An Ancient Feud (Private, 18+)

Kaine woke up not too long after Tenmo and was slowly working on waking Ren up as Ash was in the shower and Tenmo was downstairs making breakfast. The small boy was reluctant and had apparently been sleeping rather well since he had not even woken when Ash had been woken up to shower. "Good morning." Kaine greeted the sleepy child brushing his hair from the other's face and scooping him up into his arms. Carrying the small boy and a change of clothes for him into the bathroom attached to his and Tenmo's room he got the water nice and warm adding some bubbles to hopefully make it more relaxing. It took a lot of coaxing and even a little bit of a wrestle to get Ren into the tub but Kaine was firm and yet still gentle finally managing it and helping him get washed up while allowing Ren to play with a few toys he had thrown in there for him.

 

Ren had tried putting up a fight changing into a panther as the water touched his foot and squirming and struggling against Kaine's grip that never let him get away. When his lower half had been submerged he gave in to the bath at first sitting there pouting as a panther with big eyes hoping that Kaine would feel bad and let him out. When that didn't work and he saw the toys floating in the water he gave in changing back and playing with the toys while the vampire was running the sponge gently along his skin. Washing his hair was a completely different story and Ren was back to fighting tooth and nail not liking the water on his head. Kaine had remained patient the entire time and before long he was out of the tub and being dried off before getting dressed. Kaine had heard the arrival of their guests and was soon walking down the stairs hand holding Ren's the boy more than a little reluctant upon catching the scents and hearing the sounds of so many new people.

 

"Good morning." Bryan greeted when they had entered the house Otso had been a rambunctious and excited mess all morning bouncing around and talking about how happy he was to meet the new family members. Though Bryan loved how cute he was while behaving in such a manner it had caused him to get up far earlier than he had wanted. When one of the boys -Ash as he had introduced himself- had come down and gone straight to his Otso and kissed his hand his eyes narrowed a little but he did his best to keep himself cool and collected not wanting to cause any problems so instead he focused on Kaine as he was coming down the stairs with an even younger child this one clinging uncertainly to the vampire.

 

Xavier had been up for awhile and after helping Adrian and Solaria get ready was more than excited himself to meet their new family members never having thought Kaine of all people would end up with children. Well... maybe Bryan even less than that but it was still surprising. Ash seemed like a nice kid though he wasn't blind to how the boy gravitated instantly towards Otso. The younger boy though was just plain adorable and seemed quite shy. "Who would have thought a honeymoon would lead to our family growing not just by one but two?" Xavier mused with a friendly smile.

Ash smiled wide up at him as his heart thumped madly in his chest. He saw the glare and flicked one of his own, not liking how hostile he was to him. He turned his attention back to Otso with a friendly smile. "You look very nice today..You have nice birthing hips" He said with an innocent smile, knowing it was quite the compliment to show you were interested. Tenmo quickly swept in before things were going to get ugly. "Um Ash, people don't say those kinds of things here, it is...a bit much" He wasn't sure how to explain it but knew it was also getting used to the culture. He shot an apologetic look to Bryan before guiding Ash towards the table for food.

 

Otso blinked at what he just heard, not knowing what to make of the sudden...compliment? He made a few embarrassed sounds, not sure how to even address the man before Tenmo swooped in to save the day. He sighed in relief before he moved to set the fruits basket down at the table.

 

Solaria poked her head around Adrians legs when she saw the little boy her father mentioned. "Hello, My name is Solaria" She smiled happily and warmly, extending her hand out to the boy. "It is nice to meet you" She said with an equally friendly tone, Adrian smiling at the two boys. "Well well, they both look like two young strapping boys" Adrian grinned, trying not to snort in laughter at Ash's remark to Otso.

Bryan raised a surprised eyebrow when he heard what Ash said to Otso. He didn't even know how to respond to that and that was saying a lot considering how possessive he was of the other. It seemed he wasn't the only one his little wolf was also left speechless but Tenmo was quickly swooping in to save the day and was leading Ash to the table telling him that people didn't say things like that here. Bryan didn't understand where they would say anything like that to begin with and was starting to wonder just how remote this village had been. Shaking his head though he wrapped a possessive arm around Otso's shoulders after the little wolf had put the basket on the table. Trying to silently stake claim in a different way considering it apparently wasn't clear enough already.

