An Ancient Feud (Private, 18+)

Shis ears perked up when he sensed movement, not sensing any immediate danger. He did see a tiny Ren stalking low in the grass but paid him no mind, acting like a cub practicing their pouncing skills for the very first time. He paid it no mind, eventually feeling the other get close to him and his children, his wife feeling the need to tell him to be nice. He let out a small huff through his nose, the tiny cat soon after plopping their head onto his back with a small purr. He relaxed rather quickly, not minding the small child around his babies. While he remained rather alert, he kept a loose tail wrapped lightly around the others body.

Feeling the form of the large wolf quickly relax after he had plopped his head on Shi's back had the small panther purring louder and more rapidly. Enjoying the moment, green eyes drifting shut as he relaxed there, feeling the fluffy tail of Shi wrapped lightly around his body. Ren very much enjoying being this close to the larger wolf, even if it meant being near the twins. His large ears kept turning or twitching at the slightest sound of either baby, though his eyes didn't reopen. Alise was smiling at the pair finding it adorable and glad that they got along so well, though with how much Shi seemed to care for Solaria she had to admit she wasn't all that surprised that he had accepted and seemed fond of Ren. The two children were similar in many ways, especially since neither of them really seemed to have a fear of Shi. Her eyes moved from them to the twins and then back to Kaine and Tenmo.

“I never would have thought I’d see Shi cuddling up with kids much less someone who can turn into a big cat” Tenmo said with a chuckle, finding the birthday girl had joined them at some point for a quick nap from her birthday party. “It’s really cute…and I’m glad he is happy..that people are happy” He said with a soft smile on his face

"It is rather remarkable." Alise mused, looking over her husband and children, Ren curled up against one side of her husband asleep with his head on the wolf's back, Solaria having joined the group and asleep as well. "It so cute though." She added with a bright loving smile. Kaine had to agree, the sight really was adorable, especially seeing Ren so comfortable. He loved that their son had found another person that he was comfortable around even if he was still quite surprised that it was Shi.

“Guess you really did help him open up” Tenmo couldn’t help but say with a soft smile. Ren was a catalyst to him meeting a woman who is now his wife and mother of his kids. A man once so quiet and reserved, still is, but letting children cuddle up on him and speaking more. “I’m glad our son has a friend as well, someone that isn’t their brother” He agreed with Ren, glad he was branching out to other people

Kaine nodded in agreement, "I have to agree. It's nice to see Ren warm up to someone other than Ash. I know he has Solaria as a friend but warming up to a pack member is really important." While Ren and Ash had both gotten along well with Otso during the full moon he knew it was important for Ren to form bonds with other members of the pack as well. It would be important for him to form such relationships with the coven too. With him being a werecat though Kaine had to admit he felt it was a bit more important that he warmed up to the pack and made friends there than the coven right now.

“Indeed, making friends with pack members will do him good. Of course the coven as well but having pack members being a werecat is important. Surprised it was Shi first but it works. Getting used to everyone here is a good stepping stone to then meeting strangers once he is better at controlling his form and schooling. RegaRdless, I’m rambling. In the end, I’m happy” He said as Solaris seemed to wake up from her nap, Shi lifting up his head to make sure she was alright, settling his head back by the twins when all seemed well

Kaine chuckled softly at his husband's rambling but he agreed with him all the same. "I don't know. If Ren can befriend Shi he can befriend anyone." He playfully teased, nudging his husband. Knowing Shi really wasn't that scary at least not since he had gotten together with Alise and seemed to be much friendlier in comparison. In the end Kaine really wasn't worried about Ren's ability to bond with members of the pack. Members if the coven he felt would be trickier for their son but still not all that hard. Humans on the other hand were another story, but with time he was sure even that would be rather easy for Ren. Even Ash had made some good bonds within the pack. His relationship with Asahi aside, which made Kaine happy as well knowing they didn't have to worry about their oldest either.

