An Ancient Feud (Private, 18+)

“Yes but not this close on a frequent basis. Last thing I want is someone to get hurt...” Tenmo said before watching Ren get distracted by the kitten and purring happily. “He is making it really hard to not get a kitten and I didn’t even grow up with one..” He said quietly, seeing how happy Otsos kitten made his son. He couldn’t bear the thought of seeing him sad when he would go. Please Ren and Ash, be very responsible so he had ‘no choice’ but to adopt a kitten

Ren was happy to forget about not being big enough to hunt alone with the kitten. It was easy to get distracted and just enjoy the small animal. As the kitten curled up with him he carefully rested a paw over it. Kaine smiled at the two before turning his gaze to Tenmo. "You'll have to sneak the little thing out when it cord time for her to leave. He'll throw a fit for sure." He mused.

“I know..He is also aware it will only be for the weekend” Tenmo said softly but he knew the little ones heart would ache. “Ren, why don’t you clean out the kitties litter box? I’ll show you how, if you ever want a kitten of your own you wiall need to learn these things” He smiled softly, getting the tea ah bag so he didn’t have to walk with it all the way to the kitchen. He started explaining how to scoop it out to throw it away

"True. That won't necessarily make her leaving easier though." Kaine admitted. Sure Ren knew the kitten was only here for the weekend but he was already really attached to her. Ren raised his head when he was told about cleaning the litter box getting carefully not to disturb the kitten too much and changing back. Walking over and kneeling down beside the box taking the scooper and listening as he was told what to do. As he was scooping the box the kitten had come over to investigate and at one point had climbed into the box and was digging around again. Ren trying to shoo her out so he could finish just for the kitten to continue jumping back in when he was busy scooping.

“Little one, you see making a mess. We can’t leave it in there” Tenmo chuckled, Ash coming over in his panther form. He picked up the small kitten by the scruff in a gentle manner, the kitten seeming to relax as he walked it to another part of the room. He curled around it to keep it in one spot, being reminded of how small Ren once was and still is, growing more attached to the kitten himself. “Ash is getting attached now...” Tenmo whispered to Kaine when they finally finished cleaning the box out. Poor boys..they both might be sad now.

"Why does she go in a box?" Ren asked not understanding why the kitten was expected -and knew- to go in the box. It was confusing to him. He was glad when Ash came over and got the kitten keeping it occupied while he was cleaning the box. If didn't take him long to finish once she was no longer getting in the way. "It was only a matter of time before he got attached to her too." Kaine admitted looking to Ash who was curled up around the kitten. When Ren had finished and thrown out the bag he went and joined the pair. Curling up next to Ash and resting his head on him with a pleased huff.

“That’s where cats go here, they have a designated spot like how we have the toilet. Cats just sort of know to go there or are taught at a very young age that this is where they go” Tenmo tried to explain in the easiest way he could explain. That was pretty much the gist of it from what he understood. He watched Ren soon join the other two, holding Kaine close. “Maybe I’ll consider a kitten after all...” He said very quietly, maybe if they do well with both, maybe a rabbit once everyone was properly settled for his darling if he could convince him when it was time

"We really should." Kaine added hearing his husband quietly say that maybe he'd consider a kitten after all. He felt like it was something they should really consider. Clearly Ren and Ash were both doing well with her and hadn't shown any signs of hostility. Wrapping his arms around Tenmo and leaning up for a kiss he smiled brightly at his husband. "It may be nice to have one permanently in the house too." He expressed.

“Maybe one day..that can be our outing. Go to the shelter, see how they do around other people and other animals. Make sure this isn’t a fluke and that they are serious. I’m sure they might like a place with a lot of cats. It will be a good outing for them regardless for socialization and ‘human’ behavior” Tenmo said, actually finding the idea not bad. Kill two birds with one stone

"It'd be good for them either way." Kaine replied. Resting his head on his husband's shoulder and watching the trio. He loved to see the boys getting along with the kitten and being truly relaxed and comfortable. It was still so different than what they had been used to that Kaine still worried about the pair. They seemed to be adjusting just fine but he knew it was still hard on them. Turning his attention from them to Tenmo he gave his husband a questioning look. "We know how the boys feel and all but what about you? Are you okay with having a small animal in the house?" Kaine asked. Wondering if it would be difficult with his husband's instincts to have a kitten or other small animal permanently.

