Hello fellow yaoi fans, I am new to this forum, and I wanted to ask you for some recommendations in yaoi. I've been reading the same ones over and over again and I've been looking for something new to discover.

 

I am pretty open but I don't like dated artworks, and I would very much prefer if the protagonists were of approximately the same age (I mean I'm not that much into extremes like one's a high schooler the other's 45+, and if the obviously younger one's the seme, I'm not that into it either.)

 

I hope I didn't post in the wrong place though, thanks for telling me if I did, and thanks for your help !

 

PS: I'm also looking for a yaoi I read some time ago wich I reeeeeally liked but I just can't find it.

It's about two guys who are in a really long stable relationship, but one cheats and the girl gets pregnant (fk), they break up even though they still love each other, the girl dies, they get back together etc...

I would love to recommend some manga, but I don't know where to start: the same age, does it include high school? and college age? do you like darker stuff or something fluffier? Or are you one of the cool kids that have read more than a 1000 yaoi and is looking for underrated gems? I know just the thread for that too xD

 

For now, here are a few fluffy, modernly-looking, roughly the same age adults stories that I like. Most of them are pretty mainstream though, not sure if you've read them already.

 

Ameiro Paradox - it fits the description, it's absolutely consensual and it's about grown ass adults:) I also stopped following the updates for exactly the same reasons xD But I enjoyed it while I was reading it:)

 

Doushitemo Furetakinai - a famous one out here, sweet without it being too much:)

 

Kyuuso Wa Cheese No Yume O Miru warning, this one a bit less sweet & the art might be a bit different from what you prefer, and starts with a bit of blackmail, but nonetheless amazing. Both this one and the sequel are a bit more realistic than most gay for you stories.

 

Life Senjou No Bokura - a bit similar to complex, only like 50 chapters shorter:) heartbreaking as well

 

Datte Maou-sama Wa Kare Ga Kirai - this one is less slice of life, more fantasy & dubcon kind of stuff.. still a lot of fun

 

Mou Ichido, Nando Demo - an amnesia story. a VERY good one

 

Kocchi Muite Waratte - unsocial guys

I copied the descriptions from my "read manga" document, and everything here I've read during my first month of yaoi love, so they are pretty mainstream, I guess.. I'm too lazy to go through ALL of the manga I've read:)

I only added the ones that I would consider rereading, I skipped all the twisted ones.. Most of the stuff here is consensual and lighthearted with a few exceptions. Most of them the same age, there were two with a mild age gap (one sensei x student), but I clarified it there.

 

I hope you could find at least one or two manga you might consider reading.. if no - tag me, I will take it as a personal challenge and give you more xD

 

Yume Musubi, Koi Musubi - 6/10 cuteness is overwhelming, but there is an age gap

 

Glow! 9/10 - highschool - beautiful art, compelling story, gets unexpectedly dark at some point

 

Kuchizuke wa Uso no Aji - entertaining, adults

 

Junketsu Drop - highschol - one of my favorites:)

 

Kono Ore Ga Omae Nanka Suki Na Wakenai - high school, my favorite mangaka

 

終わらない不幸についての話/ Owaranai Fukou ni Tsuite no Hanashi – 9/10 awesome (sequel to gosan no heart) according to the slogan "the story of neverending unhappiness".. I loved loved loved it

 

Blue Lust - 10/10 absolutely amazing, high school

 

Sweet Heart Trigger - a bit f*cked up, i loved it... plus pierciiiiing!!! college kids

 

Mayonaka no Oyatsu - simply really cute, an age gap

 

Miwaku Shikake Amai Wana - nothing too special, but extremely enjoyable, adults

 

Hanakoi Tsurane - - a very slow burn, adults (or high school? crap, it's hard to remember, but they were actors xD)

 

Akai Ito No Shikkou Yuuyo – cute, highschool

 

Nemuri Otoko to Koi Otoko – art is not my thing, but surprisingly very enjoyable, adults

 

Pornographer - adults, bittersweet (if that's the one I'm thinking of.. I've read two with a similar name:D)

Hana Ni Kuchizuke – I’m impressed, it felt fresh! they are idiots and it's awesome (can't remember the age, but I recommend this one)

Wow, awesome list and recommendations!! I have previously read Yume Musubi, Koi Musubi, Junketsu Drop and I think also Mayonaka no Oyatsu and Sweet Heart Trigger but I will definitely check out some others.

