Z3N
Seiji Urakami | Male | 29 181cm (5’11”) | 76kg (167lbs) | Seke ♥ Pasta, manga, music, festivals ✗ Thunderstorms, chocolate, arrogance Personality: Being a mischievous human being who likes to play pranks on his colleagues, he didn’t get the chance to get higher up. But in fact he’s a hardworking person who has a fascination for cute things (which he keeps hidden from everybody). He’s blunt with his words, sometimes hurting the feelings of the people around him by accident. However if one can see behind those harsh words they’ll see he doesn’t mean to harm to them in the end and that it’s only a misunderstanding as he can’t bring his thoughts into words very good. Background: Seiji had quite some troubles in school due to his blunt personality, triggering the wrong people by his harsh words. It wasn’t unusual for him to get beaten up, coming home with bruises. Because of this he decided to join a boxing club where he could hone his skills in the art and to be able to defend himself for any attackers. He gained a reputation which made him less approachable yet those who ignored that fact got actually quite close to him. In his last year of high school he was actually seen as the defender of the school and gained some kind of popularity. He tried to change his way of speech once he graduated but it was more difficult than he thought it would’ve been, only improving slightly by a lot of practice. He entered a company together with his half-brother who got a higher ranking position than him in a period of time which annoyed him to death. Other: > Works at Hashima Inc as an art editor. > Secretly does cosplay/cross-dressing at conventions. > Pretty skilled in boxing. > Because he was given a load of chocolates in his last year of high school, he started to hate eating it. --- It was just the usual day at the company Hashima Inc. Everybody entered the building for another day of work, going to their own compartments which was divided in floors which went up to the twelfth one where the most important employees could be found as well as the CEO. It was easier that way to find the right person that they were looking for, not needing to run throughout the whole building only to catch a glimpse of them which would end up in screaming behind them. A publishing company was something like that but here it was less chaotic which was a good thing. Greeting his colleagues as he passed them by, some of them were already running around with copies of manga’s and books alike. Some were even freaking out due to a deadline they had. Seiji managed to get most of his work done on time though there had been occasions where the publication had to be delayed due to intern problems with the author or when the papers arrived way too late for it be finished in time. Once he got to the fifth floor, he got out of the elevator and walked towards his desk which was a mess with all kinds of post-its and papers scrambled around with something written on them. He put his bag under his desk, hearing a soft thump by it bumping onto the edge. As he sat down on his seat, he picked up a certain piece of paper with three post-its put on it, reading it carefully before switching on his computer. His mouse clicked on the several parts of the cover and started editing it to the wish of the author. This time he was put in charge for the complete cover due to the lack of inspiration of the write. Well, it wasn’t an odd thing to happen. Luckily he managed to capture all of the important points of the story to put in the front. This time it was a shoujo manga that he was in charge of which took place in high school. Your typical romantic comedy with a slice-of-life aspect. It was about a girl who re-encountered her childhood friend but since she changed so much he wasn’t able to recognize her. This was mainly as she was a tomboy in the past and was now fully transformed in a “pretty” girl. It also resulted in a love triangle. He didn’t dislike the idea of it and it was nice to read from time to time when he had nothing to do. He sighed deeply as he wondered about how to make the lay-out for the manga, tapping his fingers onto the desk as he stared at his screen with squinted eyes. He could go for a more bright theme or he could use soft colours which were easier on the eyes. He pondered about it for a while before deciding to go with the softer tone. Clicking several times on his screen to adjust everything, including the font and the illustrations on it. Once he was done, he clicked on “print” and went to the printer at once. It took a few minutes as there were others on it as well. Once he got the piece of paper which was supposed to be a copy, he got back to his place and send the cover to the writer so he would know how it would look like once published. Then he went over towards the people in charge of putting everything together which was on the eight floor. It took a while to get there due to the problems with the elevator. Once there, he gave the piece to them and went back down to his floor but stopped at the vending machine to get something to drink.