“It is rather..strange” Tenmo said as he looked down at the small kitten with his boys. “I never was around them growing up so I couldn’t say how I would act around them full moon Tenmo. It is weird to be taking care of an animal so small and not trying to hunt it. It will be weird to be taking care of one but it is cute. I will need help the first time to make sure I don’t attack it. I’m worried I would try to hunt it out of instinct..” Tenmo voices his one worry

"Don't worry, puppy. I'll help you and make sure you don't attack it come full moon if we do get them one." Kaine promised. He'd make sure Tenmo didn't hurt the new member of the family if they decided to get the boys a kitten once this one went to her new permanent home. It was good that they wouldn't have her come the full moon so she really was safe. Kaine leaned up to give his husband a deep loving kiss, arms wrapped around his neck loosely. "I am sure the boys will keep you from harming it too." He added honestly. Feeling as though the full moon would just strengthen their bond with a kitten.

“I know they would..they are attached to Otsos kitten on the first day. Perhaps the common species in a way helps facilitate the bond. At least they can understand on the full moon we act different and I’m sure they would protect the little one from me. I would t judge them at all” Tenmo smiled softly, Ash protective over the pair. “Come on boys, let’s not sleep on the floor. Let’s go to your rooms. I’m sure Otsos kitten will follow if she likes” He smiled, not a sting then to catch a cold

Ren glanced up after Tenmo said they shouldn't sleep on the floor and they needed to go to their rooms. He pouted hearing that Otso's kitten would follow if she wanted. Wanting to sleep with the kitten, "Why can't we have a sleep over in the living room?" He asked not liking the idea of going up to his room. She was so tiny he was sure she'd never make her way up the stairs much less in bed with him or Ash.

Tenmo took a deep breath and sighed, it seeming that they would not be able to compromise on this one. “Only if you go to sleep, you cannot stay up all night” He said, Ash quickly farting up the stairs which woke up the small kitten. She wondered where the other went and Ash came back down with a handful of pillows and blankets. “That was fast..” Tenmo chuckled as Ash was already setting up the bedding on the floor, leaving and coming back with more pillows and blankets

Ren perked right up when they were told that they could sleep in the living room as long as they actually went to sleep. He didn't care that they couldn't stay up all night, he was ecstatic just to be able to remain downstairs where the kitten could easily reach them. Ash was darting upstairs and returning with pillows and blankets before he started to make a good soft place for them to sleep on the floor tonight. Ren gathered the little kitten and got comfortable as Ash returned with another batch of pillows and blankets. Once they were set Kaine smiled at the pair, "Remember, get some sleep boys." He reminded them. "Night Ren, Ash." Kaine said listing the top of each of their heads waiting for Tenmo to say goodnight before he was turning the lights off and heading upstairs himself.

“Night” Ash said, looking bashfully down at the blanket and quickly hid in it out of embarrassment. Tenmo couldn’t help but smile and his heart swelled that Ash was so accepting of them. He might just bawl the day he called either of them dad. He made his way up to the bedroom with Kaine, curling up beside him. “It is not many supplies so I should be able to move the car and the supplies in one go come early Monday morning. I can stash them in a side room until it is time to let her lose in the ballroom for the big moment” He said with an excited grin, knowing it would be hard not to spy in them during the big moment

Wrapping his arms around his husband he hummed happily being able to relax and cuddle. "Hopefully she won't give you a hard time and start crying. That'd definitely ruin the surprise." Kaine mused thinking about keeping the kitten hidden in a side room until it was her time to shine. "But you're right. I am sure you'd be able to get her and her stuff in one trip." He added with a nod. Knowing he'd be the one dealing with an upset Ren and possibly even Ash that morning. He'd be fine though and so would the boys. Even if it'd be rough at first.

“I promise darling..I’ll find a way to keep her quiet while they are eating their meal until I bring her in and while I am helping Bryan set up” He nodded as he held Kaine close. “I hope they won’t give you too hard of a time darling..even if they don’t lash out and are just sad. I am sure Otso will allow a visit after some alone time gushing with his future fianc?” Tenmo kissed his cheek warmly before closing his eyes.

 

The day eventually came and he made sure to wake up super early. He wanted to make sure he got into that side room before Otso or the boys would wake up. He kept giving the kitten treats to keep her quiet. He set her up with food and water on the floor of the coven house. Now, time to help set up! He thought as he waited for Bryan to show him what room the proposal would be held in

Bryan got up early to distract Otso with breakfast in bed before his boyfriend would run off to help with the twins. He had to get things set up and was expecting Tenmo early too. After leaving the hot breakfast to wake up Otso on it's own he made his way downstairs running into Tenmo. "Thanks again for helping with setup." Bryan said with a smile. "Hopefully the little kitten didn't give you any problems this weekend?" He questioned with a curious look before leading Tenmo into the ballroom. There was already a table and two chairs in the room but there was a lot to set up. "Did you remember the ring?" He asked as he opened a closet in the room that had everything else he had gotten for the occasion. "I'll have to go pick up the flowers later. Didn't want to get live flowers too early." He added.

