Chase turned his head to look at the Captain. He was glad it was just them so they could talk about what was going on. He didn't like being in the dark about any situation so with this he was desperately looking for answers to help them.

Frowning at hearing what the Captain had to say on this, he looked down at his tablet then back to the Captain, "if they lied to us then I wouldn't blame you. You were doing what you believed to be right and there's no shame in that." He tucked the tablet back into his bag. "That makes those who told you want to do at fault."

Turning back to the Captain he frowned, "who can we contact to find out about this Star of Veils? If it was something our superiors are covering up then they won't give it up bloody easily." He knew searching through the files on base for just that wouldn't give them much information. He'd have to find out in the enclosed secret archives which he didn't have access to. Not yet anyway.

"If my hunch is entirely correct, then we are going into this battle all wrong." He clenched his right fist then held it near his chin. "We're only going to set off a war and upset an enemy that could have easily been made ally." He sighed, just what on earth was truly going on? Chase was right, he knew that, but he couldn't just storm the offices demanding they tell him the truth. He needed evidence. And possibly even time.

Jaye handed Chase the headset he used as the other packed away his tablet. He wasn't going to lie, he was actually glad to have a 'hacker' on his current team. Then Chase spoke, asking the question Jaye was asking himself. He let out a small snort, thinking how ironic it was they both thought of the same question at the same time. "Well," Jaye thought a moment. Who did he know? And then it hit him. One of the recruits he graduated with was now working in the archives. He owed him a favor anyway, so he figured they'd start there. "I got it. Let's go."

Instantly Jaye started heading off towards the archives. It felt like forever trying to get off the ship, seeing how she was just so big, but eventually they did. Streets were deathly quiet. A straggler or two still roaming around. He took off at a brisk walk in the Galax, here on the streets he could run. And with no one for him to bump into, he found that good. He took of jogging first, but his hopes in finding out the truth sent him running towards the archives. Breathing heavily to catch his breath he now stood at the entrance of the archives. "Ready?" He turned to Chase in a breathy voice.

Chase felt his heart leap up in his chest. It was at that moment he realized just how handsome this man was. Swallowing he wondered why that thought stuck with him. He never considered himself gay... or straight for that matter. He hadn't really been in too many relationships since he became obsessed with learning everything he could to get into the academy. Without coming from a famous or wealthy house it was hard for him to come up with the money to get in so all his time went into this place.

Nodding his head he quickly followed after the Captain. Since he was used to running far from training and with a lot of weight on him he didn't mind the run but it did have him breathing heavily with the Captain by the time they reached there. It was eerie seeing the streets so empty but good too. This was people wouldn't be out to get hurt if the fight came here.

Looking to the Captain with his fiery eyes he nodded his head, "yes, Captain." His heart just a little extra thump and really being able to say that and really working with his Captain.

Jaye nodded in response once and opened the door. Luckily it was still unlocked, which meant someone was still here and openly advertising he was ready for a fight. Jaye opened the door and walked in, expecting a gun or something to be pointed right at him. In fact it would have gotten to that point if Jaye didn't call out right away. "Darron, its Dasdan. I need your help." Darron, the graduate that had spent time with Jaye stepped out, his own personally built weapon slightly dropping. "Damn man, I coulda shot ya!" Jaye let a smile form on his lips. "You'd know the enemy were here by the sounds of their ships in the sky." Darron thought of that for a moment and put down his gun. Not first before looking at Riley. "Recruit. Graduated. Now training with me. He's fine." Jaye gave a very simple explanation as to why Riley was there with him.

"Listen Darron we need your help. I need to look at the records from the time we went to war with the armada before now. It's important that we see it now before they reach us." Jaye pleaded with his old comrade, hoping he wouldn't ask too many questions or say no. He looked at the both of them before sighing. "To be honest those files are in the classified shelves. I've always wondered why. We went there to get back something that was stolen right? Why would it need to be classified?" He started leading them back towards the right shelves in search for the file.

"That's just it. There's something about the attack that has me really second guessing it. I need to find out exactly what happened there. I'm sure you have the same feeling too." Jaye softly mentioned as Darron's hands stopped for a moment in his search. That gave Jaye the hope he needed. If even Darron second guessed the attack, then that meant more to the story behind it. But once they found it then what? Report it straight to the officials? Demand why they lied about it? That part he still had to work out. For now, he'd take it a step at a time.

