Okayy! I finished reading all three yesterday and wanted to post my reaction/thoughts about the books. I knew that I'd read them extremely quickly without stopping so I put it off until a couple days ago to start so I wouldn't spoil everyone ;p

So, when I first started reading the beginning chapters of the first book I was like 'wtf is happening here??' Unfortunately I didn't get it until they spelled it out lol. Shaun was so nice and supportive and Henry is a little bit stupid. I mean, I don't know how I'd react to my partner of 20 years dying but I'm not so sure that level of delusion is a common reaction.

 

The second book was pretty good. Honestly, they could have matched Tom's dental records at the end of it and had him get together with Shaun and that would've been fine with me. I'm not sad that they didn't but its another possibility I would have been cool with.

 

The third book though... I didn't like it as much as the second. Shaun gets together with Dev and Trevor. Which I thought was a little strange. They're still waiting to find out if Tom is alive or not and he supposedly wants Henry if Tom is dead, but on Christmas he plans a threesome with them?? He didn't go through with it, but it still was a little weird to me. And then there's what actually happened to Tom. I don't have a problem with that he was kept prisoner, but I think its a bit overdone with the whole Christian extremist cult group thing. I would have been much more happy with a different motivation like money or revenge.

 

 

Overall I was very pleased with the books though! They were a pretty good read and I enjoyed trying to figure it out a lot.

seconded about the extremist. i didn't see that coming to be honest. bc i thought there's no way the author gonna do the mother-in-law being evil to that extend. it felt like movie-ish plot. i don't even know what i said lol also. agree again w shaun & his boys. i still remembered that one scene him & henry where he said henry will become his once they confirmed about tom. so yeah kinda a bit rushed but not impossible to happened

i agree with some. i really enjoyed book 1 and 2 (3 not so much because it seems predictable), i really thought Henry has a permanent memory loss and going thru the Memento routine thing. but after knowing the truth, it was.. meh. is it weird that i felt sorry for that stalker kid? his character seems far less menacing to be the reason behind everything. i kinda hoped it was actually Shaun who did it lol.. i thought it'll be more interesting to the story. but he's a cool guy. and i can't imagine pining over your best friend for 20 (ish?) years...

 

 

thanks again for voting this book. it is something new for me. i shamelessly admit i usually look for bl novels with lots of smexy times and hot guys only but i really have a good time reading this

In the action sequence of the rescue I was at the 'edge of my seat'. Shaun was the greatest BFF,

Henry and Tom made the cutest couple! I hope to read a spin off with the triad SDT.
