Sora shivered and pulled his knees up to his chest when Yukie moved off him. What little warmth he had left seemed to escape him as he sat there shivering constantly. "Y-y-you don't seem very d-deadly to me." His teeth chattered as he spoke. He knew that he should go change his cloths, but he was too stubborn to leave. Slowly his eyes started to close as he rested his head on his knees.

"..one would think that but you fail to realize during this whole time I took all your warmth." Yukie added watching Sora shiver the poor male looking quite miserable. "My, at this rate you won't be around me much longer" Yukie whispered before moving back to Sora and changing forms the demon looking at Sora before gently touching his face. "I hope you don't mind me touching you" Yukie whispered the long white haired male nude as reached down and easily picked Sora up. "...I can't just let my mate freeze to death" Yukie grumbled carefully moving down the tank and off towards the bathroom so he could toss Sora into a hot bath.

M-m-mate....? I am your m-master and you are m-my pet. Don't go getting ahead of yourself." Sora protested. "Where are you taking me? I didn't say you could get out of the tank." He said with a small frown. "You have to get my permission first." Even though he said that, he didn't try to pull away from Yukie. It felt kind of nice being held in his arms. Soon his eyes began to close again as he rested his head against the others chest, listening to the sound of his heartbeat.

"My such a demanding young master~" Yukie teased with a smirk as he opened the bathroom door and started running a nice warm bath with one hand while holding Sora in his other arm with ease. "Now then should I undress you or can you do that yourself?" Yukie asked his own hair dripping down and leaving some water on the floor while he looked at Sora gently setting him on the edge of the tub how own body not shy with being 100% naked.

Once sitting on the edge of the tub, Sora's face was positioned right in front of Yuki's nether region. Suddenly his cheeks got their color back as he blushed deeply and looked away, too shy to look at him. "I..." he gulped. "I can handle... it myself. You can go back to the tank now." He would be too embarrassed to undress in front of the other male. One hand went up to hold the top of his button down shirt as if he was trying to protect himself from being stripped by Yukie.

"Such a cold hearted master sending me back to the cold water alone" Yukie replied with a sigh before walking back to the tank. Yukie knew his body was quite nice to admire since he was quite active he had a nice amount of muscle mass. Smirking Yukie turned off the lights in the bedroom as he easily went back into the water and laid back down on the sea floor quite happy with the darker environment.

Sora stripped and sunk into the warm bath water. A happy sigh escaped his lips. He realized he had been foolish by not going to warm up when he felt cold in the beginning. However he couldn't deny that he got to see something good.

 

As he soaked in the warm water, he couldn't help but think about Yukie's body and the fact that he had called him his mate. Normally if anyone had said something such as that he would have hated it, but hearing it from him actually sounded quite nice. Though he wouldn't admit it.

Yukie waited boredom slowly creeping in for the poor male. Watching out of the tank Yukie paced slowly swimming back and forth while he waited for his master to come back. Eventually Yukie decided to lay down the poor fish being exhausted and needing a quick power nap to recharge.

When Sora felt good and warm, he finally emerged from the tub. He took his time making sure to dry himself thoroughly so he wouldn't catch cold. Before he emerged from the bathroom, he wrapped himself in a large fluffy robe. "Haah that felt nice." he said to himself as he walked back to the bedroom.

 

He turned the light on and saw Yukie sleeping in the tank so he felt confident enough to change in front of him. He walked over to his closet and dropped his robe before dressing himself in pajamas. After all he wasn't planning on leaving the house anymore today. He might as well get comfortable.

Yukie mumbled tierdly from the bright light his body puffing up in sudden defense. Annoyed the poor fish went off to the small den he had claimed much earlier his body squeezing inside the tiny rock with only his tail left out to cover the entrance to block out light.

