It was a cool fall evening when Jiro made his way to the old shrine in the woods with camera in hand. He had heard stories of ghosts being spotted in the area and wanted to be the first to get a picture of one. Brr. I should have worn a jacket. He thought as the wind came whipping through the trees. He hadn't realized how long of a walk it was to the shrine and was now beginning to get a little chilled.

When he finally made it to the shrine, a rain began to set in so he quickly took shelter inside. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he began to look around. This isn't as interesting as I thought it would be. It's just a broken down old shrine. As he walked through the corridor, it began to seem more and more like a maze. Just when he was beginning to get worried, he happened upon the front doors.

With great relief he made his way back outside. Shock overcame him when he saw the scenery had changed. Everything looked so new. The overgrown stone path was cleared away and the unkempt courtyard was beautifully trimmed back and cared for. Out of fear he quickly ran back inside, but the inside had changed as well. It was no longer dark, but now lit up with candles. Three monks stared back at him with surprise at his sudden way of bursting into the shrine.

Quickly he turned and ran as far as he could from the shrine. He didn't understand what was happening, but he knew he had to get away. It was quite some time before he finally collapsed out of sheer exhaustion. He rolled over on his back as he laid there, panting heavily, completely unaware that there was a wolf caught in a trap no more than three yards away from him.

my art isn't the best, sorry(also if he's from the past he's probably in a different outfit?)

Name: Raptor Blake

Age: 19

Height: 6'4"

Wolf Form:

(he's probably a bit bigger than that)

He was hungry that was all that was on his mind as he ran after deer he had spotted maybe an hour ago but damn he couldn't catch it, it was running so fast well he supposed it had to after all its life depended on it. Still he kept chasing it, barely paying any attention to his surroundings only watching for any falling logs that may stand in his way, 'Almost' the deer was only a few inches away and as he pressed his paws down hard to pounce at his prey a large metal trap closed around his one leg.

He shook violently as pain shot through his entire body, he carefully moved so he could inspect whatever had caught him 'A bear trap, shit!' he couldn't get it off in his wolf form but if he turned into a human it would only hurt so much more and he would probably end up losing more blood so for now he was stuck.

It could have been minutes or even hours before he smelt something strange, this smell was different, it was a human he was sure but it wasn't like the others he had encountered, it wasn't too far away but he couldn't move around enough to see if it was around.

A minute or two pasted before he decided to get the person's attention, he held his head up high and howled but he was still in a lot of pain so it might have sounded more like a pained whine but it would do, hopefully the human would investigate instead of running away scared like most.

Jiro stiffened upon hearing the pained howl of a wolf. He could tell it was quite close and where there's one wolf, there's a whole pack. 'Just my luck,' he thought as he laid as still as possible. Maybe if he stayed quiet they would go away.

He waited one minute, then two, then three. Still there was no noise, no rustling in the leaves. With little confidence, he slowly rolled over and lifted his head to look around. "Ah!" quickly he placed his hands over his mouth, but not before a scared yelp escaped his lips. Standing there before his eyes was the biggest wolf he had ever seen. Luckily it's back was towards him.

Upon slowly regaining his composure, Jiro had another look at the wolf and could see it's foot was stuck in a trap. His fear was replaced with a feeling of empathy. He had made up his mind to help, but first he scouted the area to make sure there were no other wolves in the area. He slowly began to inch his way towards the wounded creature after making sure it was safe, or safer. How safe could it be getting close to a wolf? "Th-there there mister wolf. I'll have you free in one moment... Just promise not to eat me, ok?" he spoke meekly as came around the side of the wolf.

It seemingly took the human a moment to make a decision, his ears perked up at the noise that came from the human that was quickly covered, it was probably scared. Patiently the wolf waited as he heard the slow footsteps coming from behind him.

Raptor decided it best to remain calm and make no sudden movements as he didn't know if the human would leave if he were to do something wrong.

