An Ancient Feud (Private, 18+)

"You don't know what we have done because we haven't done anything." Kaine replied with his own growl and an irritated look crossing his face. It was followed by a dark laugh from Xavier when Adrian had addressed him this time, "You're kidding right?" Xavier asked highly amused, "You always were so hot headed, Adrian." The vampire added before he shook his head, smirking at the wolf who was clearly displeased. "My 'thing' as you so love to refer to him, hasn't done a thing to your son. He seems to be in one piece to me. Though... I will admit it's definitely not to the coven's satisfaction." The look he gave Kaine indicated that Tenmo shouldn't be in one piece. Kaine met the gaze, with a hard and defiant look himself. "Perhaps it's your son whose corrupted my vampire? Ever given that a thought?"

 

Kaine was stunned when Adrian moved towards him with his claws raised but he didn't run, didn't attempt to hide, instead his eyes had drifted shut and he had just kind of resigned himself to whatever was about to happen, to just happen. But it never did, he didn't feel him connect with him, instead a familiar scent filled the air, one that made the predator in him reawaken. His head snapped towards the source and landed on Tenmo's arm, coming to the realization that he had taken the blow from his father instead. His reaction was instant, pulling his shirt off he quickly shred some pieces off it before he was wrapping them around the gash on his handsome wolf's arm, wrapping it up the best he could while shooting his father dirty looks and fighting the predator inside him that was all to excited about that familiar and lovely scent.

 

As if that fight in itself wasn't hard enough Alise was in motion, because he was focused on Tenmo he hadn't caught it until she was already almost at the border. He moved instantly to stop her, not wanting her to get hurt or to do this. But it didn't seem like she was the only one who had decided to make their move, other members that Xavier had brought with him had lunged for the border when Adrian had made his move towards him. It hadn't mattered that Tenmo had defended him and taken the blow, they had taken it as a direct attack anyway and were responding accordingly. Kaine connect with Alise at the border the force sent them both tumbling on the werewolf side of the border. The force they had connected with was enough to stun Kaine for a moment as he laid there looking up at the night sky before he was finally able to blink. Alise was a foot from him finally seeming to come to her own senses as he was getting to his feet. It did nothing to stop the other's though, he wasn't fast enough to stop them all.

 

Xavier seemed pleased by the reaction of his coven and was making his way back into the woods towards their home, "Finish them! Send those mutts back to their caves with their tails between their legs." The order rang through the trees as he disappeared and Kaine was only slightly aware of the order still a bit dazed despite being back on his feet. The others who hadn't seemed to have moved before that were definitely in motion now, all heading for the border at once. They didn't have the numbers, this was just a small group compared to the numbers back in the house, the numbers hidden away behind the coven's walls. But to Kaine, that just made it more apparent that this was more of a suicide mission, the beginning of so much more.

“Get back here and fight cowardly leech...! THAT CORRUPTED MY SON!”Adrian jumped after him, unable to reach him with the amount of vampires coming at him from the border. All the wolves started to attack once the vampires came after them, one by one most of them chanting into their wolf forms, ready to attack any vampire that got close to them.

Tenmo growled loudly but let the other bandage up his arm with his shirt. He did not even register the gash yet, in a fight response to the attacks that were coming on both sides. Tenmo swatted and snapped at any wolf that got close, in his wolf form with the shirt around his bandages furry leg. Vampire or Wolf, He snapped and bite hard at anyone who came near Kaine. He was in rage mode and did not care, no one was going to hurt Kaine. He had to protect Kaine...Protect...Protect.

The entire border line was covered with wolves attacking the vampires, Adrian leading the fight as he could not get to Xavier anymore.

