Belita
Not much to tell... I went to AnimeAmanga site and choose to read all manga available in each genre....... Till i reached Yaoi(for the record i didn't know what Yaoi or Yuri and other meant...) Actually it was kinda shocking the first i read it...i didn't knew that there were manga about this, and i was/am all crazy about it... I never watched a gv from start to end, i found a few online but didn't liked them much...I fast forwarded all movies... (Nezu's been trying to convince me to watch one) I watched a few ova's, sesitive pornography, koisuru boukun, and...i liked them but yaoi manga is still my fav... Been sticking to it ever since i read my first one
mangamaani
Here in my country isn't very much manga, so I read everything that is published in here. Here isn't any yaoi, but some shounen-ai manga can be found. One day I borrowed Eerie Queerie from library and liked it, but it wasn't the actual start for my yaoi-reading. First I read yuri after that Hentai and then one day I was reading hentai online, when i clicked on some yaoi-manga and read it. First I didn't understand what was happening in that manga and thought it was odd, but then I became curious and read the hole night yaoi. Then I had pause on reading but after sometime I started to read it a lot.

JYNaRa
My first ever encounter with yaoi was a manga, at first I didn't love it nor did I hate it. I read it along with other shoujo manga, but at some point I read one with details that weren't nice (I don't mind the details as long as they are ... "clean"? lol). So it got me away. But I have a friend that went crazy over some Takano-senapi I don't know, and even got me to call her senpai too (because she is older than me), lol. I didn't mind since I really loved Japanese stuff and it made me happy. So I was curious about this Takano-senpai, she wasn't an anime freak, and that got me thinking what's so special about him! lol And from there I watched Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi, and Loved the characters, the details, drawing and certainly the life and movement unlike a manga. (Although mangas still makes my heart throb XD) And know I'm crazy about Takano-senpaaaai! lol XD .. but yeah, I love it now. It's just good to watch the characters
<3Gaara
I liked it, but I was a bit surprised that the sex scene was in the first couple of pages, I wasn't really expecting that, also probably because I chose to read it because the title sounded cool, and I read it when I was 14 or 15. I was also a bit surprised at the detail put into the artwork, it was very good although I did stop reading it for a while and then I picked it back up when I was about 16 and 1/2 I'm really glad I started reading it again, I have found quite a few good mangas, but also some that don't really interest me, but I suppose that happens with everything
Yurusumaji
I've been a hardcore anime fan for years, but I avoided hentai/yaoi/yuri like the plague for all those years because the loudest people are the ones who put down that sort of thing. I got into a chat about it with a buddy and decided I wanted to see for myself what all the controversy was about. First, I watched a hentai. Then I read some hentai manga. Then I read some yaoi manga. Then I finally read a yuri. Once I had dipped my toes in the water, I realized that I was really quite interested in the yaoi manga. I couldn't seem to break the spell it had put over me. They were all so interesting, so I read a few more. I was just picking them randomly and reading them. And the vast majority of them I found enjoyable. The more I delved into it, the more I thought, "Wow! This is amazing, I can't stay away from it." It enveloped me and it really awakened a part of my brain that felt starved and emaciated. As someone known to have a rather unusually high sex drive, yaoi satiated my lust in ways other forms of perverted media couldn't. Beyond that, I found that I loved the stories and I was fascinated by the relationships and the way they developed in yaoi manga. It felt so different from all of the other love stories that it stuck out in my mind like a thorn on a rose. Since then, anytime you ask what I'm doing when I'm at home online, my answer will likely be, "Reading a yaoi."
Andro
I was over 20 when I first read yaoi. I didn't know what yaoi was, but I liked it. It didn't shock me, but it took some time, until I didn't find it strange.
Guest FujoshiFTW
Well; my first reaction wasn't all that pretty. Since I was into manga at the time when I discovered yaoi (and still am now, mind you :L), I knew a little about what yaoi, yuri, hentai and ecchi were. Though of course, I didn't go "explore it" as hey, a 12 is usually freaked out by these things. Nevertheless, on a bored summer's day, I was on a manga reading site where they had a catergory labelled "yaoi" that caught my eye. Being the bored teen I was, I clicked on it and yeah, I was in. I was actually totally ok with the first title I chose to read, as, if I remember correctly, it didn't have any sex scenes at all. As for my second title, there was a scene where the uke was giving the seme a blowjob and I spazzed and freaked. I think I just shut my laptop down with a second thought. I thought that would be it but the next day I came back for more and that's how my obsession began :L True story, lol.
tiger lily
My first impression of yaoi was with the anime Gravitation. The characters were beautiful and I loved the storyline, it was really funny and really cute how Shuichi acted in every situation, especailly towards Yuki!! It really didn't bother me at all that it was a anime on boy love. I thought it was super cute and really beautiful.
