His eyes snapped open as the man questioned his intent. “N-no! I-I love you Ezra, even though I know I shouldn't, even though it must disgust you… I always loved you… And I was just stupid enough to think that we could someone be happy together, even though I'm a freak…” “Of course I would accept whatever you wanted to do to me… My mother always said that its a wife’s duty to…” He hesitated for a moment. “T-to satisfy her h-husband no matter how p-painful it may be.” His body shuddered at Ezra’s next request. To show his naked body… The body that he hated more than anything. “Y-yes…” He murmured, trying to keep his voice from shaking. He rose to his feet and shakily removed his clothing piece by piece. By the time he was down to his corset and underwear he was crying quietly. He wasn't trying to gain any sympathy, if anything he was trying to hide his pain. It didn't feel as though he deserved to be treated with any kindness. After a few moments Sage stood fully naked, his body shaking as he kept his head hung in shame. He looked through the corner of his eyes, a flush coloring his cheeks in horror and embarrassment at the fragile form before him. In truth Sage didn't look much like either gender in all his nudity. So many curves and flat planes to confuse his senses. A lovely curtain of hair and big eyes, and between his thighs a member, petite as all else, but a member all the same. It took him a moment to note the crucial absence, but when realized his stomach turned. Ezra moved closer, taking his shirt off and wrapping Sage up in it protectively, no longer wanting to analyze his vulnerable form. "I'm sorry. I should not have... I'm sorry... I'm sorry what was done to you." He wrapped his arms around Sage, trying to ease the shaking of his body. "You are still not disgusting. You are still... my wife." The king looked down at that face, that beautiful face, trying to ease the shock and discomfort. Looking at those emerald eyes, his hand subconsciously reached to caress Sage's cheek. He gently wiped the tears away before leading him to sit on the bed. "I will not do anything to cause you harm. You've... endured so much already. I understand that more now than ever Sage." Before he knew what he was doing he leaned in to kiss his wife. It was still light and soft. But when he pulled back his eyes dropped between the other's thighs and he stood distancing himself. "I will go order a bath to be started. You should be clean and comfortable for rest. Perhaps my request will start rumor that we've consummated our marriage." He tried to give a reassuring smile. He had worried about this moment for so long, about what might happen to him and his family once his husband saw the truth. When he felt Ezra's gentle touch he felt like he might collapse from relief. His soft sobs grew louder, more broken, as he allowed himself to express the terror he had felt. He pressed himself close to Ezra, his entire body shaking. "I-I'm sorry, I-I'm so sorry..." He whimpered through his tears. "I-I never wanted to l-lie to you..." The gentle touch to his cheek brought on a fresh wave of tears. Ezra was so gentle, far more gentle than anything Sage could have hoped for. Sage felt as though his heart would stop at the feeling of Ezra's lips against his own. He melted into the touch, the gesture of love finally stopping his tears. He wished the moment would last forever. But of course it didn't. As Ezra pulled away Sage noticed his eyes dropping between his legs and felt his chest tighten. How could he possibly ask for anything more than this? How could he expect Ezra to actually love him like this? The most he could hope for was that Ezra would be kind enough not to hurt him. Sage dropped his gaze to the floor as he tightly closed his legs and allowed the shirt to lower over his upper thighs. He let out a shaky breath, trying to avoid Ezra’s gaze. A fresh wave of shame washed over him. Was this all that Ezra would see from now on? Had he gone from saying that Sage was the most beautiful person in the world to seeing him as some kind of monstrosity? Sage knew he shouldn’t be surprised, but that didn’t make it hurt any less. “Thank you…” He said, his voice hoarse from crying. One of the guards seemed to signal his understanding and walked off. A moment later a handmaiden knocked on their door. Ezra opened the heavy door and looked her up and down a moment. "I've come to escort the queen to her bath," the girl explained meekly, unable to raise her eyes to meet either of the royals'. "Y-Your highness!" She seemed to nervously stammer, and Ezra couldn't tell if she was newer or just a servant of Sage's he'd yet to meet. Ezra smiled at the young girl. "That is quite alright. I wish to escort my wife myself." His tone was soft and charming. "You may also ask anyone attending the bath to leave as well. It wont be necessary for anyone else to be there." The young girl looked up with concern and confusion, a light blush crossing her face looking at the young king as he continued to smile. Soon the king gave an insistant look, leading the girl to hurry off in the direction she came. "Only your gown will be necessary," he spoke, turning around picking up Sage's gown. "I'm sure you'll find a bath quite soothing. Your nerves still seem... strained." He offered his hand out to Sage in order to lead him to his feet. "I will be the only one looking or touching you, at least for tonight." His voice was deep and firm, but not enirely rough. Seeing her stand by Ezra just reminded Sage of how wrong it was for him to be with the king. Ezra deserved someone cute and small, a real woman instead of… Whatever Sage was. He averted his eyes at the sight of the girl’s blush. How could he have been so stupid as to think that he could make Ezra happy? “S-should I put on a r-robe or something?” Sage asked softly, his voice trembling. He was hesitant to take the man’s hand, but did after a moment. He stood up, barely putting any weight on Ezra’s hand as he did. “I’m sorry….” He murmured. “I don’t mean to question you too much.” He delicately pushed his feet into the slippers. “A-and if you don’t want to be around me then my personal maid k-knows about…” He trailed off for a moment. “About me…” His eyes shut tightly as he forced himself to take a deep breath. “I’m s-sorry… I just… I k-know you must h-hate me.” Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He looked at the person who was his bride, eyes certain to show a level of pain and confusion despite his firm words. "We'll get you into a soothing bath. Just you and I, alright?" Despite making it a question, Ezra started to move with purpose and lead Safe down to another quarter with a bathing run within, the same he used. Stepping closer he touched the water. "Its very warm." His eyes seemed to admire the familiar decor of the room, as though seeing things for the first time. "Are you ready then? There are scents we can apply." A small smile spread over his lips. We extract very lovely smells soaking the flowers in oils." Still with a small smile and his saddened eyes he looked at Sage. He hung his head in shame and held the jacket tightly around his body in an attempt to hide his form. When Ezra moved to leave the room Sage began to follow him at a short distance. He stopped just inside the bathroom and watched Ezra look around. His chest tightened at the way Ezra looked around, he seemed so sad. This was supposed to be such a happy day for the king, but Sage had ruined it. Sage looked away, trying to avoid eye contact with his new husband. “I… That visit made me so happy…” He said in barely a whisper. “You were so kind to me. It felt like a dream.” He lightly bit his lip and tightened his grip on the jacket. “I’m so sorry… I’m sorry that I thought I could make you h-happy…” “Ah…” Sage covered his face with his hand. “I’m sorry, I keep wallowing in my own self hatred…” He finally looked up at Ezra, his eyes wet with tears. “A-are you sure you want to bathe with me..?
