JenovaVII
I am really picky when it comes to shota, both concerning the art and the story in itself. It's not one of my fetishes so I don't read it often but occasionally it doesn't hurt. Saigo No Sangatsu, by Tsukumo Gou One of the rare shota titles I really enjoyed reading, so much that I read it again from time to time. Don't expect cutesy art and big eyed boys who look like girls with an extra here, Tsukumo's (gorgeous)art and plot line takes a more realistic approach than most mangakas and that's what makes it stand out, at least for me. Totally recommended. (: Imadoki No Shishunki, by Monchi Kaori Porn with plot, and good plot, at that. There's yummy rape, too. And I like Kaori. Furimuku Dake De Anata Tsumi Na Otoko, by Kotobuki Tarako This one... I'm not going to lie, I have a feeling the only reason I like this one is because I love Kotobuki like mad and I probably (most likely) wouldn't waste a second on it if it weren't for that. Koibito Wa Suiito Rabi by Miroku Kotoko Cute and surprisingly forceful ukes, yay. (-_-) At first glance it's not my thing at all but I took a liking to the art...
yojichan
I'm not much of a shota fan. Like you I am very picky as well. But going through this list you gave.. I must say Imadoki no Shishunki was incredible! I love the pacing. I like how each of the characters struggled and how they transformed from their past to their present. We also get to see from each of their perspective. The guilt, the confusion, the tension, the release... It was quite an unexpectedly good story. I like that it kept me on the edge bracing myself for a tragedy to happen. Koibito wa Suuito has very, very cute and smooth artwork. I like the right balance of the stories They were fun and cute and almost adorable without the creepy factor which is usually very, very common in most shota manga. I like how cunning the uke characters are and they seem to know what they want. I like the fact they're strong willed. And I now I realize I much, much prefer bunny ears than cat ears.
yojichan
Here it's a list of shotacon manga... D Dear. Gentle Papa OMG!!! Ok...I'm a big fan of Yamato Nase's work and this is the first time I'm reading this. Oh wow... I was a little worried because it had the cheesiest title ever and yes I admit it that it might creep me out. I'm not really a fan of needy clingy ukes and in a shota environment just doesn't jell for me. But THIS I did not expect at all. The story was really good. Really engaging and it does not feel like shota at all because the relationship was more focused on the dynamics between Nao's father Ichii and Oka. From the very beginning, it totally got me hooked all the way till the end. I could not stop reading. it's so good. It had the right amount of drama and humor, excitement and just enough to make you freak out It's so good...OMG! Just wow. I really enjoyed reading it. Really loved it. I guess if there was one thing I would have wanted to see is how Nao and Kyoutaro's relationship will be. It started all creepy at first but oh man.... Kyoutaro REALLY loves Nao and the patience he has to wait for him until they can finally, FINALLY take their relationship to the next level of intimacy. Everything about this manga is just superb. Highly recommended. What cracked me up was when Kyoutaro accused Nao's mysterious stalker as having a shota complex. bwahahahahahahaha!!! LOOK WHO'S TALKING? This manga could have gone on to the most ridiculous cheese ever but no.. It did not go in that direction at all. It tickles me that they make lots of references to BL manga or soap opera I love the fact that even the characters themselves were not trying to be cheesy. I love it. I really love the story and the characters and everything about it.
yojichan
oh my gosh.. here i am again...LOL i might end up reviewing all of the shota manga listed. T__T but not really....*peace sign* i browsed a bit and decided to skip A to C like i said i'm not a shota fan but i am a fan of really good stories which is why i am gonna recommend Etowa. this did not strike me as shotacon manga but more like master x human replica ♥ the manga had a very good pacing and it stayed very focused. there is a good story for this. i love the way how things progressed for them. the characterization. it wasn't cheesy at all. it was about making a relationship work for someone who needed it. for someone to grow and realize that such feelings do exist inside when properly encouraged. Etowa is not a story about the goal of having smex with young boys. the fact that the creator himself was vehemently opposed to that made the story very compelling as it pointed out issues and complications it can affect society. it really focused on nurturing a loving relationship and i think that is a beautiful thing. this isn't a cutesy manga. it's a very sensitive one actually. there was one scene there about an Etowa's memory loss that really pinched my heart. I cried. It was so touching. The lines really got me. It's really good. A definite must-read. now i'm currently reading Kitsune no Tama Yobai ♥ (chapter 7 done ~ ♥) i'm definitely going alphabetical. yosh!
