"I can get it." she said making the basket floating over to them as she got a nose bleed as she did that and looked at him. "You should eat I will be fine." she said closing her eye. Truth was she was hungry but using all of her power like she has been eating might make her sick.

Tristan sat up and grabbed the basket as soon as he could. "Thank you but I'll be sure to leave you plenty. Is any of this your favourite? I'm sure you'll get hungry some timw today," he said with a soft smile."besides I'm not use to eating a lot. There was never a lot to eat there anyways. And a lot of us older kids tried to make sure the younger ones had enough first," he said with a shrug and picked up a small liaf of bread and tore off a bit. "Do you want me to help with your nose?"

"Is up to you I'm use to it by now and anything meat or fruit would be good I like that stuff." she said looking at him. "Tho this winter you might see me less my body shuts down for the winter some times." she said

Tristan dug through the basket and got out a few things for himself and set the rest aside for Kara. "Okay. But I van check on you while you rest and make sure you're okay. Or does Daniel look after you?"

"I don't know who does but I think Danny stays by my side the entire time." She said blushing. "I try to get everything in order since I know the most but I will ask you this. "Please take care of our master when I am asleep when I wake up its like he looses more of himself I guess because I'm one of the few of us left not afraid of him." she said. "So when I sleep they try to avoid him."

"I'll do my best to help him. And maybe we can get some repairs done. And who knows maybe when they see it's safe to be around him then they'll come back and maybe a bit of themselves will return," he said hopefully. He didn't want to give up hope before even having a chance to help.

Kara smiled. "Alright, just try to get to know him better when I am sleeping because its going to come fast I can feel myself already wanting to go to sleep. Just put me somewhere warm please that is all I ask and tomorrow you will be better." she said as she took a bite of meat.

"I will. Don't worry. Even if I annoy him in the process I'll get to know him and do what I can to make sure everything will be fine while you sleep," he promised and smiled at her. "And I'll make sure Daniel's spirits are kept up."

"Thank you for everything young master." She said as she drifted to sleep holding onto his leg to heal it in the process. "My master needs you young master more than you know. Show him how to feel again." she whispered as she finished falling asleep.

"I, I'll try," Tristan said softly as he watched her fall asleep and hoped she would wake again. He was starting to like her a lot and hoped they could be friends. With a heavy sigh he leaned back on the bed and watched the door. With Zander and Sampson gone and Zara asleep he felt a not lonely. Which was odd for him. "Just go to sleep," he whispered to himself.

Kara slept more and more her energy draining, but she kept healing him until her body stopped glowing he was now held and Kara let go of him curling up into a ball and sleeping the rest of the night.

 

Zander went to sleep as well and was really happy about what tomorrow would bring

Tristan sighed as he stared up at the ceiling of the room. He knew he shouldn't bother Kara because she probably really needed it. He wasn't use to this. By now there were be a few of the little ones climbing into his bed to keep monsters away from them. This would be hard to fall asleep.

 

Sampson snored softly as he laid across Zander's legs. He stayed there till a dream woke him and he yawned loudly then stood and pawed at his master to wake him so he could go out.

Zander groaned as he woke up and looked at his dog and smiled. "Alright boy lets go out but not rose bushes this time alright." he said as he took him to the back door and let him out yawning and tears came to his eyes. Once Sammy came back into the room he decided to go back to his room and lay down soon going back to sleep and sleeping though the night only to wake up the next day.

Sampson was quick about his business but he didn't want to go back to his master's room and barked at Zander when the prince headed that way. Instead he looked towards the stairs to the tower. He wanted to check on people, it was something that he had done often when he was a younger dog.

Zander let Sammy do what he wanted to so as he slept through the night.

 

Kara was in a deep sleep

Tristan smiled as he heard Sampson nose the door open then joined him on the bed. "Hi. Did you know I was lonely? I guess you did. After all I gave you some of my life. It didn't take too much and don't worry about it I'm not expecting to live a long life anyways," he said softly, something inside of him telling him that Sampson understood what he was saying. When Sampson settled down against Kara and him to keep them warm he smiled softly and began to talk to the hound about anything that came to mind till he was able to fall asleep. After sometime he returned to Zander's room and took his place again.

The next morning Zander woke up and noticed that the temperature had dropped during the night. "Well now looks like I might need to move the others into here and start a fire. oh and his leg should be ok today." he said then thought about it. "Kara crap." he said as he got up and started to walk to the other side of the castle. "If she gets too cold she could die." It was weird that he would think about Kara like this or any of his servants they usually did there own thing, but since Tristan got here he couldn't help but want to help out everyone and that was something he hadn't done since he was human.

