Name: Captain Morgan Klyne

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Bi

Personality: In one word, Morgan could be described as rather sassy. His comments are often laced with sarcasm and his wit seems to know no end. Morgan loves to have a good time and he will never say no to a good adventure. Light natured and easily amused, many find it surprising that he is in fact Captain of one of the most notorious Pirate Ships on the 7 seas. However, don't let his good humor fool you. Morgan can be just as cruel and merciless as the Pirates the sail the oceans with him. He's not afraid to use any method available to get what he wants and will never back down from a challenge. He's a fierce, lethal fighter and an equally proud, elite Captain, one his crew is proud to have leading them.

Short Bio: Morgan never really knew his mother, she died when he was just a small toddler. Due to that fact, he was placed in the care of his mother's relatives, ones that never truly approved of who the boy's father was. It wasn't long until said father swooped in and retrieved his son as soon as word got to him of his woman's death. Something her family tried to hide from him.

Growing up under his father's tutelage was a rather amazing experience. Morgan grew up proud and content knowing he was the son of the most feared of all Pirates, a man whose terrifying reputation was never tainted onto his son. At least not during his youth. Morgan grew up knowing the love of his father and the affection of his father's crew and when it was finally time for him to set off on his own, he went with the blessing of all who truly mattered to him.

Another day, another adventure....truly life at sea never had a dull moment. Certainly not when you had a reputation to uphold and treasures to find. Leaning against the helm of the ship, Morgan couldn't help but gaze out lovingly at the deep blue of the sea around them. The Gods had blessed them with another beautiful day of smooth sailing and there hardly seemed to be a note of danger anywhere around them. Of course, looks could be deceiving, but Morgan would happily keep his calm state of mind for the moment until something forced him into action. Closing his vibrant golden eyes when a gently breeze blew a few locks of ginger hair across his eyes, the young Captain couldn't stop the light humored chuckle that escaped his lips.

"My my, one would think of being in a slightly more cautious state of mind when sailing through these waters, Captain....however I seem to find myself unsurprised at your lack of fear" the familiar voice of an old childhood friend and his First Mate filled the ginger haired man's ears as he blinked his eyes open again and tossed a swift grin over his shoulder at the taller, raven haired man approaching him with a smile of his own.

"Come now, Hugh, you can't honestly tell me that you're afraid of a few legends of merepeople? We've surely faced worse and have come out on top each and every time" Morgan responded with a good natured laugh.

"That's because we've always known what we we're getting into and prepared accordingly" his best friend and second-in-command huffed though his tone was rather amused than anything else.

"Ye of little faith. Trust your Captain, Hugh, the crew sure as hell does and so those our beautiful Black Night. She's sailing strong and fierce, nothing will cause her to falter" Morgan grinned, eyes flickering lovingly at the black ship he had proudly held reign over for several years now. She was his pride and joy and he honestly couldn't imagine sailing on anything else quite as majestic and terrifying.

"If you say so, Captain...what exactly are we looking for though? You weren't very specific when we set our course" Hugh conceded with a resigned sigh, leaning against the banister of the quarterdeck, his own gray eyes watching their crew work below them. Voices rising with the mirth only Pirates were known to have.

"A rumored treasure that many ships before us have sailed to try to find. It's said somewhere across this span of sea there's an island that is home of a rather intriguing shipwreck. Now said ship was said to have been carrying pounds and pounds of precious gold. Something that would make anyone quite rich indeed. If we can find it, Hugh my friend, then we would be set for a very long time" Morgan replied, calmly turning the wheel of the helm just a bit as they continued to sail of while Hugh released a soft hum of interest.

"Then I suppose it worth the trouble of sailing through mere infested waters, huh?" He asked, not having to wait but a moment for his answer. One that came in the form of a predatory grin and a

"Damn right".

Name: Kairi

Nickname: Kai

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality:

Kairi is a playful sort of guy. He likes impressing others and telling tall tales, and especially loves to boast. He enjoys showing off whenever he feels comfortable, but is often all bark and no bite. It's not hard to intimidate Kairi, especially when faced with danger or unfamiliar situations, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's easy to scare. Even when he feels threatened, Kairi often does what he can to stand his ground, to think quickly, or at least put on a brave face. It's one of the things that's kept him alive for so long. And, despite how it's not too difficult to intimidate him or push him into a corner, Kairi is surprisingly brave--at least, that's how he likes to put it. Frankly he's more reckless than anything, and he often finds trouble that he can get into.

