Noise Prince
"Alright, thank you," Matsuo smiled, and quickly found something of interest in the book once given the opportunity. He pulled out a delicate looking trinket of a glass bird, but it was heavier than he expected, and even sturdy on the frail-looking feathery details. He found a small card that had fallen off of it, that described it as Listener Crystal. He wondered if the bird shape was merely decorative. His mother had a few of these at home, but none of them were shaped like anything particularly. Depending on its strength and activation spell, they could 'remember' everything they heard around a certain period of time. It was useful for speaking out loud about things you'd need to recall later. Getting the exact information desired could be a tricky task, though, since the basic boiling technique would reveal the entire memory. He could tell it was completely blank, it seemed absolutely new, but the box looked like a collection of miscellaneous things, likely pre-owned, so it could still have trace memories, depending. He knew he couldn't truly test it until later so he set it aside, just as a sharp burst of color lit from Aikawa's hand and he cursed, dropping the heavy wand. "It burned you?" He asked, though it was obvious. Still, it was shocking for a wand to misdirect like this. Fortuantely it wasn't worse, though, a dysfunctional wand with a fire spell could cause serious damage. He wondered it this was common, if they frequently got questionable goods like the wand.
GayYaoiPrince
"Ah- yeah, it did." Aikawa replied, bending down to pick up the now cooling wand "I'll have to give it to my uncle, maybe I'm not strong enough for this spell or its just broken? either way he'll have to do something with it" he sighed, placing it next to the box of goods "Haven't you found anything that interests you?" he questioned, already looking through the box for the next thing for him to try. This time he took out a rod of sorts, it was long and metal with a round ball at the end and a rubber handle, thankfully it did have a card unlike the wand "Simple enough." he stated after reading the given card. Once again he was out in the open space to test another item, he would have to say anything for this one, all that had to be done was squeeze down hard on the handle and point the ball of the rod wherever you desire. Following the instructions, Ai squeezed the handle and the rod began to shock, *Swoosh* he moved it through the air and pointed it towards the ground, lightning shot from the wand and hit the ground "Well, that's all there is to it" he shrugged, lightening his grip on the handle before placing it down on the opposite side of the box that he had placed the wand. Noise Prince
(I'm so sorry, I became very busy suddenly and time got away from me!) "It's most likely broken," Matsuo mused out loud. "Considering how the spell manifested in the wand, it's strange, but it seems more likely that if it was reliant on your own strength, that it would react differently from you wielding it." He paused for a few minutes before becoming embarrassed, and cleared his throat. "I mean... from my inexperienced point of view, at least. I have no real experience with analyzing these kinds of items so it's likely I'm very misguided..." Sometimes his own thoughts got ahead of his mouth, leaving his mouth to run to catch up. "Ah, yes, just this Listener Crystal. I've never seen one shaped like this, just standard ones. It's really ornate. Do you think the bird shape indicates anything, or it just decorative?" Nonplussed by the sudden burn, Aikawa moved on to the next wand-like item. Without saying a word, he read the label, and then aimed outward. Matsuo barely had time to wonder what the spell could be when suddenly a sharp bolt of lightning burst out, so bright it made the daylight seem like night after it disappeared after that brief second. His hairs stood on end, his skin got goosebumps. "Wow... so all of these must be pretty serious, huh?"
GayYaoiPrince
(( No need to apologize, i can understand that sometimes we get busy with more important things XD )) Aikawa smiled, listening to what the other had to say while he was busy, he shrugged not really having anything to say back to Matsuo so he stayed silent and continued with what he was doing. After placing the lightning rod aside he turned his attention to the item that Matsuo was talking about "It's more than likely just decorative" he stated "And if it's not maybe its content can explain why it's that shape" he added. "Yeah, most of the time we get much simpler things but i guess these ones are a bit advanced" looking down at the box, he was suddenly not really in the mood to sort through these items even though he had only tested two of them, usually this was his favorite thing to do, he sighed "Was there anything else that you wanted to test?" maybe he could just get Matsuo to test everything for him, he could just relax and watch his familiar do the work and if the other didn't want to do it either then he would just have to put the ox away and test the items later, his uncle probably wouldn't come to check on him anytime soon since he usually took long when sorting through everything. Noise Prince
((Thanks ^^)) "Ah, yeah, perhaps." Matsuo agreed, nodding and examined it a little further. He couldn't tell if there was any 'residue' but usually it was hard to be sure there wasn't any without a complete stripping of it, which might be what they'd need to do before selling it. Trace memories weren't a huge deal, of course, especially when buying a crystal like this second-hand, but perhaps it was better for business to go the extra mile. "Seems like some pretty dangerous things for a second hand shop. Does your uncle have a special license for things like this, or something?" He didn't know much about business practices, but it seemed like selling of dangerous and potentially rare goods might need additional regulation. "Well, sure, but now I'm a little worried I might disintegrate myself," He chuckled.
