Matt caught himself staring at his friend every once in awhile. The other man was just so attractive, and somehow even more so when he was focused on something. Matt busied himself with his phone again, trying to find something, anything, to keep himself from looking at his friend too much.

When Ken finished his work Matt stood up and stretched. "About ready to go? My dad's gonna be out late so we'll have the whole place to ourselves, sound fun?"

Ken hadn't noticed the others glances and continued on with his paperwork. By the time he finished both he and Matt stretched at the same time, however Matt stood up as he did so. Ken ran his hand through his hair before standing up himself. "Dude, your old man is out late all the time." He packed the papers in a stack and left them in a pile neatly next to the computer. They would be there for whoever came in to finish with them. "But yeah, nothing better then having a whole house to yourself right?" He chuckled at that and came out from behind his desk, clapping Matt on the shoulder. "Let's go"

"That's because I don't invite you over when he's gonna be around." Matt said with a chuckle. "He can be a real dick." That wasn't actually the main reason, but it was one of them. Matt's father could be physically violent when something made him angry, or when he had too much to drink which was almost all the time. "Anyway, let's get going."

"Oh come on now. He can't be that bad." Ken laughed as the two exited the shop. Ken closed it and locked it. Besides the manager and the shop owner, he also had a key. He was well trusted and was usually always the only one to stay late if problems rose up. He stuffed the key in his pocket. "I've seen my share of dicks, I think I can handle them pretty well."

"Oh?" Matt smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Who's dick have you seen? Or were you too drunk to remember?" He lightly nudged his friend with his elbow. "Come on, I'll drive you." He started to walk towards his parked car. He still didn't know if Ken was completely straight or not, but there was no good way to ask.

Okay, so he definitely walked into that one. He laughed it off when Matt nudged his arm before Ken followed to his friend's car and then broke away so he could walk to the other side. Ken had in fact seen his fair share of dicks. In high school he saw his teammates in the locker room all the time. It was practically known as the free zone. It was also where he learned he was bi. He liked girls, no doubt about it. But he found himself looking at guys just a little more. He'd never dated a guy, never even confessed to one. So he kept with dating girls as to not screw up what friendships he had. And so he just stuck to the opposite gender. Not that his relationships ever lasted. And he partially blamed himself for that.

Matt got into the driver's seat and waited for his friend to buckle up before starting the car. "Have you met any cute girls when you go out drinking? It's been awhile since you've told me about someone you met." He started to drive towards his family's house. It was in an extremely rich neighborhood which was a bit far from Ken's workplace. It sometimes felt weird to see the difference in their wealth, but he never brought it up.

Ken sat in his seat and buckled up. He knew very well that Matt never even put the car in start until all passengers were buckled in. That was something that their high school friends always found annoying, but it never once annoyed Ken. He was glad his friend took safety in his passengers. "Nah man, I think Genny might have hooked up with some girl he met at the bar. But it was literally just all men there for a while." He leaned his elbow on the side of the door and rested his cheek against his balled fist. "Besides, I'm not interested in dating at the moment. Not saying I don't want to. If it happens, then heck, it happens. I do want to settle down at some point. But I ain't rushing it."

"That makes sense, I've been needing to hook up with someone. Life's been really stressful lately." Matt sighed in frustration. "I don't know if that'd actually help of course, it's just one of those things that people think is good for stress." He pulled into the long driveway of his family's mansion, clinking a button on the inside of his car to open the electronic gates.

Everything about his family's home was overly ornate, to the point where it was clearly just a sign of wealth and power. The mansion was far too large for the three people who lived there, it always felt so empty and lifeless.

Matt parked his car and got out. "Well, here we are." He stretched his arms, ready to lay down and watch a dumb movie.

It was affection he showed Matt all the time. Placing his hand on the back of his head and ruffling up his hair just a bit. He was more gentle knowing that Matt was driving. "Don't worry too much about it dude. You'll find someone who will gladly settle down with you." He let his hand drop back down into his own lap. "Your too nice of a guy not to settle down with anyone." Totally oblivious to what his actions and words had towards Matt, Ken kept his eyes on the road until they reached Matt's house.

He'd been there plenty of times, but he could never get over how huge it was. He watched the gates open slowly and looked out the window as they drove past the house in order to park the car in its designated spot. When they got out he leaned on the door of the car. "Seriously dude, how am I friends with you? We live completely opposite lifestyles." He held a smile on his face despite his words. Making sure his friend knew he was just joking.