 

Ren had opened his eyes when Solaria woke up from her nap, his green eyes moved from her to Shi as his head raised up and he watched the wolf as Shi soon settled his head back down upon seeing the twins seemed well. Nuzzling the large wolf Ren decided he had enough of a nap and got up to go find something else to do, carefully moving away from Shi and the twins not wanting to get them crying.

“Thankfully Solaria is here..get him accustomed to humans slowly. I’m not sure if we mentioned we might try to enroll him in human schools along with Ash if they are capable when they are ready. It was discussed but if it doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen” Tenmo nodded, an arm around the other as he watched their son waking up from their small nap.

 

”let’s go eat some more cake!” Solaria said eagerly but quietly to not wake the twins, as she stood up beside the other. She didn’t want to wake them up when she was still standing so close, it wouldn’t make Shi very happy either.

"I am sure with Solaria's help and some time that Ren will come around and be able to join Solaria in school." Alise commented with a small smile. She would love to see little Ren attend human school with Solaria and not have to be privately tutored through his school years. If he wasn't able to do it, that was okay too. Watching as little Ren went off with Solaria to get some cake. Kaine nodded in agreement, smiling and leaning up to kiss his husband's cheek as he felt Tenmo's arm wrap around him. "No matter what, we'll do what's best for our boys. If that's human school, then that's great. If not, that's good too."

 

Ren was happy to follow Solaria and get some cake with her, slipping away from the twins and Shi quietly so not to wake them up. He returned to his human form once they neared the cake. At first, he just sniffed the slice of cake on the plate in front of him, hesitantly licking the frosting and finding it a little unsettlingly sweet. Taking a hesitant bite, he found he didn't mind the cake, even though he stayed clear of the frosting after that initial lick. Not really caring for that part of the cake.

“I know love…We will give him the best life we possibly can. While a part of me hoped he can join his friend in school, I would not be in anyway disappointed or sad if he couldn’t. I hope Ash will receive some formal human education as well, he seems to be adapting well to others but that doesn’t mean a school setting is guaranteed. It will all be wonderful..all of us” He smiled, kissing his husbands head as he watched the two kids eating cake, even if Ren seemed hesitant about it but Solaria didn’t seem to mind too much

Kaine nodded in agreement, his eyes moved from where Ren and Solaria were to where Ash was with Asahi. "I think if we could convince Asahi to go with him Ash would do fine in a school setting. We talked to the pair about it a little before." Kaine admitted, turning his gaze from the pair to his husband. In the end he knew whatever happened it was what was the best for their sons. So he didn't mind taking their time and making sure they did it right, not wanting to rush either one of them into something that would make them uncomfortable. He was sure they'd have some anxiety in the beginning regardless, it was just making sure that was a normal level and not what it would be if they were to rush things.

For the rest of the party they hung out with the other members of the pack and coven. Seeing Solaria open her presents and just enjoying being together. It was later in the evening when they finally made their way back home, the air was getting cooler so he knew it wasn't long before sunset. Ren was tired from all the running around and playing, holding his hand as they walked and rubbing his eyes. "That was a nice party that Adrian and Xavier did for Solaria." Kaine mused as they were making their way home. At one point he stopped to pick Ren up since their youngest son was starting to complain and say he was tired.

Tenmo smiled in delight at their family, glad he and Kaine sparked the two sides getting together. Solaria may not have been in the picture surrounded by loved ones. Shi would not have found love in a vampire and still be closed off from the world emotionally, now a father of twins and husband to a loving woman. His father would not have reunited with the love of his life and their two boys would still be in a place where things were different, where they can now fully bloom as individuals…

 

Life was good..

