"Humans are fragile creatures....It's Quite Pitiful."

Tsuki-Yumi sat under a tree, contemplating as to what to do with the young lad that had been occupying his space for some time now. It had been only four days since the villagers came up to his domain with a young man in hand and offered the man to him as a sacrifice. Recalling the whole incident made Tsuki want to laugh, it was amusing to see that Humans would go to such lengths to please those who are higher than them, even giving up another persons life. But that was sacrifice, giving one mans potential life away for the sake of the rest. As Tsuki has studied so far the Human that was left at his doorstep seemed more than willing to sacrifice himself because he had stayed within the domain for four whole days, receiving fruit from the trees and drinking water from a nearby river. The raven haired God expected that the man would have left his domain to find shelter in another village, no one was around to keep him from doing so. Maybe the boy thought he was accomplishing something by sacrificing himself to a God, that his home would be spared from the drought that the God had been causing. To be honest Tsuki-Yumi had not been giving the villagers rain for their crops because he was bored, he didn't plan to deprive them of rain for long but Immortal men sometimes lose track of time and neglect their duties.

The young man was quite fetching with his golden eyes and his slim physique, his hair however could have been more prim and his lips seemed to lack color. Tsuki-Yumi wondered what exactly the Humans expected him to do with the man, it had been a long time since Gods devoured Human Sacrifices. No, more recently these Human Sacrifices have been seen as giving the Human's hand in marriage to the God but why would he want to be bothered with taking responsibility over a mortal man. Tsuki sighed softly as he stood up from the grass, watching the young man climb into a tree to pick some peaches for lunch. Tsuki wondered if the young man felt worried that no God had come to retrieve him, the drought was still in place so maybe the Human had begun to believe he was being rejected or soon would come to believe this. He wouldn't be wrong for thinking so, Tsuki-Yumi wasn't looking to keep a Human company or to share a bed with the man. At some point he would have to confront this Human, frighten him off or he could simply wait for the man to go away on his own but that seemed like it would happen later rather than sooner.

The raven haired God approached the tree the young man had climbed up, he watched from below as the golden eyed man picked peaches from the branches and placed them in the folds of his shirt. Tsuki grinned to himself for a moment before kicking the tree and causing the young Human to lose his balance. Yes it was mean but Tsuki didn't let the Human hit the ground, instead he caught the pale man in his arms, a total of 6, as the peaches he had picked smashed to the ground. And with that touch, that skin on skin contact, it allowed the Human to finally see the God that had been so observant of him since the day he came and trespassed into his domain.

"Human, you should be more careful...It's not like you have more than one life to live." He did not say these words with care, there was no hint of compassion in his voice. Instead he said it quite blatantly and grinned, almost amused by the fact that Humans were so weak in nature. It was obvious Tsuki-Yumi felt superior in every way to the young man, he was a God after all and the young man was just a Human. "You are only mortal."

Zander was honored to be chosen as the human sacrifice. While he hadn't planned on becoming one, and the villagers were somewhat against sacrificing one of their own, the ongoing drought had made the humans desperate. With their previous offerings being an obvious waste, producing nothing from the sky, they were left to assume that the God wanted something more. Thus, Zander, their human sacrifice, was their last resort. Before choosing who to sacrifice, however, the villagers had gotten together to vote on the matter. No one knew what type of mortal the God would like, or even if he would accept a mortal, but they knew they had to try. In the end, it was unanimously agreed upon that Zander—young, attractive, and unimportant—would be sacrificed. He was loyal enough to not leave them disappointed, and, without him, the village would still be the same.

Immediately following the meeting, the villagers targeted Zander. He hadn't been with them during the gathering, but he was right outside the door. Several women attacked him, charged with the duty of making him presentable to the God. The sacrifice was bathed, clothed, and escorted to his destination all within the same day. He wore a transparent, white silk shirt, with a bright red, silk cloth wrapped around his waist. White was for purity and red for romance, both which were fitting for a human sacrifice to wear. The sooner he was offered and the more attractive he was, the sooner the possibility of the drought going away. His escorts didn’t even wait for the God to appear before they left, leaving him to fend for himself.

Zander stayed outside of the new village he was brought to, not wanting to disturb the God who lived there. He didn't know much about being a human sacrifice, but he knew he had to wait to be seen before he was accepted. Being a sacrifice required a lot of patience, which he was proud to have. He would satisfy the needs of his village, no matter how many days it took. For several days, Zander occupied his time near the river and climbing trees. Wherever he went, he always stayed close to the village, in case the God appeared. He still had hope that he would show, not wanting to believe he was alone. On the day he had decided to pick peaches, hidden within the tree branches as he picked them, he fell into the arms of a God.

