auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. oh, i'm so glad you liked the series! i agree with you about everything haha... this series is one of my fave from josh lanyon. alongside holmes & moriarity series. yes. me just like you, love elliot father a bit more than the main couple haha.. he's so cool. and i always love to read cool parents so this feels like a really great bonus i gotta read in the book. about the mystery; yes you're right & i agree w you. i like reading josh lanyon mystery books bc the exact reason. it's not too details but it's kinda enough to build up anticipation. i love reading mystery but i sucked in solving them tho haha.. okay about the 4th book. there's no fourth book as far as i know :/ i know it's not fair (ironic). but i can recommend you other series which i think you might like it as well (if you don't, kick me in the ass haha). so how about you try: - holmes & moriarity series - the art of murder series - the adrien english mystery series (this one is the most popular one among JL fans but not me. i'll tell you why after you read them haha) ---------- ps: just like Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. said, i don't like/prefer shifters books but i got a surprise for you. i like mpreg story. i know guys, i'm weird Are there mpreg stories that are not shifters? O_o Now you've got me interested! Wait, is it the weird alien fantasies? That's one thing I haven't read yet. I actually didn't realize that the other book in the series are about the same couple! I'm so used to BL novels ending when the couple gets together, so now I'm triple excited for the next book:)) Thank you for the recommendation!! I didn't expect the writer to actually write a book about Sherlock Holmes:) Well, I assume it's about him:) And you kind of intrigue me and now I think I will start with the Adrien series:)) I'm curious what you didn't like:D A bit off topic, but if you like mysteries have you read "Think of the Number"? It's not BL, but it's a good mystery and I just love love love it.
auser
Hi Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I would like to recommend you some of the books that you're looking for. These are the first ones that I could think of: 1) for omegaverse, I recommend Kingdom of Askara series by Victoria Sue (there are three books so far: "The Alpha King", "The Alpha Heir", and "The Alpha Prince"). I also like her Enhanced series, although it's not omegaverse. As for other omegaverse books, I have to delve into my collections more and sort them out. Frankly, I forget which is which and whose is whose because there are so many of them which have almost similar titles, names, plots, and characterizations... So frustrating! *Hands up* For non-mpreg shifter genre, aside from "Wolfsong" by TJ Klune, I also recommend The Wolfkin Saga series (two books in total: "Wolves of Black Pines" and "Wolf of the Northern Star") by SJ Himes. They're my favorite re-read, sooo good! 2) I haven't read anything similar to that trope, I'm sorry. 3) Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. has already mentioned some of the wonderful books ("Stealing Innocents", so dark and twisted, I loved it!). You can also read: - literally anything by Kol Anderson and Quil Carter - "Cafe Blue" by J. Carter Swift 4) If you like Josh Lanyon's writings (as recommended by Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. ), I also recommend "Can't Hide From Me" and Seven Spades series (one book so far which is called "Kill Game"; the rest will be published in every three months) by Cordelia Kingsbridge. She's so into characterizations (just check out her Tumblr) and that's why she's one of my favorite authors of all time. I also recommend her original M/M which you can find on AO3 under the same pen name if you're into BDSM That's all for now. If you want more, just tell me ^^ AAAAA... I'm excited for more more more books:D I'm really happy that you listed the omegaverse ones.. It's so hard to find the good ones! Most that I've read are so cliche that I almost always stop half-way. And my standards are pretty low! So if you ever remember more, I'm always grateful:D:D Cordelia Kingsbridge sounds like a perfect author for me. Also, yep, I'm into BDSM (TMI..?), so I definitely will google her:D I'm pretty sure I will read pretty much all of the books on your list and I will let you know what I think.. Thank you so much for the recommendations!!!