 

Ren was nervous and clinging to Kaine even when he noticed the girl who was soon introducing herself to him. "I'm Ren." He said softly his voice shaking a little because of all the new people in the room. She seemed nice though and he was soon sizing her up and after a few minutes he decided she wasn't a threat to him and slowly moved from his spot to stand closer to her. She didn't seem to be much older than him and that helped ease his feelings a bit more.

 

Kaine was pleased and smiling at the pair before he was turning his attention to Adrian who was saying that they both looked liked two young strapping boys causing him to laugh softly. "I'm sure they'll fit in great too once they get to know everyone." Kaine said though he had been a bit nervous about Bryan for a minute especially when Ash had made such a bold comment. Xavier on the other hand was nothing but amused and had a hard time not showing it. "I must say I am surprised that you two leave on a honeymoon and come back with twice as many people as you left with. However, these two will make great additions to the family. I can see them fitting in perfectly already." He added himself agreeing that they were definitely going to fit in. Xavier was looking forward to seeing more of what Ash had in store considering how bold the boy was and he was looking forward to seeing little Ren come out of his shell more.

Tenmo got him to eat a piece of fruit to distract him before finally getting him upstairs to put his clothes on. He couldn't get Ash to button the buttons of his shirt but managed to get pants on and a fully open button up on him. He brought him back downstairs, noticing Ash's attentions were going back to Otso again. "I am supposed to apologize about what I said,and I am sorry. But I meant it..Your eyes look like tiny little pools of water" He smiled wide

 

Otso was still a bright red when the pair went upstairs, feeling the others protective arm around him, leaning into it. Th guy came back, looking even more half dressed than before. He started to connect some of the dots and realized...Oh....Oh my...He think Ash might be developing a crush on him.

 

"Hi Ren" Solaria smiled happily, trying to make sure she was staying as friendly as possible. He seemed really shy and she didn't want to scare her potential new friend. She went to grab a piece of fruit, breaking it in half before handing a bit to Ren. "Oranges are one of my favorites" She grinned as she ate her piece.

 

Adrian had to bite his lip as he was trying even harder not to laugh. Ash was quite the bold one, even if he had little clue of what was going on. He looked to Xavier before looking back at everything else, happy to see the little boy coming out from behind Kaine. A little shy one..How adorable!

While Tenmo was reigning in Ash and taking him back upstairs to get fully dressed Kaine was urging Ren to be more open and his normal energetic self. It took Solaria sharing the piece of fruit with him for Ren to finally decide that it was safe enough to leave Kaine's side and get to know the girl. This gave Kaine the opportunity to turn his attention to the very red Otso. "Sorry Ash is so bold, Otso." He apologized rubbing the back of his neck. He knew the boy had been craving a mate, one he couldn't have back in the village since they focused on reproduction. That hadn't prepared him for Ash being so bold not to mention seemingly getting an instant crush on the wolf.

 

Bryan huffed but had to admit there was some amusement to be found in the boldness. "I can't blame him. You're quite the catch." He teased Otso now that Ash was out of the room feeling the small wolf lean into him after he had wrapped a possessive arm around him. Ash was returning not long after and apologizing for being so bold only to add that he had meant it and give Otso a different compliment. Bryan had to admit that crushes could be cute. When they weren't aimed towards his boyfriend.

 

Ren was now happy and content to eat his piece of fruit and be close to Solaria who he was quickly growing to like. In fact he was more than willing to climb up into a chair at the table when Kaine suggested they sit down and eat making sure that his spot would mean he got to sit near Solaria so he could talk with her. Finding that he was actually enjoying her company more than he had expected and doing his best to mind his manners. Occasionally holding something up to her to ask what it was since he really had no idea.

 

Xavier hadn't been able to stop himself from laughing when Ash had been taken from the room by Tenmo to get dressed. "My, my. Leave it to you and Tenmo to find such a bold boy in the middle of the Amazon." He laughed. It was great really and he honestly loved it. Ash returning to give a different compliment and a half felt -or maybe completely empty- apology for his earlier comment doing so only because Tenmo had said it was necessary.

