Luke groaned softly holding his arm feeling the warm blood slide down his chest and his arm. He heard it hit the concrete as if it was all amplified. He slid down the wall leaning his head back watching the monster stepping closer to him. He was warm all over and eventually he just grew numb. He watched James, or the wolf, turn at the sound of a voice. This caused Luke to look up as well and focus his blury vision on Jude. The man just kept saving him over and over again. He let out a soft sigh watching him come to his rescue only to notice he too was hurt. The sound of the shotgun made Luke jump but he couldn't help but watch the wolf drop like a log and deteriorate infront of them.

 

Luke shifted and tried to stand before falling back on his ass. The sound made him turn, "I'm...not...okay." he said softly and stood after another moment and holding his shoulder he walked to Jude and slid an arm under his own. "Give me your keys. I'm better than you...we need to get you to the hospital...you're bleeding." he said softly and pulled the others weight onto himself holding back a strangled moan from the pain of his own. He walked back to the truck that was waiting for him and waited patiently for the keys. He shifted on his feet a moment feeling his blood fall off his fingertips. He was loosing blood quickly and he was getting weaker but he felt a need to get Jude to the hospital before he needed to worry about himself.

Jude wrapped his arm around Luke's neck, feeling silly for having a hard time walking. When they got to the truck, Jude peeled away to lean against the truck. He blinked hard again, his vision slowly coming into focus. He dug into his jacket pockets, and handed Luke the keys. He blinked again, his vision not perfect, but better. His eyes shifted to his arm. "Shit... are you... did he get you?" Jude said, peeling away from the truck before losing his balance and falling back down on his feet. His concussion was bad... he should probably go to the hospital, but not when Luke was in the process of either bleeding out or turning into a werewolf. He had to look at the wound... he had to see if it was too late. He grabbed his head, a sharp pain shooting where the lump was. "Fuck..." He hissed in pain.

 

Jude felt so tired at the moment, but if his training as an EMT taught him anything it was that sleeping with a concussion was a dangerous game. "We can't go to the hospital. We have to go back to the motel." Jude said, the city lights hurting his head every time he lifted his head, so he kept it covered with both hands. He could take care of himself, that wasn't a problem at all. He didn't need a hospital... besides, what would he tell him? He couldn't lie like this, it would be easy to tell he was bluffing.

Luke instantly shook his hands taking the keys from Jude, "Shut up...we have to get you to the hospital you can barely stand..." he said and grabbed him unlocking the car door and opening it for him. He helped Jude into the seat and looked down at his one unmoving arm, "He didn't get me bad...I'm fine. Plus the hospital can patch it up..." He was staring to feel light headed as his body seemed to feel weightless. He was sweating hard and yet he was cold all over. He quickly went to the drivers side and turned the truck on putting it into gear. He sat with his foot on the break for a moment breathing through the pain and then turning to Jude. "Don't pass out. I'm going to get you to the hospital..." he said and blinked a few more times to clear his own vision then put the truck in gear and peeled out of the alley way. He drove as fast as his slowly slipping consiousness would allow him. In no time he was infront of the hospital and parking it practically falling out of the truck.

 

He leaned against it for a few moments but at this moment nurses saw him and ran over. They were fawning over him wanting to know what had happened and he just shook his head motioning to the car, "Get him, I'm fine. He hit his head really bad..." he said softly as he hunched over in pain. Nurses ran to Judes side opening the door and ushering him out of it before helping him to the hospital. It wasn't long until another set of nurses were brought out to Luke helping him into the hospital as his blood trailed him into the steril room. He was lifted onto a gurney and quickly pushed into the E.R. and into surgery where they would try and stop the bleeding, stitch him up, and hopefully save his arm.

 

Luke had no idea what Jude had tried to say. He didn't know anything about the werewolf curse transferring and he didn't think he was in any danger with his wound. Little did he know that the disease was slowly festering inside of him as the wound left open and untreated from Jude's normal tactics. The medicine that this hospital used would not be able to cure the illness raging inside of his veins at that very moment.

