Shirogane hid a smirk as he watched the kid run to the sink. "See? I warned ya didn't I?" He blinked as the kid suddenly shed his sweatshirt.

"Hey! What did I just say about droppin yer clothes everywhere?!" the man huffed watching the actor retreat for his room. "Oh for cryin' out loud it can't be that bad!!" he called out after him. He waited a few minutes but when the kid did not return he sighed and went on after him taking his own plate of food with him. He had added some ketchup to it before he did so and knocked on the bedroom door. "Oi, Kid." he spoke firmly, "Ya comin out or am I goin in after ya?"

Silence. He could hear the young man's phone ringing and ringing inside. Wasn't he even gonna answer his own phone?! Frowning, Shiro opened the door and let himself in. He moved to sit down beside the human 'turtle'. "Oi. What are ya hidin for? We have to get going soon. Here. Eat this, it's not spicy. I put ketchup on it the way ya like it." he murmured setting it by the lad's bundled up form. He then reached over to answer the kid's phone.

"Yeah? This is the Kid's manager. What ya want?"

"Ah, Mr Shirogane, I'm surprised you got your hands on Mako-chan's phone. I see you are there nice and early! That's good. Well, there has been a change in schedule so I wanted to make sure Makoto was up. The meeting will be pushed back until tomorrow and everything for the filming was also pushed back. You see, the director in charge of the film came down with something awful so they've had to postpone until a later date. However, Mako-chan's song writer had a break through so I want both of you here in the next hour for a recording. This alone will take all day since he has to get use to the song, learn the lyrics and adjustments must be made. So please head them up and move em out!!" The boss cheered.

On the other side it was Mr Matsuzaki the CEO of the company. "It will take you a while to get here so I suggest you move out what with traffic and all," He added before saying goodbye and hanging up. On the other hand, Makoto hadn't so much as budged.

The male was still in turtle mode, stubborn and refusing to move. He didn't touch the food and didn't want to come out of the blankets. In fact, he was still panting slightly trying to keep his tongue as cool as he could given the stuffiness of being under the blankets. Still, he wasn't going to even give the useless manager an inch. Give him an inch and he'll take a mile. For now, Makoto kept holding down the blankets to prevent Shirogane from getting to him at all. Of course, there were gaps in the armor but that was to be expected.

"Go Away!" He barked just wanting to sleep the rest of the day away.

"Oh, Boss! Hang on a sec." he put the CEO on speaker phone and held it between himself and the burrito-wrapped boy, "Go ahead." After his boss finished speaking, Shirogane nodded, "Yes Sir! I'll bring him by right away. I need to speak to you about a few things today also." he nodded turning the phone off. He looked to the blanket-bundle.

"Okay ya heard the Boss. Let's get movin. Ya can eat on the way." he promised. Hearing the kid's response he frowned and reached for the blanket giving it a firm yank.

"Oh, no ya don't! I'm yer manager, remember? I'm not going away. I'm going to get ya to yer music rehearsal. Come on, up and at em!" he huffed trying to get the Kid to move out of bed.

"I don't want to!" Typically he was never this stubborn when needing to go to work. He always got ready and waited to get there before his anxiety set in. This was the first time in... probably his whole career that he straight up refused to leave his room much less the apartment. The boy lost control of the blankets when they were yanked and moved to gather up as many as he could to go back to hiding.

Makoto curled up on the bed again and made every refusal possible to go anywhere. His tongue was still sore from being burned and he didn't feel up to do any singing today. So, of course, the change in plan was the worst thing that could have happened today. Still, Makoto was just going to keep refusing to go as Shiro had to drag him from the bed he clung to.

"Leave me alone," he growled still being as stubborn as humanly possible... Though, this was hard for him since he had always been a rather easy going guy. Sure, social anxiety held him back, but at least he did as he was told with a little pep talk to get him through the scary things.

"Nice try, Kid!" Shiro growled back as he yanked the blankets off the bed entirely and out of the fellow's reach. "Ya know, I don't know if it's me, but I don't get ya rich fancy pretty-boy types at all." he huffed dragging the blankets as far back as he could. If Makoto wanted them now he would have to get out of bed to get them.