"T-That's fine.." Otso blushed with an awkward but flattered laugh. He felt the others possessive arm grow tighter and it didn't help his blush. The other came back down, looking like a model posing for a picture with his shirt open. Was Bryan...Was he...jealous? It was..cute and it was weird to be flirted with by someone other than Bryan. For Ash, he had some rather charming flirting lines. Even now he could feel Ash's eyes looking him over..

 

Solaria sat in a seat, happy to see Ren had decided to sit beside her. Ren seemed really friendly, answering all the questions Ren had despite some being odd ones. Ren didn't know things like she did and she wanted to be really helpful. She would do the same for Shi's kids when they were old enough to understand, "You're really nice" She said with a warm smile on her face.

 

"Ash..that's a little better I guess.." Tenmo picked his battles and figured complimenting someones eyes were better than how sexy him having good breeding hips were. It was also cute and wanted to at least encourage the compliments within reason. He knew and could see Bryan was getting possessive and wanted to see what would happen over however long this lasted. It seemed Adrian felt the same way as his father seemed to think the sight adorable as everyone was taking their seats. Tenmo brought out more food, setting it down in the middle of the table

Bryan definitely wasn't liking the boldness even if he could admire it to a point. Otso was his and that was very final. The little wolf belonged to him, at least that's how he saw it and Otso was always confirming it whenever he told the other he was his. At the same time he tried to rationalize that he had no competition. The other was young and though seemed to make his little wolf blush -which wasn't as hard as one might think- had nothing going for him. They had just met after all. That thought on his mind he was more willing to join everyone at the table making sure that he was sitting right beside Otso not wanting to let him out of his sight for a moment now.

 

Ren was doing his best not to make matters too strange but he was curious and she seemed to know these things better. After a bit he was sitting there happily eating another piece of fruit really liking sweet things when he heard her say that he was really nice. His green eyes darted from the plate in front of him to her and saw the warm smile on her face. This caused his cheeks to get a little rosy since he wasn't used to being complimented about anything other than maybe his hunting practice or ability to do normal things in the village. Not on how nice he was. "You're nice too." He said shyly feeling odd saying it. Feeling like she probably already knew that she was nice but wanting to voice it as a compliment in return.

 

Kaine gave Tenmo and amused look when his husband decided that wasn't a battle that was needed right now and was focusing on one thing at a time. It seemed the boys weren't the only ones who would need to adjust. They both had different things they had to face. Taking his seat at the table as the others finished joining them he was just glad to have the main family together.

Ash looked at Otso with a determined look in his eyes. Otso was his goal..He was going to woo Otso and he would make him his life mate! He looked at him with a soft smile, wondering if that television could help him learn more things to help woo Otso into being his mate. He was determined, Bryan was just a suitor in his way and he would figure out how to win his heart! Otsos attention were focused on the nice meal in front of him, rather enjoying the nice taste with food company.

 

“Aww thank you! Sweet as sugar to match all the sugars in desserts and fruit Daddy always says” She grinned, a little flushed in her cheeks that she made Ren blush. It was really cute and she wanted to keep helping him. “You’ll love ice cream one of these days!” She said with twinkles in her eyes looking at him.

 

Tenmo smiled softly, figuring he would need to talk to Ash later but figured the more innocent compliment could pass. He was being nice with the last one without being weird. He would figure it out..He thought as his father and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Bryan was paying more attention to Otso and the food than he was Ash at this point. Not focused on the smaller male figuring that he wasn't a threat. He already had his cute little wolf and didn't see any reason for that changing anytime soon or at all really. It was nice to have Tenmo and Kaine back home as well, something he never thought he would end up missing but not having the pair seemed quite odd these days.

 

Ren thought it was cute that Solaria ended up blushing as well and it made him feel better since his own cheeks had turned red. "What's ice cream?" Ren asked when she told him about it seeing the way her eyes twinkled making him want to know more about it. Xavier was talking with Adrian about numerous things but at one point he turned away from that to ask Tenmo and Kaine a question. "So... when are their birthdays?" He asked the two wondering if they were even aware or if that wasn't the day they'd be celebrating with the boys.

 

Kaine had been watching over Ren and Solaria making sure that Ren didn't get too rambunctious at the dinner table and that he wasn't getting too overwhelmed but he was glad that she seemed to know what to do to keep Ren smiling. Even if she had managed to make the small boy blush it seemed he was able to do the same in return. His attention was pulled from the pair to Xavier when he had asked about the boys birthdays and it made him stop to think for a moment trying to remember if they had even asked about them before.

