Unnusual Arrangement {xAkachix and Shicchan}

[Shicchan]

Akihiko lightly blushed as he was called by the first name by the other. When did they get that close? Or what was the other’s strategy? To speak his first name until he got used to the idea? The dark head shivered at that creepy thought and shook his head, focusing on Wakuni’s reply.

 

Aki listened to him and found actually curious that the ginger was apparently a shy person? Or at least someone not sociable. That surprised him a little bit even though he thought he would only be as cold as he was when he was in an environment which wasn’t pleasing or comfortable for him. But in fact he was most likely a quiet and timid guy overall.

The dark head smirked softly at the extra information he got about the other’s nickname. He would make sure to use it in the right moment in the future. There was nothing little about that man, though.

 

“Alright, hot springs are always a great idea”, the dark head replied then continued. “Well, we can meet at my house and go have lunch somewhere before going to the springs”, Aki said.

 

“Saturday,12 PM at my place, then?”, he asked to finish this subject and hang up the phone, ending that subject for the time being.

Ryuu listened to the dark haired man taking that time to calm himself down and compose himself he needed to get out so as soon as this call was over he would call a couple of his close friends and go meet them for food and tell them everything that is happening Ryuu wasn't worried about them talking as they had been his friends for more years than he could count and kept all his secret.

 

"Agreed Saturday at 12 pm Nakamoto-san goodbye " taking a deep breathe Ryuu ended the call without waiting for a response he supposed Nakamoto might think him being rude but that was how he ended most calls.

 

Relief flooded Ryuu now that his call was over he had to be more careful He had never lost his composure like that around anyone for a long time not since he was a young teen lifting the phone in his hand he text his friends and so he went to shower and finish changing before going to the restaurant to meet them.

"Bye, Wakuni...san" the dark head mumbled the honorific. He wasn't used to using it with someone he didn't respect. But since the ginger used it it was too bitchy not to return it. It was por of politeness he had done it. He was a polite man after all.

 

Once they hung up, the dark head took in a deep breath and called his girlfriend. She was on her way and actually arrived ten minutes later.

The dark head woke up early on Saturday since he had slept on his girlfriend's place. He was very nervous and already bothered by what was to come.

 

Both of them had talked a lot about the subject and she managed to calm him down, at least a little bit. They weren't sure what they were going to do about their own relationship but honestly, both of them didn't want to stay apart.

 

Akihiko took a shower then went back home and got ready to go on his... first date with his fiancé.

 

In any case, he dressed up nicely, black jeans, dark gray shirt and he dried his long hair decently, thinking of cutting it. Those thoughts distracted him and killed time as he waited for Ryuu.

 

In no time, the doorbell rang and he went to the door meet his guest.

Ryuu spent the next the next few days with his friends trying to get used to the idea he had a male fiancee and he was about to marry a man and spend the whole day and night together he felt nervous.

 

Ryuu dressed smartly in tan khaki's and a like light green shirt and his favorite shoes and packed a small carry case for his night away with Nakamoto.

 

Getting into his car he drove to Nakamoto's residence and parking went to his door and took a moment to compose himself then stood straight and let his cool calm in different Mask cross his face and Knocked on the door.

Akihiko got up from his bed and checked if his small suitcase was closed before getting it and walking up to the door while holding it. His butler greeted him on the way and wished the young man good luck. She also told him to fix the hair, which he chuckled and shook his head, making it a little more messy. It was still stylish, though.

 

He met his mother and kissed her forehead. She smiled and returned the gesture. "Have fun. And give him at least a chance to be nice, alright?", Takako said and Aki nodded. "Yes, mother". She nodded. "Now go", the older lady gently pushed her boy's back, making him smile then do as she said. After all, she was a good mother.

 

The dark head opened the door himself for the taller ginger male, looking up at him with a calm expression. "Hey", he greeted informally.

Ryuu caught his breath as Nakamoto was framed in the doorway he,s just answered Ryuu cast a quick curious glance at the dark haired male taking him in and smiled a little.

