Just superb! Loved that interpretation. ;P Starting to like it. I am just not used to that kind of short stories. It somehow feels like the author ripped some pages off just to finish the story. You know like something is missing here, I just can't point it out what exactly. Maybe I've read too many novels. XD

thank you, glad you liked the interpretation....i also concur that point...the story lacks something....like hurriedly finished....left lot to interpret....seems vague....

for example should have shown importance about the brother's death so we could guess its importance in him processing things slowly...though its complete feels like it lags something....dont worry by the end of series it will round-up although if one is used to novels this might feel like it lacks....

...

good day

i think your reasoning about why henry seems like being so 'dense' in the early book 1 is correct. i didn't have the idea to relate that w the history he had before huhuuu that was good! good job :D

____

& for the 'missing part/stories' or too short, well guys, i don' think i want more flashbacks than what i had now. it might helps but it might not. the author did mentioned about how he didn't plan to have a continuation from book 1, that he intended to left it like that (imagine if he left it only 1 book eeee) so, this might be the reasons why the story felt missing something or hurried. but i think the author did a pretty good job by twisting this story where earlier our MC was just an ordinary guy who working w numbers/sales into something related to mystery/bad guys/guns/actions etc. i actually didn't see that coming lol

Sooooo. I know I commented as soon as I saw the link for the book (and I actually downloaded it too) but I had a hard time getting on with the first chapters. I'm so confused. And then, I decided to drop-by here and looked for spoilers (i love spoilers \o/) and now I'm intrigued. I'll try to read it patiently now. Thank you guys! :Excited:

I'm halfway into the second book and nope.. still no giddying Shaun feelings.. he is a good friend, I get it but he is just a bit artificial maybe? Maybe that's because he's trying too hard to cover that he is making eyes at Henry, and maybe he is not that successful at all ?!

And Henry, mister, how can you not notice that your best friend got the hots for you.. oh man..

Anyway, the mystery side is going good for now..

sorry, guys, that was a crazy busy couple of weeks, but I am back now ;)

aaand, yeah, I finished the series yesterday. That was good and emotional and addictive reading. And

Shaun, hon, I am so happy and so proud of you. I was suspicious of you in the beginning, but really you are amazing friend. I have that nagging feeling that the author in the end decided to reward all good guys, so there would be a BIG and a little unrealistic HEA, but I am not complaining, I just happy for you (and Dev and Trev - that was cute XD)

That wasn't like a really mystery-mystery. I mean, compairing with other mysteries when you don't know the culprit till the end, but I suppose it's totally fine, considering that the author didn't want to continue the series after the first part. In the end that was a mystery but the third part was more badass-action-kind of story. At least for me.

thanks:D....yeah the one thing i couldnt predict in that book was that....becoming what he is in third part...wow if he left that book with that cliff hanger....god i can't imagine that horror.....yeah i remember author saying he want to left the story as is but continue on readers request....bless his kind heart...he did mention this book will be bittersweet for him....

i can see why you say no giddying Shaun feelings and i have a theory...if you may

***plzzzzzz*I do recommend to read this spoiler after finishing the series....****

We people accept the existence of magic, centaurs, demigods, aliens and alternate dimensions than we can believe in the existence of people with certain character traits.....Shaun's feeling may seem artificial because the way he was mentioned, instead of words if the author could show more of his feelings then he wont seem so artificial but we can't point at author for lot reasons 1.he didnt want to continue the book 2.this book is bittersweet for him

Shaun character is also hard to empathize with because of the lack of his POV and the confused state Henry's been with(his lack of mentioning Shaun)....and i do believe it can be oblivious to Henry because he has no reason to look at Shaun that way, he had a perfect life untill then and Seemingly Shaun even if bit of a playboy had a good life.....Shaun is successful in hiding his feelings untill at that fateful night, we being the observer, can see everyone and understand Shaun's eyes at Henry but Henry who has been through lot didn't process it and before that he didn't have to...Shaun will only be able to move on if he doesn't hold the torch for his bestfriend, which i think happened now...okay i will stop here, otherwise i will finish with the series.

