Gladis
Hi there! I’m Lady of Cupcakes, and I recently came up with a plot I would like to try. ^^ If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Looking For: C2 My Preferred Role: C1 Genre: Historical, Drama, Romance Setting: 1950’s, Japan The year is 1950. Five years have passed since the end of WWII and Japan is still under the American occupation. The nation is only just beginning to scramble its way out of poverty and hunger, trying to adapt as it finds itself on the brink to an era of rapid economic growth and revitalization. It is in the midst of this chaos that our character’s paths cross for the first time, and not unlike a multitude of other stories – it all begins in a bar. C1 is a published novelist; not particularly famous or anything, but he makes enough of a decent living to support his simple lifestyle. Every once in a while he will visit one of the local bars and treat himself to a drink, sipping it quietly in his usual corner as he ponders his current project. It is during one of these nights that he has an unfortunate encounter with some of the American soldiers stationed in Yokohama. Upon seeing them harass one of the waitresses, he politely asks them to back off. They respond with violence, intent on beating the living hell out of C1, when their commanding officer, C2 shows up and tells them off. He apologizes for his subordinate’s bad manners and takes C1 to see a doctor. During their short time together the two quickly take a liking to one another, and as C2 escorts C1 back to his home he insists that C1 join him for dinner sometime. C1 takes him up on the offer, and one thing quickly leads to another. Yet their relationship ends up being rather short lived. Not longer after their encounter C2 learns that he is to join the American front on the Korean peninsula, where war is currently raging. So they break things off, convinced that they will never see one another again. Years pass and they both move on with their lives. C1 becomes an acclaimed author and as the Korean war comes to an end, C2 returns to the US. Everything is fine until on one fateful day, their paths cross yet again... A Few Pointers: - For this specific plot I’m looking for someone to play top or switch. - Please note that nothing is set in stone. I would love to hear any ideas and suggestions you might have, so that we can flesh out my idea together. I want us both to be satisfied with what we’re getting into. - I may be a history buff, but I’m not exactly an expert on the 1950’s in Japan. I might get certain details wrong and it’s okay if you do too. All I ask is that you use common sense (don’t suddenly have your character whip out a phone and text someone) and at least try to do a little research on the topic. Google is your friend! (Or at least that’s what they want you to believe...) - Please be patient. Sometimes I will be fast with replies – sometimes I will be really, really slow. It all depends on how much I have on my plate. Occasionally I burn out and poof for a few weeks, but I will make sure to always keep you informed you about it. All I ask is that you do the same. And should I forget, please don’t hesitate to nudge me. - If you have a problem with anything I’ve written or you’re having trouble replying, please don’t hesitate to tell me. I won’t get mad. On the contrary –I think it’s far worse when people just abandon you without even having the decency of telling you why. After all, it’s difficult to improve when you don’t know what you’re doing wrong. If you’re having trouble and you tell me, at least we can try to work things out. And if you want to quit the RP entirely that’s fine too, but at least let me know. - It would be nice if you’re alright with playing several characters, so that we eventually can expand the cast and our character’s world. - I expect you to have decent grammar and spelling. Making mistakes is fine – I make a lot of them, but I still want to be able to read and understand what you write. - No one liners, please. - That said, I tend to prefer quality over quantity, so don’t make your posts long just for the sake of making them long. Ask yourself if the post you just wrote actually adds anything to what’s going on and moves things forward. If the answer is no, you might as well only have written a one liner, because that’s how useful it will be to me. I’d rather have shorter posts that actually make a difference, than longer posts that do nothing. - Don’t be a passive player. Role Playing is a team effort, so if I have to drag you around on a leash all the time I might as well just write a story by myself. Contribute with ideas. Don’t just leave all the work to me. It’s frustrating and I will most certainly end up dropping the Role Play if you do this. - If you want to know more about me as a role player, feel free to check out my old partner search Please Register/ Sign In, in order to see the links. . My Character (If you’re interested) Thank you for taking a look at my request. I look forward to hearing from you~ Best Regards, Lady of Cupcakes
