Sathenus
“It really is fine.” Bakari responded. Watching Naeem for a moment before he spoke again, “I can’t change how they see me. They’ll always see me as a whore, as a slave. That’s something I have long since accepted.” The truth of it was, even though it hurt to hear someone call him a whore, or refer to him just as a slave it was something he could not change. He had already gotten over the fact that to anyone other than Naeem that was exactly what he was. Giving his body to the older man whenever his Pharaoh wanted it, serving him without hesitation like the slave he was. Even if Naeem told him he was his lover, there was no changing his true status. Pressing his lips gently to his Pharaoh’s neck he spoke once more, breath washing over the skin. “I might always be a slave, but I’ll always be your slave. No matter what I want to be by your side.” His words were nothing but truth. His life rested in Naeem’s hands, the only person he truly trusted with it. Even after everything that had happened and the truth that had come out the older man was the only one he could still trust. Though he was a little nervous about how the other guards would be treating him now that those four would be executed. But he figured there would always be time to figure that out later. Kotorichan
"I know... I suppose it is just my own guilt.." Naeem pressed his lips to the boy's forehead. "It is my fault that you are in this position isn't it? It is because I was selfish and wanted to keep you to myself." He hugged Bakari a little tighter, nuzzling his hair. "I love you, and it pains me to know that all I can do is to make this life as painless as possible instead of making it happy."
Sathenus
Bakari sat staring out one of the palace windows, after the execution of the four guards that had raped him things had been peaceful in the palace. That was… until Naeem had been pushed even more to find a bride and had been engrossed in that. Though Bakari didn’t want to be needy he had noticed his Pharaoh had less and less time for him. Something that he had to admit made him jealous, even if he knew that it was important that the man find a wife and get married. It didn’t help the fact that he was currently feeling ignored and in a few instances unwanted. It seemed like he was becoming more and more of a burden as the days went on and Naeem continued his search for the perfect bride. Part of Bakari really wished that he was capable of giving his Pharaoh with an heir, knowing if it was that Naeem wouldn’t have to find someone else. Of course, it was impossible, males couldn’t bear children. Sighing softly, he leaned back against the corner he had settled himself in, at least he was out of the way and he was sure no one would spare him a glance as they walked by. It wasn’t really like anyone had the time to do so anyways.
Kotorichan
Naeem couldn't stand how little he could see his lover. It felt terrible to be apart from the other male for so long. All he wanted was to spend more time with Bakari, but he had no choice but to spend his time with potential wives. He could only hope that once the wedding was over he could continue to spend his time with Bakari instead. A tall figure approached Bakari in the halls, his body was slim and draped with expensive fabrics. He paused for a moment before lowering himself next to the concubine, a slight smile playing at his lips. "Hello..." He lightly tilted his head to the side, his long raven hair tumbling over his shoulders. "May I ask why you are sitting here?" His voice was cool and musical, and had a faint accent. Sathenus
Bakari was aware of the sound of footsteps as his gaze remained on the view outside. Not really taking much note other than in the fact that they were there until he heard a voice. Without much thought he flinched away noticing that a man had approached him and knelt down beside him. The first thing to strike him was he must be in the way, or that he had done something wrong. "J-just... trying to stay out of the way..." He murmured softly eyes dropping to the floor. Ever since his Pharaoh had been taken up with spending time with his future brides he had lost sight of where he truly belonged. Though he know longer had a fear of the guards the servants didn't want him around either. Normally the other important men walking the palace halls didn't spare him so much as a glance much less any words. That was why this confused him so much. His eyes slowly moving back up to the man as he waited. He expected to be told to go somewhere else, that he was in the way. But that arose the question of where? He had nowhere else to go. Not really. Though he supposed he could find a different corner. Still, he didn't know his way around the palace that well. So much of it was still undiscovered by the concubine. Part of him felt like he should apologize, obviously he was in the man's way somehow or he never would have been acknowledged.