 

Ren was not happy to wake up to the kitten being gone whining all morning as Kaine was making breakfast. "You know we were just keeping her for the weekend." Kaine told the young boy who was pouting at his feet looking up at him with big green eyes. The small panther had refused to say two words all morning but Kaine wasn't going to push it. He was sure after a good meal and some time outside that Ren would be feeling better.

Ash was a little bit sad too, keeping on looking at the spot where her bed was expecting her to hop up and meow at them for food. He kind of grew attached to the little runt fur ball and he kissed her little bits of affection. He could tell Ren was sad too, nuzzling quietly against him in an effort to comfort him.

 

“I got it” Tenmo dug into his pockets and managed to get the ring box with the ring inside. “I made the sausage octopus things in advance Yesterday to help you out so all you need to do is cook it for a minute in some boiling water. It will still be good, kept them refrigerated but didn’t cook them yet” He set down a small baggies of them he kept in a mess anger bag on his side. “I’ll start the setup while you get the flowers” He smiled, getting a table ready.

 

Meanwhile, Otso sniffed the air, slowly waking up and rubbing his eyes. Bryan? He thought as he didn’t feel him and opened his eyes to a breakfast in bed. Bryan made him this...? And it was all his favorites! Crepes, French toast with powdered sugar and eggs over East and sausage?! Oh wow! His tail wagged happily at his favorite breakfast foods as he chomped down with the biggest smile. Starting off the date day right! Otso thought as he didn’t want to rush it and get an upset stomach, he would still need to get dressed but not before a visit to the twins..He thought as he lapped you all the yolk

Ren whined louder when Ash nuzzled him. He knew the other was trying to make him feel better but he missed the little.kitten and wanted her back. Even though he knew and understood that it had just been for the weekend it was harder to make his heart understand that. "Come in boys. Breakfast is ready." Kaine gently told them encouraging them to sit at the table. "When do we get to see the kitten again?" Ren instantly asked. Kaine sighed as he filled the table with bacon, sausage, eggs and toast. "I don't know, Ren. I am sure once she has settled in with Otso and Bryan that you guys can go see her. Give it a day or two." Kaine replied trying to keep his spirits up but it didn't seem to be working.

 

"Perfect. I got some nice steaks to cook too." Bryan replied with a smile. He pulled out a strand of ribbon that would be big enough to tie in the kitten and hold the ring in place. "Once I am back with the flowers we can tie the ring into place and I'll get the food cooking." He told Tenmo. Appreciating that Tenmo would start setting things up while he went to get the flowers to act as a center piece for the table.

“That’s forever...” Ash sighed but would be happy to see him again. He knew it was temporary but he hoped Otso would take care of the little one. Knowing how kind and gentle he was, at least the kitten was safe and loved. But that didn’t make her departure any less sad..He thought as he went to the chair, stuffing the entire egg I into his mouth at once, squishing the yolk inside with his tongue.

 

“Gorgeous ribbon..” Tenmo smiled as he held it before placing it on the table for the time being. He was quick to cook the sausage, leaving it be for a few minutes to finish setting up the purple table cloth and plates. He tried to fold the napkins into a small little bird like they do at those fancy restaurants, doing his best attempt at it because he could never get it quite right. We went to get the sausage, setting them up in a separate container for Bryan to put on the plates as appetizers when he would use them. He went back to the kitten, tying the ribbon with the ring around his neck in advance so the kitten wouldn’t be swatting at the ring to get used to it

"I know, Ash." Kaine replied. It was easy for him to understand how it'd feel like a long time to the boys. But she was with her actual owner now, or would be by tonight and was in extremely good hands. "After breakfast we'll go outside. Hang out around the lake." He told the pair hoping it'd help distract them from the kitten. Ren didn't seem entirely enthusiastic about it but at least he had stopped whimpering and whining.

 

It didn't take Bryan long to return with the flowers. It was a good combination of red and white roses with some daisies mixed in. A golden ribbon was wrapped around them and he had them set in a nice vase. He was more than happy to set the vase in the middle of the table and continue working on getting things prepared. The hours passed as they worked and the food was all hot and ready. Everything was ready. Thanks, Tenmo. Everything is perfect." Bryan said with a bright smile getting more excited and nervous now. It was so close, and hopefully in a few more hours he'd be engaged to his precious little wolf.

Ash nodded quietly, figuring a day at the lake with Ren might be nice. He did manage to finish his breakfast, hoping he could visit the kitten soon. He hated seeing Ren so sad and it hurt him terribly inside.

 

“They look gorgeous..He will love these” Tenmo smiled, helping the other set up with whatever else he wanted help  with. Meanwhile, Otso has finished his breakfast and went right to seeing the twins. “Hello Shi, Otso!” He said with a big smile on his face. “Big date day today! He even made me all my favorite breakfast foods in bed!” He said with the happiest grin!