The boy spoke and made his way into the wolf's view, though he was hungry he wouldn't eat someone who helped him so he looked at the boy and gave him a curt nod of reassurance whether the boy believed that he wouldn't be eaten or not he couldn't tell.

His leg began to grow numb which was not a good sign so he looked back at his leg and whined, hoping the boy would hurry and get the damn trap off.

Jiro was taken aback by the nod. Could this wolf understand him? He had never heard of a wolf who could so he couldn't be too sure of the answer, but it was somewhat comforting to think that maybe he did understand. At the very least he could tell the wolf knew he meant no harm.

When he heard the whine, he looked at the hurt let which was trapped. The wound looked painful and deep. He hoped it didn't go so deep as to reach bone. "Oh s-sorry. I'll be quick." He spoke as he crept closer all the while staying low to the ground to make sure the wolf knew he wasn't going to harm him.

As he reached towards the trap, Jiro took one final look at the wolf to make sure it was safe. He then grabbed it with both hands to pry it apart. It took all his strength just to open the trap even slightly, but it was just enough for the wolf to free himself.

Pain shook through him as he held the trap open. It was cutting into his fingers, and yet he still would not let go until the wolf was free. "Hurry!" he exclaimed through clenched teeth. The pain brought tears to his eyes, but he was determined to see it through to the end.

Thankfully he seemed to understand and said he would be quick, true to his word he went over to the trap immediately after, hopefully the boy would be able to open the trap after all he didn't look like much but who knows.

The other looked at him momentarily before finally trying to pry the trap open, he couldn't feel the trap's teeth being removed from his leg due to the numbness but he could see it, he would have to move quick since it didn't look like the raven haired boy would be able to hold it open for very long.

The other told him to hurry so he did and so he did, quick to get away from the trap, the wolf somewhat jumped a bit away just in case the boy was going to let go, he wouldn't want his leg getting caught again.

Being a werewolf he usually heals rather fast but since his leg was caught for sometime and he lost quite a bit of blood it would take longer for him to heal than usual. It would be best to turn human and get his wound covered up but it wouldn't be safe to do it in front of someone so instead he began to lick at his injured leg.

Jiro was relieved to see the wolf move his leg away, quickly releasing the trap once he was clear of it. "Gah!" he let out a cry as he fell back on his butt, clutching his hands close to his chest as he did. He was shaking with pain as he tried to convince himself it was nothing. 'I'm fine. The wolf is free and that's all that matters.' He wished his thoughts would come to pass, but still his hands ached as blood seeped from his clenched fists.

Had he been less focused on his hands, and more on his surroundings, Jiro would have noticed the sound of many footsteps heading his way. Instead, he didn't notice until they were quite close. "There it is," one man hissed angrily as he spoke. "Let's kill the werewolf before it tries to kill us." another man chimed in. Upon hearing their voices Jiro looked up. There had to be at least a dozen men headed their way.

'What did they say? A werewolf?' He panicked. Were werewolves real? He couldn't believe what he was hearing. As the men approached, he noticed they were all looking at the wolf he had just saved from the bear trap. Without thinking he quickly shouted out. "R-run! Run!" He waved his hands about hoping desperately that the wolf would understand him.

He could hear them and smell them before they even got close but perhaps they wouldn't find him this time, he sure hoped they wouldn't find him, he couldn't fight anyone in this state. His ears perked up much like they had when the boy was moving before, they were close it wasn't long until they find him.

'Shit' they saw him and for the first time he felt a bit of fear, he stood up shakily. The boy seemed to notice what was going and told him to run, his leg was numb so he would be able to do it but it might cause further damage to it.

He bared his teeth and growled at the men who were coming then he turned his attention to the boy, he should help him, no doubt the others had heard the other male tell him to run and that would definitely get him in trouble.

He moved quickly or as quickly as he could towards the boy and took his one wrist into his mouth but was sure to be gently enough that it wouldn't pierce the skin, he began tugging the boys arm in an attempt to get the other to get up and run away with him.