aominecchi
Appearance Shintaro Nakahara | Male | 30 184cm (6’04”) | 79kg (174lbs) | Seke ♥ Homemade food, sleeping, morning runs ✗ Perfume, socializing, darkness Personality: Shin doesn't get along with others well because of his distant attitude which is perceived as cold and superior. In reality, he gets really awkward in conversations and usually can't fit in, but he's practiced hard to not let this part of him show, especially in his work. His words are calculated and twice thought before actually saying them. Background: At school, Shin had always been a loner because of his attitude. Still, around high school he managed to make a few friends and hang out but he eventually lost contact with them after graduating. He attended different schools and university from his half brother due to his complicated feelings towards him. However, one day the inevitable happened and they got hired into the same company. Fortunately, not in the same department. Other: > Works at Hashima Inc as the CFO's secretary. > Is secretly in love with his half brother. > Loves to exercise, particularly going for running early in the morning. > Perhaps his half brother is stronger than him, but Shin has more stamina. A loud grunt escaped from Shin's lips upon reading the notice sellotaped in front of the elevator's doors on the twelfth floor and then turned back, taking the emergency stairs. Really, for a publishing company as big as Hashima, it's a shame to have the building's sole elevator broken. He'll have to discuss this with the Chief of Finance, but Shin thinks the discussion will be for naught since it's this time of the month again that work is hectic due to deadlines. For once in his life, he feels blessed to have an athletic build as walking down the stairs seemed an easy feat. The problem will be going up the stairs, which he dreads just at the mere thought of it. "Ah... Maybe our budget can afford escalators." Shin utters under his breath, though he is aware this idea will be subject to laughter once heard. He finally reaches the eighth floor, having business with the publishing team as they needed to discuss their budget. Upon opening the emergency door, his glance meets Reiji who's right in front of the venting machine. A sly smirk appears on his expression as he silently approaches and then attempts to gently hit his half brother's ass cheeks with his briefcase full of company documents to surprise him. "There you are." Shin angelically smiles as he tilts his head. Teasing his brother is his favorite pastime. "What time do you get off work? I will drive you. Or we even eat diner at a restaurant if you'd like." In fact, his younger half brother is his weakness. He can never deny him and Reiji has taken advantage of that a million times. Still, Shin has not expressed his true feelings yet. "You are utterly cute you know!" Maybe he dug his own grave there, saying such things at the company. How many times has he spoiled Reiiji? Even when they were kids, Shun always put his half brother above anything else. Since they attended different schools and did not share the same family name, people often found it shocking that those two were related. On the other hand, Shun decided not to change his surname or else he would really feel like Reiji's older brother. At least that way, their roles are not certain; he never intended to be Reiji's brother, though he tried at first.
Z3N
Seiji clicked the button for some Ooi Ocha, meaning that it is a kind of green tea. Looking for the machine to grab the bottle. It didn’t take too long before he could take it however he was startled by the voice that suddenly came from behind him. Being somewhere else with his thoughts, it was quite the shock to hear it. His drink was almost dropped to the floor and his heart started beating fast for a couple of seconds before he regained his cool again. Turning around abruptly with a nasty glare in his eyes, only to see that it was his brother who seemed to find it fun to scare him to death. Breathing deeply in and out before taking a better grip on the bottle. At the comment of being cute, his eye twitched out of annoyance as he didn’t like to be called that by his brother of all the people. Despite his fondness for cute stuff, he didn’t like to be seen as cute to be honest. Not at work. He ran a hand through his hair and then twisted his bottle open. ”Honestly, one of these days you’ll get a punch in the face for surprising me like that.” He groaned towards the other before taking a sip from his cold tea. The slap he received on his butt, stung a little as mostly he would be hit in the face instead on the butt. ”Anyway, what’re you doing here? Need something?” He asked with a raised eyebrow as the male wasn’t supposed to be on this floor. Putting the bottle on the table and reached out towards his brother’s glasses, putting them on himself. Squinting as he looked through them as he didn’t need something like that in the first place. Pushing them a little lower so his vision wouldn’t be completely fucked up. Eventually he gave them back to Shintaro and took all his stuff together. aominecchi