Nico139
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I think you should try the books by Claire Cullen and Samantha Cayto too for the omegaverse. Are you limited to wolves-only shifter stories or you like other shifters too? Do you like court politics? I've just read this wonderful original work on AO3, "The Course of Honor" by Avoliot. I can't believe it hasn't been published yet; the characterizations, the plot, the pace, the politics! I can go on and on haha Cordelia is a practitioner of BDSM so she knows what she's talking about Yes please let me know what you think after reading the books
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Oh no, I'm not picky at all:) I'm more into the whole Alpha/Beta/Omega thing than the actual shifting:) I will check out the authors right away! And no, I don't think I've ever come across anything about court politics, but if you add yaoi to it, I will read pretty much anything:) So I will definitely give it a try! As for Cordelia.. does it mean I will get a BDSM story with an actual consent and a safe word?! I won't believe in it till I read it! Thank you for the advice!!! auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I've chosen Senseless and Fallocaust by Kol Anderson and Quil Carter and The Rouge's Omega by Samantha Cayto. Are they good ones to start with? I usually drop the author completely if I don't like one of their works, so I try to choose carefully. Speaking of which, I already tried "Alpha Bound" by Claire Cullen and I really didn't the like omega there - he was scared of everything, weak and needy, so I was pretty unsatisfied with the whole experience. Was it just a bad book? Should I give her works another chance? I know it's not a bad book, I just don't like these types of main characters. Nico139
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I'll tell you more when I've sorted my omegaverse collection, okay? It has arranged marriage trope too, I highly recommend it! Cordelia practically opens Q&A about BDSM on her Tumblr lol, so her BDSM stories really ring true. Go read them
Nico139
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Senseless and Fallocaust are a good start as any. Just prepare yourself mentally lol. As for omegaverse, I recommend you start reading Kingdom of Askara series first (because it's the first one that popped into my mind that has strong Omega characters). Oh, sorry! I'll re-read Clare Cullen's books (and other omegaverse books) to refresh my memory. I'll tell you soon which book you should read ^^
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Ahah ok;) Are you going to reread ALL of your omegaverse books? That does sound like an amazing end of the year plan:D Have you by any chance read "Bitten By Mistake"? I've finished it in a few hours yesterday, and while it wasn't the best thing I've ever read, there were quite a few things I enjoyed - compatible and pretty much equal main characters, the omegaverse story not centered around an alpha, no instant fated mates things.. So it was a fun ride, even If I doubt I will reread it:)
Nico139
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. It is, isn't it? And I'm planning to make a spreadsheet of it too, complete with tags and all. It'll be a fun project, no? Haha No, I haven't read it. But Annabelle Jacob's Torsere Trilogy is on my to-read list. I'll add it, thanks for telling me!
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. you could even post the spreadsheet on the forum, I think a lot of people will find it useful:) If you want to, of course xD Coming to think of it.. Personally, I would never ever ever in my life post My read Manga list anywhere - the stuff there (and my commentary) should be encrypted, password-protected and preferably burnt:)
Nico139
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Lol I'll share it to you first. I've once made it for my collection of 00Q fics and it very very helpful for me when I want to read particular genre or trope based on my moods. Heyy I'm curious about it. I think we have almost similar tastes in books, so why should manga be any different?
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. ahah I'm honored! I'm a bit worried it will destroy my life though - I spend most of my nights reading yaoi as it is, with your guide I might never leave the house:) As for manga.. While I've read a lot of truly good stuff, I also had time to find (and at times enjoy) stuff I probably shouldn't - crazy kinks, hardcore bestiality, incest and some other stuff I prefer not to mention.. The list is dirty and half of the stuff there feels illegal (if it isn't actually:) So nope, only my therapist will learn about it. But I agree and I'm pretty sure we've read and loved a lot of the same stuff:) We should later discuss manga too.
voide
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. there are in fact non-shifters mpreg novels. there you said it yourself, 'weird' alien story lol also, i read a few AU fanfics which featured my fave pair that doesn't have to do with shifters or omega verse at all. this i can enjoy. i love to find out how the author going to write the mechanic of male pregnancy in the story. total gem stuff haha.. no. it's not that sherlock. haha..try read it & you'll find out. i really love kit in that series. almost everyone i met hated him. bc he sounds sissy. let me know what you think about it too. ah, sounds really a good mystery book; Think of the Number. i'm up for it. may i know the author, please? & thanks for the rec! auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I'm almost disappointed it's not the same Sherlock. But I do hate historical settings, so maybe it's for the best though..^^ The book is written by John Verdon, in fact he has the whole series of book about the same character (all are reaally good), and "Think of the Number" is the first one. I hope you will like it, but either way I would really like to know what you think! We have a long weekend ahead of us, so I'm pretty sure I will already finish something by the end of it and will let you know too.
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. With all our conversations, it took me 10 minutes to locate the one where we discussed All's Fair:D Anyway, it's finished!! Yay!! It was a sweet sweet ride, but I do think that the last two books were definitely more of a mystery novel than a M/M romance, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just different from what I've experienced before:D I really like the author's depiction of sex (and not in any pervy way, there were just a few moments that made me pause and think for a second. And, ok, maybe in a pervy way it was also a good read xD) And the mystery kept me on edge most of the time, I became completely paranoid and in the last book I was suspecting everyone.. Honest to God, for a good chunk of it, Tucker was my main suspect xD It fit, damn it! xD I would have given the author standing ovation if he had actually gone with it xD But the ending was so.. abrupt, no? You already told me there wasn't a forth book, but wow that was cut short, no? Anyway, thank you for a wonderful recommendation that caused me a few sleepless night! Definitely worth of a reread some day!
