The heart of the ocean (closed 18+ )

Adrian was being a nerd again, more fascinated by mentally recording the mating behaviors in his head to document later instead of actually trying to get in on the action. When Yukie came over though he hugged the creature softly again and stroked his scales.

 

Ayme was downright pissed that his beautiful display was being ignored for some dull human who couldn't do anything right!

Puffing himself up he watched from a distance, too proud to chase after Yukie now

Yukie was busy poking and prodding at Adrian unsure why he didn't want to mate. Yukie with a quick puff of his fins tried to get his attention or atleast a mating dance out if the other before leaving and showing off his fins to Ayme. Not sure why Adrian didn't want to be with him the male quite confused and staying by Adrian as if scared by the humans sudden dislike of him.

Adrian got a bit flustered by Yukie's intrusion, he didn't understand why the other was touching him weird. Clearly the creature was starting to see him as a mate, but was he even ready for that kind of commitment?!?! He loved Yukie more than anything, but it was still something he had never thought could happen. He was afraid of hurting the other more than anything was why he never took things any further than this.

 

Ayme had planned to ignore Yukie for the rest of the day for insulting him, but when the other displayed his fins well he just couldn't help but swim back over to show off his own pretty colors. Stupid Adrian... Why did Yukie even like him so much?

Yukie finding Adrian didn't want him huffed and nuzzled Ayme the male wanting to apologize for being so concerned over another mate. Yukie nuzzling and staying close to Ayme offered his neck for the other to bit and mate him if he wanted the male not wanting to be rejected by another potential life partner and mate since Yukie had been trying to see if the two would display a mAting pecking order.

Ayme bit Yukie with an unusual aggression. Maybe he was still a little pissed over being ignored at first, or maybe just having another male nearby was making him act more possessive to prove that he was the only one who deserved Yukie, who would claim him the hardest.

He hissed at Adrian one last time for good measure before mounting his mate swiftly, almost desperately.

Yukie squirmed a little at the bite knowing all to well he had angered his dominate alpha mate. Feeling the other wanting to claim him Yukie blushed and looked away from Adrian not liking the human watching their mAting ritual as he hid his body a little behind Ayme submitting fully to his mates wishes. With a slightly nervous hand he gently touched Ayme's chest his body shaking a little since he was quite nervous to be mated since him and Ayme had never mated and Yukie had only mated with the other open ocean fish from months ago.

Adrian was already hurrying to document this rarely ever seen moment of courtship and mating between the rare species of mermen, so of course he had to film this... for science, obviously. Nothing weird, or anything like that...

It was a good thing he was the only here or it would have been obvious how uncomfortable this was. Why was it arousing to watch them? Adrian cursed himself mentally for being so low... But for science.

 

Ayme stopped when he felt the other shrinking behind him, it wasn't that he didn't like it. But sensing that Yukie didn't like having Adrian nearby made the creature hiss aggressively at the human. His fins flared up to make himself appear bigger, more threatening as he defended his mating right to Yukie, now that Adrian was even challenging it. But that's all that Ayme could see.

Yukie gently snuggled into Ayme his body staying close to his mate as if he was trying to comfort him. With a gentle hand Yukie tried to get Adrian's attention back to him not wanting to be abandoned by another mate since Yukie was wounded and needed a strong mate to hunt and care for him and their offspring.

Ayme turned back to Yukie and his display instantly changed from aggression back into seduction. Dancing around the water and brushing up against him, as if hoping to mate.

Yukie surprised by the sudden change accepted Ayme's beautiful dance and playfully teased and wanted him to chase and play a little. Yukie having felt that his lover had somewhat forgiven him for leaving for Adrian.

Ayme didn't seem to mind and gave into the other's game, swimming around after Yukie. In a way it was like flirting, or maybe just foreplay.

Yukie Eventually stopped swimming away and went back to Ayme. With a small smile he kissed Ayme and did a slight dominating mating dance not being willing to give Ayme his way so easily. With a small brush of his fins he pushed some rocks wanting Ayme to build them a new nest for their own future.