Hours passed, and the doctors and nurses gathered around Luke's bed whispering to each other. "How is that even possible?" Said the doctor, her green eyes looking down at him with worry. "He was bleeding everywhere one moment, and the next..." She trailed off, shaking her head in disbelief. "I've been a doctor for ten years, and never in my life have I ever seen anything like this." She sighed deeply, rubbing the back of her neck. "I... I'm going to make a few phone calls. Keep an eye on him and that other guy he came here with." The doctor ordered as she walked away, her head turning ever so often to take in what she just saw. One of the nurses went to walk away as well, before the other stopped him. "Where are you going?" She asked, rubbing her elbow. She felt weird being next to Luke, and it made her feel guilty. "To... check on the other one. He had a pretty bad concussion, so I'm going to see if he's awake or not yet." The girl sighed before she moved over to the monitor. "Fine. I'll stay here and record his vitals and stuff." She pouted.

 

The male nurse walked into Jude's room to find that he was awake, and full alert. He sat up in the bed, looking over at the nurse with worry. "How is he? Can I go? Can we go." The nurse sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Look, I would love to give you the details of his... condition, but I can't." Jude glared at the nurse with a look that would kill. "He's my friend, and I'm worried. Will you at least tell me that he's stable? Did you... did the bleeding stop." Jude asked, half hoping that the bleeding stopped and that that bleeding didn't. The nurse looked to the side, and sighed deeply. "The bleeding... stopped." Jude took in a sharp breath, rubbing his eyes. Shit, he thought, starting to panic. They were probably going to run tests on him, or... even worst. He had to think quick. Jude looked at the nurse, a brilliant idea popping into his head. "Can I use this phone for outside calls?"

 

After making a quick phone call after the nurse left the room, someone came in to discharge him. He got back into his clothes, feeling the dirt stick to his body they were so filthy. He should probably wash them, but there was no time. He hurried over to Luke's room, poking his head in with a shy little smile. "Hey... are you up?" He asked.

Luke wasn't awake for most of the surgery having had been put down. When he finally woke up there were nurses around him gawking at him. He was very confused and he blinked a few times trying to clear his vision. But as he did many of them left and he couldn't get any words out. His body felt hot and he let out a soft sigh as he pushed against the bed shakily trying to get the covers off of him. His arms felt fine, he didn't feel hurt. But something about him felt...different as he laid back against the pillow.

 

He heard Judes voice and his head lazily turned to him. His body was doped up still and he smiled a little, "Hey..." He waved the other into his room feeling his arm being more than heavy. "Where were you? I asked about you and they didn't tell me anything...they wouldn't even look at me really..." he said with a pout on his lips as he ran a hand through his hair. "Whats going on? They were all staring at me earlier...is something wrong? Why am I still...dopey." he asked his head falling back against the pillow because it was too heavy to keep up on his own.

Seeing Luke so drugged up made Jude feel angry and sad at the same time. Their hearts were in the right place; they saw a man heal from life threatening wounds with their eyes, and they just want to figure out what's wrong. But for someone who knew exactly what was wrong with Luke, it angered Jude greatly. He pulled up a chair and sat it right besides Luke's bed, and sat down. "Dude, you're so high." Jude said with a little smile, trying to mask all those emotions running through him. He licked his lips and took a deep breath, before looking behind his back to see if there was a nurse anywhere near them. "Thank you for saving my ass back there," Jude whispered, leaning closer to Luke. "Now it's my turn to save you again." Jude looked over his shoulder again, before he looked back at Luke. "Look, the doctors are going to run experiments on you if you stay here, so I called someone to pretend to be your doctor to bail you out of here. I'll explain everything later, okay? I promise." Jude said, squeezing his hand softly. "Play along."

 

Almost as if it was clockwork, a rather handsome man with red comb over hair and dazzling green eyes walked into the room. He was being accompanied by the female doctor from earlier. "Look that is none of your concern," the man said, patting her back with a smirk. "He's my patient, and..." He looked into the room and shrugged. "He looks perfect to me. I don't see any bleeding, and from what I saw with the reports he's doing fine. You can release him." The female doctor looked over at Luke and sighed, "Look, his wounds just... I don't even know. I feel as if we need to do tests."

"And I told you Doctor Miller, I ran tests on this before. He is fine... it's a genetic thing. You know how it goes." The man said with a sly little smirk.

"Well, I haven't heard anything about healing at a rapid pace... not like that." The girl said, crossing her arms. The man just shrugged, "well, it doesn't surprise me." He said holding up both hands. "Only Luke and like three other people in the world are able to do that. Just trust me, doctor to doctor... that he's fine."

Doctor Miller took in a deep breath and looked over at Luke with a sharp look. "Do you feel comfortable leaving?" She asked.