 

Nakamoto was dressed smart and his hair was stylishly messy it looked good on Nakamoto Ryuu was a little shocked at that thought.

 

 

Ryuu returned his attention to the here and now and was somewhat startled into a slight smile that pulled at the corner of his lips by the informal greeting he certainly wasn't expecting that he was expecting more of the same formal polite distance from Nakamoto so this was a pleasant surprise.

 

 

" Hello are you ready to go, " he asked his voice a low deep rumble.

 

 

Noticing the small suitcase he took it from Nakamoto in an effort to show he could be nice too and showed him to his Black sedan and placed his case with my small carry bag in the boot of the car.

 

 

" Please take a seat he, " he said pointing to the front seat next to the driver's seat as he walked round to his side of the car.

 

 

" Did you have any specific place you would like to eat be fore we head out to the mountains",

Akihiko was surprised by the sight of actual expression on the taller male's face. And he even smiled! He could smile! It was great to know his future husband could look like a human!

 

The dark head didn't want to admit but the other looked nice in khaki. He nodded at his question and thanked him for taking his suitcase without he even asking him to.

 

"Oh, there's a great udon place on the way to the mountains. It has a pretty garden and the katsudon is awesome", he told and smiled a little bit. He would treat this guy as someone he'd like to befriend. That was usually the best way to start, right?

 

Once they got in the car, he buckled up and sighed softly. "So, how have you been?", he asked.

Ryuu felt himself relax a little around the dark haired male and decided to try and get to know him better so he listened and watched Nakamoto putting on his seat belt.

 

" Udon sounds great I, ll drive but I, ll need you to give me directions please," he said as he slid his seat belt in place and started the car and pulled out and back onto the road.

 

Ryuu didn't want to want to admit it but he liked the Nakamoto's hair was kinda messy and his clothes looked amazing on him it was a strange feeling for Ryuu to have.

 

" Honestly nervous and hesitant I have spent the past few days with friends just trying to sort everything out in my head and spending time with my Grandmother as she has good and bad days not many people are aware but her health is slowly getting worse so anything I can do to make her happy and less stressed I will do without a second thought or regret,how have you been ?".

The dark head listened to the other curiously and nodded as he referred to directions. "Yes, of course." Aki said. He had been to that place so many times before... Even the chef knew his first and last name and he usually gave him a special treat for being such a regular customer. He didn't mind it was far from his house. In fact, that place was close to where he worked at as well as the road they had to take to get to the hot springs.

 

So far, they were pretty okay. There were no insults, no fights, no nothing. Actually, he got a few smiles from Ryuu. Even if they were not complete big ones, they were still smiles and were appreciated.

 

As he started to speak about his grandmother's health, Akihiko looked at him with a slightly worried expression. "I hope she gets better". Was all he could say about it. About the way he spent his days, Aki didn't want to talk about what he did himself, so simply nodded to those facts. "I understand the feeling", he said, leaning back against his seat and inhaling.

 

Once he exhaled, he shrugged. "I've been okay. I've been focusing on work to get less tense about the whole thing". He admitted then smiled a bit. "The things we do for family, right?".

Ryuu listened and cast a few glances at Nakamoto while he was driving being careful to follow his guides directions carefully as he was driving he noticed that he never talked about himself and Ryuu got the idea into his head that he was hiding something from him but why would he they were going to be married and the whole point of this trip was to get to know each other.

 

Ryuu was trying to be nice and be on his best behaviour so he pushed away his concerns and reservations about Nakamoto hiding something from him and he left his full smile to take over his face it was hard for him to let it out for strangers but he wanted to show Nakamoto he appreciated hi words regarding his grandmother.

 

Ryuu,s smile sort of transformed his face and made him almost into a completely different person his eyes would brighten and his smile was somewhat shy and lopsided that brought out a hidden dimple in his left cheek.

 

" If we didn't do things for family or the people we love who would you do it for " he responded off handily.

 

" I am sorry you were brought into this especially as unprepared and without warning as you were and I am very glad you came today Nakamoto, if there was any other way I would release from this burden and carry it myself " he said this last more quietly and feeling embarrassed he turned the car radio on low and went back to being quiet slowly being out the theme song to a popular game that he had been playing the night before with his friends.