Kairi is also a bit naive at times when it comes to unfamiliar terms and ideals, but he can be quite witty with whatever knowledge he does have. Kairi is always looking for something to do that's interesting--whether it be dangerous, adventurous, or simply an act to quest his curiosity. He's also not very hard to impress, though he'll often try to act like he is. He's a bit of a bluffer as well. However, all of these things are just how he seems on the outside until you really get to know him...

Brief Biography:

Kairi's history is mainly unknown. The other merfolk don't know exactly where he came from, since he just showed up one day in one of their underwater civilizations, and there was no word of his parents. Kairi claimed to have amnesia when he was young, and nobody questioned it. As he got older, the boy was constantly going about in sunken ships far from his new home, and almost always looking for new things to find. He made several friends among his new home, charming his way into the hearts of many. He became quite beloved to the other merfolk, even if he was a rascal. Eventually, he began to wander, claiming that the life out in the open and in solitude was more fitting for someone like himself, though he often still visits other pods of merfolk and keeps in contact with his friends if he can.

Other notes: Kairi is fluent in six different languages--not including fish, dolphin, and whale!

The sunlight was warm on this particular day, and the two merfolk enjoyed basking in the heat as they sprawled themselves upon some rocks. The sky was a beautiful, bright shade of blue, with light clouds sailing upon them.

"I am so beautiful," one of the two, a mermaid, said to the other. She was glancing into a handheld mirror--covered in rust from its times in the water. But the glass worked well enough. "Have you ever seen something so wonderful before?" she asked, combing her blonde hair with her fingers.

"Sure have," Kairi replied. "I mean, have you ever seen sapphires before?" He joked, a cheeky grin making its way to his face as he glanced over to his friend. He crossed his arms on the rock, resting his chin on them and gave a starfish a watchful gaze. His shaggy dark hair was messy and tangled, aside from the small braid that hung to his shoulder. His arms were adorned with bracers, a string laced around his neck with a shark's tooth and a few other shells fastened to the twine. He wore some sashes about his hips, with a string of pearls looping around his waist as well.

"Ohf! You're so rude!" the mermaid gasped. Mermaids had a tendency to be conceited. It was their best trait.

"Hey, look!" Kairi said excitedly, bobbing his head up when he saw something on the horizon. His red tail flicked in excitement. "Is that a ship?"

"It'd better not be," the mermaid said. "I swear, if it's another pirate..."

Kairi pursed his lips. "Pirate? What's wrong with them?"

"Other than their nasty habit for catching our kind and locking them away to be sold or gutted? Nothing, I guess," was her reply. "They're always so bothersome though. Just like you."

His dark eyes flashed. "Sounds fun to me," he said. "C'mon! Let's go!"

"Go where??"

"To check it out, of course!" he replied excitedly.

"No way!" his friend exclaimed. "I'd rather die than get near one of their ships. An idiot like you will probably get trapped in their nets and I won't feel sorry for you."

"Oh, I'm not that clumsy," he murmured. "Well, I'm going! Whether you're brave enough to follow me or not!"

"It's not about bravery! It's just a waste of time," she said, returning her attention to her mirror and away from the nonsense. "They're only good for being drowned by sirens. Anyways, I'm leaving. If you want to get yourself killed, I don't care."

He snorted. "Fine, crab cake. Adios~" he dove into the water and began swimming toward the ship, doing what he could to stay out of sight. He mainly wanted to get to one of the sides of the ship to check out what was going on on-deck. He had no interest in mingling with any of the creatures on board. Or did he?

With a trouble-maker like Kairi, it was hard to tell.

"Oi Captain! The new lad is back talking again! You should come down here and show him who's boss!" The sound of one of his crew distracted Morgan from his pensive stare out across the ocean. Blinking a few times, the young Captain lowered his eyes towards where his crew had formed a loose ring around their newest member of the crew. A man who had once belonged to the Royal Navy but had hung his boots up in favor of piracy to avenge the hanging of his older brother. The sailor had great potential and skills, but he always had something to say even if he was wrong. It was hilarious to watch and even more entertaining to put him back in his place. Something that seemed might be something he'd have to do again.

