Nyuchanxx
Name: Yigreal The wizard lay in the garden outside his home reading. The grass was soft and the sun warm upon his exposed chest. Summer was beginning to draw to a close and slowly the days were getting shorter, Yigreal knew that soon he would have to spend his days inside as the weather got worse, he hated doing that but it was better than living with the rest of the world down in some noisy village where everyone knew your business and one had to discuss the in's and out's of the village with strangers as they shopped in the markets. That wasn't something he would ever enjoy. Here he was happy, in a wooden house in the middle of the forest, not too long a walk to the village so he could get essentials from the market there, and with the hot springs just a minutes walk from his front door, hot springs that for some reason no one in the area knew about. It was peaceful and very rarely did people disturb him. Occasionally they would come asking him to join them on a quest for a magical item but he never went, sometimes they asked him to cure a loved one, but he rarely did; death was as sacred as life, life is meaningless without death. He would help them lift unfairly cast curses but normally they deserved the curse, magically beings rarely gave them out without reason after all. Undoubtedly they said some awful things about them but that was their own business. A sparrow flitted down and landed on his chest, he smiled and whistled softly to it - they actually communicated by the pitch and frequency of a noise rather than just in the tuneful twitters most people thought. It twittered back at him before flying off. This was why he liked it here, birds were too scared in towns and villages to come close to him, just in case he did mean them harm, here they knew who he was. He sighed peacefully and went back to reading his book. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Your go then . . .
Time_Keeper
Name: Phorcys It had been a long time since Phorcys had been able to travel in freedom. A long time since he had a voice for himself and a mind filled with internal purpose. Too long he had been chained by a man he had called master. A man he had known since he was only a mere fledgling, when he had been ripped away from his mother and the safety of their dwindling flock. For years Phorcys has served under his master, followed his every command and never batted an eye when he was ordered to take the lives of those innocent people his master cared not for. Phorcys had become immune to sympathy or care the longer he stayed under his master's shadow. He had thought nothing could affect him anymore. He thought that his hands were blood soaked enough and his heart was black enough that nothing could reach him anymore. Until he witnessed his master torch a group of young children to teach their pleading parents a lesson. He had watched in disbelief as their parents screamed in denial and grief, trying to reach their dying children from behind a line of his master's soldiers. The scent of burning flesh and the screeches of agony coming from the young ones was as chilling as it was haunting, and for the first time in such a long time, Phorcys wondered what exactly he was doing by following his master blindly. In the days that followed, Phorcys' heart and mind grew ever more clouded and reluctant. His actions became unsteady and his wings faltered in their flight. Though his master often questioned his indecisions, Phorcys was reluctant to let his master into his confusion. He no longer wished to do as commanded, he no longer wished to spill blood. He wished for freedom from the nightmare of his existence. He wished for peace. But more so, he wished to find a way to stop the man he had once bowed so deeply to. So it came as no surprise when Phorcys gathered his courage and slipped away one night. Flapping his massive wings silently to slip away into the night sky, the black and white gryphon quickly focused on putting distance between himself and the place which had once been home to him. For many days he flew high above the clouds, only stopping briefly for a drink of water or to hunt for some prey. More so than not, Phorcys kept to the skies, away from the curious eyes of villagers or those who could report him to his master. The rare times he did land and skirt around the outer parts of villages, he made a point to steal a cloak and avoid the gaze of everyone around by sticking to the shadows. He couldn't