Jiro gasped at the feeling of the wolf's mouth on his wrist. He could feel the fangs scraping against his skin which sent chills down his spine, but he noticed an gentleness to it. It took only a moment before he realized the wolf wanted him to run too.

One man shouted. "Look men, that boy is in league with the monster! Lets get him too!" The men quickened their pace towards the two all while chanting. "Kill the wolf! Kill the wolf!" The look on each man's face showed they wouldn't rest until there was bloodshed.

Jiro's face paled as he quickly got up, stumbling as he tried to regain his balance. He knew it wasn't just the wolf's life in danger, but also his own. He wasn't about to stick around to find out what they had in store for him. Adrenaline surged through his body as he quickly took off running through the dense forest, hoping they would be able to outrun the men.

As the other male got up Raptor let go of his wrist, he waited and growled viciously at the men who got closer and closer by the second, he didn't take his eyes off the mob until he heard the boy start running, after that he turned and began to run after the young raven haired boy.

Once they lost the group that was chasing them the black wolf let out a loud howl as he ran and not long after other wolves could be heard howling all over the forest, the humans would have a hard time telling which wolf was the one they were looking for.

His eyes darted around the area looking for somewhere to hide, he spotted a large tree that was impossible to behind unless you actually walked around it to see the other side. The boy was only a few inches in front of him, he had to get him behind the tree but he couldn't do it in his wolf form so he changed forms as he was running which was easy for him as he's been doing it for years.

Without hesitation Raptor grabbed the boy's hand with his own and pulled the shorter male behind the tree, holding him tightly against his now hairless naked body, he stared down at the boy with the same grey eyes that had previously been seen on the black wolf "Shhh..."

Jiro ran as fast as he could, but he was becoming weaker. He knew it was only a matter of time before he was caught. Just as he was about to give up he heard the wolf howl from behind him. Eerie was the sound of many wolves that chimed in. He knew this wolf wouldn't hurt him, but wasn't so sure about any of the others.

Suddenly without warning he was yanked off to the side and in the arms of another. He was about to scream when he looked up into the eyes of the one holding him. 'Wolf? No it couldn't be... could it?' He was lost in thought and had almost forgotten the men chasing them when he heard a rustling nearby.

"Spread out men! They couldn't have gone far!" One of the fearless men exclaimed, but was rebuked by another. "No way! Didn't you just hear that? We're surrounded by wolves! I'm going home! Who's with me?" One by one the men started following home. "Yeah, he's right. I don't want to die today and there's no knowing which one's which." one man commented as he turned towards home. With only the one man left there standing, he wasn't so brave anymore and even he begrudgingly couldn't argue with their logic.

Relief washed over Jiro as he leaned against the man feeling that he would collapse if he didn't. He had done a lot of running today and wasn't one for physical activity so this took a lot out of him. When he came to his senses, he realized he was leaning against a naked man out in the middle of nowhere. "Who are you? What are you? L-let go of me." he weakly demanded as he used his hands to push against the man's chest, trying to free himself from his grip.

A smirk crossed the man's face when he heard the men speaking of going home, so thankfully his plan had worked maybe not the exact way he thought it would but the end result was good enough. Once he could tell all the men were gone he let out a sigh of relief.

He had completely forgotten about the boy in his arms, it wasn't until the boy spoke and began to push against him that he remembered. He did as he was asked and let go of the boy before slumping against the tree and running his hand through his own raven locks.

"My name is Raptor" he started "and I'm a werewolf, I thought that much would be obvious" he looked at the boy with a raised brow, he was quick to turn his attention to his leg which looked much worse in his human form, while running he had put immense pressure on it, causing it to bleed out more.

"Could I borrow your shirt or something, I need to get this covered before it gets infected by some germs or something" he looked at the shorter male once again.

Jiro huffed at Raptor's response to his questions. "Werewolves aren't supposed to be real. They're only in legends and bedtime stories to scare kids." he muttered under his breath.