"You should go let off some steam...Heavens knows that if you don't, we're eventually going to end up in trouble due to your recklessness" Hugh commented, flashing his friend a teasing smile while the Sailor in question stood proudly in the center of the ring of Pirates, waiting for Morgan's approach with a cocky smirk on his face.

"You say this now but the moment blood spills, you're going to be nagging my ears off" Morgan laughed but detached himself from the helm regardless. "Keep our course true while I deal with our little mouse, Hugh" he said, gracefully walking across the quarterdeck to descend the stairs towards the main deck his crew was waiting on.

"There is no need to draw blood. Just put him in his place without making a mess, sheesh" Hugh grumbled reply had Morgan's shoulders shaking in silent laughter.

It didn't take him but a few moments to calmly walk his way into the circle created by his crew who parted to allow him entrance the moment he approached. Placing a hand on the hilt of his saber, Morgan cocked a hip and tilted his head playfully to one side as he looked the Sailor in front of him, up and down. "Back talking again are we, Haze? My my, what shall we do with you indeed" he hummed out a amused little thought as the man in front of him pulled out his cutlass.

"There's nothing you can do, Klyne. It's my free right to let my opinions be known....to hell whether I'm on a pirate ship or not" the man responded with a healthy level of unfortunate pride in his voice. Something that had the crew around them snickering and Hugh snorting from his spot on the quarterdeck.

"If you say so" Morgan chuckled and just like that, the fight began. Although it couldn't be classified as an actual fight. All who were watching and knew him could tell that Morgan was not serious. Though his saber shone in the light with a deadly sheen, his strikes lacked fire behind them or deadly intent. If anything he wa simply dodging and countering the swipes from the other man. This could have very well classified as a warm up for him or even a minor lesson in respect the way Morgan usually went about it. However, by no means was it serious. Had it been serious, there was a hands down guarantee that the sailor would be dead in a matter of moments.

Keeping his movements smooth and flowing, Morgan almost looked like an avenging angel with his red Captain's coat swishing around his legs and honestly, that's probably where his nickname of "Avenging Angel" came from. The smirk on his face remained firmly on his face as he parred attack after attack and found great amusement in the cheers and whoops of his crew around him. It was a entertaining way to pass the time and as long as too much blood was not spilled, the. He didn't have anything to worry about. At least until they reached the island they were searching for or if they ran into unplanned disturbances.

Seconds turned into moments and by the time a healthy 10 minutes had passed, the Sailor found himself down on the deck of the ship, his rear cushioning his fall, and Morgan's saber's tip pressed lightly against his throat while the crew exchanged knowing looks and playful shoulder bumps. "Do you yield?" Morgan asked playfully, amusement twinkling in his golden eyes as the sailor growled out his consent and raised his hands in a surrendering manner.

Winking playfully at the male, Morgan stepped back calmly and sheathed his saber with the same grace and flow to his movements as what he had on a every day basis. "Alright, ya lazy rags! Back to work, we don't have the time to be goofing around! We have to keep the Black Night sailing beautifully until we reach our destination!" Morgan shouted out towards his crew, laughing silently as everyone seemed to jump into action and scrambled to go back to their stations. Even the sailor had no quarrels in lifting his cutlass from the ground and hurrying off.

Watching with fondness towards the men he had sailed so many years with already, Morgan shook his head before walking off down the deck towards the front of the ship. Without hesitation st all, he hopped onto the railing of the very front of the ship, letting his legs dangle out into the thin air and leaned back on his hands to enjoy the cool breeze around him.

The distance wasn't terribly long, which was dreadfully nice for the merman. He arrived shortly at the black ship, poking his head out of the water to gawk at its size. If this were a sunken ship, it certainly would have given him plenty to explore, he was sure of that. And it was in marvelous condition, too. But, that was to be expected. It wasn't at the bottom of the sea rotting away beneath the waves.

Kairi wanted to get a better look.

The young merman swam over to the side of the ship, getting much closer. He went over to the jacob's ladder on the side of the ship before cautiously gripping onto it with his hands and hoisting himself up. It was difficult for him to climb the ladder, seeing as he had no legs, but eventually Kairi figured out a system. He would pull himself up with his arms and rest by sitting on the footstep of the ladder before going again and bringing himself up another foot. Sheesh, these things seem so difficult to use and impractical, he thought to himself, eventually getting closer to the railing of the ship where he stopped his climb.

He didn't want to be spotted or fall onto the deck or anything.