Zander let out a squeak when the tree shook and forced him to lose his footing. He closed his eyes tightly, expecting to meet with the ground. However, met with a softer impact, he cracked open an eye, then opened both. He had been caught by some immortal being, possibly the God he had been waiting for. While he couldn't be certain if it was the God, having never seen him before, there was no mistaking the number of arms he had. He couldn't turn his head to count them all, but he could feel them holding him. Before he had time to greet this immortal, to state his name, and say why he was here, the older man spoke, with an obvious dissatisfaction. What he said confirmed he was in the presence of someone superior, but, no matter how superior he was, the mortal didn't appreciate him pointing that out.

"I was being careful," Zander snapped, squirming in the hold of the many arms, "Until you came along." There was no reason for him to be knocked out of that tree. No excuse could justify what the God haddid. Of course, he had planned to catch him, but what if he had missed? He only had one life to live, being mortal and all, as it was emphasized to him. He was no cat, either. He didn't have the ability to twist his body in midair and land on his feet without breaking his legs. "I don't know who you are, but I'm not here for you fool around with." Zander quickly dismissed any thought of this man being his God. The God he was waiting for wouldn't treat him in such a way. At least, that was his image of him. He wouldn't appear out of nowhere without some greeting. He wouldn't point out the obvious flaw of being human. "Now, if you would kindly put me down, I need to collect the peaches you made me drop."

"You certainly have a big mouth on you...but I will do as you ask of me, Human." Without hesitation Tsuki dropped the pale young man, letting him fall to the ground with an amused look on his face. The Human had asked to be put down and it would be a lie if anyone said Tsuki had not been reasonable, he had let him down after all. Zander, the young man who had been waiting so diligently for his God to appear before him and obeyed to become His sacrifice for the sake of others, was quite rude compared to how he had been acting for the last few days. Then again the last few days the young man had believed he was completely isolated from other people and the God he had been so patiently waiting for had knocked him off a tree.

Tsuki-Yumi grinned as he swept his hair back and looked down towards the Human he had just dropped from his hands. "I believe an introduction is in order, Human." The raven haired God knelt down in front of Zander, grabbing the young man by his chin and pulling his face to look at him. His gestures were not elegant, they were not meant to be charming but forceful. To let the Human understand their place of course, he was in the presence of a God and needed to be reminded of that since Zander's manners seemed to have disappeared. "My name is Tsuki-Yumi, I'm the immortal being who lives around here, but others tend to call me God." While holding the mans chin in place tightly, he examined his face to see any interesting changes in the mans expression.

"Now, you present yourself quite nicely with that silk outfit...But your attitude is rather distasteful, was this the best your village had to offer to a God?" A few of his hands went to caress and feel the silk shirt that Zander was wearing, "How pitiful. You Human's have lost your manners over the centuries." Tsuki-Yumi was intrigued to see how Zander would react to him now, maybe beg for forgiveness for the sake of his village. The God was apparently not at all what the Human expected, perhaps too cruel.

There was nothing to cushion Zander, this time, when he hit the ground. No hands were beneath him to catch him, only grass and dirt. It shocked the mortal to be treated in such a manner, roughly and uncared for. Even though he was a mortal, he still had his rights. For example, the right to not be dropped. He had explicitly used the word “kindly” to be “kindly put down,” but what the God did was the exact opposite. Being dropped was extremely unkind and unpleasant. It also made his body sore, which was why he chose to stay on the ground. There was no point in getting up knowing he would fall back down. Plus, he didn’t expect the immortal to stay long. He had made it known to him that he was waiting for someone else, and, now, after the God had dropped him, he expected him to leave. The sacrifice didn’t want his God to think he belonged to another.

However, instead of leaving, the God knelt before him. He pulled at his chin, to which Zander unsuccessfully resisted, and forced him to lock eyes. The words he spoke went in one ear and out the other. The short introduction he made was quick to be forgotten. Zander purposefully didn’t listen to him as an act of defiance. He didn’t care who this God was, but he was certain he wasn’t the God he was being sacrificed to. He had to be tricking him, wanting to scare him, perhaps, out of jealousy. It wasn’t common for a God to receive a human sacrifice. Maybe this God, whoever he introduced himself as, was jealous. Maybe he wanted him as his own sacrifice, which Zander wouldn’t allow. He wasn’t his property. “I already told you,” the human, once again, tried to pull out of his grip, “I’m not here for you.”