Matt knew that Ken was just trying to cheer him up, this sort of thing happened a lot, but he couldn't help but hope that there was some kind of deeper meaning to those words. "Thanks. Maybe you should let me come drinking with you sometime, maybe that'll help me get outta this rut." He had never actually come out as gay to Kas, he was always afraid that it would bring up difficult questions. But maybe if he just went out drinking and started flirting when a man he couldn't have to go through the whole awkward process. Matt had always just avoided telling Ken about anyone he dated, most of them were people he met at university anyway.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by Ken's comment about his house. "I dunno, maybe you're actually just slowly seducing me so you can marry rich." He teased, giving the man a grin. "Become a trophy wife and never work another day in your life." He ruffled his friend's hair lightly before heading into the equally extravagant interior of the building.

Ken ignored Matt's comment about coming out drinking with the group. Somehow he felt that no one else was allowed to see Matt in such a state of weakness. He didn't know why he felt it, but a strong possessiveness of his friend ran cold trough him. He quickly shook the thought away when his friend made his next comment, answering Ken's own question.

He crossed his arms over his chest and gave a nod, a serious look on his face. "Though the thought is rather tempting," he grinned back at his friend with a wink. Once again, an action he was oblivious too. "But I don't think a trophy wife lifestyle is for me. I'd hate not being able to work hard at something I love doing." His words stopped when Matt walked up behind him ruffling his own hair, copying the same action he did before in the car. Ken let out a laugh accompanied by a small snort. He was always made fun of it, but Matt always told him there was no reason to feel embarrassed by it. Soon Ken started letting out his true snorty laugh only around Matt.

Matt stepped into the mansion and led his friend up to his bedroom. The room was huge and surprisingly neat. The furniture and basic room setup had all been done by an extremely expensive interior designer. It also had Matt's personal touch, knickknacks on the dresser and bookshelf, school supplies scattered over the desk, a huge tv with game consoles, but the sterility of the fancy furniture still shone through.

"Well, I guess if you're not gonna be my trophy wife I'll just throw away that engagement ring I bought you." Matt gave a huge dramatic sigh, flopping down on his couch and throwing his arm over his face. "I guess I'll be alone forever..."

Ken followed Matt inside, staring wide eyed at everything within. It seemed like every time he came here something new was being added to the mansion. It felt like forever before they reached Matt's room. Like always it was way to clean. Sure there was a little bit of his charm laying about here and there. But it wasn't nearly enough to envelop the huge room. His bed always looked like it was never slept in, the couch never sat in, heck even the very floor looked like it was never walked on. Matt sat down on the couch with a sigh dramatically announcing what to do with a ring.

Somewhere deep deep down in Ken's very soul it flipped for joy. However on the surface of his skin, his mind, he couldn't process why he felt that way about his friend having bought a ring. He slung himself over the back of the couch, arms snaking over Matt's shoulders and his chin resting on the back of Matt's head. "Dude you know, if I was forced to marry just for looks, I'd marry you in a heartbeat. The paperwork is all that says we'd be married, we could live together and still act like friends. The way we've always been." He fell silent, wondering why he was even saying this. "At least then people would stop asking me if I were married. Then I could just show them the ring and be on with my day."

"Don't worry, I didn't actually buy you an engagement ring. I don't even know your ring size." Matt sat up and scooted over to give Ken some space to sit. "You should marry someone you actually love, you can always count on me for money even though we're just friends." He smiled and lightly patted the man's shoulder. "If you do want me to get you a ring so you tell people you're married then I totally can."

He leaned back and stretched his arms, yawning softly. "What would you like to do? Watch a movie, play games, take a nap? We can order delivery later if you get hungry."

Ken laughed out pleasantly and waved off Matt's comment. "I'm not even dating anyone, it's way too early to be talking about me getting married." When Matt moved over for Ken to sit on the couch, he did so. Climbing over the back of the couch one leg over at a time and slid down next to him. Their shoulders were nearly touching one another as he leaned back against the couch and rested his eyes. "First off....can I borrow your shower? I smell like oil and I'd rather not let linger on the furniture." He had opened his eyes to look at his arm and smell it, clearly smelling the oils on him.

"Of course you can, you remember where it is right?" Matt smiled at his friend. "Have I ever stopped you from showering? This is pretty much just your second home." He poked the other man's cheek. "So just relax, I'm not some chick you're trying to flirt with." It was extremely difficult for Matt to talk about their relationship without joking around, if he was serious then it would just make him wish for more.

Ken let a toothy grin form on his face as Matt poked him in the cheek. The small touches his friend did made him feel happy. It was odd to some he knew, but Matt had truly been the one friend who really felt himself near. And Matt had accepted him completely. "Great. Then I'll just borrow it then. Oh and uh....borrowing some clothes too." Ken stood up off the couch and walked over to where the bathroom was. He was one of those who didn't bring clothes with him. He'd come out fresh from the shower with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.

Matt chuckled softly as the other walked off without a change of clothes, it was cute how shameless Ken was around him. Although it always got Matt flustered to see Ken's bare skin, he would be able to deal with it. As Ken bathed Matt gathered some clothes that should be able to fit his friend. He set them out on the couch before sitting back down and turning on the tv. He really didn't want to think about what it would be like to join Ken in the shower, to help him wash his body... To feel his skin and muscles...