Hearing the other's question, he looked down at his leg and cringed with how bad it looked. "Sure... but shouldn't you have a doctor look at that?" He asked as he pulled his shirt up and over his head which was now bloodied from the injuries on his own hands that he had acquired while helping Raptor escape the trap. "Here." He held the shirt out in offering.

He had so many questions he wanted to ask the other male, but it would have to wait. The injury to his leg looked pretty bad and he didn't want to annoy his only companion. He would need help if he wanted to find his way home. He wasn't even sure which way the shrine was anymore.

(( around what year are they in btw?? ))

He ignored what the boy had muttered because he honestly didn't care what he had to say at the moment, the only important thing was the shirt that he hoped he would get.

"Thanks." he roughly grabber the shirt from the others hand and immediately wrapped it tightly around the wound on his leg "Nah, It'll heal in about an hour or two though i should probably get to some water to clean it" he answered the boy's earlier question.

"I'm going to the lake, you can come with if you want." he stated, moving from his place against the tree "It would probably be best that you do stay here, those men may regain they're courage and decide to come back" he advised as he began to walk away.

((I'd say a few hundred years back, before electricity and such))

Jiro was surprised by the way he roughly took the shirt from his hands. His hands stung quite a bit due to his own injuries and he quickly recoiled, holding his hands to his chest. What surprised him even more though was how fast the other said his wound would heal. How was that even possible? He just couldn't fathom how one could heal so quickly.

"I-I'm coming with you." the frightened male responded. He didn't like the thought of the men returning with Raptor nowhere in sight. Right now he was his only form of safety in this strange land and he didn't intend to let him out of his sight for even one second.

Quickly he caught up to him, making sure to stay right by his side. "Is the river very far?" He hoped it was close. It was rather hard to keep up with the taller male's stride especially since he was already tired.

"Good choice and no, its actually quite close." he said, looking back at the teen for a moment "What's your name by the way?" he asked once he realized he didn't even know the others name which he found weird since his name was already known by the shorter male.

The man stopped and pressed his hands against a tree, leaning heavily on it, he was beginning to regain the feeling in his leg which was good because that meant he was healing but it was hurting like a bitch "You're not from around here are you?" he decided to ask while resting his leg for a little bit. The others' clothing looked strange and he smelled weird compared to all the other humans.

Jiro bit his lower lip and took a couple steps back. He shook his head and avoided eye contact. He wasn't sure just how much he wanted to tell this stranger just yet. While it was true he was his only companion since arriving in this strange land, he didn't quite trust him. Maybe it was because he was a werewolf or the fact that he didn't seem to care he wasn't even wearing any cloths. He wasn't completely sure but he decided not to tell him anything just yet.

"Call me whatever you like. I uh... don't have a name." He finally spoke, after what seemed like the longest time. It was an obvious lie, but he hoped the other would buy it. As for the second question, he completely ignored it. He wasn't even quite sure how to answer that question.

Suddenly an idea popped into his head. 'I could just call someone.' He reached into his pants pocked and pulled out his cell phone. "What? No bars!" he spoke with a small whine as he waved the phone about, trying to find a signal. Finally he turned and looked at the taller male. "Could you take me to the nearest town? Maybe there will be a signal there."

Raptor could tell that the boy was lying about having no name but couldn't really careless "Alright then, I'll just call you Mumei" he stated with a shrug before he began to move again, he had to get to the lake there was no time to stand around.

"No... Bars?" he muttered to himself, what did that mean? he watched Mumei with a raised brow as he waved the thing in his hand around "No I'm afraid i can't." he answered firmly "The nearest town would be the one where those men live, both of us would be killed if we even set a single foot in that town" he informed the younger "What is that thing you're holding?" he asked after a moment of silence.

Jiro gave a slight frown at the name Raptor had given him. 'Oh well, I did say he could call me what he wants. I have no right to complain now.' He looked at the other and noticed he was being left behind so he quickly caught up.

Upon hearing that the closest town was the one where those men were from, he had to agree that they couldn't go back there, but he was rather disappointed because he wanted to find his way home.

