and I could barely control myself after seeing you get hurt... I'll try to talk to him again some other time, I promise." He reached out to lightly touch the spot where Sega had been hit, his eyes filled with pain. "How do you feel?"