Kaine turned towards Tenmo, he was as a wolf now and kept swatting and snapping at anyone that approached them, no matter what side they were from. He reached out resting his hand on the other's shoulder before he spoke the best he could over the sound of the fighting, "We either have to try to stop this or get out of here." He said to him. There was a lot going on, and Kaine didn't want Tenmo to get hurt any more than he already was, but they had to do something, it was run or try to stop this senseless fighting. After stopping Alise she had disappeared into the fray of fighting wolves and vampires, he had no idea where she had gone but he was certainly worried about her. This wouldn't end well, and Kaine would by lying to say he wasn't expecting the wolves to come out on top in this fight. But what did that mean for him? Tenmo couldn't protect him after all, well, not for very long anyway, and Kaine didn't want to hurt anyone or fight anyone. He didn't want things to be like this, didn't want anyone to get hurt. That didn't mean he didn't make sure he sent every vampire he could in a different direction whenever they got too close.

Tenmo could barely manage to keep a grip on himself, his rage an overpowering force and nearly clawed at the hand that touched him before he realized it was Kaine. His anger was barely controlled and t was only the others voice that kept him rooted in place. Stop fighting...how? They could not stop all the vampires on their own..but people would get hurt. People would...die. “How....?” He managed to ask while he growled between his teeth. Anyone that dared got close he swatted away with his claws. It was them two against pretty much their entire ‘families’. It was a full blown war out here..It didn’t seem logical to stop them fighting..If they can love each other...Can they get them to at least stop fighting? He was ready to bolt at the first second..

"I-I don't know. But there has to be a way." Kaine said not missing how Tenmo had almost snapped at him when he had reached for him. His eyes looking over the battle that was going around them, they had to do this, stop it somehow, there had to be a way. "There has to be something... anything that can get them to stop fighting." Glancing around them he tried to consider their options. "Is there a common enemy among us?" He was at a loss, this was more than he expected to handle. This was all one big nightmare and he was still worried about Tenmo. "Are you okay?" He asked trying to turn his full attention to him but he just couldn't. There was too much danger around them for him to take his eyes off their surroundings for more than a mere second.

Enemy...common enemy...Tenmo tried to think of any enemy that they had in common. Humans...were they really an enemy? It was hard to think straight when he was in full rage mood and the battle was waging on all around them. And he was a bit dizzy from the loss of blood coming out of his arm. He had no idea what to do...He had no idea...What to do..what to say...He just knew he needed to stop the fighting somehow. He messed into his bed and was quick to get the collar on him, even in wolf form.

 

“STOOOOOOOOP!” Tenmo growled at the top of his lungs, hoping to stop the fighting even for a second. Adrian was surprised at the others yelling and the collar, looking the other over with a hiss. He stood between him and another vampire, but blocking the other vampire he got a good claw mark to the chest from another wolf who was just as shocked at the others yell to stop fighting and didn’t stop in time. And the fact that he tried protecting a vampire. He stop with his arms spread and he was breathing heavily.

Kaine wasn't sure what Tenmo was doing when he had started to mess around in the bag he had been carrying, surprised when he returned and was getting the collar on. What surprised him the most was that he had managed to do so while in wolf form without asking for any help, but at the same time that collar standing out against his fur. It made a possessive look appear on Kaine's face and he let out a growl to show that possession when a vampire had gotten to close. A moment later Tenmo was yelling stop at the top of his lungs making even Kaine stop what he was doing, his eyes moved towards the others who all seemed to stop granted not all of them seemed to stop at once as they had all been in motion at the time.

 

Suddenly all seemed still, but Kaine's initial response to his wolf yelling out that word vanished and he was kneeling down beside his cute puppy. Another possessive sound coming out of him as he ran his fingers through the dark fur, sure, this display of affection probably wasn't helping but he couldn't help it. He was taking this chance to also inspect his leg better though and before anyone could say or do anything he was sitting down on the ground taking the leg up in his lap and was grabbing what remained of his shirt to do a better job of wrapping it up.

Tenmo was comforted for a bit by the stroking of his fur, now standing in his human form before his father. The gashes on his chest were far more prominent when not covered by all the chest fur. They took up a good portion of his chest. He breathed heavily at the injuries he sustained from his leg and chest and having yelled with all his light at the top of his lungs. No one really knew what to do at that point...He stood up to their alpha..his father...and protected some random vampire...? What just happened...?