Luke blinked a few times and laughed at Judes words too high to really say anything. However, when he felt a hand in his he moved his head back letting his eyes focus on Jude the best he could to listen to what he said. He nodded lighlty but couldn't let his slow mind say anything as a rather handsome man came into the room. Luke found his eyes glued to him, he was handsome and in his drugged out state Luke was still gay. He only shook his eyes away from him to look up at the woman who had spoken to him, "I'm fine...other than completely drugged out of my mind...what did you give me?" he asked blinking a few times trying to stablize the room. He didn't understand why but his body was burning off the drugs faster than normal and so the doctors had to boost up the intake. He was at a level that would probably kill a normal human being. He sat up some feeling some clearness comeing to his mind, "If I'm fine can I leave? No one likes to be here longer than they have to be." he turned his eyes to Jude and smiled a little feeling some part of his mind come back to life from the drugs.

 

It was unsure what the doctors would do but this stranger was trying to bail him out and that was all that mattered. He didn't understand what was going on or why Jude seemed so worried. Hell, the man hadn't really touched Luke until just a moment ago but something about it felt, normal. He tightened a hand in Jude's before letting it go and pushing his body up to where he was sitting up fully now by himself. His arms weren't weak as much anymore and he looked down seeing no blood or bandaged wound on his left arm. His wide eyes found Jude as he realized why the doctors were shocked with his medical recovery.

"See," said that dashing stranger as he lifted his arms up. "Nothing to be worried about. He even wants to leave." The man said with a suave smirk. Doctor Miller looked back over to Luke and sighed softly, "well, if your primary care physician says you're fine, then... fine. I'll get the discharge paperwork." She said before storming off. The man watches as she walked away, and when it was all in the clear he moved over by Jude and Luke. He was a giant ranging from 6'4, and just towered over the two of them. "Hey short stuff." The man said as he ruffled Jude's hair like a child, only to receive a glare from him. "Fine, fine. I get it, no short remarks. You're just cuter than a cute baby bunny." He said before pinching his cheek.

 

Jude sighed as he pushed the man away. "Ethan stay focused..." he said, his eyes flashing up at him before looking back at Luke. Ethan nodded, and sat on the end of Luke's bed holding out his hands. "Hey, You must be that famous Luke. You seem like the drugs are warring off, which doesn't surprise me..." His eyes turned to Jude completely serious. "Did you tell him yet?" Ethan asked. Jude shook his head, "no. I was waiting for a better time." Jude said quietly, looking over his back. Ethan just shook his head, "there's never going to be a better time, Jude." This made Jude look down at his feet, his dark brown eyes shifting to Luke with a guilty expression. Jude couldn't help but feel guilty about all of this... if he just told Luke he couldn't leave his side, then he would still have that chance of a normal life.

 

Jude cupped Luke's hand, unable to make eye contact with him. "Luke... I've got some pretty heavy news." Jude said, finding it hard to breath. Was the room always so stuffy? "So... you might have noticed that your arm is completely healed up, and as much as I wish it was me again... it... wasn't." His heart felt like it was going to leap out from his stomach, and he couldn't bare to look Luke in the eye. "You... you see... you're... you..." He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words but unable to really say them. He opened his mouth to speak again, but Ethan cut him off. "You're a werewolf." Jude looked up at Ethan, before he looked back to the ground.

Luke sat up more and looked between the two of them as he watched the other doctor leave. "Who are you...?" he asked softly looking up to Ethan as he teased Jude and then sat down. His brain was still slightly fuzzy but he was still very attractive to Luke. He looked to Ethan seeing that he was whispering to Jude about something, did he have a secret? He watched the interaction between the two of them and caught the last bit of it. "Good time for what?" he asked as he leaned forward blinking a few times.

 

As Jude turned his attention to Luke he could only see the look in his eyes. "Why...why are you..." he tried to talk but Jude was already speaking and he looked down to his arm as it was mentioned. "That doesn't..." he trailed off as Jude continued to speak everything started to swirl out of control. "Wait what are you..." He shook his head his eyes snapping up to Ethan as he heard that word, werewolf. "I mus be really fucking high because I feel like I just heard you say I was a werewolf and I hope to God that is not what you just said." he closed his eyes shaking his head as he didn't want to believe it. He couldn't believe it. This fated chance and he was a werewolf? He would have to leave everything behind like Jude had, his boyfriend, his job, his education all of it would have to be set aside for his new lifestyle. He felt a laugh slowly rise from his chest and he shook his head once more again refusing to believe the two men.