"Look. Don't ya want to be famous? When you were at the signing thing it looked like you were having some fun smiling there with all your fans. I don't get why you wanna hide with yer tail between yer legs now! It's your job right? If you want to stay rich and famous ya do yer job, just like everyone else in this world...and just like me. Without you, I can't pay back my loan." he paused a bit bitting on his lower lip. "And it seems without me, ya'd just hide in yer room cowerin in fear. That's no life for anyone." he dropped the blankets and moved closer to sit next the man again. This time his voice was softer as he placed a hand on the boy's head ruffling his hair some.

"So....no. I'm not going to leave ya alone. I'm gonna help ya become even more famous and even more rich than ya already are. Okay, Kid? Now let's get to work, eh?" he gave the lad a rare gentle smile.

"I.... I don't want to be famous..." he whispered remaining curled up where he was. "I don't like crowds... or people... I guess the boss didn't give you my medical records," he stated feeling like he was once again being misunderstood. The boss should flat out explain why the job was so high paying. Stars could get stage fright, it was almost a given but what he had was something on a much higher level. This was something he should be on medication for... or therapy... two things he wasn't getting. All he got were pep talks and pushes to get his work done.

"I don't need money... I don't need objects... I certainly don't need to be famous... I just want to live my life alone... My sister got me in this industry and I haven't been able to get out since," he confessed. This was something a lot deeper that he had never even told any of his other managers. Makoto didn't like talking about his family since his sister was over seas and never talked to him and his parents cared more for his sister's career than his. For all they cared, he could fall off the face of the earth and not even care. Makoto had this loneliness that hurt him every day... but it was one that he never shared with anyone and was willing to suffer in silence.

Shiro listened to the lad speak. Medical records?! Was he given something like that from the boss? He didn't remember that even being brought up. Shirogane was starting to like this company less and less. It was bad enough they didn't let the kid have breaks and days off but now they were forcing someone with some sort of medical history to work such a grueling schedule against the star's will? What sort of business was this?!

Shirogane sighed and continued to pet the lad's soft hair comfortingly, "Alone is lonely." he replied softly speaking from experience, "So ya don't want to be famous. I can understand that. Is there anything about this job though that ya do like?" There had to be -something- right? Otherwise, why didn't the kid just quit already?

"They give me a place to live and they let me sing as much as I want. Plus... even if it's only for a moment, I get to be someone I'm not...." he admitted. "I don't need the money but at least I get to watch anime once I'm done for the day," He stated. "They even taught me different languages so I can watch certain episodes not typically found or to read comments that others leave that aren't from this country." Makoto was starting to relax a little more and his death grip on the bed loosened up. It was comforting to feel Shiro's hand on his head... Odd but nice.

"Besides... someone else got me in this industry so I won't just quit." If what he said before wasn't enough, this was all he could do to try and get Shirogane to understand. Still, he kept it as vague as humanly possible. Makoto didn't want this manager to know about his family or what was going on between them. Learning things like this could ruin it all.

Shiro smiled at the fellow and nodded. "So there are some things ya like. Alright. Well let's go sing then." Anime?! Was the kid an otaku? Who would've guessed. "If ya do well, I'll take ya to the store and we'll go and get a new anime if ya want." he shrugged. The manager didn't like bribing but sometimes that was the only option left. Hopefully the lad would take the bait and not be so troublesome anymore. "I wanna hear more about this medical condition of your's." he decided as he moved to find some clothes for the fellow to wear, "If I'm gonna be your manager I'm gonnna have to know these things. True, I work for the company, but my first priority is -you-. If you're not well, ya can't make the company money. But not only that, if you're not well, you can't do any of the things you wanna do...like sing or watch cartoons." he pointed out with a shrug then shuddered. "Or play those blessed video game contraptions I kept hearing about!"

"R-really?" The idea of getting a little something for himself was actually refreshing. Maybe he could get another game to play or something else for him to watch. Finally, Makoto gave in. He nodded slightly and sat up a little giving into the bribery. Either way, he was going to at least go to his job. Though, as his manager searched for clothes, Makoto just grabbed the sweatshirt from him that he ditched and put it back on. He was already dressed to go to work so now he just had to go.