afford to be seen and even though he didn't like the thought of stealing, by taking hold of a cloak, he could amble a bit more freely around a few towns with the cloak shielding his unique features from view. After all, it wasn't every day one saw a man with pale feathered wings and a black furry tail with a rather fluffy white end to it. Even rarer was that this man wore the uniform and golden plates that only one directly connected to the WarLord of the East, carried. It was better for everyone if they didn't know who exactly he was. And it was during one of his curious exploration of a village that he heard the name of a man that could potentially help him stop his former master. The man was said to be a wizard, someone by the name of Yigreal. Though Phorcys made it a point not to trust or believe anything he heard, he couldn't help but feel a shread of hope that maybe these rumors were true. For days he traveled, stopping whenever he heard the name of the wizard and where he could possibly be.....Today, it seemed his patience and searching had paid off. Making his way easily through the wooded land around what looked like a cabin, Phorcys inhaled another whiff of air and tilted his head to one side as he tasted the breeze. The unique scent of the wizard was just a few feet away but he knew that it wouldn't be wise to just charge forward. Pulling the hood of his cloak over his head a bit further, Phorcys exhaled a heavy breath before gathering his courage once more and moving forward past the forest trees and to where he could see a shirtless man laying on the grass. Feeling a mild hint of discomfort go through him by seeing a stranger in such undress, Phorcys gave his head a quick shake as he stopped just a few feet from the prone man. "Are you Yigreal?" He asked, tone and voice perfectly pitched in even, tranquil and almost emotionless notes. Something that had been broken into him from day one of serving his master. Nyuchanxx
Yigreal felt the magic before he heard the other speak, he had been aware of a slight uneasiness in the wildlife for a while before he felt the magic. But this was no normal predator the wildlife had silenced for. He let the lines on the page blur before him as he focused in on the power. Feeling it swirl through the area, the eddies of energy focusing in on a tall form. Instantly the wizard was on guard, he didn't like anyone disturbing his peace but this was more than that, this had the potential to be dangerous, really dangerous. He drew a slow measured breath as he shut his eyes and watched the magic as it made its way closer to him. Whatever it was the magic wasn't dark, it had been used for ill for there was an unsettling blackness within the currents splitting the beautiful blues and purples that the creatures magic was originally. It was interesting from a psychological point of view which really perked Yirgeal's interest. This being (whatever it was) had blatantly done a lot of evil but had only recently truly come to realisation that his actions were evil, and yet there was something else there that told of fear, though not fear, more of a desire driven by something akin to fear. The erratic movements in the latent magic proved it, at least they proved something. Maybe he was reading it wrong. He opened he eyes and pretended to be reading as he listened. The footsteps were light, he could only tell they were there by the lack of birdsong in the creatures surrounding area, everywhere else they sang but not around that creature. Then he heard them. So soft he had to strain. They stopped. He pretended he hadn't noticed, the best way to win if there was a fight was to gain the upper hand by surprising the other by not being surprised by an attack. It was an odd piece of logic but Yigreal had found that it always worked. This time it didn't. Instead of an attack came those simple words. He blinked a couple of times shocked by the question. Regaining his composure the wizard replied "Yes, how may I be of service." His voice was calm but warm, that warmness was something he had never managed to train out of his voice, it was useful sometimes but more often it was just irritating since it meant people came to him with their problems. Shutting the book the wizard turned his head to look at the newcomer. He was a handsome man with beautiful long brown hair but what really caught his attention was those piercing eyes. Eyes that were so defiant and cold. En captivating. Intriguing.