Chase followed in behind him and looked at Darron a little surprised. Inspecting the weapon he hummed softly seeing what some of the mods were on it. This man must be really good at altering weapons. That was certainly good to know.

At the slight introduction he waved at the other man, "Hello."

As the others were searching Chase kept scanning their data base. There had to be more there than what he was seeing, "even if we find something who are we going to tell? We can't broadcast something like that to the people, they will rebel. It would just be something we can go get ourselves or..."

His voice trailed off for a moment while he clicked on a certain file and started to read it, "Star of Veils also known as the never ending sun. Little is known about how powerful this device is. Being unable to study it from up close we were unable to see if it would help advance our own world. It would be nice if they would allow us to harness some of it's power." He sighed. "That's an old personal email from... whose Karen Waterford? The signature on the email only has a phone number and her name. There's a few more emails in here too."

Jaye and Darron had turned down a small alley of shelving in search of what they were looking for. It was still close enough to the front desk where they first met Darron, so Jaye was still able to hear Chase speaking when he had hopped onto the computer system. Jaye could see how Darron tensed by the intrusion of his space, but Jaye quickly thwarted him when he quietly explained to him how easy it was for Chase to find information they would need. And with the way Darron had always been, he was still computer illiterate. So he agreed to letting Chase use the computer.

Jaye was searching the shelves when Chase called out. "No, we won't be able to do something so easy. And perhaps even going to our own government won't help." He shivered at the next thought he got. But it would be the only way he could possibly think of getting the information out there. "I think we might have too tell the arma-" his voice trailed off when Chase started mumbling to himself. Clearly he had found something. Leaving Darron for a moment to see what he had found, he heard him saying something about a Karen Waterford. Jaye leaned over Chase's shoulder to read what he was reading. Personal emails, like he said. But he couldn't think of who the names belonged too. "The name sounds familiar. Darron, know of any Karen Waterford?" Jaye called to his friend.

Darron came power walking back down from the other end of the shelf alley. "Heard the name from somewhere....wait, isn't she that over pompous science director for the governments own personal lab?" He thought momentarily, fingers on chin. "Oh and uh, don't tell anyone I know about that lab." Jaye smiled at his friend for a moment, one brow raised with a mocking look. Then patted his friend on the back. Not before patting Chase on the shoulder. "Good job soldier. That got us one step closer."

The pat on the shoulder drew Chase out of his little world and focused on his Captain, "thank you, Captain." There came the auto response but it still felt really good to be able to help him. Golden hazel eyes studied his Captain up close again. This powerful and brave man was one he could see many following into battle. That explained why he was Captain and so sought after to work under.

Looking over to Darron and back to the Captain his eyes trailed back down to the tablet, "it's encrypted but I could find out more information about her location. Or at least where this message was sent from. It won't be able to tell me much more than that. Not sure we should go there anyway unless there someone else who can help us there."

"Wait did you almost say tell the armada?!" Chase's head snapped back up as he processed everything he'd heard around him while he was working. His eyes were wide as he stared at his Captain. "I don't know, Captain. That sounds a bit brash? But-... hmmm... these men were responsible in the past. Maybe we could but I'd fear they'd turn against us Cap."

Jaye stood with his hand to his chin. What exactly were they going to do once they found out where it was? He looked back at Chase as he mentioned the encryption. "Find her location. We won't be able to get there easily, I'm sure by now where ever it is, it's heavily guarded. Find out who sent that message as well. There could be a good chance they acted on their own or under another. We need to find out what their plan was with stealing this item." He was about to say something more to Darren when Chase suddenly cried out. Apparently it had just now occurred to him what Jaye had just said.

"I agree that it's not the best choice, but it might be our only. If it comes down to it, then I'll go alone. I'd need people here that I can trust. If the armada do turn against us.....well, at least I'd be the only casualty. And that would leave you two to still find out what to do." He looked back at Chase, a serious look on his face.

"I know this isn't a good plan. But I need you two to trust me if it comes to this." He looked between the two, he was dead serious about this plan. However it wasn't his ultimate choice, if they had an easier way then he'd take it. He just wasn't sure what else to do at the current situation.

Sorry this took so long. The holidays were brutal at home and at work >.

"I wouldn't leave you to fly on your own Captain," Chase looked at his Captain for a moment. The man was brave sure, but he felt that was a really stupid plan. It might work but it was basically suicide without the item with him. Looking back at his tablet he went typing away for a moment then his brow furrowed.