 

A few years have passed now since that party, all of the children having grown up a few years. Ash had eventually socialized and worked hard enough to get a job at the zoo, the humans finding he had a ‘gift’ for helping animals and assisting staff. Tenmo was so proud of him for it, letting him get the job to flourish alongside his boyfriend who he was still with now. Shis children were going to be starting preschool or kindergarten and it was adorable to see those little rascals walking around.
This year, little Ren was going to attempt his first year at the human school. He had been working so hard and thought he would be ready to go with Solaria, the human tutor they helped agreeing to keep their secret the first time they hired her. While Solaria and him may share few classes, them going to school together seemed like it would make them both eager, tomorrow  being their first day of high school. Solaria agreed to sleeping over the night of to walk with him and help his nerves. “I’m so proud of yooou” Solaria beemed, having starting developing more into a womanly figure starting last year. She looked more like her birth mother every day but she was still a talented beautiful young lady with only love in her heart. She had set aside a cute turtleneck sweater and knee skirt in the room upstairs, wanting to look extra girly for her first day even if she normally wore pants.

Ren was very nervous about starting human schooling the next day, but he felt like he was finally ready for it. It had been years since he and Ash were adopted from the island and he felt much more at ease here than he had when he was younger. It still made him nervous, human kids and teens were still louder than he particularly enjoyed but after learning a few helpful coping mechanisms he was sure he could pull it off. At the very least he had to try. It did make him feel a bit better that he had a couple of classes with Solaria and that she was spending the night so they could walk to school together in the morning. He was definitely taking after Ash and the others from the island in terms of his development, his body had remained slim despite his rather ravenous appetite and though he wasn't quite built there was clear muscle definition as well to show that he was growing up and no longer a little kid.

The past few years he had grown up quite a bit, wasn't as shy and timid around new situations though anxiety was still something he generally struggled with. He had picked out a nice outfit for the next day, wanting to make a good impression on his human classmates, though he also remembered asking his parents more than once why the coven and pack didn't just have their own school system to avoided situations like these altogether. There was no denying the soft blush that appeared on his face when Solaria was beaming at him and saying she was proud of him. His crush on her had seemed to get worse over the years, especially as she started to truly develop more into a young lady. But he did his best to keep his mind off of that and focused on other things. "Thanks... still really nervous though." Ren admitted with a small smile.

 

Alise was sitting down going through their kid's clothes to get rid of anything that no longer fit the twins and to pick out a cute outfit for them both for their first day of kindergarten. They had considered having them both do another year of preschool to make sure they could handle the full days of school better but she felt that they were ready and after discussing it more with Shi they had decided to keep the pair moving forward and on schedule. Kai was as much a Daddy's boy today as he had been the day he was born and she couldn't help but find it absolutely adorable. It was cute how shy he was too compared to his much more independent and outgoing sister. The pair really were like night and day. Their young son's favorite toy was still the stuffie of his Daddy that his Uncle Otso had made him. Rarely did she see her son not carrying it around with him, which always brought a smile to her face. The only time he had to go without it was the few hours the twins spent in preschool. She didn't even want to imagine telling him he'd have to go even longer without it this year as he'd be spending the full school day at school for kindergarten. Just the thought didn't make her all that happy, so she'd probably leave it to Shi who would have a much easier time convincing their son that it would be okay to not have his stuffie for a longer period of time. She had just finished Annabelle's last drawer of clothes and was getting up grabbing the basket full of clothes that were now too small for the twins and heading out of their bedroom.

She had been trying to hold off cleaning out their clothes since she hated to think of how fast they were growing up, but with a bunch of new school clothes to put into their closets and dressers it was finally time to say goodbye to everything that didn't fit and she wanted to make sure that they were going to start off the school year right. They had gotten them new little backpacks to fit the school supplies that their kindergarten teacher had requested for the year and of course new shoes. Just as she was exiting their daughter's room she saw their little girl running down the hall and laughed softly to herself. "Be careful running down the hall sweetie. Mommy doesn't want you to trip." She called after her.

 

Kaine was definitely excited about the next morning, both of their boys were doing so well and he was thrilled that Ren had decided on his own to start going to a human school instead of the private tutor he had all these years. Their son was smart and he had picked up rather quickly on his lessons, even if there were still things he clearly didn't care that much about. To think that he was going to be starting high school definitely brought a bright smile to his face, that and with Ash having a job at the Zoo he couldn't be a prouder parent. At the moment he was helping his husband get things ready for dinner, they had both continued to take turns cooking meals to make sure neither one of them got stuck doing it all the time. Even if Kaine thoroughly enjoyed cooking and didn't mind doing it most of the time. They had even started to make sure that both of their sons were able to cook different things too, not wanting them to grow up without any idea how to cook or care for themselves. Especially with Ash already being in his early twenties and Ren hitting his teen years.