Ayme locked his hands with Yukie's and danced with him, trying to gain the upper hand through showing off his own agility and strength. But he seeing as his mate wanted a nest it did seem right they should build one first before doing anything else so the mermen set about to finding the best stones in the tank and arranging them meticulously into a perfect love nest.

Yukie watched Ayme build their new nest the male quite happy with the work and wrapping his body around Ayme once he was done. The younger male nuzzled and licked at Ayme's face clearly pleased with how well he was courting him. With a flare of his fins Yukie smirked and looked at Ayme playfully dancing for him in quite the seductive way.

Ayme hissed softly when he felt something moving through the water, it was just Adrian but he still wasn't very pleased about having another male in his territory, he went to confront the man who made the mistake of not posturing complete submission so it forced Ayme to attack to show his dominance over Yukie.

Yukie watching Adrian slowly lowered himself to the ocean floor as if showing Adrian how to be more submissive looking for his mate Yukie not wanting the person who fed them and their child to die.

Ayme seemed to determined to get rid of his competition for good, trying to drown Adrian as painfully as possible, dragging him around and biting at his clothing, thankfully the biologist was able to catch what Yukie was trying to show him and instead of struggling or making an escape he lowered himself against the pebbles, but was it too late to sate Ayme's aggression?

Yukie swimming over gently grabbed Ayme. "He won't fight you...he's acting more submissive then usual besides...cherry likes him" Yukie admitted not wanting to see Ayme fight with a man he still cared for.

"You like him?"

 

Ayme asked, a part of him was still feeling territorial. But if he hurt Adrian and that made Yukie upset then he would feel guilty. He didn't want his mate to be upset. And the man was their source of food and care, killing him would be kind of a waste since he was still useful to them.

The merman's piercing gaze landed back down on Adrian who was pressed against the rocks, about half way on his oxygen levels, if he was pinned for a couple minutes longer could mean drowning. But the mermen wasn't quite finished in teaching the man a lesson in how their hierarchy worked.

His hands still gripped around the male's neck he hissed down at him, thrusting his body against his as if he were mating, but of course they weren't. He was just displaying his dominance over Adrian by pushing him down harshly against the rocks.

Once satisfied that the human knew his place and that Yukie was his first, he got off Adrian and let the marine trainer swim back up to the platform.

 

Ayme seemed a lot more content now that he had shown his mate that he would do anything to protect him, or maybe it was just to show Yukie that he was worthy of being the top male around here. Ayme hadn't survived this long letting humans get one over on him. Only Lucas had earned that right, Adrian would just have to settle for being low rank.

Speaking of Lucas, the male was away on a trip, but when he returned there was something Ayme wanted to show the man. Something even Yukie would have to wait to be second.

But for now he was perfectly happy to bump and nuzzling against the other merman's side as they swam around the tank. He had two mates after all, and courting Yukie was just as important.

Yukie was happy Ayme didn't kill Adrian the male gently snuggling into his alphas body in a way that showed he was rather thankful to him. Looking over at Adrian Yukie understood more so that Ayme was the alpha over all of them. He understood even more that if Yukie wanted to be with Adrian he had to acquire Ayme's permission to mate or be with him since Yukie was Ayme's first breeding mate as shown by how he had dominated Adrian in a way that was quite rare for outsiders to see. Settling down in a submissive way towards Ayme Yukie laid still in the rocks showing Ayme that he was being respectful of his leadership and was showing a slight underlying wish to continue to be close to him in more ways then one could imagine. Watching Adrian out of the corner of his eye Yukie was showing his newer mate how to be more submissive to their alpha and how to get him to be happy with the control he had over his lovers.

Ayme frilled out, seeming to give an approving nod at the new order that had been established in his artificial environment.

Adrian was once again accepted into their group, as was evident by the way the mermen swan around Yukie's child, herding him over to the marine biologist so that Adrian could be a babysitter while he bonded with Yukie.

To Ayme, he wasn't aware of the fact that Adrian was just a male, sometimes the way the other acted confused him. He seemed to be a caregiver, and with his clothes on he couldn't see any details so right now he was just going to assume that Adrian was more or less female, thus he should be good enough to look over Cheri. As he would never trust an unknown male with a child that wasn't his own, because it was all too common in nature that males would hurt offspring to make room for their own to replace them.