Solaria still beamed happily when Ren question what ice cream was. “It has to be one of my favorite desserts!” She tried to stop blushing in embarrassment. “It’s made of sugar, ice and milk and sometimes a bunch of different flavors! You’d love it!” She said with an even bigger happy smile. “It’s not hard like an apple and melts in your mouth! Some people put a cherry on top, that’s another fruit that’s pretty small” She nodded softly

 

“It’s hard to keep track of the specific day as we don’t have a way to the specific dates. But I was born on a summers day in the middle of the hot season. Little Ren was born when the flowers started to blossom after the cold season about 10 years ago” Ash spoke up, not sure of a specific date in time, answering the older blood suckers question. “If you have a specific date around that time, you’d need to decide it” He nodded.

 

Tenmo looked to Kaine before Ash had a sweeter the question. They had a lot to learn..And did they even have birthdays? It seemed like they didn’t as they didn’t have a specific date of birth. “We will have to find a date around those times and that will be your birthday” He spoke with a soft smile

Listening as Solaria explained to him what ice cream was he nodded at the thought of it. It sounded good especially when she said that it could come in a bunch of different flavors. Ren definitely wanted to try ice cream and he'd be sure to ask for some another time. He was munching on his food when she said that it wasn't hard like an apple and melted in your mouth. It caused him to give her a curious look. "Sounds interesting." Ren replied knowing that he did like the sound of it. After that he busied himself with eating and talking to Solaria about a bunch of different things. When he was done eating he was quick to slip away from the table no longer interested in sitting at it and wanting to get down and explore the house more.

 

Kaine was glad that Ash had answered when their birthdays were, or well... around when they were. His gaze turning back to Tenmo who said that they would have to find a date around those times to celebrate their birthdays. "Agreed." Kaine said with a nod. Feeling that sitting down with the boys and discussing dates around that time of year to decide what day they'd celebrate their birthdays on was something that they'd do soon enough. Probably more so when they were comfortable and better adjusted to their surroundings.

 

"Sounds good." Xavier said as he turned back to the food taking a bite. Enjoying the company and getting to know the two boys better. This had been a good idea to have them all together over a meal that would make things more comfortable and relaxed for everyone. It seemed that everyone was getting along quite well now. No more hostilities or nervousness just the family hanging out together.

 

At some point a bored Ren had returned as a panther and was sitting under the table playfully batting at different feet trying to occupy himself like that. Kaine chuckling at how playful he was being now that he was comfortable with everyone tried to leave him be for the most part though at one point he did try to coax him out from under the table and encourage him to go play with Solaria. Reminding little Ren that she wasn't like them and he had to be gentle.

Solaria sat happily until she continued to eat her food until she was finished. She looked to Adrian when she finished so she could play with Ren. Once she was given permission to leave the table, she smiled at the panther underneath the table once Kaine was telling Ren to be gentle as she was a human even if she had wolf genes in her. “Woooow, so pretty!” Her eyes were like little saucers looking at the tiny panther form. It was nothing like Daddy’s or any of the other wolves. She reached out a hesitant hand, waiting for any sort of permission before petting him. “Beautiful!” She beamed in delight as she touched the ears and fur

 

“Be careful you too..Ash, He will be fine, Solaria is a lovely girl” Tenmo reassured him when he seemed tense but quickly relaxed. The dinner continued on until all the food had been eaten and everyone was just talking, dispersing and talking to one another along the room. Otso was talking to all the other adults and Ash soon approached Bryan while everyone was in conversation. “I am Ash..And I am challenging you to be Otsos life mate. I know you’re competing for him as well but I want him as my mate” He said determined to win him over and telling his competition to his face

Observant green eyes met Solaria's as she was looking under the table to him. Ren instantly puffed up proudly at being called pretty liking the compliment his tail flicking happily behind him. Her hand reaching out to him had him pulling away for a moment but she had paused as if waiting for his permission. It came when he pressed his head up into her hand rubbing it against her. Feeling her pet him before she was so happily touching his ears. His ears flicked and twitched beneath the touch but he was purring happily liking her company and the attention. There was definitely no doubt that Ren thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention especially as he soon slinked past her to head into the next room. Pausing for a moment to make sure Solaria was coming before continuing figuring they could play in the living room.