The more hands that touched Zander, the more he struggled to get free, using his own hands to push away the hands of the God. He already dirtied the color of his shirt by climbing trees and tore pieces of the fabric by getting caught in the branches. He didn’t want the God to damage it anymore, especially because of its symbolic importance. “What does it matter who my village sacrifices? You’re not the one receiving the gifts, are you?” Zander narrowed his eyes at the immortal, still not understanding the situation he was in and how grave of a mistake he had made. If only he had paid more attention to what the God was saying, then he would show more appreciation to him, only because his village expected to him. Stubborn as he was, though, Zander was stuck to believe that the God he was talking to was not who he was waiting for.

“How dare you say that! We haven’t lost our manners. We’re still loyal to the God who sent us this drought.” It didn’t help that there was a drought in the first place, but the village was still dependent on the overseer of the land. No matter what happened, they didn’t abandon their God. A human sacrifice was enough to prove that. Being in the hands of a God who he thought had nothing to do with the drought and could easily offend his village made Zander hit one of the six arms in angry. “Let me go already!’ He demanded as he tilted his chest away to stop the extra touches to his shirt. “If you stay here any longer, the God won’t know that I’ve been sacrificed.”

Tsuki-Yumi was impressed that the young man had the courage or ignorance to continue to defy an immortal being with more power than the Human could even imagine. "Calm down Human, I'm only doing what you want me to." The cruel God continued to touch the Human as he liked even though the Human clearly wanted nothing to do with Tsuki and was desperately trying to resist his grasp but Zander was His to play with so Tsuki would only do as he likes with the boy.

"You're quite the delusional little Man. Has all my words gone through one ear and out the other in that simple head of yours?" Tsuki grabbed the defiant Human by his forearm with two hands, picking himself up off the ground and then lifting the Human into the air. Zanders feet only hovered above the ground by a few inches, the Gods eyes locked with Zanders as he grabbed his chin once again to force him to look in his direction. "Listen, making a God repeat themselves is hardly showing any loyalty or courtesy. If I have to repeat myself a third time I will break one of your arms." His eyes pierced through Zanders and no ounce of sympathy or pity could be detected from those dark eyes, Tsuki was not grinning with amusement either. This time if the Human wanted to annoy him then he would be punished, Tsuki would break one of his arms like he had said.

The raven haired God released is grip on the Human and let him stand on his own two feet, he gave Zander only seconds to adjust before Tsuki pushed the Human against the peach tree. "There is no other God here to acknowledge your beauty or to save your village from that drought because I am the one who rules over this land, no one else and you better start recognizing that Human." He stood tall as he looked down towards the Man, a hand fondling strands of Zanders hair and then another touching his side while his eyes stared tauntingly at the young man. He only touched the Human because he wanted to make sure that Zander knew he could do anything he liked to the Man, he was His after all. "I am the God you have been so desperately waiting for boy, I hope I haven't discouraged you."

The God let his hands draw away from Zanders body, he stepped back to let the Human breathe. "I guess a pet could be entertaining....Human, I'll take you as my sacrifice but for now your village will continue to suffer the drought. That is the price for your own incompetence and rudeness. But don't weep just yet, you'll have chances to persuade me back at your new home." Tsuki-Yumi wondered if Zander was going to cry, his purpose to give up his own life to a God was to save his village from suffering and now the God has told him that he would take his life but not hold his end of the deal. His sacrifice had been pointless thus far.

Zander held his breath out of fear and out of the sudden realization of his mistake. How could he have done such a thing?! He had mistaken this God for some free roaming immortal being. The thought hadn’t even crossed his mind that this man could have been his God, the one who his village had prepared him for. This time, as the God spoke, Zander listened to his every word. Even as he was lifted from his feet, not a squeak came out of him. The shock of his mistake stunned him. He had to think of a quick solution. A simple apology would be too easy.

Once returned to the ground, Zander stayed frozen in his spot, only to be pushed back against the tree behind him. The God continued to shatter his ignorance, making it known to him who he now belonged to. There was no repeating his mistake this time. He was in full possession of the God before him. No matter how much he disagreed with what he said, he couldn't say it. He no longer had the power to, although he never really had the power to begin with. He had to play along with his every word. He had to act as though he admired him. He had to beg for his forgiveness, pretend that he was sorry, without any feelings of remorse.

