Oh my god why these have to be so tough? All the books picked for voting are intriguing in one way or another arghh cant make up my mind...

Lot of stories here with pain and hurt and going through much and a book or two light reads(atleast compared to others)....what to choose what to choose....have read " weight of it all", "just a bit twisted","undercover boyfriend"and"return on investment"...all good read. I never thought i would understand the financial world or stories revolving around it but "return on investment" is one hell of a read....since i am going to rate on what i want to read most...will rate those books low points not because they are not good books but because i read them...

It's shame because everyone is talking about wolfsong and i heard it from Mochi too but since author is in no read list didn't get the chance to read that book but you enthusiastic book lovers are going to read both books so i am gunning for it too....

I have some bad news: I don't think I am going to be able to keep up with the reading club. I just graduated from college and I am in the process of getting my nursing licence and work and papers and documents and :Frustrated: and whatnot and it's been busy, busy work and its leaving me with 0 time to do...........anything basically.

I miss reading anything else other than medical records!! :Stomping:

So sadly....I don't think I am going to be able to be a member of the club anymore; at least not for the time being ):

I know this is not appropriate to post something like this here nor is it right! but we people of Bangladesh are in a desperate need for help..just need this news to be spread. The government has strictly forbidden our media to cover this and now attacking students, some are children of 13 to 16 age..boys are being beaten and killed and girls are being raped. We just want this news to spread so at least in the name of human rights violation we can get some international help. Already articles and videos are being blocked from social media by the government. I am sharing the e-mails we have been sending to international networks.

This is a desperate cry for help from Bangladesh.

The peaceful protests conducted by school students of Bangladesh to bring about reforms in road and transportation safety issues took a dark turn earlier today (4th August, 2018) when the ruling-party led student body called Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) attacked the students. The situation turned dire as many of the school students, unarmed, were beaten and sexually harassed by BCL men. Reportedly, four students have been killed so far with four more female students being raped. There are also rumours of female students who have gone missing or are kept hostage.

There is a media blackout and Bangladeshi media are not covering the news. International media is our one last ray of hope.

Please give the issue immediate coverage and help us create international pressure on the government.

thanks for your concern.I am okay because we are like locked inside our house..getting outside is too dangerous. I am in the critical area mirpur-14 so can't get outside. And Things are really bad and i have never felt so ashamed, useless and frustrated before. Girls of 13 to 20 are being raped and thrown into lakes. just yesterday 7 bodies were found in Dhanmondi Lake and many female and male students are missing. The people who were rescued can't get medical treatment because the government has given notice to all hospital not to provide medical service to the victims and the one hospital that helped at first, the doctors and nurses there were threatened. The family of the raped and injured are threatened to not post anything in media. No matter how much we tag and post in social media our news, videos and photo evidence are being filtered and network is being blocked. Please help. All we wanted was a reformation of traffic rules and punishment of those criminals of hit and run but how it came to be girls being raped and boys being killed no one knows. And now its being used as a dirty politics scheme by the government and the opposing party. And now a drama is going on. A huge number of school uniforms were bought and now the BCL goons and boys from slums are putting on these uniforms and wrecking havoc to present a false scenario that "the students brought unrest because of provocation from the opposing party" The truth is being buried. The police are with the government and BCL. Media is blocked.Please HELP.

Thanks for your concern. I am fine. And you are right Racheal. Everything is muddled. The truth is mixed with too many things. But things are happening. From yesterday all private universities were under attack. Even my university. Tear gas was thrown and there are Police along with BCL in the Mohakhali, Bashundhara, Rampura area. People who went to the university today were trapped in the cafeteria, they couldn't go outside. If they see more than 2 people together they attack. its like the 144 rule is imposed again like 1952. A few students from my university are missing. The main issue was road safety but now somehow it became so messy with things unrelated to it, it feels like they are distracting us from the main issue and avoiding responsibility. And the things that are happening now, these attacks on students there is no logical reason and whose agenda is this and who is attacking and the actual events that really took place all are mixed together. We are so frustrated.

Hi guys,

I am so sorry ..I am really behind schedule this month. There are couple changings this month.

First is the reward, some of you may already know about the reward points for our book club. I did talk to Key and he agreed to reward book club members 500 points / month for participating in discussion and 5000 extra for members who participate every months, 12 months/ year. and for members who participated in every single processes, suggestion vote .. all 12 months starting next January, on top of 11,000 points you will get, you will get one more special present from me. In December for Christmas you can request 1 book that will be guaranteed uploading ;D

For this year, you all will receive points for every months you have participated since June, and for the 5000 extra points, I will count from next month..so for this year, you guys will get 5000 extra points for participated in the last 4 months of this year. Good deal? ;D

Next is our normal book club business...

I did accidentally delete the whole folder of audio books. I do have like 80 GB something ..I know.. I know .. have to be this months T T I tried to get them back, but it was rewrote already. I try to think of the way but cannot find solution, so this month we will switched and do Author theme instead, and we will do Audio book next month. Sorry for anyone who are waiting for audio book month.