CamelliaMichaelis
First time when I saw yaoi,it was accidentally somewhere on internet. I was aghast and felt little embarrassment. I didn't liked it. But... After some time I started watch anime Kuroshitsuji. There is lot of fanservis. At the very first time I wasn't interested in this, but after I watched second Kuroshitsuji musical... The main story is about Alan and Eric, and their story is so tragic... There was never said if they were just friends or lovers, but it start interest me and I started read fiction for thi two... And somehow I start like it. After some time I watched Junjou romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi. And now I'm in it. I just love yaoi and BL and see it in everything. It's sometimes annoying. But even, I still don't like hardcore yaoi. Something soft is better for me.
cat_greenmoon
I don't really remember what my initial reaction was....I've loved it for almost as long as I've been into anime (which is a large chunk of my life XD) So, yeah, I'd probably have to say that my first impression of it was that I just loved it! (I'm here aren't I?) I actually think the first yaoi I ran into was either Mirage of Blaze (which I think I only saw like two episodes of back when I was like 13 and don't really remember) or it was a Yu Yu Hakusho fanfic (Yusuke and Kurama - which I KNOW for a fact was yaoi)....I just remember them both being at about the same time but I don't remember which was first....but I did love them both so... vampireluvr97
Hm.... Let me see.... What was my opinion when I first saw and/or read yaoi.... The first time that I saw yaoi was from a YouTube video called "Let's play a YAOI game" At the time, I was just looking up the song "let's play a love game" and I ended up clicking the wrong link. I was a bit annoyed that I clicked the wrong link, but I thought the video looked as if it was good. Luckily, it was late at night, and that I was all by myself. Anyways, at first I thought Why are there guys kissing each other and making the scenes so adorable? Anyways, I didn't know what it was, so I looked in the description, and kept looking at certain scenes that I liked, and looked for the corresponding manga. Note, this was probably my first manga, though I had scene plenty of anime in my time before that. Anyways, I searched it on google images, and found pictures of the series. I was like O.O It's so pretty! The artwork, and everything! Wait.... Is that a guy or a girl? Next moment I know, I was suddenly watching the anime, and found out everything I needed. I soon got hooked onto the story, but also the idea of yaoi. From there on, I soon read sekaii icchii hatsukoi, and from there become a fan of the anime world, along with yaoi. :] Also, if anyone has some good manga to read, tell me. :]

animelenik
i discovered yaoi about two or three years ago before that i watched a lot of comedy, fantasy and school life anime ... but one day i found Junjou romantica and watched it i was so facinated by it so i started to look for other things like Junjou romantika ... then i found pages with yaoi mangas and from that day i love yaoi ... and i can't get enough of it :leaf15:
EvilVampKittyOfDoom
I discovered it about two or three years ago as well. In the graphic novel section of the local public library, there were a few copies of Gravitation. I read the back of it and figured out that it was a boyxboy romance. My initial reaction? "O_O That's weird..." But I was curious, so I flipped through it a bit and decided "The plot seems interesting. And the boys are so pretty. I'll give it a try." From then on, I found a few other yaoi manga and from then on I was addicted to yaoi.
Sasunarufan13
I was reading fanfiction until I suddenly saw a fic with the pairing Draco/Harry. I was suddenly curious and I clicked on it and coincidentally it was rated M so I had immediate action :cuteonion50: At first I was looking at the screen like this O.O, then O.o and then finally :cuteonion46: That was my first introduction to yaoi and since then I've been pairing every cute male I see in mangas, books or tv up with other males :cuteonion50: Now I think it's the most wonderful thing ever onion0 LOL
triptondjones
Uh, I'm not sure. I think I've always had a dirty little mind since elementary school. I mean when I played with Barbie dolls, I made Ken and Barbie have sex all the freakin time. Ahh, that's embarrassing. >. ALL HAIL YAOI!!!