Time_Keeper
Feeling a small truth of discomfort flow through him at the warmth in the other man's words, Phorcys studied the wizard in front of him carefully. Though many would consider the man's tone inviting, Phorcys knew it wouldn't be smart to trust a stranger. He had never done that before and he wasn't about to start doing that now. "My name is Phorcys, and I have come to you seeking assistance. The people near this area seem to think you are particularly powerful enough to lend aide when it is truly needed. Though I do not know how true this may be, I will take a chance in seeking your help" the long haired gryphon finally spoke again, tones never changing and eyes never wavering. He didn't know quite what would come from this encounter, but he hoped it wouldn't end in violence. He had left his master to seek peace and a way to save those who were in danger of his master's madness. However, if this wizard thought to fight him because his secret residence had been found, then Phorcys would have no choice but to try and strike the man down. After all, that was honestly all he knew how to do well. "There is a warlord in the far East who has begun to overthrow small villages and towns. Whatever he stumbles upon, he decimates. Nothing is safe from his grasp and his cruelty knows no end. His mind is on the dominion of the lands are far as his eyes and powers can reach. This warlord does not believe in peace nor does he believe in mercy. If you do not stand by his side or do as he commands, he will slaughter you in the span of a heartbeat" the gryphon continued softly while reaching up his hands to gently take the hood of his cloak off his head. It had been a while since he had last allowed anyone to see him in his humanoid form but he had a feeling that this wizard would have to know exactly who he was if he even considered helping. Unclamping the pin that held his cloak secured around him, Phorcys shrugged the item off and expanded his Snow White wings slowly while unwrapping his tail from his waist. It was funny how in human form, his head and wing feathers seemed to switch sides. While in his true form, his wings were velvety black and his head was Snow White. In human form that was just the opposite. Better for himself, he supposed, to conceal his true identity. "I know this because this Warlord used to be my master. I was raised and trained under him ever since I was very young. However, I have recently opened my eyes to the error of his ways. He must be stopped before he destroys more innocent lives and brings more agony to other helpless humans. My master is not a man to be trifled with, he is strong but I do not believe him to be invincible. There is always a way to defeat an enemy" Phorcys stated while he folded his wings neatly against his back. A move that seemed effortless and well practiced. "Master has recently set his eyes upon a pair of villages on the outskirts of the Virgril Mountain range. If he is not stopped, more innocent blood will be spilled and the plague of death will only continue to grow.....So I ask you again, wizard. Will you lend me your assistance?" Phorcys finished on a quiet note. Never once letting his eyes stray from the man.
Nyuchanxx
Yigreal watched with untelling eyes as the other removed the cloak from his shoulders and revealed those beautiful snow white wings that looked softer than anything he had seen before. A thought occurred to him and he chuckled slightly, ignoring the others question he nonchalantly asked "How'd you keep them so white? They look pure enough to have never even seen the light of day, I am not even sure I could get something that white with magic!" He laughed and lay his head down on the grass looking up at the sky again. He continued chuckling to himself although in reality he was simply covering the fact that he was deeply troubled by this moral dilemma presented to him, he was trying to gain himself more time. Sience fell. The wizard shut his eyes and listened to the world around him. On the one hand he really shouldn't be messing with things that he didn't completely understand and this wasn't something that he felt he had the knowledge or the power to judge, there could be an entire series of events and misunderstandings that had lead the belief of this person (was it person? Yigreal wasn't quite sure what to call it. Some sort of changeling at any rate.). However if he did assume that everything that Phorcys said was true and there were no hidden meanings or desires then didn't his morals compel him to go? He opened his eyes and stood up. "Come inside, we need to discuss this." His voice took on a serious tone now all joking gone. He lead the way into the house showing the other to the sofa before he excused himself to put a shirt on. He walked out the room still buttoning the shirt. His mind was running through a multitude of scenarios based on the others suggestions from full out lying to a reality that's worse than the male was suggesting. He didn't know what was true. But he was going to have to do something and that would potentially affect a lot of peoples lives. He sat down in a chair opposite the male and resting his elbows on his knees made bridges out of his fingers. He was silent for a long time before in carefully considered words he slowly said "If I assume you aren't tricking me, which frankly I don't think you are, which leaves us with either you are telling the truth or have blown it way out of proportion, or of course you're being threatened and have to do this." He was quiet for a moment longer gauging the males reaction. "Let me make a proposition; I've been meaning to travel that way to pick up some rare things, I'll travel with you and use you as my protector and if I see that what you say is true to large enough of a degree then I will help, if not I will assume it's a trap and kill you on the spot. How does that sound?" He was slightly trying to scare the other in case this was something dangerous but also he wanted to protect himself, people had tried things like this on him before and he had suffered immeasurably for it, he wasn't going to now.