yojichan
myuuuu~~~ i hope someone else posts here too. i don't wanna be monopolizing this thread. T___T i've just finished reading Kitsune no Tama Yobai all the way till chapter 14. for a shota manga to hold my attention like this then it must be real good, ne? the thing is it wasn't the shota element that got my attention. it was the story. i am a big fan of Asian mythology, legends and fantasy stories. This manga had that along with the right amount of drama and conflict. Shuro (the fox spirit) and Yazu (the human) are not shota characters. It is THEIR story and how they came to find each other that made me swoon. It was a beautiful love story with a nice historical period fiction backdrop and the right amount of mythical fantasy. The artwork fits the mood of the story entirely. It not only shows romance but the trials and tribulations of discrimination. there is a lesson to be learned here. One can't help but wish them all the best and find happiness in each other forever. Both of them have been through so much and they're both strong individuals. That's one of the things that impressed me so much about their story. As it progresses, we are introduced to Shuro's half brother the sweet and verbally-challenged yet ostracized Shiro Shiro IS the shota of the manga. And how Kuroha (crow spirit) and Shiro became a couple. I was more drawn to Shiro's backstory and how Shuro saved him from a life of imprisonment thus making Shiro very close to the older Shuro. My only peeve is that towards the end of the manga, it got sidetracked and focused more and more on Shiro's cuteness and awkward discoveries. A lot of potential could have been done to improve the character than merely keeping it like the resident cuteness in the manga which killed it. Therefore if you are looking for a romantic story amidst the backdrop of a mythological fantasy and period drama I totally recommend this for the sake of reading Shuro and Yazu. You will not be disappointed at all.
yojichan
ALRIGHTY... MAJOR SKIPPAGE! And read Oujisama no Kiss by one of my most fave mangaka CJ Michalski. I'm a big fan of her artwork. This oneshot manga has a nice balance of drama, impending tragedy and undying love. what I like about this is that there is no awkwardness between them. No specific seme/uke roles established. They really started off as good friends Yet the separation between them was bittersweet. There is a happy ending to this and as a oneshot. A very good read. Very likeable characters.

yojichan
will, yojichan your a shota expert so it's okay to monopolize the thread (you rule) ahahahha! you think so highly of me..i'm not expert. i just like good stories. but thanks so much. *hugs* since i'm so picky about the stories...i had to skip again a few more titles and ended up reading Tenshi no Heart Rhythm by Sakura Ashika as some of you may already Sakura Ashika is behind the delicious Sensitive Pornograph manga I unexpectedly read Tenshi no Heart Rhythm several times in a row. If you are in the mood for sensual uke characters who are well meaning and sweet then this manga could be the one for you If you like gentle seme characters then you will most likely enjoy this one. The conflicts are very light and easily managed by lots of intimacy, sweetness and gentle passion All the pairs are clearly very much in love with each other It does not feel like shotacon though, it didn't seem like it was emphasized even. No age gaps were mentioned. Next is Tsuki ni Ookami If you are into animorphism then you might find this manga cute beyond belief. The couples in the manga do not emphasize on shotacon, it looks like none of them are Perhaps the only reason it was categorized as such is that there are underage side characters who play siblings of either of the couples mentioned There is very light drama Even the intimate scenes were well played and not vulgar at all The seme and uke roles are very clearly defined If you are in the mood for some fantasy setting with a period feel and cute animorphic characters then this might be for you Okay I guess that's about all that I can read from the list and I can recommend. Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for reading. Thanks for sharing.

CapturingDarkness
Does anyone know of shota, but the uke doesn't look alot like a girl? Boku no pico, I know is shotacon but it made me feel sick, because the ukes were way too girly and the other guy was a disgusting pervert. So, any suggestions? I don't know another method other than asking so, sorry if I'm annoying D:
