And now I'm hoping for a bit of a help for everyone reading this. I made this survey where I'm asking your preferences in BL and a bit about you (your gender, where you're from..) but no names or contact info are needed! Link to the questionnaire -> Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. It doesn't matter how much of shonen ai/yaoi or boys' love stories over all you've read/seen/consumed! So even if you've only seen a few BL-animes you can answer on to the survey. I'm very interested to hear about your preferences and also favorite shonen ai/yaoi mangas! ^^ You can also skip a question if you don't know what to answer. If you have any questions to ask, please do so! Oh, and the presentation is going to be held in my local anime society's Allnighter-meeting, where about 30-40 people gather. There's been a few projects in both literature sub-genre and cultural studies that I've heard about. Generally they are a bit incorrect (as they assume all mangakas are female - ERR! WRONG!) and that all fans are women (BZZT! INCORRECT!) but surveys like this are doing quite a bit to change those misconceptions. I did the survey, fwiw. (Bachelors in English Communications, with minors in Writing and Literature. Genre and Folklore were a huge passion of mine, back in the day!) TibberB Posted October 6, 2017 Share Posted October 6, 2017 I was the President of Bi-GLAD at our college, so I KNEW gay men (and some lesbians, bi, gender queer, etc.) were reading yaoi, BL Novels, gay comics, etc. so I would just shake my head at the presumption of it all. Granted, back then we didn't have a lot of options (1990s) but we did have Tom of Finland, which I'd point out and that literally destroyed their argument right there.