Aside from the whole thing with his girlfriend, the dark head never really liked to talk about himself with people he didn’t trust or felt like they should listen to his stories. The dark head was good at talking and interacting socially because that was what he was raised for, to be a diplomatic and sociable person who can always pull out the best deals for their company and status.


And again, here was Aki, going on his first trip with his male fiancé. One of the things that most bothered him about the situation is that he couldn’t talk his way out of it, nor find a better way to solve the issue based on conversation.

 

His thoughts were stopped by the sight of a totally different person who sat beside him. The dark head’s mouth got slightly opened and his eyes widened at the other’s smile. Who the hell was what and what did he do to Ryuu? Geez, he never thought /that/ guy would be able to show this kind of face… That was… Surprising.

 

As Wakuni spoke up again, he had to reorganise his thoughts. He cleared his throat and nodded. “Y-yeah”, was all he could mutter in response to the first answer he got. Nakamoto sighed softly and nodded at what he said. “Don't worry, it’s my duty too and I’m sure I would do the same as you if I could.” Aki said and hesitated at the song. It was from his favourite game series. He had always been a game nerd but never let anyone really get to know that side of him. It would be embarrassing for the reputation of the family. He leaned against the window and continued to calmly tell the directions.

Ryuu Hummed along with the song the words flowing past his lips unconsciously without realizing until he was mid way through the song by which time he felt embarrassed but tried to remain calm he figured it was better the dark haired male found out now rather than later that he liked gaming.

 

He turned to Nakamoto and spoke hurriedly.

 

" I err this is a favorite song of mine I,m a bit of a gamer and I really like this song its from a new gaming series that came out and is quite popular I don't usually share stuff about myself in general especially with strangers but I guess since we are about to be married and most likely living together I thought I may as well share this with you it is why we are doing this, after all, to learn about each other".

 

He pulled into a small car park just them by the udon place the dark haired male had directed them too and got out of the car waiting for Nakamoto to take the lead since it was his suggestion he walked quietly beside for little ways his hands stuffed into pockets.

Akihiko’s eyes widened as he heard the other humming to the lyrics of the song… Could that possibly mean Wakuni was a gamer? Or at least a fan of these game series? The dark head did his best to keep his composure and act like an elegant gentleman who was not even close to the true fanboy he was.

 

However, the response he got from the ginger made the whole posture go away. The dark head slipped his hand into his pocket to get his phone. He unlocked it without saying a word then showed the wallpaper to his fiancé. It was a really cool picture of his favorite character from the game, the elven gunner girl.

 

“No way! Gamer Wakuni, best Wakuni", he teased then spoke up again. "I've been a big fan of this ever since I got into video games, to be honest”, the shorter male admitted as he led them to the restaurant. He grinned. “Who’s your main?”, he asked straight away, the black pair of eyes seemed to shine like a kid’s during Christmas.

 

Once they got in, Aki happily greeted the owner and presented Ryuu to her, not really specifying their relationship, just saying ‘this is Ryuu-san’ and that’s all. She didn’t question further and led them to a table at the balcony, the nearest to the fountain. The boy thanked the elder lady and looked through the menu.

Ryuu looked surprised at Nakamoto and gaped a moment in utter shock unable to hide his shock that Nakamoto that he was also a gamer and they liked the same game he actually really liked the character he played but he had his own favorite.

 

" I play a high elf archer actually " Ryuu ducked his head bashfuly and smild walking beside the smaller dark haired male.

 

 

He entered the shop and watched as Nakamoto interacted with the owner and his lips twitched again he had never expected to see this side of the dark haired male he actually liked this side of the man

 

Ryuu greeted the elderly woman with a friendly smile and they had a pleassant meal

"No way! I love to play as him too! But I still prefer Lyre (gunner girl name)", the dark head said with a grin. That was a really pleasing surprise, to know they actually had something in common that they didn't have to fight over. They could both appreciate the game series and have nice discussions about it. Aki was happy.