Solaria knew she still had a small crush on Ren, one that was a more mature kind of crush with age. Before it was maybe childish at best but she watched Ren grow up along with her, him having a rather…nice figure. He had some more muscle definition as he got older but not too much. Ren was sweet and kind and just a really nice guy. She didn’t know if Ren liked her back and was far too shy to ask so she never did say..and she was shy to have a crush on her childhood friend! “You got this Ren, you’ll do awesome in your classes! You learned a lot and it’s not too bad for high school freshman. You’ll be a pro in no time! I’m still glad we can share our art courses and some extracurricular classes together” She beamed, excited thst they had some courses together since most of her classes were for very advanced students. She worked hard and studied a lot to be recommended for those courses by her middle school teacher. 
 

“Made your favorite Ren, start the year off right! Ash should be home any moment now from the zoo, he had a late night birthday party scheduled at the zoo for a group of kids so he had to stay to clean up” Tenmo chuckled as he wanted the others day to start off right and an even better night before with his favorite meal. On cue, Ash came through the door, still in uniform with a smile. “Go change and sit down, dinner won’t be ready for a few more minutes” Tenmo smiled before Ash went up to Kaine. “Hey dad, can I borrow you quick..?” He asked quietly, his fingers fidgeting with a little nervousness

“mooom I’m fiiiine” Annabelle called out in delight, tripping soon after. “I’m fine” She said muffled into the floor before she tried to take off running again in excitement for school. “Slow down little one, you’ll run your little feet off” Shi stood in her way, scooping her up with one hand. “Daddy, you can’t run your feet off!” She giggled in his arms, it making him chuckle a bit.

"I hope you're right." Ren said with a soft nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. He was sure that Solaria was right and that it wouldn't be too bad for high school freshmen. High school probably wasn't the best time to decide he was ready to start human schooling, but it was better than not doing it at all. Even if his parents had already told him it was okay if he wasn't ready and wanted to continue with his tutor instead. Ren didn't want to have to rely on a tutor until he graduated though, that and if he had even a small chance of spending more time with Solaria just by going to the human high school he wanted to do it. It was nice to get to hang out with her and see her when she came home, but it'd be nicer to be able to see her throughout the school day too. That and it would be good for him to get out there more instead of being cooped up in the coven and pack territory unless going to town with his parents or Ash. "Awesome! Thanks, Daddy." Ren happily replied when he was told that the older man had made his favorite for dinner, it was definitely going to help him start off the school year on a positive note.

 

Kaine was finishing washing up some of the dishes they had used to make dinner when Ash had come home. Turning the water off and drying his hands as their oldest asked if he could borrow him real quick. "Sure, Ash." Kaine replied with a smile putting the hand towel down and following his son out of the kitchen and into another room where they could talk privately with one another. "What's up, son?" He asked curiously, having noticed how Ash seemed to be nervously fidgeting with his fingers. Curious what could possibly have the older man so nervous, Ash had adjusted rather well and seemed like any other pack or coven member now. Seeing him nervous was something rare lately.

 

Alise playfully rolled her eyes and softly laughed when Annabelle told her she was fine before tripping a moment later and saying it again only this time muffled into the floor. Not remotely surprised that she had tripped but glad that she hadn't gotten hurt. "Where is your brother?" Alise questioned as Shi was scooping Annabelle up to keep her from running down the hall even more. As if on queue Kai poked his head out from the stairwell, "I'm over here, Mommy." He said softly. Almost as though he had been hiding from his running sister so not to get run over by her. This caused a small understanding smile to cross her face, remembering when they had learned to walk and had gotten better at it. Annabelle had on more than one occasion knocked her brother over while running or walking around. That wasn't to say Kai hadn't also knocked his sister over but he was definitely the more soft spoken and calm one of the pair. "Well come on you two, let's all head downstairs for some dinner." Alise suggest leaning over to kiss Annabelle's cheek real quick while Shi was holding her before heading for the stairs, she took Kai's hand with her free hand to help him down the stairs, still a little overprotective and not wanting him to fall.