"Wait!" Zander rushed out as soon as the God pulled away from him, "You can't do that." Well, he could, but it wouldn't be fair to leave his village in a drought, yet accept him as a sacrifice. "Don't punish my village for what I did. I really didn't expect you to show up after—" He cut off his own words, not wanting to make the situation worse. It's not that he hadn’t expected him to show up, but he couldn't understand why the God would treat him in such a way after neglecting him for several days. He imagined the God greeting him in a kindly manner. Instead, he was much more forceful than the human anticipated. The image he had of the God was ruined, which was why he snapped the way he did. He didn't mean to offend the immortal, especially during the drought. He was sent to have him send rain, not to completely dry up the land.

Now, Zander was trying to think of ways to make up for his actions. He didn't want to do it at his new home, although the God wanted him to, because he wasn't fond of the idea of becoming a pet. Of course, if there was no other way to convince him that he was truly apologetic for his mishap, he would have to. He would try to stall as long as possible, though, to prevent that from happening. "If I'm not to your liking, my village can always send someone else." Zander spoke eagerly, as if that was the solution to his problem, taking a step forward from the trunk. "All you have to do is tell them your preference and they'll be happy to prepare another man or woman." The village would be disappointed in their previous sacrifice, but, at least, the God would be satisfied. Zander would also have to find another place live, but that was a small price to pay compared to having water for the land.

"However, if you would like to keep me, I'll do anything you ask of me." He didn't really mean anything, but he wanted the other to believe it. He had to sound willing or he risked upsetting the God again, and he didn't want to happen. "Before I get to my new home, though, I want to hear the things you have in mind." Zander wanted to know what to expect before the God ordered him around. He couldn't picture the things the immortal might have him do, and he didn't want to. Whatever it may be, he definitely wouldn't like it. "Please do as you wish, Tsu..." Zander turned his head away as his voice trailed off. "Tsu..." He tried again, but was, still, unable to finish the God’s name. If only he had been paying attention earlier, then he wouldn't be making another mistake. He could remember the beginning pronunciation of his name, but not the rest. "Just do as you wish." Zander whispered, his focus turned away from the God.

"You can't do that."

Tsuki raised an eyebrow as he looked at the shorter man and allowing his left arms to rest on his hip as he let the human continue to dig himself deeper into his own grave, obviously entertained that he was trying to beg now. The human man could go on and on about how sorry he was or promise the God anything but it wouldn't change a thing. The man already belonged to him, according to himself, and Zander was far too weak to do anything about his situation. He would just have to play nice and not anger Tsuki too much. "You're foolishly entertaining to listen to Human, a bit annoying though." The raven haired God wrapped two arms around Zander, forcefully making him move in the direction He demanded and even at His pace.

"Hm~ My name is Tsuki-Yumi, the God of the Moon, but of course I am more than that to you~ I bring fortune sometimes & sometimes misfortune to this land & its inhabitants. Like the little village you used to belong to, which will still suffer until I say so." Tsuki led the man away from the trees and towards the abandoned village where the God roamed, more specifically he led Zander to the temple at the edge of the village where he lived. The temple was created in honor of himself, built by humans who could have been Zander's great-great-great-grandparents. "Now let us go home Human, I want to go relax so no more of your whining." Tsuki tugged the human man along with a firm grip, it wasn't very necessary since he knew Zander wouldn't resist him any longer but he tended to be more cruel than nurturing. The man had no choice in the matter, he belonged to Tsuki - at least for now until the God became sick of the Humans presence which wouldn't be too far along.

Tsuki-Yumi opened the door to his temple, releasing his tight grip of Zander to let the man roam around the entrance room if he wished to do so but he didn't let him wander for too long. "So Human...Do you have a name or would you prefer I give you a pet name?" The God grinned as he leaned closer to the man, wondering what course of action Zander would take next.

Koen found his lover lying about in the fields, where he had left him, resting his eyes, he had left the immortal man to take leisure in the fields to attend to the villagers near by. The monk spoke with the elders of the village to learn of their situation, as troubling as it was he'd have to go see the God watching over the village to see why the God might be displeased with his people as to deprive them of rain. The green haired man stood over the scaled God, admiring how beautiful the man looked surrounded by nature and how his scales shone when the sun lavished him. "Will you be getting up anytime soon my love?" He said teasingly as he nudged the immortal man with his foot, when he saw that Vedborh was not going to move he decided to join him for just a moment. Koen lied down next to the other with his face turned to the side and his eyes wide open, he wanted to continue watching his lover in his peaceful state.