Kotorichan
"Would you mind if I join you?" The man smiled gently, tilting his head to the side slightly. "My mistress is currently dining with the Pharaoh, and I'm really not familiar with this place... It seems like anywhere I go I'm just in someone's way..." He let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry, I suppose I'm just feeling a bit obsolete..." The man began to stand again. "I should leave you alone, I'm sure I'm just bothering you." Sathenus
Bakari noticeably relaxed when the man asked if he could join him. Something about how he said it made him realized he wasn't in the man's way after all. What was said after made him sigh, eyes going back to the window. So this man was here with one of the woman who was in a sense taking his Pharaoh from him. Of course the idea of the man joining him after that wasn't really a pleasant one. "You can. If that's really what you want." He responded not refusing the man the chance to do so. Turning his gaze back towards the stranger when he apologized and mentioned feeling obsolete. He figured anyone would feel that way compared to his Pharaoh. Especially since if placed beside the man woman would more than likely choose Naeem. It didn't make him feel any better but he figured it was natural in this situation. "You aren't bothering me." He replied watching the man. It actually seemed nice that someone had even a moment to spare for him. Even this man that he didn't know and who probably could be in much better company. It didn't matter that one of the women who was possibly stealing his Pharaoh from him was the man's mistress. As long as someone was paying attention to him and not in a negative way he was going to enjoy it.
Kotorichan
The man sat back down and gave the boy a gentle smile. "Thank you." He started to lean back against the wall. "Ah, my name is Esthe by the way. I am the Princess Chione's personal tutor and assistant. Although as I said, it seems that I'm becoming less and less useful to her." Sathenus
Bakari watched the man sit back down and lean back against the wall. Listening as he introduced himself. Hearing that he was the princess's tutor just reminded him of why Naeem had originally wanted him. Instantly his heart ached, eyes going to the floor. Was he supposed to introduce himself now? It seemed insignificant. Still he felt it was only right to do so, though he doubted with his lack of clothing that the man hadn't already figured out. "I'm Bakari... the Pharaoh's concubine." He murmured softly. His eyes once more going to the window. It felt wrong to be speaking to this man, though he wasn't exactly sure why.
Kotorichan
Esthe tried not to show his surprise at the boy's words. He hadn't been expecting that. Bakari was undeniably beautiful, but he didn't have the sultry, slutty look that many concubines seemed to have. "Ah... I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised that the Pharaoh would choose someone as beautiful as you..." He smiled gently.
Sathenus
A soft blush colored Bakari's face at the other's response. He wasn't used to anyone other than Naeem calling him beautiful. In many ways he felt like no one saw him as anything other than a slave. So many (especially in the palace) were able to ignore him rather easily. If it wasn't for his Pharaoh he would have argued Esthe's words. He didn't do so, though his gaze was once more pulled to the man. There was a part of him that wanted to ask how long the other's princess intended to stay. But... did it really matter? If she left and wasn't picked then Naeem would just be taken by another and so on until one was. He'd still be ignore or at least very rarely given the attention he wanted. It was strange to realize that his body and mind had become so dependant on his Pharaoh. Now that he didn't have his constant attention and affection he felt... lost. Kotorichan
"Ah... I apologize, that may have been out of line..." Esthe frowned slightly. "I can't imagine that the pharaoh would approve of something that could come across as flirting." He looked over at Bakari. "Is it still alright for me to sit here with you? I'll do my best not to bother you."
Sathenus
"You aren't bothering me." Bakari responded with a small smile. Honestly, he was just glad to finally have some attention. "You can sit here for as long as you want to." He added. The company alone was nice and much appreciated. He wasn't about to send Esthe away and be left by himself once more. "I like your company, and the Pharaoh has been far to busy to notice much." He murmured after a short silence had spread between them. Maybe it wasn't good for him to say that but it was true. Already feeling ignored and unwanted he wasn't about to push someone away just because they called him beautiful. At this point that was more of a reason to keep Esthe around. Kotorichan
"Ah... I'm sure that it isn't anything personal..." Esthe frowned deeply. "My mistress has something of a fear of men, so he has to be very gentle to convince her to wed him. If they marry then it will greatly benefit the pharaoh... So I can imagine he would want to try his best." He leaned back against the wall, staring up at the ceiling. "Of course it is unfortunate for those of us who have no other purpose." Sathenus
A soft sigh passed Bakari's lips at the other's words. He knew it wasn't anything personal. That didn't change the fact that he wanted more of the man's attention. He wasn't used to having competition for it, in fact, he wasn't sure how to go about showing he was feeling ignored and unwanted without coming across jealous or needy. "If anyone can be gentle enough to convince her than the Pharaoh can." He murmured softly not really sure if he was happy with such knowledge. He knew that if anyone was up to bringing the princess around his Pharaoh could do so. Glancing towards Esthe at the last comment he didn't reply for a moment. Then he spoke his voice still soft but curiosity filled it as well, "Lets say they do marry, the Pharaoh and your princess. Wouldn't you be moving into the palace with her?"