 

Soon he got to Tristan's room and opened the door. "How are you today?" not noticing if he was up or not

David met Zander in the hallway and bowed to him. "Master, I was just coming to wake you. Adam has your breakfast ready for you," he said softly as he looked up at the master but noticed that Zander was focused on something and hurried after him.

 

Tristan looked up at Zander when he came in then returned to helping Daniel bundle Kara up. "I'm a little cold," he said softly. "There's a little pain but I'm sure till go away after a bit but Kara is.."

 

"She's in her sleep state. We need to get her someplace warm. There's a small cupboard in the kitchen that always stays warm because of the kitchen fires," Daniel said softly.

"I was thinking of moving her to my room maybe and starting a fire in there for now. I am concerned about her. I'll bring her and Tristan down stairs and we will eat then. The sad thing is I am moving Tristan to my room as well because that is the coldest room in the house that he is in." he said. "So Tristan from now on you will be sleeping in my room. And Kara does this about this time every year." He said smiling as he picked Tristan up and Kara and then took them both to the kitchen and put Kara in the place so she can get warm. "So you ok with sharing a bed with me Tristan."

Tristan nodded as he listen to Zander. It mad sense, he could already feel the cold creeping into the room and his body. "Yes sir, she explained it to me," he said softly as he carefully stood and tested his strength for walking without help then was picked up by the prince. "I'm not too heavy?" he asked. He thought he might be able to walk a bit and was certainly interested in getting back on his feet and moving around. He didn't say anything else till Zander spoke again and shook his head. "I might be more comfortable for me. I'm use to it. We would share a room normally but not so many to a room during the summer but during the winter we would bed down in the hall since that was the only room other then the kitchen that had a fireplace, so we'd all sleep in the same room to help us keep warm and comfort each other during storms and when wolves would slip into the town and claw at the doors.

Zander picked him and Kira up taking them down stairs. "Daniel would you take Kara and put her in the warm place?" he asked looking at him and giving him her once they were down stairs. Then he walked over to the table that had food on it. He set down Tristan down next to him. "Here ya go. "After you eat we will see about standing up on your foot." he said looking at him

"Yes sir, I'll look after her," Daniel said as he waited for her weight on his back and carried her to a small cupboard that was in the kitchen that always seemed to stay hot during the winter from the cooking fires. "Hello Adam, you were right, she's gone to sleep," he said to Kira's brother as he passed the cook. "She'll be alright in here. I'll check on her whenever the master doesn't need me," he sighed as he carefully laid her down on the bedding he had hidden there.

 

"I hope she'll be okay. Kira has been really nice to me with the healing she did. I hope that didn't hurt her," he sighed softly as he sat in the chair. "I hope I'm healed enough to do some work here. I'm not use to simply laying in bed, even if I am feeling sick."

"Daniel you always take good care of my sister when I can't thank you for doing so and I told you I could feel it the last time we talked I have been to busy to check on her as well." Adam said

 

"Yeah she will be fine usually she goes into hiding in a warm place this time of year, but she couldn't so Daniel will take good care of her and we will see her after winter." He said smiling. " That was the only way to get better. I got you well as fast as I could using Kara that might of make her go to sleep early usually she has a few more days."

"Of course, she's such a kind sweet girl, why wouldn't I want to take care of her?" Daniel said with a soft smile the chuckle. "Yes, you were very right. I do hope my brother has been behaving himself when he's come down here to help," he chuckled knowing his brother wanted to get closer to Adam.

 

"She couldn't go because of me," Tristen said with a heavy sigh. "So it's my fault," he muttered. "So if I could figure out a way to help all of you she wouldn't go through that?" he asked then chewed his lip. "Maybe there's a clue or something around here. It's not right, you didn't do anything wrong, that man did, he should have been the one punished."

"I don't know why you wouldn't, and your brother is helping as much as he can most of the time it just ends up more work for me." Adam said sighing

 

"Its fine, If you ask her she would rather help out and risk her own life for others. Just how she has been and something tells me that won't change." Zander sighed and smiled. "I know, but this is how the word works now innocents get punished for the deeds of the wicked." he said looking at Tristan. "I'll be right back I have to do something." Zander said and left the room.

 

Adam looked at him. "If you want to help him you should try to get to know him more. Zander doesn't have anyone like the staff left does." adam said to Tristan and then left him.