Jude looked at Luke, remembering the feeling of his entire world turning upside down all too well. He remembered it like it was a broken bone, and the feeling of nostalgia was the cold winds reminding him that it still hurt. Jude looked down at his legs, before he got up and sat on the bed next to Luke. "I'm afraid... I'm all too honest here." Jude said sadly, afraid to make eye contact with him. He was afraid he was going to see that look of someone whose entire world shifted in a matter of seconds. He knew the feeling all too well, and dealt with these situations more often than he would like. Jude went to open his mouth again, but Ethan cut him off. "Look, I can kind of get where this could be shocking, but the only thing to do now is move with one foot in front. Your life is going to change a lot, and life isn't going to wait for you to come to terms with it."

 

Jude turned his head towards Ethan, clearly infuriated. "Asshole." He snapped. "You don't get it. You grew up into this, me and Luke weren't. Can you be a little sympathetic?" Ethan sighed and rolled his eyes, like a child being told what to do. He got back on his two feet and walked towards the door. "Then I'll leave the talking to you." He said, before exiting the room. Jude groaned and turned his attention back to Luke, his features changing to sympathetic. "Ethan, though I hate to admit it, was right. He could have worded it a bit better, but that's not how he does things." Jude said, before cupping his hand. "Life is going to be different for you now, Luke. You can try to adjust to it here, or... if you want, you can travel with me for a bit? I know a doctor trying to find a cure, he's a werewolf as well. I can introduce you two, and we can go our separate ways... if you want anyways. This is your decision."

Luke looked between the two of them a few times as the feelings in his limbs started to come back into feeling. They no longer felt heavy and foggy. He shifted slightly on the bed shaking his head a few times. "No...you...you don't understand I have a life! I have a family, friends, a boyfriend, I have college, a job! I can't just pick up and leave can I?" he asked tears springing to his eyes as he looked between the two of them. The words that Ethan spoke only caused a spark of hate in his heart and he shifted feeling the anger like a bullet in the head. It was so sharp, so raw, and he could feel it like it was the only thing left. He watched as the other man stood and left leaving Luke with Jude.

 

"What do I do...? What...what about the first time I turn into that? I don't want to kill anyone!" he felt the tears slide down his cheeks and he angrily wiped them away. "I want to get out of here..." he moved swooping his legs over the side of the bed and got down. He wavered slightly as if he was going to fall only to sturdy himself and walk to the bag of clothes brought in from the doctor. He quickly changed knowing Jude had seen everything under his covers anyway. "I...will have to say goodbye wont I?" he asked looking back to Jude as he buttoned up his shirt that look of pure sadness in his eyes. "I'll have to say goodbye to my family, my friends...my boyfriend...I'll have to leave it all behind wont I? To not hurt them?" he asked softly sinking onto the bed against feeling his hands go into his hair. He was silent for a long while before he addressed Jude once again, "I'll...come with you...If I try and hurt anyone you can put me down...least then I feel like those around me are safer." he said softly and stood grabbing his coat which was torn from the claws that did him in. He felt overly warm and so he didn't put it on dispite the chilly weather outside. "can we leave?"

Jude felt like someone was shooting arrows into his gut every time Luke asked him a question. He tried to keep a straight face, but he just felt so bad for Luke. Sure, Jude had to leave everything behind... he had no choice in that matter, but at least he wasn't turned into a werewolf. He licked his lips before he looked up at Luke, "I'm afraid you'll have to leave everything. I can help you when you turn into a werewolf... we just need to be cautious about where we are and when a full moon is." Thankfully Jude had connections from hunters like himself, to a few selected groups of the supernatural. Befriending those groups looked bad on Jude, but it came in handy when he needed information on something or for situations like these. "I can take care of all of it. I know you've known me for like twenty four hours, but you just have to trust me." Jude gave him a short smile, before he got up to stretch.

 

The craving for a cigarette hit him around the time Luke asked if they could go. He nodded just a bit, "sure thing..." He said quietly. Once they met up with Ethan, who was posted right outside, they all walked outside. The cold air hit Jude like a ton of bricks, so he quickly zipped up his jacket and put on the finger less gloves that were hidden in his pocket. He looked up at Luke and handed him his cigarettes. "Do you want one?" He asked, as he slipped one in between his lips. "Or... do you want a beer, or... just time to think? I can drop you off at your place, until you... er... get things sorted out."