 

Tenmo wasn’t feeling too good, him slowly crumbling to the ground. His leg was now in the others lap as Kaine was trying to bandage him up. “You...stopped me....” Adrian said quietly, bordering between confusion anger and many other emotions he could not explain. His son took two attacks, one from him, for vampires. He looked quietly toward the vampire that Tenmo stood in front of a moment ago in silent confusion, unsure of what to do. He looked between the vampire and the collar around Tenmos neck.

Kaine was whispering softly to Tenmo as he was tending to his leg, trying his best to get the bleeding to slow before he was gently setting that down and moving to tend to his chest now. He had shifted, so Tenmo could rest his head and torso in his lap, allowing him to work more effectively. Especially since his gaze ended up falling on Alise and he ordered her to give him her jacket which he quickly used to start to stem the flow there. "You know... you make a great hero." Kaine said softly as he brushed some hair out of Tenmo's face his burgundy eyes moving up to land on his puppy's father.

 

"All of this could have been avoided if you would have just listened to reason." Kaine stated his eyes watching Adrian with a narrowed almost accusing look. But he knew Adrian wasn't the only one responsible for this, so was Xavier, but he didn't know what to do. His gaze moved back down to Tenmo and he frowned as he watched his puppy, running his fingers over the collar and giving him a small smile he pulled the ring out of his shirt. "I love you, puppy." He murmured to Tenmo. "This is just the beginning though, only trouble lies ahead." This time his voice was loud and clear, trouble lied ahead and not just for them as a couple. But for both sides, vampires and werewolves alike. The treaty was broken, pretty much shattered, there was nothing keeping the peace.

Tenmo let out a weak laugh, looking up at the other from Kaines lap. “I am no hero..” He said with a small smile, staying still so the other could tend to his wounds. That and the pain was starting to set in as the adrenaline was finally starting to wear off.

Adrian stayed quiet, not saying anymore. He was unsure of what to do or even say. His son..was being handled by a vampire in such a gentle way. He stood in a vampires way so it wouldn’t get hurt..the world was upside down.

“I love you too Kaine..” Tenmo said softly, reaching out the ring and holding it gently in his hand in the air since it was attached to the chain. He knew things would be very difficult now..There was no easy times..

Adrian has no idea how to react to the vampire now pulling out a ring and saying he...he loved his son? What kind of madness was happening? Was this a dream? The other werewolves seemed as stunned as he was at the former and current turn of events.

"You are to me." Kaine mused with a small smile. Of course Tenmo wouldn't feel like he was, but that didn't mean he wasn't to him. If anything, his handsome puppy getting the fighting to stop made him the biggest hero ever. That was a feat in itself, one that deserved to be recognized. Hearing Tenmo say he loved him, made him extremely happy and his smile grew as he leaned forward a little as the other took the ring into his hand, holding it gently as they watched each other. For a moment he was still before he ignored the presence of everyone else and dipped his head down catching Tenmo's in a light loving kiss. "You need to go home, love. Get these wounds treated." He said softly, as much as he wanted to be with him, and to continue to hold him in his lap he knew Tenmo needed medical attention.

 

"I'll... try to see you as soon as I can." Kaine promised his handsome lover. "You'll always be my puppy. Just focus on getting better though." That was truly Kaine's only concern right now. The well being of his handsome wolf, Tenmo had to be okay, they had already defied to many odds for him not to be.

Tenmo couldn’t help his tail from wagging ever so lightly, even if he was slowly starting to feel even more pain. Tenmo happily missed the other in return, holding him close for a moment before he looked up to the other. He didn’t want to leave..He didn’t care about anyone else but Kaine right now. But he knew Kaine was right..He needed to get help for these wounds.