"Karen Waterford, aka First executive officer?" Chase continued to read on. "She's in the Starfleet... a ship called Star Command One. She's light-years away from here!" He sighed heavily. "Can we talk to them? Let them know we know where it is we just need more time? Their thing is... shit, how far away is that? At least a month in hyperspace away." He wasn't good at estimating time travel in space.

Jaye let a sincere smile cross his lips as Chase commented about him going alone. He was glad for the support of this recruit. He was sure he'd be rewarded with high respect from all the others after this was all done. He looked around the room for a moment in thought while Chase went back to his tablet. True his plan wasn't the best, but if he could be the only casualty in this battle, he was willing to take it. He couldn't let chase come with him. He'd need him here.

It was when Chase found the information that Jaye snapped out of his thoughts. "Karen....Waterford....damn..." he said with a heavy sigh. "I knew there was something fishy about Command One leaving in such random circumstances. She made sure her ship wasn't anywhere close to our planet and the oncoming war it was going to have." He paced back and forth, thumb and forefinger to his chin. He shook his head from side to side a few times before stopping.

"Chase..." he pointed at the tablet and then looked at the recruit. "Can you do personal video calls on that thing? I have a plan that may be able to deter the Armada away from us. I need you to send a personal video call to the Command One. Then right after to the Armada."

Chase watched his captain pace wondering what he had in mind now. Then when he heard his question and comments his stomach did a flop. Hacking directly into Command One could get him court martialed, but hacking into an alien ship was a whole other story.

"Command One is the easy part," Chase looked back down at the tablet then reached back into his bag pulling out a charger. "I'm down to fifty percent battery." He chuckled softly at how real and big this moment then. Plugging into the wall he went back to typing. Just that moment to really take this moment in had his hands shaking a little. It took him an extra five minutes to finally break in through the earth towers to the ship.

"There," holding the tablet towards the captain he could see the camera was on. "The moment you hit that red button you'll be live on their bridge of Command One."

"Let's just take it a step at a time, shall we?" He asked as Chase passed him the tablet. Jaye wasn't big on technology but after some explanation he was usually able to get a hold of it. Jaye held the tablet and before pressing the red button he looked at Chase with a smile and shrug of his shoulder. Then he pressed the button.

There were three rings as if it was connecting then a brief set of beeps before a voice came over. They had accepted the call, voice only.

"You have contacted the Command One. We have reason to belief you are using unauthorized accounts to transmit a call to us. Identify yourself now." The female voice demanded. "This is Captain Jaye Dasdan. I request a video call with Karen Waterford." It was quiet for a moment before the voice came back. "We have no reason to accept your request without knowing why your calling." Jaye knew the procedure. But it still annoyed him.

"Subject is confidential. But if you tell her it's in regards to the armada I'm sure she will agree to the message." It was quiet again before a female voice came back, a different female voice. "Voice call being accepted on a private line. Bare patients." Once again it fell silent before the video call was finally accepted and Karen Waterford came through on the other line.

Chase watched him and listened to his voice. He didn't realize he was staring at him. He was like watching an amazing war hero at work, calculating, commanding. It sent a shiver through him, he was glad he was on this mans side.

On the line there was a long pause until a woman finally spoke, "I don't know who you think you are, but contacting through such a line is dangerous and unprofessional. I'll have your badge for this." She sounded older and very very angry with this call. "I assure you our top men are already on the issue with the armada, since that's why you called."

Chase wondered with how she responded if she knew about it, but then again she could have been a good actor, he wasn't sure. He really hoped they wouldn't loose their jobs just because of this call. Of course stress was high with an armada knocking at their door.

Jaye frowned at the woman's tone of speech and shrugged with a sigh. "Take my badge if you must. But one way or another I'm finding out the truth." He waited for Karen's expression to change. A slight flinch and she stood stoic again. "I'm sure your best men are on the issue. I'm pretty sure my crew might be those part of it. But I can assure you they are not on the real issue at hand." Jaye lowered the tablet so that it was leaning against something on the desk. Now all three of them were able to be seen and see her.

"Karen enough with the charades. You know exactly why the Armada have come here, don't you?" His voice was harsh. More demanding then it had been all night. He saw another flinch, and something pass through her eyes before she tried to cover it up. She had a very good act. No wonder she remained as Command One's personnel.