 

Their lunch turned out to be really nice, in matters of both food and talking. Of course, all they did talk about was the game series. Akihiko was a huge nerd of that and got really excited whenever he met anyone who played it too and liked it.

 

Once they were done, the elder lady surprised them with a dessert she only prepared to the clients she liked and knew well. She brought a tray of handmade traditional Japanese sweets for the two. Akihiko thanked her a lot. "We got lucky today, Wakuni~ These are the best". He smiled happily.

Ryuu hadn't felt this relaxed around anyone that he was newly acquainted with ever he felt his lips pulling into a natural full smile he kept reserved for those he truly let near those he considered family even if they weren't blood there was so few of those and he honestly was beginning to think that over time this male may actually become another even if they were just friends.

 

With their mutual ground established he wondered if they had more in common there personalities were certainly different as well as their appearances but that was to be expected they were their own individual person.

 

he watched Nakamoto's face light up when he saw the old lady return with desserts in her hands and he listened as she set down the Japanese sweets his face lit up like a eager child as he recognised some of his most favorite sweets sitting before him he smiled even wider and brushed his lips to the old ladies cheek and thanked her gratefully for some of his favourite treats that he hadn't had for years very few knew of his liking for sweets and desserts only those who had known him for years.

 

he tasted the sweets slowly savouring each morsel he placed into his mouth and his eyes rolled back in his head and his eyes fell shut and his face displayed the utter pleasure that filled him at the bursts of flavour crossing over his tongue.

 

" Oh My this is truly divine I am beginning to understand your love of this place its warm, friendly the food and the people are amazing and the desserts are out of this world thank you for this Akihiko" Ryuu had used his given name without realising it he was lost in the simple pleasure before him and he couldn't hide how happy he was right at the moment his guards that he always kept up around strangers were for the most part completely down and he was letting the dark-haired male see more of his true self than he planned but he would worry about that later on.

Akihiko was also having a blast while eating the sweets. However, the dark head couldn’t help but notice how happy and different the Wakuni seemed as he ate and tasted the dessert. He found himself observing the ginger male’s smiling face for some moments then had to force himself to look back down at the plate, choosing what to eat next.

 

This kind of situation reminded him of his lover and it felt weird. The thought didn’t keep him from having a good time. It just made him wonder. He did find Ryuu and attractive person while smiling or acting nice, just like he was now. But still, he was a man. The dark head chuckled and grinned, focusing on the other’s reactions to the food. Those were things he would have to deal with later on.

 

Aki hesitated as he was called by his first name. That was also something he would have to learn to do… It wouldn’t hurt trying to accept, right?

 

He was slightly jealous of how easily the other allowed himself to get comfortable and enjoy that moment. One of Akihiko’s worst problems was to overthink. And by overthinking, he usually worries more about what’s to come and forgets to appreciate what’s happening in the moment.

 

Good thing he was great at keeping those insecurities behind a thick and very convincing mask.

 

“I’m really glad you’re enjoying it… Ryuu”, he spoke in a happy way. “Should we take some with us to the thermals?”, the shorter male suggested.

Ryuu watched Aki out the corner of his eye he watched as he was lost in thought watching him he could tell that the other was thinking too hard and worrying a little he found that he didn't like that He didn't want the smaller male to over think and worry about what was happening or going to happen in the future .

 

He lit up his eyes going warm when the other said his name the lines across his forehead had lessened a little and Ryuu realised like much like himself the other hid behind a mask whether to keep himself safe from others or like himself he was just too awkward interacting with people away from work but that didn't seem right either it didn't seem to fit what he was slowly learning about the dark haired male.

 

Thank you very much it has been a long time since I had such fine treats and If it is possible I would indeed enjoy taking some with us to the thermals.

 

He wanted to watch as the smaller male requested more he waited till it was just him and the other before speaking again.