 

Adrian silently went over to Tenmo and Kaine, taking him by one arm and making another wolf grab his other arm to hold him up. “......Thank you” He said in between gritted teeth since that thing did wrap up his sons wounds. It still left a bad taste in his mouth and he hated the very idea of all this. But that was a discussion for another time, right now Tenmo needed treatment as he was quickly whisked away, Tenmos eyes never leaving Kaine until they were far gone

He was gently running his fingers through the other's hair as he watched him with a worried look on his face. Noticing Adrian coming towards them he stiffened a little but he knew it was for Tenmo, so he remained still watching his handsome wolf instead. Kaine let the wolves take his cute wolf from him hearing the thank you but he didn't really respond. Instead his only response was a small nod as he watched them leave. Once they were gone he looked down at himself, he had his handsome wolf's blood on his body and he had to get cleaned up. The vampires that remained were looking from each other to him and he knew he would have hell to pay when they returned. But that wasn't a big worry right now, his mind was still focused on Tenmo and he could only hope he'd heal alright.

 

Getting up he looked around to make sure no one on their side was severely injured. For the most part they seemed fine, so he got them gathered and started back towards the house. Tonight had been a major nightmare, anything and everything that could have gone wrong, did. When he got home he ran quickly up to his room and into the bathroom and got washed up. Cleaning the blood off his skin and changing knowing he had to speak with Xavier and figure out what his problem was with the wolves, as well as try to figure out what he was planning.

Adrian quickly went to a local hospital, ordering all others to return to the house. He took the wolf that was also holding Tenmo with him, agreeing to say it was some wild animal that attacked him. His injuries were too severe to treat on their own so he would need lots of stitches. The hospital took him in immediately and began cleaning him up and getting him ready for stitches. They told Adrian to go home, that it would be at least a week before he could go home and he would probably need help a lot once he got out. Adrian wanted to retort but the other wolf stopped him,guiding him out. He was still on fire from having jus foot out of battle.

Kaine knocked on the older vampire's door but unlike normal he did not wait to see if it was okay for him to come inside. Stepping in and shutting the door behind him he wasn't surprised to be met by the cold voice, "What are you doing here, Kaine? I didn't say you could come in." Kaine could truly care less if he was given permission, he could even care less if Xavier wanted him here. As far as he was concerned the vampire had probably thought or even hoped that he would have died in that fight.

 

"You and I both know that's not the point of this. You intentionally caused that fight, you encouraged it and would have sentenced all of them, if not most to death over... what?" Kaine said wanting to know what exactly Xavier was up too. It ended up in them talking back and forth for hours, even periods of yelling at each other. It appeared as though a war was something Xavier was completely happy with and truly wanted. In some ways it seemed as though the pack was just a pest, and that he just wanted the added territory taking them out would give. But he felt as though there was something deeper going on here, something that was truly pushing him to act in this manner. What is was Kaine couldn't quite put his finger on, but he would figure it out. After hours of this he left and returned to his room, needing some sleep and needing to think about his handsome wolf and what he must be facing.

Adrian kept getting calls from the hospital about needing to sedate his son over the course of the day, trying to pull out his plugs and something about a ‘Cane’ and missing ‘Cane’. He never commented on it but agreed to sedation as necessary for his son, hanging up the phone and sitting in his office. It was going to be a war..and he was not going to back down easily. That Kaine character..or Xavier. He had no intentions of losing this battle-or the war. He would not lose his territory to some vampire who charmed his son and Xavier.

Kaine didn't sleep that well, his mind kept going from Tenmo and how worried he was about him to Xavier and what little he had uncovered. When he woke up the next morning he was still exhausted as though he hadn't slept to begin with. Getting up he got ready to face the day, but things weren't as they normally were. There weren't the normal business meetings and handing the vast majority of the coven's income like normal. Instead it was a series of council meetings where they discussed what had taken place that night, he got a lot of accusing looks and it was clear that everyone knew what was going on between him and the Alpha's son which wasn't making matters any easier. In between those meetings it was preparing for the war to come, a war that Kaine was still trying to figure out how to avoid. As the sun set he knew there was no point to head for the border, Tenmo wouldn't be well enough to see him so soon. Instead he laid on his bed, turning the ring around in his hands and thinking about everything. Why couldn't they have just taken off and found somewhere to go together when they had the chance? Even if it was still quite unrealistic.

