THOUSAND BLADES

 

 

It is - they say.

But not today,

slowly in decay.

 

We all seek,

but the cracks -

oh, do they creak.

 

I have fought

a thousand battles,

still, my heart rattles.

 

But don't you speak

about pain as applique,

because you are not

so unique.

 

Draw me in the sand,

for my solace is at hand -

nothing grows on demand.

 

And when the blade breaks,

remember, it's not the shakes

but my aches.
