Racheal
Serge Battour is the son of a French viscount and a Romani prostitute, and despite his kind nature and academic talent, is shunned by his family and his peers due to the color of his skin. He begins to attend Lacombrade Academy, his father's alma mater, in the hopes that there he will find a place to belong. Gilbert Cocteau is, like Serge, the orphaned son of a wealthy family, and is infamous at Lacombrade for his beautiful and delicate appearance, lack of dedication to schoolwork, and habit of prostituting himself to other students. He has no intention to connect with any of his classmates, instead devoting himself to his uncle Auguste. Due to a shortage of living space, Serge and Gilbert become roommates even though Gilbert's antisocial nature has in the past made it impossible for him to room with anybody. Serge, being sociable and idealistic, is determined to be friends with Gilbert; Gilbert is only interested in either being able to manipulate Serge or push him away entirely. To the surprise of both of the boys, however, the two eventually form a deep, albeit generally dismal, bond that leads to a romantic connection. In 1979, this series was awarded the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award for shounen/shoujo manga. For those who don't like yaoi - this manga is more of shounen-ai and the sex scenes are nothing like the ones you can see in modern yaoi mangas. A bit of warning: "Kaze..." includes scenes of rape and child abuse (but no shota). Original Title: Kaze to Ki no Uta Alt. Riki
Hello Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , thank you for the links! Do you happen to know where could I buy the whole series in paperback format? In Japanese, of course. I looked through Amazon, but they only seem to have 1-10 volumes. Aaand, sorry for asking this here, I didn't know of any other thread where to ask
Racheal
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. First of all, there are many version of it. If it's bungo. You can search using keyword 風と木の詩 白泉社文庫, the completed set for this one is only 10 volumes. The comics one is 17 volumes, so you have to decide first which one you want. Next, there are many ways you can order paperback directly from Japan, but it is depend on where you are too. First, Mostly manga bungo magazine, and book that sell directly by Amazon Japan can be ship to America. You will see "アメリカ合衆国にお届けできます" under the price. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. If you are in America, you can order from them. From my experience, it usually takes only 2-3 days for them to arrive. Amazon JP will use DHL, no other choice. They will send you text and e-mail, and you can schedule them to delivery at the day/time you are convenient, or hold it somewhere and you can pick it up. All oversea orders will need signature BTW. I use their service a lot. Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. Second is Kinokuniya If you have them in your area, you can order mostly any book and CD thru them. I would say if you order 3-4 books. Amazon JP is definitely cheaper than Kino. If it only one book, depend on weight but it usually almost the same. Third, there are some books, such as second hand complete sets that sell by third party and usually don't ship oversea. In this case you have couple choices.I recommend Buyee or CD-Japan. There is some service fee, just a little bit, and domestic shipping from seller to them that you have to pay extra tho' Forth, yahoo auction thru buyee. sometime you will find unbelievable good deal from yahoo auction too, and if you use sniper bit, you can put the highest price you willing to pay and they will bit for you. No worry they don't put the highest price, they will keep adding a little bit at the time and keep your bit as low as they can, and if someone out bit you, you will get an e-mail. Some items have buyout price option, so if you don't wanna wait you can just buy it with that price. The last I can think of is CD Japan does sell comic too, but not as variety as you can find at AmazonJP and Yahoo Auction. You may have to compare all the price for each product tho' Sometimes the price gap is 2 time different. ^ ^; Hope this help you Riki R
Riki
Wow Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. , that's such a detailed answer. Thank you so much! I don't live in America, but I do have a shipping address in the US since I buy quite a lot from them. But if a signature is needed, I don't know if I could use it. Have never bought directly from Japan so it scares me a little bit... Also, no Kinokuniya around here, and that's a shame because every person I talk to always mention Kinokuniya haha. And, nice collection you have there! Especially like your 5-nin no Ou books! They're beautiful. I'll let you know if I'm able to buy the whole series, so you will know for sure your reply was pretty useful
Racheal
Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. you're welcome. If you live outside US you should check CDJapan and Buyee they ship to many countries. It is better than you pay shipping to US and then to your Country. I have a lot of mangas in my house in Japan and Thailand. I don't buy much any more. and I love 5ninnoou so much that I buy pretty much everything they released. And the good thing is they ship to my country!! the bad is the shipping price is just too much for me... Going through the US would be cheaper but it's still too much Anyway, I'll try to find other ways!