Still, he listened carefully as some of the men aboard the ship spoke to one another. They spoke English, which was nice. Some of their voices were funny, but it wasn't hard for the merman to remember the voices. Which lines went to which sounds--which person had which pitch or tone. The "captain", as one of the men had addressed him, had an interesting voice, too. It wasn't scraggly and gross sounding, it was actually... well... pleasant. Kairi liked his voice--for a human, anyway. Though the voice of the one who had first spoken to the captain was nice, too. And Kairi liked the cute voice of the "little mouse" as well. It was kind of adorable in its own way. For a non-mermaid.

What was a mouse, anyway?

As he listened, he only grew more and more curious. These people spoke in unknown tongue. "Captain" and "mouse". What were they talking about?

The merman was starting to tingle with curiosity. It was beginning to get the best of him. So far it didn't seem too dangerous. The "captain" was upset with the "mouse", but it had nothing to do with merfolk. As far as Kairi could tell, he was safe. And so the young merman gently gripped onto the railing of the ship and poked his head up into view to get a good look at what was going on. His tousled black hair would probably go unnoticed, as he was still barely in view anyway as he spied on the group.

There they were. A bunch of people, with their silly not-flippers. Wearing clothing like he often found in the ruins of ships, wielding blades that looked all too familiar to the male. His weapons were different--but not by much. Admittedly Kairi would sometimes snatch a knife from a skeleton at the bottom of the sea and use it to cut ropes or defend himself from a shark. The merman pursed his lips as he watched the blond-haired captain use his sword as a spar broke out between he and what Kairi assumed was the "mouse". And, for several moments, he was silent in his awe.

Never before had he seen people fight--on their funny little legs. And never before did he think people could be... graceful. Or so fun to watch. Kairi's intent gaze was locked upon the "mouse" who tried to defend himself against the "captain", but he clearly was outmatched by the blond pirate's skill. The fight was quickly over, but Kairi was still awestruck by the spectacle he'd just bore witness to. Marvelous, truly marvelous. These pirates were fascinating, truly. His mermaid friend was really missing out on quite the show!

The merman couldn't help but to grin in all of his excitement.

Watching, the "captain" began to bark orders at the "rags". What another odd term. Kairi could have sworn rags were a type of cloth, not the name for other people. And they had to keep the "Black Night" sailing? There was no black night sailing. Silly guy. It was broad daylight!

Humans were so dumb.

Kairi shook his head a little as the captain walked away toward the front of the ship. Their destination... that, too, had gotten Kairi's attention. Where were they headed? Surely people as fun as these guys were going somewhere interesting, right? Would it be dangerous? Kairi hoped so! These pirates seemed dangerous, even if they said silly things like "mouse" and "rags" and "black night" when clearly it was daytime.

He gripped the railing of the ship still, but turned his head to look back down at the water from where he was seated. The salty wind whipped his ebony locks about his face, though his dark eyes were fixed upon the water. They say and do such interesting things, I want to stay and keep watching, he thought. But I'm also terribly curious where they're going. I wonder if I could get there before them? Or are they going on land? That's no fun. But I surely want to stick around this ship. Then again, if I keep swimming nearby, I won't get to see these funny pirates beat each other up. He frowned a little at the saddening thought. But I also reduce my chances of getting seen, caught, and gutted like a fish. That is what they do to fish,

isn't it? I'd rather not risk it.

Kairi released his grip from the railing of the ship and pushed away from the mighty vessel, diving back into the water and beneath the waves. He was a trouble maker and always looking for danger, but he knew he'd be as good as dead if he got stuck on a boat with no way to escape. He wasn't that reckless...

It honestly didn't take them too much longer to reach the island they had been sailing towards. Heck, they had left port weeks ago and though Morgan would have loved to arrive sooner at least they were finally here. Straightening up and stretching from his spot leaning against the banister of the quarterdeck where he had moved to after a few hours of gazing out at the ocean from the front of the ship, Morgan flickered his eyes down at the feeling of something brushing against his leg. Gazing up at him with bright, intelligent forest green eyes was a creature that Morgan adored with all his heart and would protect with all his might. Many may have thought it silly for a Captain of a pirate ship to have such a soft spot for something that wasn't even human, but Morgan nor his crew cared about the opinions of the outside world.