Luke nodded lightly and followed Jude out of the sickening room. He felt a sigh as he saw Ethan waiting for them. He pulled his jacket over his shoulder walking with them out of the hospital. No one stopped them to ask unessicary questions which he was more than happy to avoid. As the cold air hit his face Luke paused closing his eyes and taking in the feeling. It was like he had a fever and he couldn't bring it down. He laughed softly at the voice of Jude, he stayed silent however for just a moment before he flashed his eyes to Jude. "I'm fine. Something stronger than a beer would be nice...I...have to figure out a way to tell my boyfriend and my family that I'm leaving..." he said softly looking up at the sky realizing that the night he loved so much would be a curse to him now.

 

"I need to pack..." he said softly and pushed his hands into his pockets looking down to Jude. "Was it hard...leaving everything behind? I feel...like I want to cry and throw something against a wall but at the same time I feel empowered like nothing could kill me." He laughed lightly. "How strange...my own body feels strange..." he took Judes hand and rested it on his cheek, "Am I supposed to be warm? My body feels like its on fire." he spoke softly almost in fear as he looked to his new friend. IT probably looked strange to those around for two men were standing in the parking lot so close to one another. Luke let his hand go instantly realizing that Jude probably was uncomfortable with it. Luke was freaking out he couldn't help but need some assurance he was normal.

The question about his family made him look down in pain. He didn't like thinking about his family or what lead up to him having to leave everything behind. Though maybe it was fare that Jude told Luke his story, sense he knew his... Though now was not the time. Jude's eyes followed his hand to Luke's cheek, his eyes locking with Luke's while he spoke. His thumb stroked Luke's comfortingly, a small sympathetic smile crossing his lips. "It's normal Luke, I assure you." He said after Luke took his hand off. "It gets better, and... hey, at least you'll make a heater." Jude said, trying to at least get a genuine smile on Luke's lips. "The only hard part will be full moons, but besides that everything will be... human." Jude offered him a soft smile, before squeezing his shoulders. He looked up at him, before he eyes looked at their shoes. "No... leaving will be the hardest part. I never really got to say goodbye to my family... I just watched them live their lives without me, before I skipped town." His eyes flashed back at Luke, a sad smile crossing his lips. "You get to say goodbye, which is something I have always wished I could have done.." Jude shook his head softly, trying to expel the bad memories before replacing them with a smile. "But hey, it won't be goodbye completely. If it's safe at the time, you can always visit... You just have to be careful, and plan it out. This job isn't safe, so you just need to be extra careful."

 

Ethan sighed softly, his arms crossed. He wanted to put himself in Luke's shoes, he really did, but this was getting annoying. He grew up in a world where all these things existed. Truth be told he didn't feel a lick of sympathy for the supernatural until he met Jude. He still had a hard time with certain creatures, but he was getting better... he thought anyways. "We should probably get going... you guys can discuss this later." He said a bit impatiently.

Luke felt that soft brush on his cheeks and his eyes leveled on Jude’s wishing that feeling could last a lifetime. It was so comforting. Such a simple movement caused the nervousness in his heart level. He smiled lightly at the Hester part but realized he wouldn’t be a heater to anyone. Not like he could keep up a relationship with his boyfriend from cities away. He jumped lightly hearing Ethan having pulled him from the moment. He looked back to Jude me he smiled lightly. “I’ll go with you...you know more about this shit than I do anyway. I’ll tell my family goodbye...and...I guess leave my partner.” That would be the hardest part for him. Leaving his boyfriend of a year and a half with no real reason at all. He wished he could make the other hate him or something to make it all easier but it would only be worse for Luke. He stepped away from Jude letting those more than comforting hands side from his shoulders. “Let’s go...like Ethan said. It’s probably better. I have to pack and all but then I’ll be back to meet up with you. Could...you drop me off st the flat?” He asked Jude not really liking Ethan other than his looks. He seemed pissed off and less than happy with the situation.

 

He wondered what his story was. He looked more then pissed off snd Luke realized that it was probably him. Ethan was a hunter by the sounds of it and Luke wasn’t helping. He probably wanted to kill him. The thought caused him to pause but he only shook his head and walked with Jude and Ethan the car

Ethan sighed and turned towards the car. "Finally..." He groaned. He opened the car door, and climbed into the back before sitting down. He was impatient... he hated hearing this depressing bull shit. He leaned back in his seat, watching Jude and Luke from the car window. Ethan really did wish he could be a lot more sympathetic about these situations, but he just couldn't. He never had to leave his family... hell, the only one he lost was his dad. Ethan has a set of his own issues, Jude and Luke's issues were beyond him.

