i lost the battle and ended up buying a kindle paperwhite, i'm still upset about the memory but at that price they are all more or less blocked at 4gb. And do you know what i discovered? It seem it support the audiobook you judt need to buy sn adaptor from amazon (or so it say) XD so i think i'm happy enough. Ok i'm returning to play with it and discover all his functions now! Thank all you guys for your help!!!

Ps. Racheal i saw you have goodreads on the bar at the top, how do i make it show?

I remember how much of a pain it was to sort stuff on my old Kindle.. I was hoping the new ones would be more user-friendly.. Although, I'm even more scared by the nightmare that would be converting all of my books into mobi T_T just thinking about this makes me want to buy something simpler instead.

or do like

- keep just a few on the kindle at the time.

Still, I think after Racheal's advice I will still go with Paperwhite;)

you have used kindle before, so you probably already know about this this.

When you add a lot of books at the same time. I think it is a bit easier to use Manage your content and Devices on Amazon website.

You can sort the books by Authors and you can add 10 books at the time, so if you want to use authors as category, I don't think it's that bad tho' or you can add it in order for each collection you intend to create and then sort by Oldest and Newest I can do 1000 in less than an hour and after that you just have to add as you go, so you will need to work hard only in the beginning. Since it links to your Amazon acc, even if you change to a new kindle, it will still be there, so it is probably worth working for..

The good thing about kindle is when you sent files or buy books. They were also added to amazon cloud that connects to your account. The books will show on your kindle like an index, but you don't have to actually DL them until you need them . When you done with it you can remove them form your device and re-dl it back anytime you want to read it again. Just tap on the book name in you kindle which is pretty convenient since you don't need much memory to store all of them.

Another popular choice is Kobo. I don't know much about it tho'

actually I did not know about this - I didn't normally register my kindle copy before, for.. ahem, reasons that not all of my books come from Amazon xD have you ever had any problems if you bought/downloaded books here (or elsewhere) & then put them on your Kindle?

so thank you so much for the explanation, I thought the only way to sort would be manually on your kindle (which was especially horrible because my old version of kindle didn't have a touch screen T_T)

P.S. Kobo looks nice as well, but shipping from Canada.. that might not be worth it:)

P.S.S. if you don't register your kindle, you also never receive the advertisement.

nope I never have any problems with adding books I downloaded. If the formats are not azw3, your kindle will categorize them as documents. Even mobi that did not come directly from Amazon I mean converted from other formats kindle see them as documents. I have around 800 books that I bought and around 1100 I got from somewhere else.

I did pay 20 dollar to remove the ads, so I didn't realize if you do not registered you won't get it, but I don't think it's not that bad my friend said you can turn off suggestions, so the ad will be very little and it will be automatically disabled while you are reading too. Also if you registered, you can use "send to kindle " you DL files in to your computer then righ click and choose send to kindle and then done.

Anyway, you can registered you kindle, get your files managed then deregistered it. Your collection and your documents will be the same and if you need to change your device you can register again to update all your collections to the cloud and then register the new one to get all your books in place and organized and then deregister it again. As long as 4 gb memory is enough for you. I think you did not lose anything else by not registered your kindle.

Organized them in computer is a lot more faster and convenient than in Kindle directly. You should try when you get your new kindle Mochi ;D

sadly kindle registration is mandatory. but that is not really a problem i only see ads whem you put kindle in standby, and the suggestion is actually nice i can simply check real fast if i see a book which interest me (then load here and see if there is the book XP).

You can manage all of them. I used them all the time. You can create folders and then add the books, 10 at the time, and can sort them out by date or by name or by author name which is pretty convenient and then you can also search the folders name you want to add your book in to so you don't have to scroll down too.

Doesn't matter you buy them from amazon or not. Just go to "content and devices" and then "Your device" and click at the dot next to your kindle choose "show you device content" The books you downloaded and and added by yourself will be under content filter "Docs" you can have them all show together or just "books" or "docs"

You just have to play around with it for a while and you will be able to find out which way is working for you the best.

You can send the books you downloaded yourself to your kindle using amazon could. For the ones you did not buy directly from amazon, They will be under docs

You cannot disconnect the could from your kindle, as long as your kindle has been registering, but you can have them show only DL. mean it will show only the book you have in your kindle or if you want you can have it show only collections too.

Oh, this is interesting. I thought you could not have in your Kindle books not bought through it. Or if they sell a book, but you bought/downloaded it from another site kindle would not accept it.

It's all thanks to Racheal 'teaching'!!

, I’ve just got my Oasis and love it but can’t seem to find a good case or cover? Just wondering which you use or do you not bother with cases/covers?

I usually using Amazon official cover but for 2017 oasis the official cover is really horrible. Not enough protection and keep falling off also it worn out in short period of time.

The one I am using now is

It's perfect fit and gives Oasis enough protection when carrying around. I usually take my Oasis off the cover when I am reading and this case is super easy to put in and take out, and don't leave any mark on the device.

There is another one

same but different material. If you like leather look more.

There is another one looks just like this one but cheaper around 16$ something but the quality is different.

I did try origami style too but it is really hard to take oasis off, so I stick with the Denim Casebot.

Hope it helps