"Also... I was diagnosed with Social anxiety... A doctor prescribed me some pills but the boss won't let me get any... If I am taking pills and the media sees... well you might know what will happen... it would be like an idol drinking and driving. I don't even have time fore therapy treatment," he quickly explained. Makoto didn't bother going too far into detail as he just relaxed and made sure he was ready to go. "We have to leave," he stated as he put his hat on and sunglasses. It was amazing that no one really paid enough attention to him when he was wearing these things. It was nice since it helped keep the attention off him.

"I see." Shirogane murmured as he followed the younger taller man out of the apartment to the car. A frown had taken up permanent residence on his face. He understood the company's need for discretion but at the same time, by not getting the kid any help whatsoever they were putting themselves at risk should something finally happen to the lad. The drive to the office was quiet as the manager thought about all he had found out. Shirogane was not someone to just sit idly by and watch a young man struggle and suffer silently like this. Something had to be done!

When they got there the boss was overjoyed as usual to see them. Of course. Makoto was his cash cow.

"Okay, Kid. Go do your singing thing. I'll be in in a while. Me and the Boss gotta talk." he muttered as he walked into the main office and shut the door. As soon as the door was shut he slammed the huge planner book down on the CEO's desk and glared at the man.

"If you want me to stay the kid's manager, some things are gonna change around here." he growled angrily, "First, you're gonna give him five minute breaks periodically through the day. Second he's gonna have at least one day a week completely off. Third, if his apartment has such great security and all, ya won't mind if he gets some -private- help for the 'condition' ya failed to mention that he has!" Shiro narrowed his eyes. He was in full-on teacher-mode again. He stood waiting for his boss to reply as he put his hands on his hips trying to make himself as tall as his four foot eight and half inches would allow!

Makoto glanced over nervously before heading down the hall and taking the elevators down two flights where the recording studios were. He was unsure about what was going to happen upstairs but he did as he was told and met up wit his music producer to review the new song.

-------------------

"Look, Mr Yamatta, I don't think you understand, you are in no position to talk to me like that. Besides, you know nothing about Mako-chan if these are your demands. First off, if I give him too many breaks we will never get through the day. The kid works best when everything is done at once and he doesn't have to deal with getting pep talks after every break just to be able to do some work. Second, One day off a week is how many days a year? All of which could be going towards his career, besides, he'd spend the day hiding at home the whole time playing that video game of his so don't make him waste his time doing such trivial things." The boss knew Makoto a lot better than Shiro did after all.

"In order for Mako-chan to get the help he needs, he would have to take time out of his schedule to see a counselor which means even fewer events and even less money for everyone. Besides, he'd have to go to these sessions and probably take pills for his nerves. The media will devour him if they found out about any of this so I suggest you let it go before I have to let you go. That kid belongs to me so you really can't just decide what you want to do with him or not." the boss was a hell of a lot stricter now than he had been earlier. That easy going attitude was gone and replaced with this serious and strict boss. "Anyway, if you hadn't noticed, Mako-chan hasn't gotten any worse and has been making progress with his problem as time goes by. This career helps him get the thing he wants the most."

The boss was also rather stubborn but when you were the top, he had the luxury to do so. "Now, if you really want to help him, go and convince him to make a surprise appearance into the public. Maybe just going for a walk or something. Just enough to be sure his image is kept." The boss finally smiled and got up to leave. "If that is all, good bye Mr Yamatta, please don't make me look for another new manager. It grows more and more difficult with each one." He gave a dangerous smile before going to leave.

Shiro growled now the man showed his -true- colors. He listened to his boss explain the situation from a clearly monetary perspective. Oh sure the fellow said the career was 'helping' but if the signing event was any indication, it clearly was not helping as much as the CEO thought. But this manager used to be a teacher. He knew how to play hardball too.

"Alright, I'll let go of therapy and the breaks. But the kid gets Saturdays off. Even normal workers get a day off from their job. I'll be sure to make sure he doesn't waste it." he assured his boss, "And if ya still can't handle one day a week without him, feel free to get a new manager while I go public with everything I just learned about your beloved cash cow, ne?" he challenged his eyes narrowing darkly.

"Get him a day off. If ya do, I'll work free of charge every Saturday to -manage- him that day too. Then we can be sure he won't waste his day off and maybe I can even get him to go on one of those walks and up his image. Sound good?" he offered shrugging. It was a good job and he'd hate to lose it...but he was adamant the kid have a day off!