Things were quiet a moment before he realized he was being asked a question. "This? It's a cell phone... Do you live under a rock or something? This is the twenty first century. Everyone has one." he spoke as he held the phone up to him so he could get a closer look. "You use it to call people... though I'm guessing your only friends are wolves so you wouldn't need one."

"Cellphone...? This is the first time I've heard of such a thing and what are you talking about... it is not the twenty first century?" he lulled his head to the side while he spoke, he was feeling so confused "Did you hit your head or something because what you're saying sounds crazy."

Raptor shook his head and just continued on to the lake, they were almost there. Unfortunately his current companion seemed to be crazy or something which was unfortunate since he seemed like a nice guy at first, too bad.

"I'm NOT crazy. You're the crazy one." he said with a frown as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Are you guys filming a movie or something? Those men back there wore strange cloths almost like what they wore in the..." his voice trailed off and he shook his head. 'No it can't be. There's no way I traveled back in time.' He just couldn't believe that it was possible.

It had to be a prank his friends were playing on him. "Did my friends put you up to this? This is a prank, right? Those men were just dressed up in costume... and... and you're not really a werewolf. You guys probably just had a trained dog dressed up to look like a wolf and switched when I wasn't looking." He got quiet for a moment as he looked down at the man's ankle. "And that's just really good makeup made to look like a wound." He said as he pointed at the wounded ankle. "The jokes over. I figured it out, so take me back to town."

  • 2 weeks later...

The lake came into view after the two passed a few more trees, ignoring the boy for now, Raptor removed the borrowed shirt from his leg before placing the wound into the cold water of the lake, it felt refreshing and he could already feel his regeneration beginning to work.

"Look kid" he began, looking over his shoulder at the shorter male "I don't know what exactly you think is going on here but if you want to go to the town be my guest, I'll even tell you the way but don't come crying to me when those men try to chop off your head or worse torture you to find out where I am." he took a deep breath once he finished speaking and then sat down on the ground with both his legs in the water.

Jiro placed a hand around his neck and took a large gulp. He trembled at the warning of death and torture. "T-this can't be happening," he voiced his thoughts out loud. "This isn't real. It's just a dream." He staggered forward and collapsed on the ground.

In one last attempt to deny what happened to him, he looked pleadingly at the larger male. "This isn't funny anymore. I don't know what kind of joke this is, but I just want to go home. Stop acting already. Who paid you to do all this?" He sniffled as he sat there, shaking in fear. He was determined not to cry, but it was proving to be a harder task than he thought.

At first Raptor shook his head and rolled his eyes, thinking the boy must be younger than he looks because he sure was acting like a little kid. Removing his legs from the water he stood up and made his way over to Mumei who remained on the ground.

He crouched down in front of the other and with a surprising gentleness he caressed his cheek and looked into his eyes "It is clear that you are not from this time" he stated softly "Some sort of magic has sent you here for an unknown reason, I can see and sense that you're afraid right now but there is no reason to be, alright." he tried to sound as reassuring as possible when he got to his last words "Just stay calm and I'll try to get you home, just tell me how you got here." he decided that he would help Mumei in return for saving him from the trap.

The comforting words helped to calm him. As he looked into the other's eyes, he could see he was telling the truth. "Sorry for my behavior just now. I must look really pitiful." He looked down feeling rather embarrassed by his actions. To help steady his nerves, he took in a deep breath before looking back at the other. "It all happened because I heard there were ghost sightings at this old shrine." He began speaking of how he wound up here, in this time.

"If I'm right, that town those men are at is the same town I am from in the future. Will it be safe to go to the shrine? It's really close to town..." his voice trailed off. It seemed hopeless that he would ever get back home. "I don't even know how to get back to my time once we get to the shrine." A sullen expression showed on his face. He was sure the other wouldn't help him now since he had been so adamant about staying away from town. Not that it would do him much good going to the shrine when he didn't even know what to do once he got there.