 

Bryan turned his attention to Ash as he approached him a curious brow raising at the other's words. "That's cute." He mused at the thought of Ash even thinking he had a chance with Otso. "You can challenge me all you want little guy. Otso's mine. I'm not competing for anything when he already belongs to me." He replied a dangerous purr escaping him when he declared so easily that Otso was his. "I'll tell you what though. You can run around and try to win him over because at the end of the day my little wolf always comes home." Bryan added. Bryan knew that no matter what Ash tried his cute little wolf would be coming back to him at the end of the day. So he'd allow Ash to play his little game and try to weasel his way in since he didn't feel all that threatened. Eventually the boy would get bored when he saw it wasn't going anywhere and find someone else.

Solaria giggled when Ren rubbed his tiny panther head against hers. It was much smaller than any of the others wolves and it had a nice texture to it. “Hey, wait for me!” She chuckled as she followed Ren into the living room. She went into the living room, smiling at him. “Did you want to play?” She said with a grin, wondering if they wanted to play or to talk. She would be happy with either option.

 

“It will not be a competition if you aren’t even competing for him. I will fight hntilt he very end for him..with all of me you would be the first to be weeded out back on my island. Otso is soft and kind, and has a blush rivaling the sweetest apple. I will make him even redder..” He said quietly to Bryan, ready to take the night howler that made his heart leap like the ocean waves

Ren thought about it for a moment when he was asked if he wanted to play. He did. That was clear but that wasn't what he was thinking about. Ren had no idea what sort of things they could play, not used to things here. "I wanna play." Ren replied as he sat down and just watched her. Tilting his head slightly to the side as though questioning her on what they could possibly play. Back home he would have just played as he was, jumping around, practice his pouncing and play wrestle. Those weren't things he could do with her though and he knew that. For one Kaine had informed him that despite the fact that her mother had been like Tenmo she was human. She couldn't handle him being his normally playful self and he had to remind himself to be careful to not hurt her. So he had no idea what they could do. It was so much different here.

 

Bryan snorted at the other's words. "You're pretty confident for not knowing the person you claim to want to win over." He replied watching the smaller man. It didn't bother him if Ash wanted to try to win Otso over, if the other wanted to try to compete for his little wolf. So sure he'd win regardless, not that there was anything to win. "Look, you're new to this place so I'll let you get away with this. But here we don't compete for people like that. If you want to try to win him fine. But there isn't anything for you to win." Bryan tried explaining it a different way. But he had a feeling no matter what he said that Ash would try anyway. Fine. He was more than capable of fending the boy off and protecting his wolf.

“We can play wrestle like I do with dad or maybe some hide and seek. You or I need to hide and the other comes and finds them! “I’ll go first, cover your eyes..and no peeking!” She added quickly before she ran off to look for a spot. She shimmed herself behind the couch, waiting for a moment before calling out to Ren. “Okay come find me!” She Called out, trying not to giggle. She loved having a friend her age to play with, wolf or otherwise. She just loved friends in general!

 

“I can win him over and that’s nothing I can’t figure out..What’s his favorite flower then if you know him so well? His favorite fruit? What does he like to do..?” He huffed, wondering if he could answer even basic questions. “I will make sure Otso is my mate..I will woo him over and take him from you” Ash said, having no plans to back down. He would find out all he could about Otso and take him from this...Bryan

Nodding Ren laid down and curled his tail around letting it cover his eyes though he added a paw for good measure to make sure he couldn't see where she was going to hide. When he heard her call out for him to come find her he was quick to get to his feet and start searching. All of the new scents in the air made it harder for him to concentrate on the one that he figured was hers. It didn't take him all that long before he found her hiding behind the couch and he was playful and gentle in pouncing at her gently tapping her with a paw. "Found you!" He said happily.

 

Bryan laughed as Ash seemed to only grow more determined to win Otso from him asking questions of him. Under any other circumstance he would have answered such questions but he wasn't about to be giving Ash any assistance by telling him about Otso. "Nice try, kid. You want to know the answers to those questions you get them from him yourself. No help." Bryan replied crossing his arms over his chest. His amusement was slowly diminishing though so he pat the other's head with a smirk on his face before he was heading off to his little wolf where Otso was talking with the others. Wrapping an arm around his waist and leaning down for a kiss that he knew the wolf never objected to. Even if it was just to kind of stake his claim a little it was also because after talking with Ash he really needed the kiss.

