Kitomiki
Hi, I am new here! Anyways so I recently became more addicted with reading more yaoi. I am the type of person to read yaoi anywhere to be honest and not care as much about my surroundings, but one day when I was reading yaoi in public, a friend of mine who does not know this "field" asked me what I was doing. I kinda panicked because I never realized that someone might actually ask me this question. So I told her the truth and said I am reading BL manga and explained what it was to her. She just said "Ok" and then walked away. Based on her reaction, I think she was surprised but she did not give me a weird look. Anyways, I am a guy and I read yaoi usually in private but sometimes in public. My question is how would you react when you see a guy reading yaoi? littlespiral
Hello Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , fellow yaoi addict! if it was me, my initial reaction would be to squeal and then offer you the highest of high-five, because from where i live, meeting another mutual who appreciates yaoi, especially at a random public place, would be a dream come true! i'd probably chat you up and ask about things yaoi-related like what current mangas you're currently into or who's your favourite pairing etc to the point that you'll find me either creepy or annoying XD
auser
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. I'm in the process of reading something smutty most of the time, including when I'm in public, so the last thing I would want people to do is to pick at my ebook/phone. So that's why I don't do it to other people either, I think it's a bit rude:) So I probably wouldn't have any reaction, but if someone does, it really shouldn't bother you that much - you're free to like what you like. KatieMH25!
Hey there Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. My answer is "Me too! What a lovely coincidence!" and from that start up a conversation with the guy lol I sometimes read on the bus or on my lunch break and I get really embarrassed about what I'm reading so I only say that I'm reading a manga but not what type it is However if someone else admitted to reading yaoi than I would too! It doesn't matter to me if that was a guy or a girl - I'd just be happy that there's someone else who likes the genre! sadly though, I've never met anyone in real life who does - sure some ppl like anime that I know but not yaoi
Sanka
To be totally honest I probably would just be like 'same' on the inside but pretend not to notice outwardly. I actually don't like talking about my love of yaoi and anime irl because I feel a bit embarrassed so I'd probably try my best to avoid it in general. I certainly wouldn't judge you for it. batista
I would be happy to see someone besides me reading yaoi in public and just ask what the person is reading and chit chat about the awesomeness of BL sometimes I have costumers with YOI. Shirts or accessories so I would ask them too if they how much of a fan they are of it and if they like other BL. So I am really cool about it and just like seeing likeminded people
397Haruo
I kinda understand you on there. I'm a fudanshi and I absolutely love reading BL materials especially manga. Unfortunately, those materials are hardcore (and you probably know what I mean) so I ended up secretly reading these. But thankfully, I have another BL lover on my side that I can always talk to. She's more like the open type so everybody had get used to her. But not me, anyways.
Dreimer
Weeeell, I am a fudanshi too, and I kinda read/watch yaoi in public too because sometimes when there's an update, I just can't help but watch soooo yeah, so far people haven't caught me yet, or they simply just don't care. HAHAHA good thing is I got a lot of friends-turned to fujoshis so I have someone to fanboy with and just squeal with XD
SavourtheHunt
I can't say I've ever actually seen anyone reading yaoi in public before but I did overhear a conversation in the book store between two men in their 20s about which yaoi/BL series they were planning on reading/watching next and which were their favourites. I even got pulled into the conversation when one of them noticed that I was holding a yaoi manga and one he thought was a yaoi/BL based on the cover. Can't say I minded, though, since I don't know many people interested in manga/anime in general and the only fellow yaoi addict lives in a different country, so we don't get to speak very often. MisterCoffee
I'm new here so I'm sorry if I'm posting in a non active thread. Still getting used to this place. But anyway, If I saw someone reading yaoi I would probably go over to them and start a friendly conversation. It's nice meeting new yaoi fans especially when they live in the same city as I do. Hoping I don't look like a weird person asking to be friends out of the blue But I'll get overly excited seeing a fudanshi reading Yaoi in public. He's really really brave! yoyo5 *salute*