 

" You know don't have to think so hard with me or worry if something is troubling you or you're worried about whats going to happen or how we are going to handle this you can talk to me, I can see you struggle with something and you hide it well but your brow wrinkles when you think to hard we can go slow and just take one day at a time and I hope maybe be friends I like you and the more I learn about you the more I like and respect you your not what I expected at all and I don't feel as worried about whats happening as much as I did ".

 

He falls quiet as the older lady returns and he sits back letting the dark-haired male think over what he has said and waits quietly watching the other and the rest of the room unsure of what to do next so he decides to take his cues from the other.

Akihiko actually blushed at the sight of the other’s expression completely change as he called him by his first name. He wouldn’t expect such a change because of something so simple. He regained his composure and smiled.

 

“No need to thank me. I’m glad I could be in a place like this with you”, the younger male said, trying not to overthink again. “And we’ll take a decent amount of those with us for sure”, he chuckled.

 

As Waku—Ryuu started to once again tell him embarrassing stuff, Aki felt like he would blush again yet in maybe even a little bit of shame this time. He felt very weird about being complimented by him. He also hated when people managed to see through what he didn’t want them to. The dark head sighed and nodded, smiling a bit. “Thank you for the worry. I appreciate your compliments. However, there’s not much you can do about this… I overthink too much”, he admitted, apologetically. “If it bothers you, I’m truly sorry. I’ll try to focus more on what’s happening now instead of… Simply worrying”.

 

Akihiko sighed and smiled. “You're not that bad, Wakuni”, he teased playfully. “Well, we should get going. We should get there before sundown”, the dark head said and talked to the old lady, asking her to pack some sweets for them, which she did quickly.

 

Aki paid for their lunch, not even letting Ryuu get his wallet. “You're my guest for lunch”, he told and smiled. “Shall we get going?”.

Ryuu watched the other a mix of emotions he felt like a idiot for saying what he said he just didn't want to the other to feel under pressure to do and say the right thing he wanted to let him know he wasn't alone and that if he needed to talk he could share his worries with him, as usual, he had made a mess of things and had not clue what to do to make amends he felt awkward and stood as Aki paid.

 

" I,ll agree on the stipulation you let me pay next time " he spoke but as he did his mask fell over his face he smiled but this time it was not the open joyful smile but his simply pleasant one he didn't mean for it to be but when he felt awkward it was sort of a defensive mechanism.

 

He smiled warmly to the lady owner and said good and walked back to the car with Aki unlocking the as they got close so Aki could climb straight inside he watched as Aki climbed in and took a moment to compose himself taking a few deep breaths and settling his nervous he like Aki was worried about this he had no idea how to live with another person.

 

" I was wondering do you like cats, " he asked as he got in he wanted to find that middle ground again where they were both level and they could talk.

 

" I have two of them and I was wondering if I could bring them or if I would need to leave them with my grandparents , but I guess we don't have to worry about that just yet I guess I was curious " he glanced at the other briefly and he reversed before pulling out back on to the road and heading deeper into the moutains.

Akihiko smiled as he didn’t complain about him paying for their lunch. It was the least he could do. Wakuni was already driving their way there, with his car and his gas, consequently. He knew how expensive gas could be and he didn't want to make him do more than necessary. “Good”, he said sincerely.

 

The dark head thanked the elder lady happily and she pulled him down to kiss his forehead, in a motherly way. “Take care, Akkun”, she said and he lightly blushed at the childish nickname. “Thank you. You too, obaa-san”, he replied and said his goodbyes, hoping his husband-to-be wouldn’t use that name to tease him.

 

He got into the car holding the bag of sweets and buckled up, closing the door. He didn’t notice the intense staring.

 

Aki looked up at Wakuni as he spoke up again and chuckled at the question. “I like cats”, he replied sincerely. “They’ll be very welcome”, he said honestly. “How are they? And what are their names?”, the boy asked curiously.

Ryuu pulled out his cell phone and clicked a few buttons and held it out eyes carefully focused on the road as he drove with care. On the screen, there was three cats one black with white paws and bow shaped white patch under his nose, a black with more white that covered his shoulders belly and legs and then a pure ginger cat that was fatter and smaller than the others.