The medium sized black cat that gracefully leaped up onto the railing of the banister Morgan had been leaning against, was his most precious treasure as of yet....aside from The Black Night, that was. When he had first spotted the cat, she had been nothing more than a ragged, thin fluff of fur wandering the deserted streets of a port popularly inhabited by pirates. She had been a friendly little thing, running over to him eagerly the moment he had crouched down and offered her a hand with a piece of fish in it. The kitten had devoured the food he had offered her and from that moment on, she had stuck like glue to his side during his duration at port, even going as far as sneaking onto the ship when they had finally sailed off. At first the crew and Morgan himself had been rather surprised at the appearance of the kitten on the ship, but they had all come to love her affectionate and adventure loving nature and she had become just another member of their family.

Caliban had saved them multiple times, and had quickly made everyone believe the rumors that having a black cat onboard with them was probably one of the luckiest things they could have. She had knack of being able to tell them subtle changes to come in the weather around them and despite her size, she was not afraid to help her crew out in fights with other ships. She was a prized member of the crew and Morgan's trusted, faithful companion, something no one ever questioned anymore.

Stroking his lean fingers down the soft fur of her back, Morgan chuckled hearing Cali's delighted purr from her perch on the railing. Absentmindedly stroking his cat's fur, Morgan glanced over as a shadow was cast over both of them under the slowly setting sun. It really never surprised him that just like Caliban, Hugh had a way of always being by his side. These two were his best friends after all, and the Captain wouldn't have it any other way.

"There's the island, Captain...what's the plan?" Hugh asked, eyeing the gradually enlarging piece of land that their ship was sailing towards.

Following his second's gaze, Morgan examined the piece of land for a few moments before his golden eyes landed on what appeared to be a shipwreck that was half in and half out of the water at the far right end of the island. "We sail towards the shipwreck. Rumor is that the treasure is still safely hidden in the Captain's quarters. No ones been able to get to it yet and all who try have died" he replied.

"Well yes I can imagine why, the half that's holding the damned Captains quarters in under bloody water, Captain! How do you plan of accomplishing something that all others have failed to do? We can't afford to have you die; the crew needs you. Not to mention your father and his crew will have our heads on stakes if we let anything happen to you!" Hugh responded, exasperation making him raise his voice a bit and glare at the slightly shorter male.

"You honestly have so little faith in me, Hugh. Trust me, I know what I'm doing and I'm not going to die. I still have much planned ahead for my life, a shipwreck is not going to ruin my plans" Morgan chuckled, looking over at his friend before lifting a hand to gently place in upon the man's shoulder. "I'll be fine....besides, like I said before, we've done stupider things than this before" he gently reassured him.

Grumbling under his breath, Hugh shook his head and turned his head away mumbling "I'm coming after you if you take longer than needed".

Grinning cheerfully at Hugh, Morgan turned his attention forward once again, not even flinching when Cali climbed her way up to his shoulder, her all time favorite perch to have. It took them several more moments to reach the wreck and by then the sun had begun to set below the horizon. "I would prefer you wait until morning to do this, but I would be speaking to a brick wall if I even tried to convince you" Hugh grumbled watching Morgan calmly slip out of his coat and drape it over the banister. Next was his weapons, his boots and his black feathered hat.

"You know me too well, old friend" Morgan chuckled, bending down to place a loving kiss upon Cali's head before turning and striding down the stairs. "I'll be topside in a few moments, keep the ship steady for me while I take a look" he called over his shoulder. Sparing a few seconds to cast the worried, unease looks of his crew a quick reassuring grin, Morgan gracefully leapt up onto the railing of the left side of his ship before diving down neatly into the somewhat rather cold waters below.

The water was darker down here than it was from the ship, but that wasn't all too surprising. Sunlight didn't always reach too deep into the watery abyss he was resting his luck in. Keeping his mind steady and fear at bay, Morgan powerfully kicked down towards an opening inside the deck of the sunken part of the ship. Thankfully, the wreck had happened close to shore, so if he needed to escape the ship and reach the surface of the water above, it wouldn't take him too long. That and the fact that Morgan was notorious for being able to hold his breath a good long while, worked favors for him at the moment.

Squeezing his way through the hole, Morgan looked around a few seconds, wandering what direction to take before turning towards the back to the vessel where he imagined the quarterdeck would have once been located above. If his guess was right, the Captain's quarters should be located in the same spot as all the other ships and he'd have the treasure within sight in no time.