Quite honestly, Seiji's murderous glares sends chills down Shin's spine. He ought to be used to them by now, but the problem is; He cannot. Simply, they are too piercing and authoritative, always putting him back into his place like a good disciplined puppy. It's bad to have a crash on a family member, those deadly eyes remind him of that. Well, Seiji's potty mouth isn't any better. Shin awkwardly smiles as he practically receives a death threat from his own brother and then places his brown leather briefcase between his legs before slowly raising his hands to force a smile on his half brother's lips. "You could be a bit more polite to your elder brother you know..." At this point, Shin begs for basic politeness and maybe some love. "You are always so grumpy and scary. You can't make friends like that!" Okay, who is talking now. Still, Shin must have great nerve to dare say that to Seiji. Only that he doesn't realize that, since his words come out faster than his brain can handle and carefully calculate in order to not fall into any self traps. Like now. Soon, it is bound for a murder scene to happen in Hashima Inc. Either it will be Shin, or the whole Editing Department for not keeping up their schedules and deadlines, it is unknown however. Still, he cannot help but wanting to tease his younger brother, even if it's bad for his death. Apparently. "I was heading to the Printing Dept. to discuss next month's budget." Shin smiles as he leans closer to Seiji, attempting to read what is written on the drink can out of sheer curiosity. Or, to learn what Seiji likes, for future reference. "Buuuut." There is a long and heavy sigh that followed. after dramatically stretching the word. "As you can see the elevator is broken. So I had to take the chairs. I must be so lucky for meeting my cuuuuuute brother in this place." Shin intensively blushes as Reiji steals his glasses and wears them for himself in an otherwise adorable moment, which he would love to see if he wasn't practically blind without them. Instead, he settled for the blurriness as his imagination made up the rest. "I just wanted to invite you to diner. It's been some while since we have eaten together. Outside. At a fancy restaurant. Please?" His glance unconsciously falls on his watch, his heart almost jumping out its place upon realizing the time. "Ahhh... Ugh, my boss will kill me. I have to go! Diner, the two of us. Deal?" He asks again but in reality it's not even a question as he runs towards the department in a big hurry.
Z3N
Seiji hummed in response to the other with a seemingly disinterested glance in his eyes when it came to the Printing Department. It was one of his worst enemies as they were mostly the cause for any delays. One time they managed to print the wrong copy and barely noticed it on time which lead to stalling the next chapter of a manga. The enthusiasts weren't too happy about that and were about to launch at the company's throat for not making it on time. Well, Seiji practically did thin about it for a moment but just ended in low-key threatening the department which didn't go nicely. It resulted in a battle between the editor and printer department which luckily died out after some time. The invitation for diner, made Seiji doubt about it as he didn't really feel like he should go with his brother of all the people. But the guy did have a point of it being quite some while ago since they ate together outside of work. He tapped his finger against the bottle as he stared blankly towards his sibling, not being able to immediately answer the question and he didn't even have the chance to anymore either. As Shintaro ran off like that without even waiting for a response, Seiji stood there with his mouth half open. His eye twitching in annoyance as he couldn't decline anymore or he would hear it for a long while instead, even more if his colleagues found out about it. With a deep sigh, he walked back to his seat in silence however his expression told people that he wasn't exactly in a great mood. His day had barely started and he already felt a headache coming up. He tapped several mails open from his clients who were asking for all kinds of editing or advise for their next manga or book. Some questions repeated themselves so many times that his reply almost became the standard routine. It was a little odd now that he thought about it but there was no way to escape from these daily chores he had to do for the company. Otherwise his boss would call him to the office and get an earful afterwards. Something he didn't feel like going through right now as it would mean less time to work so he would need to speed everything up. And if that happened, he would make more careless mistakes which would need to be redone by the end of the day even if it meant to stay later. aominecchi
Negotiating with the Printing Department is never fun, Shin has concluded from his humble experience of many years in Hashima Inc. Furthermore, he believes every single one of them are assholes, or little Satans in disguise as they always ask for a bigger budget while making enormous, eye popping mistakes. Just how many times have they gotten the font wrong or the color? Or the wrong number of copies? These are 'minor' mistakes compared to what else Shin has witnessed. Oh, he dreads at the thought of any more instances. Oh and, guess what, he always has to clean up other departments' mess since he is the CFO's secretary, aka the errand boy. So, it seems life isn't exactly a sunshine at this particular publishing company. However, what makes Shin's life brighter, is his beloved half brother Reiji - who doesn't exactly show his love but nonetheless is still adored. Or, maybe everything is inside Shin's mind of wild fantasies and no boundaries The invitation for having dinner together is what keeps him alive during the rest of the day, despite its shortcomings and rants from his fellow coworkers, though he is unsure whether his brother will show up or not. After all, he basically left Reiji with no choice, deliberately, given how many times he has declined in the past. Shintaro is very optimistic for his own good. Sometimes even a goof. A heavy sigh escaped from Shin's lips at the sight of the analog clock on his desk, realizing it was past his working hours. His boss hadn't