Sora heard the doorbell ring and he went to get it, leaving the light on. When he came back a few minutes later, he had the sardines he ordered for Yukie. He hummed happily as he climbed the stairs and dumped the fish into the tank. When he came back down the stairs, he noticed the mermaid had gone in the tiny cave. "Your food is here." He told him and was about to knock on the glass when he remembered that it hurt him the last time. He didn't wish to hurt him so he stopped short. "Oh well.. I guess he'll eat later." he sighed and went to sit in his chair, reading a book while he waited for him to wake.

Yukie puffed up and poked his head out a little watching the sardines slowly swim around the tank. With a small swish of his tail Yukie continued to slowly stalk the small group of sardines. With another puff of his body Yukie's spikes where fully equipped to kill the spines dripping a toxic substance that would hurt most humans but instantly kill other creatures. Watching his food closely Yukie suddenly pounced his body sparking with electricity and with the sudden brightness the tank was left a bloody mess Yukie once again in his little den eating in peace.

Sora noticed movement out the corner of his eye and looked up from his book. With horror he watched the whole scene take place. A hand flew to his mouth to keep himself from throwing up the contents of his stomach. Seeing the bloody mess was just too much. It sent him running back to the bathroom where he stood over the sink in a hunched over position. He stared down into the sink with both hands clutching either side of it as he breathed deeply, trying to calm himself.

 

Finally he was able to calm himself enough to walk back into the other room, however his complexion didn't look so good. He was unable to look at the tank as he entered the room so he just went strait to bed, moving slowly as he went. Once in bed he pulled the covers up and over his head. Sleep he thought would do him some good right then. He heaved a big sigh as he sunk into the bed, hoping Yukie wouldn't try to talk to him again for the rest of the evening. He wasn't sure if he would even be able to look at him let alone talk to him.

Yukie continued to eat his meal and once finished went back to his cave the tank still slightly pink. Little did the fish know the filter most likely would solve that issue by the morning. Yukie of course was awake by morning the male swimming around his tank and rearranging the contents of his home. Yukie rather liked the plants and was careful when removing and placing them near his little rock hideaway. Squeezing back in Yukie began to push more rocks out from his hiding hole clearly attempting to make his home bigger for his body to sleep in.

 

After finishing the removal of rocks Yukie swam out with ease looking at his handiwork. Satisfied that his home was nice and tidy Yukie waited as patient as he could for his master to wake.

Sora woke to the rustling noises as Yuki moved the rocks around. He stayed completely still under the covers as he tried to think of what he should do. It was quite a scary thing he saw last night, a hunter stalking and killing it's prey. He knew it would happen when he put the sardines in the water, but he didn't think it would be so gruesome.

 

He couldn't possibly lay in bed forever so after a while, he slowly folded down the covers just enough to peek out and look around the room. The first thing he noticed was that the mermaid had completely rearranged the layout of the tank. The blood in the tank had long since been filtered out, but he couldn't stop thinking about it to the point where it made his stomach churn. He hated the sight of blood and just couldn't seem to get the image out of his mind.

 

Without saying a word to Yukie he swiftly moved from the bed and out into the hallway. He was having a hard time acting normal around him. Because of this, he stayed in the hallway pacing back and forth as he tried to calm his nerves. Nothing seemed to help get his mind off the scene he had watched last night.

Yukie waited, unsure what to do since he was once again left alone. With a sigh the male poked around the tank unsure weather he wanted to sleep or move everything all over and out it in a farther corner.

After a few minutes Sora returned to the room, but he still didn't speak to Yukie or even look at him. He was still in his pajamas so he walked over to his closet, pulling out a nice button down shirt and a pair of nice pants. He hesitated a moment before glancing at Yukie, still too shy to change in front of him, he went to the bathroom with the cloths.

 

He was surprised that the mermaid stayed in his tank. After all, it wasn't locked and he knew from last night that the other could shape shift to take on human form. Actually he was rather relieved that, Yukie didn't eave the tank to see him. He still wasn't ready to face him after last night.