Once downstairs she set the basket of old clothes by the front door so that they could take care of them later before helping Kai into his seat at the dinner table. Then she was turning to Shi and smiling at her husband, "Keep these two in their chairs while I plate dinner?" She asked him heading into the kitchen. The twins definitely had a tendency to get down and start running around again if left unattended at the table too long. She plated food for Kai and Annabelle first, taking it to them and getting both of them situated before she was getting her and Shi a plate.

“I’ll finish up here, you can take care of Ash” Tenmo smiled, knowing he himself would need to be up early as well with these two going to school and Shis twins going to kindergarten. He wanted to see the two off and be some support for the new dad around a bunch of parents. Alise he wasn’t worried about as much as Shi but he did want to see the two little ones off on their first day of, as they called it, ‘big kid school’. “Yeah, we will have the same art class and I had to squeeze my schedule around but we’ll have the same lunch period too so we can eat together. And don’t forgot MsHoney said you’re always welcome in her room if you need to leave to take a break. The teachers said you can go to the elementary school building down the road if you get anxious and don’t want to go to the counselors or can’t come find me. They’ll allow me out if I need to accompany you anywhere” She smiled, happy to step out of a class if she needed to help Ren. She was also happy to spend any sort of time with him.

Ash felt like his chest was tightening up, his ears even poking out of his head. He knew his dad wouldn’t tell Asahi but he couldn’t go by himself. He might get too nervous stepping in there alone. “S..so…I was wondering…if you could..I..Needed some help. Can you..after they all go to school…help me..go..get a ring for Asahi…?” His face turned a bright red saying it out loud. “I’ve been saving a lot of my money..a-and..I wanted..ring….” he mumbled, feeling progressively more shy

“Noooo I want to ruuuuun” Annabelle giggled in Shis arms, feeling especially hyper and excited today. “Let’s go now!” She said in excitement while Shi sat her down in her chair, fuzzing her head. “You know it isn’t until tomorrow” He chuckled, sitting her down after she tried to get up again. He didn’t think he was ready to let her go, knowing he would miss his babies all day. “Daddy will miss you two while you’re gone..Can Daddy have Little Daddy to keep me company…?” He tried to imply so Kai might want to leave it at home. It hurt to make him part with it and hoped this would work

Ren took in a deep breath and sighed, nodding. Still feeling a bit unsure but had to admit that the accommodations that the school had been willing to make to make the whole thing easier did make him feel a lot better. His eyes were on the table, thinking about tomorrow and how things would go, already feeling a little anxious. More than anything he had no idea how loud it was going to be and that was the main thing that contributed to anxiety away from the pack and coven. Humans were oddly loud and obnoxious in comparison to the family and everyone he had around him here. "Yeah... it'll be fine." Ren finally said, deciding that he could just worry about these things tomorrow. There was after all no point getting worked up about them tonight when nothing had even happened yet. There were things in place he could do if he needed to do so, or things could go really smoothly and he wouldn't need any of those things. It seemed much easier to just worry about them later, instead of doing what he would normally do and stress himself out over it tonight.

"Thanks, love." Kaine replied kissing his husband's cheek before going to help Ash out. He listened as his oldest son mentioned going with him to get a ring for Asahi tomorrow after Ren and Solaria left for school. Kaine had to use all the restraint he had to not start to gush over his son and how sweet it was that he had been saving up money to buy the other man a ring. The two had been dating for years now and he knew that they both referred to each other as mates, so it wasn't that surprising that his son wanted to put a ring on his boyfriend. That didn't mean it wasn't just as adorable regardless. Kaine gave his son a bright and loving smile. "Of course I'll go with you, Ash. We'll go after breakfast when Daddy walks with Ren and Solaria to school." He replied. Figuring they could leave at the same time as the others. Knowing his husband was only walking Ren and Solaria because it was Ren's first time at a human school and because the twins were having their first full day of school in kindergarten. He gently pat his son's arm, giving him a reassuring smile. "I think it's great that you've saved up money to do this. He'll be thrilled."