Koen began brushing his fingers through his lovers soft hair, playing with the others hair as he waited for him to open his eyes. "Vedborh, I love you." The man retracted his hand, grinning as he swiftly moved to press his lips against the immortals for a moment. "Ah, do you think you can make it rain here Vedborh? But that might be something too much to ask of you, Gods do tend to be territorial." Koen sat up on the ground as he focused again on the villagers drought, messing with the back of his hair to make sure nothing got in it. "I guess we'll have to go to him in person but you Gods always want to make things more difficult than they have to be....Vedborh, are you coming with me or are you just going to nap all day? I can meet you back here when I return from work if that's what you'd prefer."

Zander flinched at the touch of the God, then unwillingly let himself be pushed towards the village. There was little he could do now to help his situation and, even though he didn’t agree with what Tsuki-Yumi was doing, he knew better than to start a fight. He was a weakling compared to the God, inferior in position and lacking the strength that came with immortality. He had tried to talk his way out of his mistake, but the mistake was beyond repair. The God made it clear to him that there was nothing more he could do except follow him, and that was what he did, albeit reluctantly.

"Tsuki-Yumi," Zander whispered under his breath, "God." He repeated the same nouns multiple times, unable to hide the shock in his voice. No matter how many times he said his name or his title, the shock was still there. "Tsuki-Yumi," he ended off his whispering once they reached the temple. Saying his name was just as distasteful as hearing it.

Zander stood frozen in the entrance room of his new home. Slowly, he moved away from the God and reached out his hand to touch the closest pillar. The sudden coolness from the concrete on his fingertips made him pull his hand away. Everything was eye-catching, from the marble flooring to the decorative ceiling, including the pillars. He wasn't satisfied with just admiring the room with his eyes. He wanted to touch everything too, but he was cautious. The safest, and closest, thing for him to touch right now was the pillar.

Zander reached out his hand toward the concrete again and instinctively pushed himself against the structure when he heard the God speak. Knowing that the immortal could hurt him whenever he wanted to, he was afraid. It wasn't the question that caught him off guard, but how close Tsuki was to him. He didn't like how the God kept closing the gap between them. It didn't make him feel comfortable, especially after the God had threatened him.

"Name?" Zander debated whether he should tell it to him or take on a pet name. He didn't prefer the latter over the first option, but he didn't want to give Tsuki the satisfaction of hearing his name just yet. Plus, he didn't think the God actually cared. "I'll take on a pet name." The human stepped his way around the pillar, his front still pressed against the concrete. With the pillar now shielding him from the God, Zander focused his attention on the patterned marble floor. "What would you like me to call you?" He genuinely asked, not wanting to call him by his name without permission. "God?"

Vedborth fell asleep easily in the fields. All he had to do was close his eyes and he was dreaming. He wasn't the type of God to abandon his duties, but this was his lover. He had to follow him. It was his self-proclaimed duty to. Plus, the only land he oversaw was a forest. He was there to protect the animals and the plants, being the God of Nature. On rare occasions, he was worshiped for luck before a hunt or for a way out by someone who got lost. He was somewhat of a lesser God to humans, but just as important as any other God.

Although Vedborth did not like waking up, he was not a heavy sleeper. He could easily be woken, but the difficult part was getting him up. Feeling a kick to his side, the God did not stir. He knew it was his lover because he was familiar with his voice. He remained silent, unmoving, as he listened to Koen. From the moment he stepped on the territory, he knew why the villagers had called for help. It was obvious they were suffering from a drought. The air was dry, the land barren, and the heat overbearing. It was clear the God of this land had neglected his territory. Now, the villagers wanted Koen to find out why.

Vedborth opened his eyes upon feeling a touch to his lips. He was unhappy, himself, that his lover was struggling to find a solution. He was right that he would have to confront the God in person, but he wouldn't be doing it alone. The immortal had every intention of accompanying him. "My dear," Vedborth cooed, trying to calm him, "I wish I could make it rain here, but my territory doesn't extend to this land." Interfering with a territory that was not his own would be a declaration of war against the God who owned it. Gods had unwritten social contracts that humans, even Koen, could not fully understand.

Vedborth rolled onto his side to face his lover, casually outstretched his arm, and pushed Koen on the ground. With the human forced on his back, the taller man positioned his body over the other. "I love making things difficult, though, especially when I'm with you." He pressed his lips against the neck of the man underneath him, planting a light kiss. "Are you ready to go?" He murmured against the pale skin. "Or do you still need time to relax?" Vedborth ran a hand down the front of his lover, then stopped to grab his hip and forcefully pulled their bodies together.