"Mako-chan can have one day off a month. After this Movie part he has is out of the way, then I will concidered one day a week. However, stars like him don't get the luxuries most do. Keep that in mind. I will hold it to you that he doesn't waste any of his time. If we see any loss of in profit, you can bet it will come out of your paycheck and if anything else should happen, just know you are under a contract to keep Mako-chan's identity as well as any other information you find as a manager confidential. Any information spilled will result in legal action. Just remember, you signed the contract." The boss couldn't agree to one day off a week because after signing Makoto off to this movie job, it was up to them to decide what his schedule would be like.

If they wanted, the Movie industry he was being signed to could have him work every day without Shiro having any power because they knew nothing about Makoto and threatening them would be no skin off their backs. Thankfully, they were kinder and enjoyed taking care of their actors. That was one of the reasons the acting job was so much easier because while Makoto was assigned to huge jobs and would typically be the lead role, they gave him days off for various reasons, he could have breaks whenever he wasn't on set and it was easier to work around him if he was sick or something. There was always something else to work on for a movie.

There were many times that Makoto thought he should only be in the acting business. Sure, he loved to sing but it brought him nothing but torture half the time. If he could get a little happiness from acting, maybe that would have been a better call. Plus... They would probably pay just as much if not more.

Shirogane forced a smile through gritted teeth. The CEO did have a point. He did sign a contract. "Fine. We'll take it." he agreed and picking up the huge binder left the room quickly. After asking the receptionist where the recording studio was he hurried to find the kid. His smile was a little less forced as he spotted the singer/actor. He waved to the young man and set the binder down on a nearby chair and spoke to the lad. "Hey, Kid. How ya doin? Alright so far?" he asked then blushed a little scratching the back of his head. What was with him?! He was acting like some sort of weird fawning mother! "Uh.....ya thirsty? I'll get ya some water." he muttered as he moved towards a vending machine he had seen on the way.

Makoto was down in the recording studio getting information from his song writer. They were playing some of the music when Shiro suddenly came rushing in talking to him. "Th-thanks," he said managing a smile. The boy was happy until he was pulled back by his songwriter snapping his fingers to get his attention again.

"Don't space out on me kid," he chuckled and handed him some headphones. "Here, get use to the song for a minute and let me know what you think." Makoto had to stay focused on work right now. He placed the large headphones over his head and listened to the song for a short while.

"Stop... There's a strange inconsistency in the base line," He explained. The two then listened to the one part over and over again as they also worked to clear it all up writing down notes and cleaning the section. Makoto then finished the song and nodded. "I think it's good. What about the lyrics." This was him acting the part of a great idol and he was alright with just the one person he'd known for years.

Makoto worked on reading over the lyrics again and again before pointing out another problem. "This song isn't right. there is no fitting these lyrics into that small space, I'd have to talk really fast to get it in. Also, these lyrics here make no sense..." Makoto knew what he was doing and the producer agreed. The two were on the same page almost all the time. They kept focus and it was hours before the song was even ready to start the producing portion. Makoto finally was able to take a drink and he downed nearly the whole water before focusing on the song again. He eventually got into the recording box for just a dry run but it would be another couple hours before they were really going.

Shiro watched the two work on the song as he set a water bottle nearby the kid. He had gotten one for himself as well. He forgot about it though as he watched the kid transform back into the 'star' persona. It really was quite remarkable. "Heh." he muttered as he took a seat. Makoto not only looked confident but he was quite smart also as he picked up some discrepancies in the music and lyrics. He seemed to work well with the producer.

"Must be cuz he likes to sing." Shirogane thought to himself setting the bottle down and lighting up a much-needed cigarette instead. It had been quite a while since his last one and he was waaaaaaaaaaaay overdue! Taking a soothing drag he released his pent-up rage at the CEO in a steady stream of smoke. He needed that. He glanced through the 'Big Book of Stardom' as he decided to name it.

This month was mainly the movie. It was slated to be a huge blockbuster with box office sales in the millions. It was super imperative that Makoto didn't miss any of his scheduled appointments for it. A few hours into the song-work, he noticed the kid polish off the whole bottle of water. Realizing he still had another he had yet to drink, he got up stretching his legs some and replaced the empty one with the full one. A simple task but he knew how appreciated the gesture would be later.