left the office yet, meaning none of the employees could leave before the CFO, or the person in charge which it always sucks once it happens. Shin slouched deeper into his seat and then glanced at the opened word document on his screen, the letters somehow magically turning into unrecognizable characters before his own eyes. He blinked once, then twice in disbelief before momentarily averting his gaze towards the clock. Half an hour had passed since then and, unconsciously his hand moved, writing pls in the document. As in, please Boss leave anytime soon. I got a date and stuff. Ah, if only he could say that sentence out loud. Luckily, the CFO's office door soon opened and the man waved everyone goodnight before leaving, lighting Shin's whole face up. "YES!" He internally shouted and saved all of his work, but not before backspacing his thoughts and then picked up his briefcase from under the desk. Time to meet his cute brother, oh, the bliss already shows on his face as he heads towards the underground parking lot. Hopefully, Reiji has not arrived yet or else Shin is in for an earful. Z3N
Seiji stretched out his arms in front of him as his work was done for the day. That meant helping out some other people until it was time to stop. The rest would be up to them. Sluggishly making his way towards one of the newcomers of the department, leaning over the chair to take a look at the design the kid had made. If he remembered correctly the male was twenty-two years old, a seven year difference. Time sure flew by and it surprised him how much progress they could make in such a short period of time. Dozens of manga's and books were published every month, a small company wouldn't be able to keep up with this in the slightest. Running a hand through his snow white hair as time ticked by, looking at his watch only to see that he could stop working now. The kid that he was helping was almost finished too now so he didn't need to worry about that. A yawn escaping his lips as he took his backpack and jacket, saying goodbye before walking out of the office. Waiting for the elevator to arrive. Scrolling through his cell phone to look at something interesting but nothing like that popped up to his displease. Remembering that Shintaro had asked to go out and eat something. It had indeed been a while for the two of them to be alone together as they got into arguments pretty often. As he arrived at the underground parking lot, he noticed that Shintaro still wasn't there. Feeling a headache coming up already but kept calm as he guessed the other still had to do something for the superiors. Leaning against a wall as he waited for his brother to come out. Listening to some music to make it go faster and that way he had something to do instead of just staring into the distance like an idiot. Eventually Shintaro arrived, giving an immediate glare towards the other for making him wait like this despite having been asked in the first place. Noticing the bags under the other his eyes, he clicked his tongue. Pushing his finger on the male his cheek. "You look like a zombie. And your late." He grumbled towards his brother in annoyance. Even though Shintaro was older, he didn't care the least about that.
aominecchi
As soon as the CFO gathered all of the employees together and bowed them farewell, Shintaro rushed towards his desk and shoved all of his belongings inside the brown leather briefcase after making sure each computer was shut and in place. He was the last to exit the floor, meaning he had to also turn off the lights upon leaving. It was already late and Seiji was probably already waiting at the parking lot as they had agreed, the thought of his brother being in discomfort bringing shivers down Shintaro's spine. It's never good to anger Seiji. Years of suffering had imprinted this deep to his mind. Though he doesn't really sees it as 'suffering' but more like... Putting up with Seiji? No, that's not right either. Ah, his half brother is just so cute that he can even turn into a doormat for him. That's really dangerous and it would be a lie to not say Seiji has not taken advantage of it. Still, Shintaro does not mind. However, a sound mind would suggest that ain't normal. Well, whatever. Shintaro headed down the big flight of stairs in a speed that equals that of light's, since the elevator was still broken and the Financial Department was housed on the top floors, just below the CEO's office. That was a seriously long set of stairs, which made Shintaro be out of breath. The male stopped on the last step and then took a deep breath that hurt his lungs from all this exercise, before moving closer to the door to lean his head at. God, he needed to rest. Just a tiny bit before meeting up with Seiji. Actually, meeting him would recharge his batteries. "Alright." Shintaro painfully exhaled and turned the knob, opening the door slowly as to not meet his brother's wrath for making him wait. Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as he expected it to be. "Sorry." He lowered his head in an apologizing manner, similar to a puppy with its tail under its legs. "Boss kept working until late and we can't leave before him." These words are not even used as an excuse but rather as an answer, or an opening into chatting up more. In reality, Shintaro wishes he were dead from the exhaustion, feeling he did not have the mental nor physical capacity to accompany Seiji to dinner as promised. "Sorry..." He utters again and then searches his briefcase to find the car's keys, while wipping the sweat off his forehead. "I know I am late but... I can make it up to you. I - I... We can order from my apartment, or grab something from the conbini. What do you think?"