Being back in the water was nice as always. Even if he wasn't out for too long, there was always that nagging fear that he could dry out and die, something Kairi would much prefer to avoid. He continued sailing alongside the ship, however, curiosity still getting the best of him. And following the vessel about the ocean was as good as any other adventure of his, Kairi believed.

However, he was wrong. The ship just continued sailing, and sailing, and sailing... for what seemed like an eternity. And although Kairi still wanted to follow it, swimming around and doing nothing else all day was boring. So the merman often would swim around trying to catch other fish in his hands before releasing them again. The other fish didn't like being touched, and they didn't like Kairi for touching them, but he tried to explain it was all good fun and he just wanted to play "catch", nothing more. Although Kairi, like many merfolk, did eat fish at times, he was in the mood for clams and seaweed today. He didn't have malicious intent with the fish.

That didn't mean they weren't annoyed and tried leaving the area as quickly as they could, though.

Giving up, Kairi continued swimming alongside the ship. He was bored, and tired. Swimming all day was tiring, especially as the sun tipped down into the horizon and vanished from view, enveloping the world in darkness. To pass the time better, Kairi would sometimes sing to himself beneath the waves where nobody could hear. He enjoyed singing, it was a good pass time.

However, finally, after what seemed like a million years, the mighty vessel stopped sailing. It came to a halt, as an anchor was thrown, and Kairi knew they must have arrived at their destination! It didn't actually take as long as he'd thought it would. Considering it'd only been about a full day of sailing. As long as it seemed, Kairi knew of adventures that took months at a time, so he was able to realize just how short this one had been, indeed. Poking his head out of the water, the boy grew curious as to where they were planning on going, and his attention sparked when he recognized the island not too far from where the ship had stopped. It was harder to recognize with the darkening sky, but Kairi could still make out its silhouette, and he knew this area very well, anyway.

Mermaids had a tendency to know the ocean better than anyone else. Other sea creatures included, even.

Besides, this is where his treasure was! Kairi smiled a little to himself, dunking his head beneath the dark waves as his eyes changed colors. The dark hues of black shifted into white, glowing slightly in the dark and allowing him to see despite any source of light. Yeah, this was his sunken ship alright. Well, not his ship, but a ship that he and someone else had claimed, and his treasure was in it. But he'd never been to the island. Of course not, he was a merman, but he was curious if there was treasure on there as well. He wondered if the pirates had some sort of way to know where the treasure on the island was. Unless they were at the island for a different reason?

Kairi knew that people sometimes put their valuables where nobody could get them... On land.

But his theory was incorrect as he heard a splash! and saw a figure diving into the water. The merman's eyes widened for a moment and then he rose his eyebrow at the sight. In the darkness of the water, the captain was swimming toward his ship! Kairi's ship!! And his treasure!

Oh, this is not good, Kairi thought, swimming after the man. Of course, it was only natural that Kairi, being a merperson, was a faster and better swimmer, but still he fell behind in fear the man might see him. Though he wasn't sure exactly why he was cautious. It wasn't like human's guns worked under water. And even if he had his sword--the merman hadn't cared to notice if he did or didn't--humans probably couldn't see in the dark anyway! Still, he wanted to be cautious, knowing very well that there were sharks in the area.

And not just sharks.

Adratune.

Then again, it was Adratune that controlled the sharks. As he swam after the captain, Kairi stopped upon seeing a pair of glowing turquoise eyes emerge from the darkness. Being that Kairi could see in the dark as well with his powers activated, he saw exactly what--or, rather, who--it was. It was a siren. Male. Lurking dangerously close to the floor of the ship with an expression as deadly as ever. He locked his eyes upon Kairi dangerously, and the merboy held up his hands in defense. "Don't worry, I don't think he's here for your share," Kairi told the siren.

The two had a sort of deal. Kairi had claimed the treasure the ship already had for himself, and he made sure to contain everything he wanted within one room. Adratune, on the other hand, being a siren and a creature of the night, wanted to lurk about the wrecked ship and use it as his abode. It was his territory. And the siren also kept his valuables in this ship as well, though he placed his in a different section. Kairi would leave his belongings alone but be allowed to store whatever valuables he came across in the captain's room, while Adratune would tell his sharks to eat and attack anyone or anything that ventured too closely to their ship.