When the kid started singing, Shirogane had to look up from the book. He had never heard anything like it before. The kid's blue eyes almost sparkled as his beautiful voice just mesmerized the smaller man. Wow. Now Shiro understood why the kid was an international star-sensation. The old man's heart started quickening it's pace a little. Even though he was sure he was sitting down on an actual chair, he felt as though he were floating, gravitating towards the young man pulled in solely by his eyes and his voice.

"Hey, you're not allowed to smoke in here or anywhere near Megumi-kun," the producer snapped trying to wave away the smoke. "Don't you have any consideration? Second hand smoke is even worse for a person than first hand and he needs that throat to be able to sing!" The producer of course gave Shiro two choices, take it outside and come back once the smell was gone or to put it out and get rid of it. Besides, they were in the basement so it was even harder for them to clear out smoke with no windows.

Makoto looked over a bit worried and felt bad for the way the producer snapped but he really was only taking care of the young star so he couldn't just complain. The boy still bowed slightly before going into the recording booth to start singing. They started and Makoto's voice came strong through the microphone as he really got into his song. This was where he did best.

"This kid makes my job so easy," the producer said as he sat back knowing that he didn't have to mess with the electronics to get the sound he wanted. Makoto had a natural talent that required just a little help being louder than the back ground music but no extra electronics had to be added and the producer could just sit back and let it play. It was amazing that Makoto got through the whole song on just his first try.

"What do you think kiddo?" The producer asked over the speaker.

"I was too flat on parts. I'm thinking you should try picking up the beat a little in those sections and I'll sing into it," Megumi explained.

"Alright, sing the section you're talking about." Of course, that's just what Makoto did, finding the section and singing it over differently this time.

"Hmm... Alright, then how about this for an arrangement, " the producer worked on his computer a little to come up with a base that complimented what Makoto sang.

"I like that better, let's role with it." With that, the song was started over and Makoto sang the song over again. On the instrumental break he took another big gulp of water before putting it down and he glanced down realizing it was a new bottle. He looked towards his manager with a smile before getting right back into the song managing a much better result the second time.

  • 2 weeks later...

Shiro jumped as the producer started shouting at him. "Bloody hell!" he grumbled as he took one last quick drag and snuffed his first and last cigarette of the day out quickly. He hadn't thought about how the smoke would affect the kid's lungs. Now he couldn't even smoke around the fellow. Great. Ah well...it was worth it to hear that voice though. He didn't know to much about popular culture but he knew that his charge definitely could sing.

He nodded in agreement with the producer chuckling a bit. "Heh. If only he'd make my job a little easier." he muttered then sighed scratching the back of his head restlessly. He sat back down and started playing with his cellphone. This was gonna take a while. He looked up just in time to see the kid smile at him. He smiled and nodded back giving the young man a thumb's-up sign.

Makoto felt bad since he was the one that was preventing Shiro from being able to smoke as he wanted to but he couldn't deny that smoke bothered his lungs. One manager lost his job that way. It was one of Makoto's early ones when the CEO warned him not to smoke near the kid and yet he did every chance he could and was fired 3 days later. That was the fastest firing he'd seen but thankfully, the others had been smarter... Though they all ended up quitting.

Once more, Makoto sang again all the way through getting better and better until the session was finally over and he had the song ready for publishing. It would be released to certain media for a while before being more available. Though, it wouldn't be available on CD for a while since he had to get through some other songs so they weren't releasing singles all the time. As much money as those made, the multi song disks sold for more and more people were willing to by a whole disk instead of just a song or two on other medias.

As soon as it all ended, Makoto came out of the sound booth and walked over to Shiro. "Thanks for the water," he said again as he had finished off the second bottle as well. This kid drank like a fish when making new songs. It was amazing that he made it on stage without taking breaks between songs just to down a gallon or go to the bathroom. Makoto couldn't help but smile as he began to think about the other things he had to do today. His schedule had suddenly changed but it was probably alright to go home now that it was getting pretty late. He'd been here all day and was now starving and exhausted.

Shiro had finished fiddling with his flip phone. He closed it up as he stared at the updated calendar with pride. Noticing the kid had stopped singing he grabbed a fresh cigarette. Making sure it stayed unlit, he placed it between his lips savoring the way it felt in his mouth. Eh, it would have to do til he could find some time away to light up. The old man watched Makoto approach and blushed a little at the gratitude the kid was bestowin on him for a couple bottles of water no less! Really the fellow was too much.