He quickly shook his head, trying to clear his mind before he got himself turned on.

Ken loved his showers. Warm to almost hot, sometimes even really hot water poured down his body as splashed on the tub floor. When he was younger he'd bathe in the tub for what felt like hours and as he grew older he just showered more frequently then taking a bath. But there was always time in his life for one long soak a week in the shower.

Today just happened to be it. After washing his hair and then his skin he leaned against the wall of the shower, arms stretched out in front of him as the water ran down his back. He took in some deep breaths relaxing into the massage of the water.

When he was done, Ken made sure to dry himself plenty before leaving the bathroom. At home he would just walk right out, water dripping every where. But he wouldn't do that here. He had some class to him. When dry, though his hair was still pretty wet, Ken exited the bathroom, towel wrapped around his waist.

"Maaaan, your shower feels so nice! Wish I had one of those in my apartment." He laughed as he sat on the carpeted floor leaning against the couch, not yet ready to grab the clothes and dress.

((Don't worry about it. Totally know how you feel because I felt the same way just a few days ago))

"I feel so used right now..." Matt sighed dramatically. "You're only my friend because I have a nice shower huh?" He chuckled softly and ruffled his friend's hair. "You're gonna catch a cold one of these days if you keep sitting around naked. He kept his gaze away from Ken. It really would help if the other man put on some clothes.

Matt stayed silent for a short time, staring at the ceiling. Was this really it? Was he always going to have to sit next to the man he loved and pretend everything was normal? He hated it so much. The weight had been building up for years and it was becoming so unbearable. Why couldn't he just say his thoughts..?

"Ken," He finally said quietly. "I'm gay."

Ken clicked his tongue at his friends joking comment. A joke to urge the atmosphere on. "Out of all my friends, your bathroom

has got to be the best!" He laughed out to his own joke before Matt tousled up his wet hair. At the motherly tone of catching a cold, Ken did as was told and began drying it. "Yes mom." He joked and leaned forward to hide his head in the second towel he had brought out. More like a hand towel, since the normal sized towel was the only thing covering his naked body.

Ken wasn't expecting what had happened next to come out. In fact he never thought it possible by the way his friend acted towards everyone. In surprise his hands froze from drying his hair and they dropped into his lap. He remained hunched forward, unable at that time to turn to his friend. He really didn't know what to say.

What did you say to your best friend who decided to just out of the blue tell you he was gay. Then he did it. Ken let out a laugh, a somewhat shocking laugh. "Dude, seriously, that ain't something to joke about." But at that time he had still yet to turn around.

Matt went silent for a moment, his chest aching from his friend's reaction. Of course he would treat it like a joke... Otherwise he would be disgusted. It was stupid for Matt to even try to come out, even worse was the fact that Ken was dressed in such a way.

"Ha..." Matt let his hair fall in front of his face. "Yeah, I guess you're right." He was trying his best to laugh it off, or at least remain calm. But he couldn't fully hide the pained edge to his voice. "Ah, I wish I could've seen your face. Could you imagine if you were actually standing there naked in front of a fucking fag."

He rose to his feet, feeling tears stinging at his eyes. "I should take a shower too, go ahead and play games or watch tv if you want." He was trying his best to hold it together until he was out of the room.

Ken started to laugh at Matt's own comment, a slight tinge of nervousness mixed in. He still was unable to look at his friend. "Haha, yeah, you got me good." He heard the creak of the couch when Matt stood up and walked off towards the bathroom.

It wasn't until the bathroom door closed behind Matt that Ken actually turned around. He stared at the door for what seemed like ten minutes. He collapsed against the couch, arms bracing his head up as he rested it on the cushions. "Damnit...." truth was, he really didn't mind if his friend was gay. Hell, he knew a few other gay guys. It was just the sudden announcement and the fact that it was Matt that made him so surprised and unable to do anything.

With a long sigh Ken stood up and went to fumble through Matt's clothes. Until now it wouldn't have bothered him when he borrowed a pair of clothes. But now it was different. He wondered if it was even a good idea to do so now. He took in a breath and found a pair of pants and a t-shirt that would fit.

When he was done, he went back over to the couch and grabbed a game to pop into the console and the controller. He sat back in the same spot before and started the game. But even as he began the level, he found he had no interest in it at all.

"Fuck!" Matt slammed his fist against the wall as he reached the bathroom. "So fucking stupid.... What was I thinking...?" He stripped off his clothes and got in the shower, fighting the urge to scream in pure frustration.

As Matt was in the shower his phone began to ring. But it wasn't his usual phone which was left out on the bed. Instead it was a sleek black smartphone that was tucked in his dresser drawer. The ringing continued for awhile then stopped as it went to voicemail, but it almost immediately started again.