 

Jude smiled and nodded at Luke, "yeah... of course." He said softly, his eyes shifting over to his trunk before he looked back at Luke. "You can bring your motorcycle too if you want... otherwise, pack lightly. Ride over to the motel when you're done, and then we'll get on the road..." Jude gave Luke's shoulder a friendly pat, before he hopped into the truck. He waited for Luke to hop in, before he sped down the street. He had a wonderful memory, so he didn't need directions to Luke's house. Jude liked to think that it was his memory that kept him alive for so long. He pulled into the driveway and gave Luke a kind look, "you got this." He whispered. "If you need anything, here's my number..." Jude grabbed a pen and a random gum wrapper from the middle console and wrote down his number before handing it over to Luke. "Call me for anything."

Luke tilted his head as he followed Jude to the truck. He stretched lightly and looked over to him, "I will bring my motorcycle. I wouldn't leave that thing anyway." He said with a laugh as he got comfortable in the truck. When they finally got to his apartment he looked up at it with a soft sigh, "Thanks...I will call you when I'm headed to you." he said hopping out of the truck and looking up at Jude a moment before he smiled a light smile. "I'll see you then." he said waving and heading up to his apartment flat. He would get everything he needed and then he would head to his boyfriends place, explain to him that he no longer wanted to be together and then go to his mothers.

 

After about two hours he was finished with getting everything in order. His boyfriend was of course upset and cried and asked him why he was leaving. He didn't understand anything but Luke had to leave him in tears at his apartment. His mother was easier, he simply told her he had landed a job outside of the country. This wasn't a bad thing and she actually welcomed the idea of him getting a better job that even paid better. When he left she was in happy tears for him and his chance to make a better life. He pulled out his phone as he walked out of her home dialing the number Jude had given him, he was wanting to tell him that he was on his way back. He pulled one leg over his bike and waited to turn on the engine till after the call.

Jude watched Luke go to his door, before he made his way to the hotel room. Ethan laid down in the back seat, his feet propped up on the cup holder. "You're being to soft..." Luke said, looking over to Jude as he drove. He could tell the shorter male was angry, because his hands tightened against the steering wheel, and his body tensed. There was a part of Ethan that could see why he was being so soft, but then there was that part of him that has kept him alive so many years that couldn't. "Look, you've met werewolves that had their shit together, Ethan. You're even friends with a few!" Jude snapped at him, looking at him through the mirror. "Luke's different... you know he is."

 

"Look, Jude." Ethan said as he sat up in his seat, and crawled into the drivers side. "Look at it through my perspective. How many innocent people did those guys have to kill, just to adjust?" Jude let out a frustrated sigh and groaned. "That's why I'm going to bring him to the most well adjusted werewolf I know, Ethan. I'm going to have him talk to a guy who knows all the rookie mistakes." Now the both of them were irriated, and they weren't shy to show it. "You're so impossible sometimes, Jude!" Ethan yelled.

"I'm impossible?" Jude yelled back, as he pulled into the hotel. "You've killed innocent people-"

"People?" Ethan yelled, cutting Jude off. "That's what we're calling them now, Jude? Their monsters! The same monsters that made you-" Jude turned his head, and shot Ethan a stare that could burn through titanium. "Do. Not. Finish. That. Sentence." Jude cursed, staring at Ethan a few moments longer to make sure he would stay silent before he turned off his car. "Look thank you for your help there... but I can take it from here. At least have some faith in me."

Ethan sighed softly and shook his head before he looked over at Jude, "it isn't that I don't have faith in you, it's that you've been too trusting in the past. It's what... it's why you're here." Ethan said softly, trying to tiptoe around Jude.

"Being too trusting isn't why I'm hunting, Ethan." Jude said a bit harshly, getting out of the car before slamming the door. "Just get away." Jude said, before storming in his room and slamming the motel door behind him.

 

It had been a few hours since Jude had been alone; Ethan was probably grabbing his car from the hospital before he headed back to his little brother, and Luke was... well... changing his life. Jude had gotten nearly everything packed and loaded in his car, when Luke called. "Hey," Jude answered softly. He wanted to ask him how everything went, and if we was alright, if he was hungry... but for now just a friendly hey would do.