 

I'm not really into teachers and students - I was at one point but lately I haven't been interested in these couples. please can you recommend something else? I enjoy fluffy cuteness as well as some Smut! Lol I don't mind it being a bit dark but I guess the story has to have a happy ending and definitely no rape but I guess Dubcon might be acceptable - if I had a clearer idea of what it was lol if you have any manga that sounds remotely like this, I'd greatly appreciate it lol

so, ok, no sensei x student, no rape, no oneshots, only stuff that I would reread (and I will never reread 70 percent of what I've read), no age gaps or incest, mostly consensual, no omegaverse (?), happy ending. I skipped most of ongoing, but I could have made a mistake with this one - I follow a lot of manga. I also don't include webtoons or the stuff that we discussed before in an underrated manga thread (you never told me what you thought of those xD).

 

 

Ii Mon Waru Mon - good crazy, adults

 

Kocchi Muite, Ai - it was nice, but translation was a bit confusing..

 

MODS - I love yaoi with self-hating characters, so I adored this one. I'm pretty sure there is no rape between the mcs but it's a story about a prostitute, so I assume there was some other crap going on. I should reread it:)

 

Pink To Mameshiba - well it was super cute even if nothing special

 

Batsu Game (Conro) – simply awesome, but not everybody likes the art, and it started with blackmail.. It's also very smutty. But I enjoyed it a lot:)

 

Akuma-chan wa Momoiro - i like my boys insane.. involves cheating & emotional manipulation

 

Tamayura (yuki Ringo) - a heart wrecker, historical, dubcon

 

Yoru mo hi mo akenai – hot fighting, really nice beginning

 

Haru Wo Daite Ita – who would have thought that two porn stars would turn out to be one of the healthiest couples in a history of yaoi? I'm sure you've read this one, but just in case. the art takes some getting used to though

 

Wakabaryou de, Kimi to - absolutely nothing special, but warm and fuzzy..

 

Paradise View - I have never cried as hard over yaoi as after the last chapter of this one... I think it's also a sequel to another manga, but because I didn't rate it as a reread, I skipped it here)

 

Sekai wa Kimi de Mawatteru - the art is so beautiful, i can stare at each and every page for hours.. long eyelashes, messy hair, slim figures, cool posture and slightly untidy clothes... I wish I was trapped in Ogawa Chise's world.. I have also realized that most of her ukes are incredible!!! Creme de la creme.. Also, so much angst!!!! Beautiful!

 

Kemono ni Namida - fun

 

Umi To Futari No Enbun Noudo - if you are ever in the mood for a simple a bit melancholic story..

 

Liquor & Cigarette - I really like it for some reason, ongoing

 

Ubawareru Koto Marugoto Zenbu - possesive seme done right

 

Kataomoi To Parade - I have started to feel things from the first chapter

 

On Doorstep - this one is just amazing:)

 

Kirakira no Hibi - it's short and yet it doesn't feel rushed a t all! Simply beautiful, and the art is awesome - I like this mangaka

 

Kamatte Kawaii Hito – cute-cute-cute and lots of cats

 

Anata no Tame nara doko Made mo - super fun and awesome

 

Hatsuai - this manga did something different, was really funny and overall had an unsual feel about it. the uke will definetely be in my top ten. He is so precious, he needs to be protected

 

Hanaya no Nikai de - it's a 9 part series, and of course I've started with the very last one. Painfully relatable at times, at times simply sweet and hopeful

 

Ok, we got as far as manga #800 on my list. So I decided to stop:D But if you ever read all of these ones and need more - let me know xD and if you do find one or two that you might like, let me know as well I will be happy:)