Needless to say, Adratune wasn't happy about the intrusion. Kairi was able to quickly assure him, however, and the siren seemed to back off a little. The merman quickly pursued the captain once more, following him as the blond swam toward the captain's quarters. Oh no, you don't, Kairi thought, swimming after him. You don't get to just take my belongings from my safe place, not while I'm around! I'll defend it like the proud merman that I am! He rushed past the captain, stopping and whipping around to face the man again once he was near the captain's room. Kairi placed himself between the captain and the door, his glowing eyes giving off a warning that something was there, and it was guarding the room. If the captain so much as dared to swim even an inch closer, Kairi would not hesitate to attack. He wasn't so afraid of this captain once they were in the water.

After all, now they were on Kairi's turf. And it was hard to beat a mermaid beneath the waves. Especially in the dark, too.

Swimming through a sunken vessel wasn't the easiest thing he could have done. Morgan had a field record of doing fairly ridiculous and ungodly things yet somehow, he always managed to get away with them. This particular task...he was beginning to have second thoughts of. It wasn't that he lacked confidence in himself, it was that he lacked confidence in his surroundings. Gods knew how long this sunken ship had been here or who had taken up residence in it, to say that it wasn't the most logical or safest thing he had ever done, would have been a severe understatement. However, Morgan had never allowed fear or uncertainty to guide his actions. He had heard from his father that his mother had been one of the bravest woman his old man had ever laid eyes on. To have a pirate fall in love with her, she must have been quite the jewel. Though he had not gotten a chance to spend too much time with her, Morgan strove to be just like her in terms of bravery and he wouldn't ever allow anything to scare him off. Unnerving sunken ship in the dark or not.

Pushing his way through debris and doing his best to barely spare a moments notice to the skeletal corpses, Morgan jumped a bit when he felt something rush past him as he neared the door that he assumed held the Captain's quarters. A fish perhaps? Then again, if it had been a fish, it must have been a fairly large one because it certainly didn't feel like anything small. A shark? If it had been a shark, the sandpaper skin would have given it away. Morgan doubted that it could have possibly been a dolphin, there would be no logic for such a creature to hang about within a sunken vessel. Maybe an eel....that could definitely be a possible culprit....but as far as Morgan knew, eels did not have glowing white eyes.

Freezing just a few feet from the door he had been heading towards, Morgan narrowed his golden eyes towards the two floating eyes he could just make out ahead of him. Logically, he knew eyes didn't float unless they were attached to a creature or person, so though he couldn't make the thing out, it was obvious that he had alerted something of his presence. Every instinct inside him was telling him to either get out of the ship or figure out a way around whatever was in front of him. However, running wasn't his style and figuring out a way to get around would waste the precious amount of oxygen he could hold inside his chest before he had to resurface. Neither of those options were acceptable to him.

So he did what he did best. After all, he wouldn't be a Captain if he didn't have ways to get past inconveniences.

Pulling up his left leg, Morgan slipped his fingers under the fabric of his black slacks and smoothly pulled loose a thin, small sized dagger he kept strapped to a holster against his calf for strict emergencies. Grasping into the handle of the relatively small blade, Morgan eyed the creature hidden in the darkness in front of him before daring himself to push his luck and swim closer. He was at a disadvantage, sure, but that didn't mean he would back down without a fight. Especially not when treasure was involved. Besides, if he left now, Hugh would never let him come back down.

With that thought in mind, Morgan shot forward with a powerful kick of his legs, dagger at the ready to swipe at the creature in front of him and get it out of his way.

Kairi swam in place for a while, growing tense at the idea of what may ensue, and he lowered his head slightly. He watched the man cautiously, quickly growing uneasy as the blond reached down to take out a knife that had been stowed away secretly beneath his clothing. Of course he would be armed. Well! No matter! Kairi would just have to treat him like another pesky swordfish!

However, the man quickly lunged at the merman, slashing his knife outward and forcing the half-fish to duck in order to avoid being slashed open. He backed away quickly, not having a weapon on him at the moment, and quickly knocked into the captain's door. He frowned a little before kicking his tail upward, slamming it into the man's chest and, with hope, would knock some wind out of him. It was the first thing he could think of, since he knew humans couldn't last too long in the water, anyway, and he did have a pretty strong kick. Most merfolk did, since they relied so heavily on their tails.

Still, he had a feeling that the captain wouldn't be taken down so easily just yet, and he quickly tried to swim out of the way before the man could make a second attack.

((ooc: sorry this one is short! I couldn't think of much else and I promise my next one will be longer >.