Kai was munching on a piece of pork from his plate when Daddy asked if he could have his stuffie to keep him company tomorrow while they were at school. Kai adamantly shook his head, clutching the small stuffed animal tighter. "No, Daddy. You have Mommy. Little Daddy's mine." He replied in a rather firm way. He loved his Daddy and didn't want him to be sad while they were at school but he wasn't going to leave his favorite stuffie behind either. Remembering that Mommy and Daddy had said they'd be at school longer than they were used to tomorrow, he didn't want to be without his little daddy that long. Kai hadn't even been happy not taking him to school before, making Mommy and Daddy bring it with them when they picked him up.

“You got this..” Solaria smiled, patting his back. Tenmo came back with Rens favorite dish, Solaria looking in awe. “Looks good Tenmo!” She said as it seemed they hd worked hard on the meal for them. “Looks really good, what a pre high school dinner!” She beamed, mouth watering at the meat laid before them. “It’s not all that much, it being Rens favorite I had a lot of practice” Tenmo chuckled but his tail did wag happily in pride. “Wish I had a tail like yours, bet mine would be poofy and pretty” Solaria smiled, knowing she was still going to ask her parents to be turning at 18.

Ash has a shy smile on his face, glad the other had agreed to take him. He was so nervous and hoped his nerves wouldn’t give it away until he could ask the question. He hoped he could even get through asking without it being a stammer. “I’m scared…What If I can’t talk? What if I freeze up..? What if he knows before I get to ask?” He said, still a bit nervous and buried his face into Kaines shoulder, feeling a little better when he did.

“I know I know..But mommy will be sad too” Shi said as he knew they would both be sad. He wasn’t ready to see his little ones grow up, especially his little daddy’s boy. “What if it gets covered in paints and glue? Little Daddy will get dirty at kindergarten” He attempted it once more, not wanting to see his Kai cry. “I wanna paint all Da colors! Big mess!” Annabelle giggled, trying to peek into the kitchen to see if the food was done yet

Ren hummed happily as his Daddy entered the room and put his favorite food on the table, taking in a deep breath. Loving the scents in the air and the look of the food. "It does look really good." He agreed with a nod and a bright smile. Ren knew he would be just fine at school tomorrow, so he was happy to be able to focus on the delicious food that was on the table instead. Even though Ash and his Dad weren't at the table yet, his mouth watering at the sight of the food. His attention was caught by Solaria again when she spoke about having a tail, his eyes going to see that his Daddy's tail was wagging rather happily from the praise she had given him. This caused a small smile to appear on his face, a bit amused that Solaria seemed to want a tail like his Daddy's. Not that he could blame her, after all a werewolf's tail was rather fluffy. Ren sat there for a moment, trying to imagine how Solaria would look with a tail like that, but it was hard for him to imagine.

Kaine wrapped his arms around his son in a reassuring hug, rubbing his back gently as Ash rested his head on his shoulder, clearly nervous and needing the support for what was about to happen. "You don't need to worry about it, Ash. When the time is right and you're ready to ask it will come to you easily. I promise." Kaine reassured his son. "I also wouldn't worry about Asahi finding out. I am sure deep down he knows you'll ask some day, but it will still be a surprise to him when you finally do." He added. Not wanting Ash to psych himself out or worry too much. After all, he knew Tenmo had been really nervous asking too, he was sure the same could have been said about Shi and Bryan when asking Alise and Otso. It was completely natural to be nervous and worried that something might go wrong. Just like all of them though, Kaine knew his son would be just fine.

