Kuro-sama
That's a good question. First of all it bothers me when relationship starts with rape! I mean seriously, how can you fall in love with someone who raped you?! That's really annoying. What also bothers me is when 2 characters have problem in their relationship and then seme gets all upset and becomes an asshole towards uke. By that I mean that they are all rough and even hurt them physically! And of course we all know how annoying denial is so there is no need to say much about that. What also bothers me is when seme acts like he doesn't give a shit about the uke! For example, when uke gets close to some other guy but they are just friends and seme is like "Oh, I'm totally jealous but I'm never gonna show it to him! Instead I will start acting like an asshole and make him cry." That's basically how it works in those situations and it's really annoying me! So that is pretty much what bothers me about yaoi but still, I can't stop loving it and never will.

itsapanda16
I hate it when they go straight to saying the 'I love yous,' I prefer a slow romance. I also hate it when anime adaptations of the manga counterpart leave out certain things, or being fast paced, or adding unnecessary (additional) scenes. obu
my biggest issue with BL is noncon/dubcon. i complain about it all the time but eh, it's not gonna stop people from enjoying it and drawing more of it. (you shouldn't think noncon is cool though, like at all, because it's not) a minor problem i have is the amount of time it takes a character to confess when they already know the other one is gay and interested in them LIKE WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF? so basically, i don't like scaredy cat characters lmao
Virdian*
● Bad endings! Nuff said. ● Cliched yaoi, when literally every girl is around the seme, ugh. ● Rape/Violence, no love relationship has ever been built up by rape. ● Stubborn ukes. And I really mean stubborn, not shy or anything. ● Censorship
Kookiebish
I'm new to yaoi, but I can list a few things that I've noticed that make me either roll my eyes or avoid all together. Also sometimes cringe in fear. For one, the rape. So much rape. Whether it's a romance novel/taming of the shrew type thing or an all out rape/rape. I could do without. I have yet to read a yaoi with all out consensual sex. whether it be from the main characters or a background character. It's not something that I avoid because it's unavoidable. I always find it hotter when the Uke is totally on board with sex. Anything with kids I just avoid so I can't say much on that. If they look like a child, I just move on. I get a little freaked out when it's a teacher/student relationship too. Heavy bondage stuff does nothing for me. If a ball gag is introduced, I'm usually horrified. When I first tried to read Finder, I was really turned off by the first scene. I'm now giving that one another try and I'm loving it. All characters being gay and a wishy washy uke usually gets an eye roll from me, but I can deal. The jealousy thing I can do without. Sometimes they go overboard and it starts to look like a bad/possessive abusive relationship. Also, sometimes love triangles stress me out. I've just started noticing the bad music in some of the older anime yaois. Makes me laugh.
lightg2
Because the genre has such established tropes (the girly uke and the jealous seme for example) I really appreciate mangaka who step outside such tropes and really use the genre to establish a story that couldn't be told with heterosexual romance. Rehashes of the same thing aren't welcome. Although I like established roles (uke/seme), I appreciate couples that are reversible too. Honestly, uke rape is something that has been explained and justified to me over and over again but I'm not buying it. I'm definitely okay with it as yaoi is fantasy, but I think rape is overused and a way to avoid ACTUAL ROMANTIC DEVELOPMENT (Whoa. What is that?! Actual romantic development she says?) In other words, it's a cop out used so we can get straight to the sex. I think the tropes so overused in yaoi (girly virginal younger uke, strong older experienced seme, rape, and above all shojo sparkles and flowers) are okay at first. But after reading the same thing over and over again, I find myself wanting something deeper and more meaningful. Then again, maybe I'm expecting too much. alexia__
Mhhhh lets see. Denial really gets to me cheetah15 I guess at first its okay, but after you been with the same person (please stop denying). Another one is rushed relationships :_red_fox 10 its a bit unrealistic I mean the one night stand thing is okay, but if you're aiming for normal meeting then please don't rush right into the sexy parts. A really annoying one is a 3rd party. This really annoys me (like Hatori and Chiaki) :Red_fox5: I like their story but with this Yuu guy in the middle it gets really damn annoying :_red_fox 5 (SO i completely disliked this story in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi)

.Shuu.
I fucking hate it when everyone assumes that the shorter party is always the 'uke'. I hardly ever see a short 'seme' and it pisses me off, because I fall right into that category. I'm only 160cm tall, but I'm about as seme as one can get. Even if the shorter person has the potential to kick the living shit out of the taller person, they're still condemned to the bottom of the relationship, and made to look painfully 'tsundere'. It's a pretty shitty assumption to make if you ask me. Sorry about my potty mouth, too, guys. I'm just very passionate about this subject in particular. username01
What i hate the most is when the uke is just to girl, at firs it can be cute but then it's really starting to get on my nerves The perfect example is okane ga nai its actually the gether of all the anoying things the cruel seme inhuman difrents in body art of the uke and the seme. the uke is practically a sex slave, and the seme explain it as love??? 😨 And of corse the constant rap, and the denial uke really this manga just win its all 😧 But for some reason,I keep on reading the manga

I have a crush for smaller and younger Semes, the bigger the difference the better. But I guess what bothers me more is the assumption of Seme=dominant, Uke=submissive. Relationship should be based on equality, though some dominance in bed is good.

NatsuPantsu
3 things that tick me are when one of the party says 'but i am man' like they never ever heard about sex between men. Second, overly feminine ukes to the point i think they're a flat chested woman and third, big WALL OF CENSORSHIP!...one horizontal line will do but not 6 or 7 of them