Luke was happy to hear the phone click up, the soft and friendly 'hey' rang through his sensitive ears. He pulled the phone away from his ear with a wince, "Hey, I'm heading your way now...I've packed light. I'll be there in a few." He hung up, short and sweet. He didn't really want to talk at all, he was still trying to swallow everything that was happening. He had just left his lover, told his mother the biggest lie in his life, and spent alot of time with his thoughts. He had packed everything he felt like he needed and then packed some things he didn't. He had a few pictures of his family and then he had a picture of his lover on their one year anniversary. He remembered the day like it was yesterday. His boyfriend had surprised him with a hot springs get away for a weekend for their anniversary. They spent the entire weekend practically naked and in baths or in each others arms. It was much needed and greatly enjoyed.

 

He turned the engine on and revved it. He then pulled his helmet on and drove out of his apartment building parking lot for the last time in forever. He would never be back here and it was awful. He drove over one hundred trying to ignore the thoughts and the tears that streamed down his cheeks. He got to the motel sooner than he thought and he parked beside Jude's truck. He pulled out his phone and pulled his helmet off. He called Jude having not remembered the number of the room the other male was staying in.

 

"Hey, I'm here. Lets get out of here...the longer we stay the harder this is going to be for me. I'm ready, so I'll wait for you out here." he said softly yet friendly not really wanting to talk at all. He knew Jude wanted to talk about it all, pick his brain to try and understand how he was feeling. To try and analyze how he was doing and what he was thinking about with his new transition. This of course was something he never wanted to have to face and yet now, he had to on his own.

"See you then," Jude said before Luke hung up. He pulled the phone from his ear and shoved it into his pocket, as his eyes scanned the hotel room. Was there anything he was missing? He checked the room one last time, making sure that all of his weapons and wards weren't left behind. The last thing he wanted was a poor confused housekeeper looking at some sort of weird symbol or even finding a gun. He knew his own confusion when Ethan and his family showed him his first ward, so he couldn't even imagine someone who knew nothing of the things he's seen. Jude grabbed the room key and headed out of the room, feeling positive that he didn't leave anything behind. Now all that was left was to return the keys and wait for Luke.

 

Jude had just opened the office door when he got the call from Luke. He picked up the phone, holding it in place between in shoulder and ear. "Hey! I'll be out in just a second." He said shortly before he hung up and put the keys on the desk. "Thank you," he said quickly, before he rushed out of the office and outside to Luke. He looked at him, noticing his puffy cheeks from crying almost immediately. He wanted to give him some words of advice or something, but he figured now wasn't the time. "I got some wood we could use as a ramp for your bike. I think it might be smart if we ride together right now, you know just in case we get separated or something." Jude said as he folded down one of the flaps on his trunk, and pulled out a large piece of wood. "Just roll your bike onto this, and we'll be on our way!" He said as he checked to see if it was stable enough, before stepping back.

Luke pulled the phone from his ear as Jude hung up. He sighed lightly running a hand through his hair as he waited patiently for Jude to come to him. When he came down the stairs Luke forced a smile onto his face, "Hey, thanks. I can ride alone you know...I wouldn't lose you. I'm alright." he said and walked his bike to the truck loading it into the back. "Don't worry about me. I can see it written all over your face, I'm fine. Lets just...get out of here." he said softly and took a strap and tied it to the truck then around his bike making sure it was stable and wouldn't fall during their trip. "So, where are we heading off to?" he asked hopping down from the truck and stretching. He pulled his bag over his shoulder and moved to the passenger side of the door throwing it into the floor boards.

 

He was still confused on where they were going or what they could do to better Luke's situation. Ethan seemed to not give a damn about it all and he seemed to be pissed off that Luke was needing some time to adjust. It all made sense though, he was turned into a monster last night and he had to abandon his family and his boyfriend that he had fallen in love with. He was torn up inside from not only himself but the wolf raging inside of him wanting to break free. It wouldn't be so bad if he could control it, the wolf, if he could control it he could refrain from hurting someone. He could enjoy the wolf and the times they spent together running as one. He figured this meant not hating that side of him, he wouldh ave to ask Jude about it later and see if it was possible to control the wolf inside.

"Well," Jude began to say as he hopped into the car. "We're headed towards North Dakota where my friend lives. But knowing my luck, we might have to solve a few cases along the way." Jude said shortly as he started the truck, his eyes darting at the motorcycle in the back. It looked as if it was all tucked in tight. He waited for Luke to hop into the car, before he sped out of the hotel parking lot. "He's a really nice guy. He's a werewolf that has actually gotten those full moons down to a science. He hasn't had to kill anyone in... about seven years." Jude said proudly, looking over at Luke with a smile. Even though he said he was fine, he knew that Luke wasn't. At least he had the chance to say goodbye though? His eyes returned back to the road and he sighed. Maybe he should tell him his story?

 

"So, I've been thinking about it for a few hours... and I was wondering if you wanted to hear my story?" Jude said, clearly nervous. "I felt that it was only fair that you knew how I got here, sense I know how you did?" Not many people heard Jude's story, because he really didn't like talking about it... However, it was only fair? Maybe it would make Luke feel like he was apart of something?

The destination was still not really explained so after Luke got in he made himself comfortable buckling his seat belt. "Your story?" he asked peering over to Jude. "I wouldn't mind...but what do you mean this friend of yours has the full moons down to a science? Is there a way to control it...? The power inside?" he asked turning slightly in his chair to look at Jude better. He didn't want to ask him too much in the worry it would upset him. He hated that, upsetting people. "How did you get here? I mean how did you even get into hunting things like that-" He stopped himself and sighed, "Like me?" he asked his eyes focusing on Jude as the car started to roll out of the parking lot.

 

He didn't know where they were going or what they were going to do but he felt safe with Jude. Surprisingly, considering the other male hunted supernatural beings for a living. He didn't want to pry too much because it would for sure bother Jude, or so he thought.

Jude would be lying if he said he didn't think Luke's eagerness made him smile. He peered over at Luke, his eyes flashing over to the rode. "Oh yeah! Despite popular belief among the other hunters, it's completely possible to control it." Jude said as he turned onto a freeway and sped up. "It'll take time, but he can help you. I just know it." Jude reached over and lightly rubbed Luke's shoulder, his eyes looking over at the road. The other half of the question made Jude feel sick almost. He did offer to tell Luke, but it wasn't really a story he liked to tell.

 

"Well, as for how I got into this whole... mess..." Jude took a deep breath, puttibg both hands on the steering wheel. "As you know I had a boyfriend. His name was Roman, and we were highschool sweethearts, and we were even getting married and shit." The feeling of excitement he felt back then crept up on him, and it made his stomach curl. "Well, he was apart of this religious group... and his family was head of the Church. Of course I was curious about his faith... we were together, and we planned to spend eternity together." Jude rolled his eyes and shook his head, sighing deeply. "Well I started taking an interest, but after a few weeks I started feeling... weird. I felt sick, and my memory was just awful... and then... next thing you kbow I remenber laying in bed one moment, and I'm strapped to a chair looking at Ethan and his family the next." Jude rubbed the back of his neck before he reached over to grab his cigarettes, placing one in between his lips before lighting it. He took a long drag before he started to talk again, "well turns out Roman and his family were a group of Vampires that fed off of energy and life force, rather than blood. Tgey took enough of it that I became their puppet, and took away an entire year of my life so I could do their bidding. I've killed innocent people, mamed, gathered them like cows... you name it. They even made me leave my family, abd out of fear they might hurt them I've had to keep it that way..."

Luke leaned into the feeling of the hand against his shoulder only to feel it gone as soon as it had gotten there. He could feel the tense atmosphere almost as soon as Jude let out that sigh and brought his hands back to the wheel. Luke had been kind of looking around before this but right when he started to speak he turned to him in disbelief. When Jude was finished for a moment Luke shook his head a few times, "Wait, your "boyfriend" used you to feed himself and made you do awful things and yet you were still sad to leave him? You made him sound like an amazing guy back there and that you didn't want to leave him but he sounds awful! Why would you want to stay with him...? Other than to protect your family? Yo uare a great guy you deserve way better than that..." He puffed out his cheeks a little with a sigh and anger trying to keep his words from angering the other.

 

It was so strange to think that there were monsters out there that made people into slaves practically to do their bidding. It was sickening to think that someone as brave and kind as Jude was forced into something like this by someone he supposedly loved. It was awful to think that someone who was so close, and so trusted, would turn on him like that and use him for his own needs. Luke understood wanting to be with someone and learn their faith and all but this was insane. It was n't even a relationship it was a master/slave situation with Jude right in the middle. He wanted to ask more questions but he was worried he was alaready saying too much so luke kept to himself the best he could.