"Uh...y-yeah. No problem. Let's get ya home, now." he murmured standing up and stretching, "Leftover stew sound good for dinner? It's not spicy, promise!" he smirked winking up at the lad.

"So...uh.......who knew ya could sing, huh?" Shirogane offered to fill in the silence during the car ride back, "Ya know, I talked to the boss and I got some good news! He's givin ya a day off after the film shootin is done at the end of the month. Am I an awesome manager or what?" Of course he didn't expect a response to that -last- question. The answer of course went without saying, "Ya better start thinkin how ya'd like to spend your free day." he grinned looking at the star through his rear-view mirror. For some reason the kid had been smiling more lately. Shiro decided to take that as a good sign.

Just then his hands-free call set began to ring. "Oh, uh...excuse me. Maybe that's the boss now." he muttered as he pressed the answer button on his cellphone. "Yeah?" he answered trying to sound as respectful as his usually non-respectable self could muster, "Whad'ya want?"

"Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiroooooooooo-kun!" a female's very girly voice whined out of the phone's speakers. The manager's brown eyes widened and his countenance brightened considerably.

"Stella?!" he asked unable to keep the excitement out of his voice.

The female voice giggled, "No, Silly! I'm Della, remember? Stella's my sister. Oh do you wanna talk to her too? She's--Hey!"

There seemed to be a slight bit of rustling and static before a slightly deeper female voice spoke up, "Hi, Shiro-kun!" the seductive voice purred.

The grin on the ex-teacher's face widened. "Stella! How the hell are ya two?"

"Lonely!" the two females spoke into the phone in unison.

"You haven't been home in two whole days!!!" Della whined.

"Yeah about that...."

"You left us alllllll alone to play allllll by ourselves!" Stella purred while her sister giggled. Shiro's cheeks started to darken as he glanced nervously at his charge in the back seat that could hear just as well as he could.....unfortunately.

"Heh...yeah....well...uh..."

"Shiro-kun's a meanie! It took us forever to find where you hid the key to the handcuffs!"

The manager blinked. Handcuffs? Had there been handcuffs?? He had been so drunk that night he didn't remember.

"Daddy Shiro-kun should be punnished!"

"Yeah and spanked!" Stella quickly added. All the color quickly drained out of Shirogane's face.

"And then we'll--"

Before the two could say another word, Shiro snatched the phone up turning it off speaker and holding it to his ear as he drove one-handed instead.

"AHAHAHAHA!" Shiro laughed loudly hoping and praying the kid had some earbuds or something in his ears and missed that last part. "You two! You are soooooooo funny with your jokes and.....funny.....stuff...Hahaha! Ladies, please! I'm still on duty!" The manager paused his smile fading instantly to a deadpan expression, "Uh.....the job? Remember? The meeting I had?" How could they have forgotten?! Disbelief quickly turned to anger, "Yes, I still have -that- job!" he snarled into the phone. It had only been -two- days for crying out loud! He paused listening to the others his expression changing as his cheeks began to color again.

"Oh really? And uh....what else are ya gonna do to 'Daddy'?" Shirogane's eyes began to widen behind his glasses, "Uh.....hold that thought!" he snapped shutting the phone and tossing it carelessly behind him before doing a complete u-turn that had a few late-night drivers honking at him.

"Shut up! I'm driving here!" he shouted angrily out the window at a few of them before he sped off down the highway in the opposite direction of Makoto's house.

"Uh.....change of plans, Kid!" he called over his shoulder as he sped down the road, "I know a great place to grab some grub!"

A short while later, Shiro burst through the doors of his favorite dive bar not caring if his 'charge' was behind him or still in the car.

"Daddy's home!" the pint-sized man exclaimed loudly.

"Y-ya..." He really didn't know how to respond to being told that he could sing... After all, there was a reason he was a famous singer... Then again, he knew of a few singers that were horrible at it and only were good with the accompaniment of a huge amount of electronics. Still, it was a bit rude to say that. After all, he probably would have had to quit being a singer if he wasn't good at it because why waste time when he was such a good actor? No point in wasting time or energy on something that he wasn't good at so he'd have to drop one. However, in this case, he was good at singing and acting.

Anyway, the two finally left and got in the car. Makoto pulled his iPod out of his pocket but paused wen Shiro started to try striking up a conversation... What was the point in doing something like that? Though, it was nice to hear about the day off... Then again he had no idea what to do on a day off... Maybe he could watch anime all day or catch up on sleep... That would be nice.

Just then, the phone rang and interrupted the... "Conversation" and Makoto was curious as to what was happening. It could have been the CEO... Or so he thought until a girl's whiny voice came pouring into the car. After the two girls entered in on the phone and complained about loneliness, Makoto knew this wasn't a conversation for him to be part of. He slipped in his headphones but only pretended he was listening to music as he actually listened to everything being said. That wasn't the best idea because the conversation was going a rather dark route... Guess some people were into weird things like that but someone who couldn't so much as have a normal conversation with anyone, he wouldn't know at all.

Thankfully, Shiro scooped up the phone and continued the conversation off speaker mode. Makoto played his music quietly as he leaned back to relax for a minute. Suddenly the phone was tossed next to him in the back seat and just as Makoto took out one earbud, the car was whipped around to do a full 180. The young star was terrified but never made a sound... Strangely enough when he was scared he got even quieter and would freeze up instead of screaming. Didn't do well if he were to be mugged or something.

Makoto clung to the back seat until they finally came to a stop at some old bar. This was not the setting he was use to.. or could probably handle alone... Of course, Shiro didn't seem to care as he jumped out of the car the moment it was in park and rushed in without him. The young star was just left in the car all by himself. Shaking slightly, he stared at the bar trying to work up the courage to go in... Of course, he didn't even have the courage to get out of the car.

It took almost 20 minutes for Makoto to finally close his eyes and open the car door where he stepped out carefully, grabbing his baseball cap and pulling it on before forcing himself inside the dive bar. He felt like he was going to be sick.

The star stepped in looking around for Shiro but he was rather hard to see... The guy was short after all... At least there were only a few people in here... Enough to make Makoto want to run away but he just stood by the door like it was his first day at school and he found himself lost where he shouldn't be.

"Yay! Daddy Shiro-kun!" the burly twin drag queens squealed as they greeted the short man, picking him up like a teddy bear and carting him off to a nearby couch. Shiro just laughed forgetting all about his job and the poor fellow with social anxiety issues that he had left in the car! The bartender "Mama" glared at him, "Bout time ya got here." the owner huffed, "Where's my money?"

"Now now, Mama!" Shirogane grinned focusing his attention on the two muscular 'ladies' surrounding him, "Let a fellow relax and get a drink first!"

Stella giggled and lit the cigarette he still had in his mouth. Ahh.....that was much better! Della handed him a mug of beer. Now this was the life! Even Bruno started flexing his muscles. Bruno didn't talk too much so the display was the closest the smaller man would get to a greeting from the dancer.

"Hmph! You useless pipsqueak!" Mama huffed angrily, "All you do is come in here, drink like a fish and flirt with my girls!"

Shirogane blinked, "And what's wrong with that? By the looks of things here, I'm the only customer you ever get!" the ex-teacher pointed out.

"But you NEVER PAY!!!" Mama roared.

Well.....Shirogane couldn't argue with her there. Since he couldn't argue, he shrugged and tossed back the mug of beer! The owner groaned and walked off in a huff. She knew it was a losing battle....still at least the guy had a job now. Maybe she would see some dough.....maybe.

Twenty minutes later a rather hot looking young fella entered the bar seeming to be searching for someone. Mama brightened instantly. At long last! A -real- customer! The haggard old drag queen waved from behind the bar. "Ah! Welcome, Sir! Don't just stand around the door there. Come on in and sit down! Did ya come in for a drink? Ya....uh....ya sure you're old enough? Ya look kind of young." she replied looking at him over her horn-rimmed glasses. He really did have a baby-face. Perhaps he was a student that had lost his way. "Do ya need to use the phone, Honey?" she offered suddenly feeling worried for the boy.

"I'm.... twenty-four..." he managed to say to the owner. Makoto took notice of his manager having a good time, smoking and hanging with... drag queens. Makoto didn't have anything against people who did drag, he just had something against how open they were because while they were so social, he was not. Then again, the young singer had that against everyone that was able to talk to another human being with out getting stressed the way he did. He didn't care what people did to make themselves happy, he was just jealous he couldn't do what he wanted to do because he freaked out every time.