Yukie watched Sora leave the male wondering why he wasn't coming near him. Looking around the room Yukie gently touched the glass feeling the cold smooth surface under his fingertips. Yukie didn't understand why he was being ignored since he didn't know Sora had seen him hunt last night. With a defeated sigh Yukie went back to his nest and curled up inside feeling quite neglected and lonely since he did want to please his young master. Having been told to not leave the tank without permission Yukie was horribly bored and under stimulated by his environment since he couldn't even touch the pretty fish.

Sora finally got up the courage to confront him and walked back into the room, but when he saw the tank, he became a bit hesitant once again. He stopped a few feet away from the tank. "Y-Yukie I need to talk to you. Last... Last night I watched as you... you..." He fidgeted nervously, staring down at the floor. "When you were... when you ate it was really scary. M-my point is, I don't want to give you anymore live fish."

 

He gulped, knowing Yukie had told him only to give him live fish or else he wouldn't eat. He didn't want to starve him, but he also couldn't stand seeing that again. "If you agree to this, then I will let you come and go freely from your tank. You can even eat in the dining room with me so... so won't you please give it a try?" For the first time since he started talking, he managed to take his eyes off the floor and look up at the tank. He looked quite nervous as he waited for a reply which he was sure wouldn't be good.

"...you went suppose to see me hunt..." Yukie mumbled from inside his home the male sulking over being avoided all morning. "Just defrost the fish first....the last guys couldn't do that much and the frozen fish made me sick" Yukie added moving more to hide into his den not wanting to look at his master the merman afraid he would only be seen as a monster now. "I won't eat the fish anymore if that's what you want...I can live off some plants or whatever makes you comfortable" Yukie added being weirdly submissive for the creature he was. With a small snuggle into his tail Yukie squeezed himself into a smaller ball liking the imitation of being close to another human being.

"If you prefer fish that's what I will get for you and I will always buy fresh so it won't be frozen. Ive eaten rew fish too... like sushi." Sora looked up and stepped up to the glass. "I was scared you would hate me if I told you that you couldn't have the live fish anymore. Will you please come out? I want to see you. I'm sorry for avoiding you earlier."

 

He pressed a hand up to the glass as he peered into the tank longingly. "I won't avoid you anymore so please don't hide from me."

"...I've only ever hunted for my food...I've always lived alone" Yukie mumbled slowly coming out his scales all scratched and missing in a few spots from hiding in the rough rock so many times. Despite Yukie's attempts to widen the home there was only so much he could do. Yukie despite the slight injuries kept going back to his nest feeling safe from prying eyes and the emptiness of the tank, that reminded him so much of his home. "I can try..." Yukie mumbled hiding more in the sand his body worn out and tiered from re arranging his tank since the act covered him in small scraps and some light bruising. "I don't want to leave just yet...I feel safer here" Yukie admitted not wanting to be surrounded by so many people after living alone for most of his life.

"You... don't feel safe around me?" Sora asked with a sullen expression. "Of course you wouldn't. You have no reason to trust me. After all you must hate humans and I am human." He paused a moment before speaking in a hushed tone. I... I will just leave you alone then. I'm sorry for bothering you."

 

He turned to leave the bedroom. Maybe if he got Yukie set up with a nicer tank along with the things he had requested, he would be happier and start to like him.

"I just met you...I don't really even know what you like...I feel safe with you, but it's hard having always lived alone having someone around is different in a good but terrifying way" Yukie admitted not wanting Sora to leave him alone again. "I don't want to be abandoned when you get bored of me" Yukie whispered terrified of being left alone in a tank to slowly go mad from the lack of stimulation or by being ignored.

Sora turned back around. "Who said anything about abandoning you? And I won't ever get bored. You are just too interesting. If I could I would stay in this room with you forever."

 

He walked back over to the tank. "Won't you please come out? It's only me here and I won't do anything you don't like. I will do whatever you want." He stared into the tank, really hoping he would show himself.