P.s sorry for mentioning this(if it feels ridiculous) but it felt so appropriate ---> **We people accept the existence of magic, centaurs, demigods, aliens and alternate dimensions than we can believe in the existence of people with certain character traits...**

I am reading the second book now..at the scene where Henry is confused about Tom's phone call..I am doubting Shaun right now..(managing to restrain myself not to read spoilers) Lets see how this goes..i will be finished by tomorrow with this series and be back to discuss..

Okay.so i finished reading this series..i am changing my opinion..Shaun is a great friend..

And i didn't think the ending would be this sweet before the third book..I would have liked the third book being a little longer..things happened too quick

Did you guys notice that both the first and second book book could have ended as finished without the epilogue..its like the epilogue was what let the story continue..like the first could have ended like Henry accepting his husband's death and facing reality and the second one could have ended with Henry being with Shaun after healing from grieve..as a new beginning

But i am glad it didn't..all those flashbacks and talks of their 21 years of being together don't deserve anything less than happy and sweet..

Ahah many of you are already finished and I'm just now reading book one:D:D Hope to catch up to you all over the weekend!

I definitely like it so far, I like the writing style, even if i'm not usually a fan of already-established couples:D

Oh my God it's SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!! why didn't I read it earlier??? I'm loving loving loving it and hate that I keep getting distracted..

Anyway, I'm in the beginning, chapter 4, book 1

possible spoiler for the series, but it's probably not - just my theory xD

Upd: confirmed, definite spoiler for the rest of the series xD

I'm SO SURE that it's actually one of those "unreliable narrator" type of books.. I mean, the way Shaun reacts to things make me think that Tom has probably died or disappeared a long time ago or something & that our MC might be mentally ill or is dealing with trauma in this weird way.

Either way, I'm pretty sure we can't trust our MC'& that Tom has disappeared a long time ago

I'm so convinced I'm right, it would be funny if i'm proven wrong in the next chapter. Anyway, DAMN, it's good!! Great suggestion,

no worries..After you start book 3 you will be able to predict the plot and mystery and suspense will be replaced by action and normal plot progression rushing to an ending..

Though i wish rather than jumping out like that the plot could have been more descriptive..it felt too quick..

yeah..that was smart writing..He could have continued the book or not just by adding or not adding the epilogue..i will take it as a writing tip

Thanks for your explanations, my friend :) I finished the series, and I am now too alright with Shaun!! :D

I guess I was fearing he would come between Henry and Tom, to me it seemed from the start that we would have Tom back. So, Shaun being the best potential threat to the union, I just couldn't like him plus the suspicious behaviours. When

wrote there will be 3P, I was fearing that it would be Henry, Tom and Shaun. But Thank God. Now that he settled with his own boys, I made peace with him :D I have to agree that he is a really really good best friend, though!

thanks for the series! I have to admit that I liked the 3rd book better, and I'd like it a lot more if these three were combined into single book with the fluff of first book pruned :D **such a spoilsport**

Well, there was bunch of action here these days, I just finished catching up with your posts.

Shaun def have a fun club now I see

And I would love to read a book about him and his boys, polysome with that three characters got to be sweet read (I actually searched for it just in case :) ). I really couldn't see him with Henry.

And I'm too of opinion that 'something is missing here'

, and it 'looks like hurriedly finished'

To me, it feels like this is part of another serie or better yet a spinoff, because sometimes it's like he expect from us to know more just from the hints he throw at us.

For example dead brother, 'Hank' once mentioned nickname, their parents, adoption... Spinoff or 1.5 of something.

But nevertheless, I liked it :D

i'm not too fond of poly relationship (i'm a faithful monogamous guy lol) surprisingly, i think i don't mind to read books about shaun & the boys. maybe i need a little warm up like this before to get used w the 'feeling' ;D

now that you mentioned thar....it makes sense....good job.... And yeah shaun

I mean there is way too much distance between them (SHAUN AND HENRY,when you remember the book after a week)....in romantic way....and its like you care so much for someone it starts to look like love(well its love but not romantic kind though)...if they had a chance to be together it may feel one sided....and its more for comfort than anything else and thats not fair to shaun.....