 

" The one with the bow on his face is Tetsu, the black and white is Nyx and the ginger one is puddin he,s the runt I found him soaked and partially starved in a box near where I work"

 

he drew his cell back and laid it on his lap as he used his other hand to drive and he spoke quietly " do you have any pets "

he was curious if the other had any pets himself he slowed and signaling turned onto the road that would lead them to there final destination he was getting nervous he wanted to talk to one of his friends at the very least clear his head he felt out of sorts he liked the dark haired man which he hadn't expected and the more he learned the more he respected the other but he also found his frustrating as he held everything so close to his chest.

 

He listened to Aki and got the feeling there was so much more hidden beneath the surface he knew he shouldn't care it was a marriage of convenience but it did seem to matter to me.

Akihiko held he phone carefully and looked at the pictures of the cats and couldn’t help but smile softly at the sight of them. Cats were a soft spot for him, he really loved those little felines. “Gosh, they’re adorable. Pudding looks so squeezable”, he admitted with a small chuckle, handing the phone back to the driver.

 

“In my family’s house, we have a Hachi, a big Akita dog. He’s beige and fluffy”, he smiled. “I used to have a cat at my place but it was getting too lonely so he’s now making Hachi company back at my parents’.” He replied with a small sight. “Her name is Chika, and she’s a calico cat”, the shorter male informed with a happy smile.

 

He really missed Chika’s company at his place but she seemed saddened whenever he left for work so that was cruel to do to her.

 

After more or less an hour they arrived at the hotel. Once the car was parked, Aki got out of it and stretched himself, cracking his back then leaving a soft sigh out through his nose.

Having arrived at the hotsprings he started to feel nervous he got out of the car with the dark haired male and smiled at him as he stretched himself making sure to stretch his hands over his head his long auburn hair fell down his back somewhat escaping from its tie he sighs and undoes the tie and turning as the wind blew the auburn hair blew out behind him like flames of a fire he quickly retied his hair the shirt pulling tight over the fine muscles of his arms ,chest and stomach and across his back-

 

lowering his hands he moved to the boot of the car and retieved both sets of luggage he threw his over night bag and his lap top bag over his shoulder and carried the others and locking and alarming the car headed for the main entrance being careful to kep in step with the others stride.

 

" shall we book in and get settled first before we make any further plans for tonight ?"

 

He walked listening as he went to the desk and gave the woman there all the booking details got directions to there room and gathered there keys and other information they needed when there meals would be offered what time the baths shut and opened and such he smiled and thanked the lady and lead the way to there room questly he wasn't sure now he was here what was going to happen or what he should do he hated not having a firm outline but this was something that they had to do together.

Akihiko actually took a glance as the other stretched, after all there was a lot happening when the ginger stretched. The dark head did admit to himself that man is attractive but still... he was a man. And he was the son of his rivals in the market. He had been taught to hate him ever since he was born. But now... how was supposed to love him? He already had his lover and didn't want to break up with her. At all.

 

Was duty more important than someone's well being? And their own love choices? Even if it wasn't honest, he would suggest they would only be a fictional couple but in truth, they would have their own respective lovers.

 

But that wasn't the time to suggest that. Maybe later that evening. After a good bath in the thermals.

 

He helped the tall male get the things from the trunk and followed him into the hotel. He thanked the lady and looked up at Ryuu with a raised brow. "Night plans?", he curiously asked, feeling a shiver run down his back. What the hell was he gonna do? Aki rubbed the back of his head, maybe he was actually freaking out too much about nothing. That guy didn’t like him and he didn’t think he would try to make a move on him without his consent.

 

"I'd rather go to the rooms, leave our luggage then go straight to the thermals”, the younger male said with a smile as they walked after the lady who showed the way to their… Single room with a double futon.

 

The dark head looked at it and thanked the lady, sighing at the lack of sleeping privacy they would have. It was just one or two nights, that would be smooth if none of them created a weird atmosphere.

 

“Left side is mine”, Akihiko stated and walked up to it, placing his things down. It was the side that faced the sliding door that led to the corridor where they took off and left their shoes at.