Tenmo laid in his bed heavily sedated, groaning that he could not move. His natural instincts were to see and protect Kaine, constantly trying to get his wires out and get out of this damn room. He hated being trapped in one place and he hated that he would not be able to see Kaine for what seemed like it would be forever. The longest they have gone without seeing each other probably since they first met all that time ago. He reached for his collar, holding it tightly in his hands before holding it close to him. His father was going to be ready to prepare for battle..a full blown war. There was no escaping this..He just wanted Kaine. And now there would be more fighting..Why was that vampire leader so determined to fight..yet flee? Why did he want to fight?

As the days passed Kaine was growing more anxious to see or even hear from Tenmo. There were nights he spent at the lake, the ring lately stayed on his finger, feeling that they were closer that way despite the physical distance between them. It also meant that he'd wander towards the border once in awhile. Despite how Adrian seemed to view him he loved the man's son and thus didn't want to see the pack get hurt. Knowing that they were Tenmo's family. There had to be a solution one that wouldn't end in mass death. Kaine contained to keep an eye on Xavier making sure he want ready to make his move yet.

Tenmo was eventually released from the hospital, his leg and chest heavily bandaged. He was sent home to rest, other wolves standing at his side so he could get to his room easier. Adrian was too busy planning things out, knowing full well there will be another fight soon. Tenmo waited until all was quiet later that night before sneaking out to go towards the border. He took the long way around, making sure not to move too quickly. He waited along the lining of the trees, hoping the other would be at the border tonight.

It had been another stressful day, Kaine's anxiety was getting worse with each night that passed without seeing Tenmo. Only made worse but the traitorous looks and whispered that followed him through the halls of his home. He still insistently saw Xavier every day and pestered the council member, trying to discover more, discover just what this war was really about. Knowing that it was in no way actually because of him, rather he was just an excuse. That night he really needed to see his wolf more than anything and so he made his way to border, stressed and just the tiniest bit hopeful that he'd actually get to see Tenmo tonight instead of the usual nothingness that had been greeting him lately.

Tenmo knew his father was prepared for an attack..or at least preparing to attack the vampires in return. What was the war about? Father never really said why they fought with each other, it was just a thing that was so normal he never questioned it before he met Kaine. Kaine...Please be here...It’s been a week or more, He thought as he waited at the border. He missed him terribly..

 

Kaine..He’s here...”Kaine..!” Tenmo said with bright eyes and a happily wagging tail. He did his best attempt to run to the border line with the amount of pain and stitches he had in his leg and chest. As soon as he got close enough, he took him into as tight of an embrace as his body would allow, nuzzling into his neck. “I missed you..” Tenmo said quietly, feeling overwhelmed at seeing him again.

Hearing his name from that familiar voice made his head snap up and land on Tenmo who was making his way towards him. His excitement to see his handsome puppy was certainly overwhelming and he was quick to move towards him as well. Arms wrapping around the other to return the hug, though he was careful to not use to much strength not wanting to hurt Tenmo. "I missed you too." Kaine whispered too happy to even budge from the spot. Kaine was content to remain just like that for the rest of his life.

Tenmo let himself be held in the others arms, just happy to be in the others warm embrace. His tail wagged crazily in the air, content to be in the others arms again. So warm..Tenmo thought as he smiled happily and not wanting to be let go. “Did you hear anything..? My father is ready for a fight..and it seems like they know each other..” Tenmo said quietly, giving the other a deep kiss. Even warmer and softer than he remembered them..

"Between their meetings and preparations it's hard not to hear anything " Kaine said with a soft sigh. Head not budging from where it was resting on Tenmo's shoulder. "I can't gather what their past is, but Xavier is definitely trying to hide something. I haven't heard when my coven intends to attack, it still seems like we have time to try to figure this all out before then." Kaine paused when he was given a deep kiss and it helped get his mind off the war that was waiting for them and focused back on Tenmo. "Are you okay? How are you feeling?" His worries and train of thought no longer cared or was focused on the war. Tenmo was his priority right now.