 

With one last glance at Adrian and Cheri, Ayme swam back towards Yukie, showing off his fins in a colorful display, almost like a dance. Once he felt that he had his mate's undivided attention he crawled over Yukie, nipping his neck as he gently thrusted against him. Ayme wasn't in heat, but he was just reminding his mate that he belonged to him.

Yukie blushed a little at the sudden attention the male liking that his alpha was wanting toto be around him so much. "Want to...go off and play?" Yukie asked wanting to slightly rekindle their romance between him and Ayme since they had never mated or really done anything of the sort. While Yukie was showing just a little shyness in front of Ayme he was wanting to explore their new home with Ayme even more so the male feeling more protected now that he had a mate to ward off any of the other mermaids that might want to forcibly display their own mating dances. Gently nipping back at Ayme playfully Yukie decided to be a little more bold and slipped out from his lovers body wanting to tease Ayme ever so slightly as the male swam off through a tube that was leading toward the beautiful coral reefs.

Cherry meanwhile was watching Adrian curiously the smaller mermaid snuggling close to him like one would do with its parents. Looking around at the cool nesting cave that they where in the smaller mermaid was wondering what they would do since parents where very active with their youngs learning and education.

Ayme would like to play alright. Anything to make his mate happy. He swam after Yukie, never letting the other stray too far from his side as he brushed against him, keeping an eye out for anything unexpected since this was still an artificial environment he wasn't used to. But then there was... coral!!!

Suddenly he was darting through the water and frilling out his fins. All the coral reefs in his ocean home had been destroyed by bleaching. He never thought he would see them again in their glory. His eyes scanned as the fish that lived in the coral weaved by. Most weren't good for eating, but they were beautiful. He took Yukie's hand and pulled him closer to see.

 

Adrian wasn't really sure what was going on, there was a still a lot he didn't understand about the mermen's behavior but he didn't mind getting to spend some quality time with their young. He knew this much, Ayme and Yukie were trusting him to take care of Cheri like his own. And he was going to be the best Dad but not Dad.

He gave the little one a quick cuddle, before letting him go so they could swim around. It started to make him wonder... maybe Cheri would be a good fit for trick training. He was still young and didn't seem to be against humans as bad as Ayme was.

Yukie watched the fish swimming around the corals the male quite amazed by the colors and beauty. Since Yukie had never traveled to the warmer nesting waters with his young he had never gotten to raise cherry in the warmer waters like he should have. Snuggling closer to his mate and hiding under his puffed out fins Yukie laid down in the soft sands enjoying the warmth and the peaceful waters. Yukie like Cheri had never gotten to spend his childhood in the warmer waters so for him this kind of paradise was warm and welcoming. Watching above the reefs Yukie watched as a gentle young whale shark swam above them enjoying the warm waters much like the two fish below him.

 

Gently looking at his mate Yukie reached up his hand grazing his new mates soft flesh as if asking him to settle down in the sand with him so they could cuddle.

Cherry giggling swam around his father in quite impressive circles the male being more carefree and not aware of danger since his imprinted father was watching him. Exploring the colder cave cherry swam around and his in the seaweed playing hide and seek with Adrian despite not knowing that he wouldn't ever be able to hide or blend in with his surroundings being as snow white as he was.

Ayme puffed up at the whale shark, following the creature around a bit aggressively to make sure it was nothing harmful. But since Yukie wasn't scared and seemed to like it he eventually settled back down and left the poor thing alone.

Ayme's logic when dealing with life seemed to be more like a 'attack first ask questions later' type of deal. It may have been tough, but that's how the merman had survived so long out in the open ocean against a variety of threats and changes.

Being captured by humans was nothing short of a miracle, considering how aggressive and allusive he was by nature.

He joined Yukie, lowering himself into the soft white sand and wiggling down to create a small nest.

 

 

Adrian had no trouble in playing along with the child. Even if he could spot him easily, he pretended that the other had successfully won the game. Only scooping up Cheri once he came out of hiding and praising him. Even if it was different from the norm, he liked the white coloration form that the boy and his 'mom' aka Yukie came in. Though he knew it meant that living in the wild would be harder for them, that's why they would be better off with him in captivity.