Should Makoto call the CEO and have someone else pick him up? No... there was probably no one there to do so at this hour.... And... calling a taxi was out of the question. Makoto couldn't bring himself to get close to the group of three cheering and being so close to one another so he forced his shaking legs forward towards the bar where no one else was sitting.

Just as he was about to ask for a water, his stomach interrupted with a moan from hunger. The young star was so embarrassed that he took a step back from the bar wanting to run away and just go home. Makoto slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. His hands were still shaking as he sent a text to Shiro saying that he wanted to go home. He couldn't bring himself to go over there and the CEO had given him Shiro's contact information though, looking over, he didn't seem to notice it go off.

The owner seemed rather gentle towards him as Makoto struggled between sitting down and running away. There was no where to go if he did run and being in here with a total of five other people was probably better than however many people were outside at this hour... Plus, it couldn't be anyone good. What if he were to be mugged or something?! Though, he didn't care about that as long as people didn't try to talk to him too much. Now if he met a large group of friendly people that wanted to hang with him and talk... well that was probably more terrifying than someone taking his money and leaving.

"S-Sorry to disturb you...." he stuttered. "H-He's my... my manager..." Makoto forced his words out and motioned towards Shiro. "Er... I mean.... He brought me... He... uh... drove...." Wow he was bad at talking... no wonder he didn't ever do it. He finally shut his mouth and just stood there awkwardly. The boy reached up and pulled his hat down over his face a little more feeling worse than when he first came here.

There had to be someone he could call or contact to drive him home.... but he didn't have any friends and the only contacts in his phone were business related and a lot of them didn't know about his social anxiety... Feeling more and more stressed by the second, Makoto took a seat at the bar before he passed out. He felt so sick.

  • 2 weeks later...

The bar's Mama listened watching the strange lad curiously. It was rather hard to understand him, but it was apparent he was old enough to be there at least. The owner watched the young man approach, but as his stomach started to growl, he backed off in embarrassment.

"Now, now, come sit down, Sir." she smiled in welcome as she gestured to the seat he had almost took, "It's obvious you could do for something to eat and drink. Bruno, why don't you fix a plate of food up for our guest here?"

With a nod the oiled-up dancer nodded and flexing his large muscles quickly headed into the back.

"Bruno's a real wonder in the kitchen." Mama replied trying to reassure the obviously skittish fellow. She poured him a glass of water unsure if liquor was the best thing for the young man at the moment and placed it before him, "Now, how about you tell this old Auntie just what is troubling you, hmm?"

Her smile instantly turned to a frown as she pieced together the lad's stuttered words and followed his gesturing to the little dwarf she had once called a 'friend'. Her thickly painted eyes narrowed and before the poor boy could say another word, she shouted across the bar.

"Shirogane, why you miserable little troll!"

Said troll blinked and looked up from where he was sandwiched between the two huge twins, "Eh?!"

"Don't you 'EH?' me!!! You came here still on duty and you brought the rich kid with you?! HERE?!! What the hell is in your head?! Wait, I forgot. There's NOTHING in your head because the part -you- like to think with isn't your BRAIN!!"

Shiro pushed past the two twins and blinked noticing the kid. Oh yeah. He -had- left him in the car, hadn't he?

"Uh...well......he was hungry...so......uh......I thought Bruno could fix him dinner. Ya know....help Bruno polish his skills.....while I...uh...." his voice trailed off as he glanced at the twins who giggled playfully.

"Tch! What a useless man." Mama huffed glancing back at the poor fellow. So this was Shirogane's charge. She felt sorry for the so-called star already, "If I were you, Kid, I'd just fire him already." she muttered.

Shiro, feeling as though perhaps the matter had been cleared up now, snuffed out his cigarette and turned his attention back to the 'girls', "After he gets some food in him, I'll take him home, Mama. Til then, at least let me have some fun too!"

Mama rolled her eyes and sighed. Just then, Bruno returned silently placing a nice hearty meal of rice and meat and typical Japanese vegetables before their guest to enjoy.

"I must apologize for your manager." Mama noted derisively as she too snuffed out the last of her own cigarette, "He means well...usually. Unfortunately, though he has a habit of not thinking before he acts. He lets his own depravity rule him."