“I can find them out myself..Yiu don’t even know the answers...do you? Do you even know him? Do you even know his day of birth?? I could probably learn more about him than you and you’ve know him longer” He said with a smug smirk, going off to his room to explore it and make it more comfortable. He had to study Otso and learn more of this cultures romance. He had to win Otso from the night mosquito before it was too late. It seemed he knew little of him and he was ready!

 

Otso was talking to the others about his day and listening to Kaines and Tenmos honeymoon beyond bringing two children home. He noticed Bryan coming back over, giving him a happy grin and the other quickly pulling him into the kiss. He was getting more public with his attention with kisses today, that wasn’t like him but he didn’t mind. He blushed lightly as he gave him a kiss back, standing at the others side while he continued to listen about the exotic jungles

 

Solaria giggled when Ren pounced at her and touched her with his paw. “You’re good at this game! Okay okay your turn..we should probably only stay in here or your room so we don’t get in trouble. Okay, I will cove my eyes and count to 20 before I find you!” She smiled, covering her eyes with both hands

Kaine was glad that they got to tell the others about their honeymoon and everything they had seen and done. It had been an amazing trip even if they didn't count Ren and Ash who had only seemed to make the trip even more worthwhile. He had noticed at some point during their talk that Bryan and Ash were talking and though he was a bit nervous about it he knew that they couldn't always step in. Ash had to learn to navigate this world and learn to get along with other people even those he may not see eye to eye with. So instead he just turned his attention back to the group and back to their conversation learning about what the others had also been up to while they had been away.

 

Ren listened and nodded as he was told that they should only hide in the living room or in his room to avoid getting into trouble. Watching as she covered his eyes he looked around trying to figure out if there was a good place to hide in the room that he thought would take her awhile to figure out. Deciding against it he was quick to dart up the stairs and into his room looking around before he was squeezing himself once more under his bed. He didn't think it was the best place to hide but being a panther at least made him small enough to scoot all the way back to the wall which he hoped would make him far less noticeable.

Ash figured out how to turn on the tv, experimenting with the contraptions buttons that looked similar to downstairs. He browsed all the strange sights until he came across one that seemed to exclaim it was a marathon of ‘classics’. He left it on, eyes glued to the screen as he studied with heavy interest. He had to learn how this culture won over its mates. A basket was not going to cut it here!

 

“Shis children are doing wonderful, did some work on his arm so he could move his hands a bit better to hold the children when they are born! The twins are going to be adorable! I can’t wait! You did say you didn’t want them coming while you weren’t here” Otso chuckled, happy to share the news with Kaine and Tenmo. “Yes, it appears Alise will be due any day now” Adrian commented, thinking of her petite size He still worried about half vampire half wolf children but hoped it would all be well..It would devastate them both if any were lost.

 

“18...19...20! Ready or not!” Solaria called putting happily, starting her search in the living room first. Hmmmm..not here..She thought as she looked in every corner. She moved up to the others bedroom, looking for any spot before she thought to check under the bed first. “Found you!” She laughed, crawling under the bed with him, even if it was a bit of a squeeze

"Yay!" Kaine said happily hearing that Alise hadn't given birth yet which made him super happy since he had practically demanded when they left that she could not give birth without him being here. Knowing that they could be coming any day now also made him excited, it seemed like no matter where they looked the family was getting bigger and it was definitely exciting. He wasn't all that worried or really worried about the fact that they'd be a hybrid. "I can't wait to see how cute they are going to be." Kaine said happily.

 

Ren was curled up tightly waiting for Solaria to find him. It did take her longer than it had taken him to find her but that was probably because she first had to figure out that he had not hid in the living room then come up here to check. When she did find him his ears perked up the best they could with the small space watching as she managed to crawl under the bed too despite the tight squeeze. He had to say that he was impressed. Being a panther allowed him to slip into tiny spaces quite easily but he knew humans didn't have such luck. A bright smile was on his face though when he lifted it just a tad finding that he liked this game. Shifting forward a little he nudged her with his nose in a playful manner.

