morning_flower94
Hi guys :Playful: Can you guys recommend me a good, heartwarming but a little bit realistic yaoi/ shounen ai manga with a happy ending? Something that isn't too fast-paced will be good. I also prefer if it has completed too. What I mean by realistic is that it's actually quite possible / common in the gay relationship, such as : 1. Marriage and kids. 2. Troubled if he's not accepted because he's gay / he has to deal with homophobia. 3. Something with "what's the future waits for us" kind of feeling. And I'm not looking at these kind of manga at the moment : 1. The characters are womanizers/ playboy/ manizers (?), etc. 2. The characters keep going "I'm not gay" 3. The fast paced one. I have read many yaoi that has published in between 2000-2010-ish, so a new yaoi that is published in 2010+ will be appreciated (but I also accept the older ones too, if you have) The good examples are probably like : Kikoeru by Hashimoto Aoi, Koisuru Barairo Tenchou by Mochimeko, and Yukidoke no Koi by Itz (if I'm not mistaken). I'm sorry for my bad english ^^" Thank you

It's a historical though and in my opinion it's really good. It doesn't have a fast paced. And I like all of the manga by this author (: And if you want to read the manga which have a kid in it, maybe you can try to read Sorenari ni Shinken nandesu. I really recommended this one. I read it for over and over again, and never get bored with it. It's my favorite one ^^

morning_flower94
Ah thank you I'm gonna try them ^^ - - - Updated - - - oh and also I've read some of the harada-sensei works. Although my favorite of harada's work is probably "Arrow" (I mean, it is quite unique in my opinion. Also I like the uke character a lot)
Yakun
.. hmm you can try hidaka shouko's works, arashi no ato, tarinai jikan, hatsukoi no atosaki, although most of her works are slice of life, and it's really good, ..
AudinoLollipop
I agree with those who suggested Tamayura (it made me tear up a bit) and Hidaka Shouko's works (I really got hooked with Hana wa Sakuka). They're pretty slow paced and realistic. I'd like to suggest the following: Kimiiro Eden by Aomoto Sari - This story is pretty slow paced and reflective (I think). One of the MC's also has LGBT parents (read the manga for the actual details). Sannin Gurashi by Hirakita Yuya - A short story where the household is composed of brothers and one of the brother's boyfriend. Tsumasaki ni kourozu by Aoi Aki - A slow paced tale that's light-hearted (with a little bit of drama) and will make you appreciate nature in the process. Koi no Hanashi ga Shitai by Yamashita Tomoko - A series of short stories that just feels real to me. Her other work "Yes, it's me" felt quite real too... Seinen wa Ai o Kou by Hino Garasu - A story about a guy who feels terrible for not liking normal things that guys like. It was a heart-breaking read for me. Nobara by Kumota Haruko - This one has 2 stories. One is about a recently divorced man with a kid who is falling love with his co-worker, and the other is about a man who wants to be a woman and is in love with another man who happens to be gay. Both stories may make you ponder about a few things here and there. Those are what I can recall from the top of my head. I might add later on after I browse my collection later on. Here are also some notable mentions that you may consider reading/checking out (for the sake of curiosity because they might not exactly fit your criteria). Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai by Nakamura Shungiku and Miyasaki Miyako - This is not a manga. While it is one of the couples in the world of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi (its parent story), its story is told in Light Novels. It isn't like the other couples featured in the series because it feels most realistic out of them all. It starts off with one of the MC's of the main series set it straight with his friend (this Light Novel's MC) that they are not ever going to be in a romantic relationship. One thing led to another and he ends up with the head editor of the popular shounen manga series and is even introduced to this person's daughter (His wife died of an illness a long time ago, and he's single now). The light novel shows a lot interactions between the MC and his partner's daughter which are heart-warming and just beautiful. Showa Genruko Rakugo Shinjuu by Kumota Haruko - This manga's scanlation status is ongoing but the anime was able to cover everything. This is not a yaoi/shounen ai manga but it has a lot of bromance in it and a moment where you could feel like the two MC's (of the past arc) can become a happy family. Stepping away from the bromance aspect, the show itself is quite educational (in terms of learning a bit more about Japanese culture) and has a good plot going. Paradise View by Kojima Lalako - This is actually a Sequel to the author's previous work titled "Kimi to Parade". The former is a cute and a bit dramatic tale, but the sequel is very much dramatic. It portrays how lack of communication breaks a relationship. This can be quite reflective (makes you think a lot) and heart-breaking (it was very much so when it was still ongoing. The wait for the next chapter was unbearable). It is composed of 2 volumes and has a happy ending (the epilogue, though...just prepare your heart, just in case) I placed this here because it's a sequel and is better read after reading the prequel (I did it in reverse but the feels were just too strong, even without reading the prequel ; w ;... reading the prequel is my suggestion since some scenes will be referenced from it). Shinjuku Lucky Hole by Kumota Haruko - This one doesn't fill in the specifics of your request, BUT is does feel realistic. The manga is actually quite deep and it makes you think about it for a while after reading it. It started normally (for BL manga of this sort of setting), but as you read the following chapters, it may make you look back at the chapters you've previously finished and change the way you initially thought about it. Kumota Haruko seems to like to write deep, complicated relationships and situations based on the 3 three manga I've recommended above. I haven't tried her other manga that's supposedly cute and fluffy, so I can't comment on that yet. Sorry that this post became very long. I hope I was able to help~