voide
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. agree w you about the sex. some of them are laughable tho.. but i get tiring easily w explicit sex scenes in the book. i enjoyed them bc that's a progress in MC's rship we're all readers anticipated but sometimes it gets bored. too much dicks & ass holes nah.. so that's why i liked JL books, it approached sex differently or can i say metaphorically or purple prose? haha what's happening to me?? ; ) no shit sherlock. guess what? i had the same thoughts too haha.. that would be fun isn't it? more conflict, more drama, more angsty. i liked it glad you enjoyed it! ps: yeah, you're right. i wish there would be book 4 :/
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. am I crazy or did your user name change colour? xD Anyway, added a few books on my read list: Hot Head, Him and Hell & High Waters (THIRDS). I kind of feel bad when I have so many recommendations and I end up reading something that nobody even mentioned xD But you know - sometimes you're in a mood for something specific:) Anyway, have you read any of them? I really didn't like hot head, but two others were quite fun. Well, THIRDS was much more predictable than All's Fair when it came to the actual mystery, and the main character is not really my favorite type of the main character (he is the one that everyone likes and adores, and I hate it because I could never relate xD), but I still think I will read more:D
voide
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. you're not crazy my friend haha.. yeah, it changed back to blue. it was green colour before bc of that sharing scary stories for halloween event i showed you. ah, more books. that's okay. i totally understand what you feel : ) yeah, i've read Him. but not Hot Head & THIRDS series, yet. oh, THIRDS series is a mystery book? i didn't know that..maybe i'll check that out later. Him was fun, you're right. but i expected more story about their sports but like always it didn't happened :/
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Oh My God, voide, I didn't know... are you one of those weirdos that reads BL books for an actual PLOT?! xD Ahah, I can't say that I've missed the hockey scenes, but I do believe the first part of the book (with all the angst) was much more fun:) Yep, THIRDS is a mystery series, but I've guessed most of where the story was going and who the killer was in the first so early on it was practically a downer to read afterwards. Also, another warning - it's a shifter series, albeit not the most typical one. There is some element of shifting in the story, but almost nothing about the whole alpha/omega concept and it deals more with racism, inter-species coexistence than anything else. It was refreshing to see the world where humans shown for what they are, rather than like in most stories, to show them drool over the shifters:D I think shifting wasn't your thing, right? Alien pregnancies were though xD
voide
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. ouch, i'm hurt lmao yes i'm one of the weirdos you can judge me all you want mate, i don't mind. even in porn, i preferred the one w storyline not just straight away w pound that a$$ w that dick hahaha... oh, that was some world there in THIRDS series. i kinda intrigued. but we'll see. lol alien pregnancies. mate it was actually interesting ;D
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. "w pound that a$$ w that dick"? I guess we can safely assume that you stay loyal to M/M pairing even in your porn:D .. kinky^^ In all seriousness, I get it:D I like when there is an actual plot as well instead of just sex, but I do prefer when it's mostly centered on the relationship rather than a mystery/politics/etc. (Unless the mystery is good, like in fair game:D) I really liked in the middle of somewhere series because of that.. It was all about the relationships, but not really about sex:) And hey, I'm still waiting for the name of that alien pregnancy - broaden my horizons, dear! voide
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. haha kinky..yeah, you can say that oh, you want my recc? oh, i didn't realized that. ok, got it. i'll check my shelf & see what i got for you. true, true. i want a plot & relationship story too. but my definition of relationship here might varies from you guys. bc most of the books MM readers loved/liked, i find that i dislike many of them. Racheal (one of the active MM books uploaders) said, i was hard to please..maybe i am ha.. i'll leave you message on your page or pm you for mpreg books : )

auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Holy crap!! I've read Stealing Innocents! I'm lost for words.. The first story is amazing, brilliant, twisted and wonderful - exactly what I was looking for, nothing more, nothing less. I loved the idea, the characters and I was extremely confused whether or not the sex scenes were disturbing or hot:) I've never really read about mind break (at least not this type of it) and wow.. It gave me chills, and not the good ones, but at the same time I still ship them. I was happy when I finished the story and it's definitely a reread for me:D The rest of the stories were nice and I had fun until the very last one about Arkadiy.. And yep, halfway through I chickened out and started skimming over the pages. I finally found something that was too messed up for me! The author had the decency not to turn all of the horrific possibilities into reality and the story turned out to be much less f*cked up than it could have been, but I'm too horrified by what could have been (and what did happen!!) to take comfort in that. Never mind the character, I think I suffered some physiological damage by reading through this. I'm never reading this again, but I'm glad I did. Now nothing will ever scare me. (Upd: I figured out what was my big no-no - body mutilation threats. Physiological stuff, hardcore stuff I'm ok with, but this one is too much for me to handle. Good to know:D) So.. I'm scarred for life, but that was the goal and I'm really really grateful for the recommendation!!! I needed this book in my life, it's a piece of messed up perfection, I LOVE it and thank you so so so much for recommending^^