“Maybe they will have cute little ears like Shis! Poor guy is stuck like glue to her 24/7 fretting over her like a typical nervous first time parent. But he is incredibly excited to be a father..in a Shi sort of way. Hardly lets anyone near her without getting mad” Otso chuckled with a laugh that sounded like little bells. “I cannot wait to see either!” Otso said gleefully which made Adrian and Tenmo chuckled. “You act more excited than Shi like you’re the one having the kids” Tenmo teased, ruffling his hair.

 

Solaria giggled when her nose was nudged, the wet feeling of the others nose tickling. “You’re funny and adorable! Everyone is going to love you” She smiled, nuzzling her nose against his. “Daddy told me about you, a tiny bit. I’m kind of like you, we have some stuff in common..” She said with a grin, hoping the dark of under the bed of hiding any blush or embarrassment or overjoyness she had in her face

It didn't surprise Kaine to hear how Shi was getting over Alise not wanting anyone to be near her. Figuring that this was probably a common response most if not all of the members of the pack would have towards their mate when they're pregnant. "We can't help that we actually show the excitement we're feeling while Shi continues to be all big and brooding." He laughed nudging his husband. Sure he and Otso were quite excited and seemed to be more so than even Shi who was going to be a father. It was just because unlike Shi they actually showed that emotion. And in the end he was really excited!

 

Though he was surprised that hse nuzzled him back he didn't mind and after wiggling a little more he got comfortable beside her and listened as she talked about how she had been told about him. His head tilting slightly in question. Mainly because she told him that they had some stuff in common. "What'd he tell you?" Ren asked curiously wanting to know how much about him she seemed to know. Despite it being dark under the bed he was able to see the color in her cheeks but he didn't comment especially since it was only because of his heightened sight that he could.

“The fact he is being this adorably cute being all protective is adorable for Shi. Keeps resting her head on his belly or holding her ring hand. I’ve seen smile smiling at her so warmly when he thinks I’m not looking but I see it!” Otso chuckled, loving how adorable it was just thinking about it. “But Kaine, Tenmo, how are the boys adjusting since before we got here? Hopefully they are doing all right? Ren though seems to get along with Solaria so that is wonderful!” Otso said gleefully

 

“I lost my parents too...” She said quietly, resting her head on Rens shoulder. It’s been awhile since she thought about it but hoped by talking about it, maybe Ren would feel comfortable with knowing someone knew how they felt by experiencing it. “My mama and Daddy died to..not too long ago, maybe not even a year yet..” She said quietly as she looked up towards the barely visible color of Rens eyes. “Daddy Adrian and Dad Xavier took care of me after that and they loved me lots and lots”

Kaine loved hearing how cute Shi was being when he thought no one was around to see and how he kept Alise close. "It sounds so cute..." Kaine said with a sigh wishing he could see it but knowing that it would do good to give Shi the space. He wasn't as close to the other wolf as Otso was and he didn't want to press any buttons or give Shi a reason not to like him. "They're adjusting pretty well. It's still a lot for them to take in, so much is different here." Kaine admitted thinking about the boys. "Ren definitely isn't easy to get in the tub either. Think he genuinely has a fear of water. At least he didn't use claws when he was trying to fight me on it." Kaine added with a nervous little laugh and rubbing the back of his neck. "It is wonderful that they are getting along so well! Ren could use the friend and I am sure it will be good for Solaria as well having a friend here her own age." He added with a bright smile.

 

Ren tensed at the mention of her having lost her parents but he slowly relaxed beside her again watching as she tried to look up into his eyes. "I'm sorry... it's not easy." Ren said softly knowing how much it hurt to lose ones parents and she was right. This was something in common that they both felt and could understand. Hearing that Adrian and Xavier took care of her since then and loved her lots made him think of how Ash had taken care of him. "Ash took care of me after my parents died... until now." Even though Ash was still here to take care of him he knew that most of his care now fell in the hands of Kaine and Tenmo. Though they both clearly cared about him it was strange and he wasn't sure how to handle this yet. It was the first time he had a full family with two parental figures in awhile. And he gets to keep Ash! It really did seem like a dream come true but he still wasn't sure what to make of it all.