Kai frowned a little when Daddy said that Mommy would be sad too, mentioning that little daddy might get dirty at kindergarten from paints or glue. "He won't get dirty, Daddy." Kai replied shaking his head. Not about to accept that his stuffie would get dirty at school. He'd be extra careful to make sure that didn't happen, knowing he'd surely get upset if it did happen. His eyes moved to his sister at painting, scrunching his face up a little. Kai didn't like the feeling of paint on his fingers or hand, not really being a fan of it at all. "Don't wanna paint." Kai said. Not liking the idea at all.
Alise walked into the room with plates for both Kai and Annabelle, setting the plates down in front of them, she talked Kai into letting go of his stuffie, setting it on the table away from the other's plate to keep it clean before she was making sure that Annabelle was using her little fork and not her fingers. Then she went back and grabbed her and Shi's plate, returning and giving her husband his plate before she was sitting in her seat with hers, already have set the drinks down. "How's it coming?" She asked Shi, knowing her husband was trying to talk Kai out of taking his stuffie to school and wondering if he had made any progress with it.

“I hope so..” Ash nodded, knowing he wanted to take Asahi on a romantic outing like all the movies he had watched since coming here to his parents house and land. A nice dinner, get dressed up in those ridiculous money ‘suits’, look all nice and have a nice ring he can put on Asahis finger at the end. He hoped it would go really well when the time came. He nodded before getting off the other to go change and join the rest of the family in the room. “Dig in before it gets cold” Tenmo laughed, asking about his work day as the chat started about all their days.

 

“Not exactly well, quite firm” Shi said as he knew it was hard enough getting him to go without it to preschool but it seemed getting him to part with it for longer was going to be harder. “All the paint! Glitter, glue, snack time, numbers!” Annabelle said eagerly, trying to use her fingers when her mommy wasn’t looking. She saw her daddy looking at her and quickly went back to using her fork again

Kaine smiled and watched Ash head upstairs to get out of his uniform before he entered the dinning room and joined the others at the table. Talking while they waited for Ash to return before everyone was digging in and getting some food, talking about their day and catching up. It was really nice to have them all together and to have Solaria over for the night. She always made things a lot easier for Ren and he loved having her around since she was really well behaved. Dinner was nice, with all of the talking and making sure that everyone had eaten enough. Kaine was more than happy to help take care of the dishes and wash them up, especially since his husband had cooked dinner. 

Alise couldn't help but offer a small smile to her husband when he said that Kai was quite firm in not giving up the stuffie while at school. "I knew you'd have a hard time, but I also know you're the only one who can convince him to do it." She told her husband, as her eyes were caught by Kai who was being cute and trying to share his food with his stuffie. Her eyes moved to Annabelle though when their daughter was eagerly saying all of the things they would do. She was a little worried that with her energy and everything that Annabelle might be a bit hard for her teacher to handle, but she hoped their little girl could reel the energy in enough and behave herself. "You'll make very pretty pictures when you paint too. Just remember to get more glitter on your projects than on you." She lightly teased her daughter. Knowing how Annabelle could be at home with arts and crafts, especially glitter.

They talked for what felt like forever before Tenmo knew they would need to get to bed. “All right all right, you all need to get to bed. You both need to be up early tomorrow to get to school on time and have enough time to find your rooms” Tenmo said as dinner was coming to a close. He pat Solarias shoulder and waved his hand at the three kids to go off to bed, Ash on his phone trying to find the ring he was looking for on the stores website yet again. It was the ring he wanted to see on Asahi finger, the idea of looking at it made his heart thump in joy. It took awhile tog et used to the idea of the phone, still not understanding a lot but it got easier overtime.

 

“It’s hard..I don’t want to force it off him love. I couldn’t do it..I don’t know what to do” Shi sighed as he didn’t know how to make it work by tomorrow morning. Annabelle made a bit more of a mess but most of the food was at least getting into her mouth for dinner. “Done!” She tried to get out without eating the vegetables but Shi went after her in wolf form, bringing her back to the table by the scruff. “Awww I don’t wanna” She huffed, staring down the corn on her plate.

After talking quite a bit and enjoying the dinner Ren reluctantly followed Solaria upstairs, knowing that Ash was following them. He said goodnight to Solaria and his brother before heading to his room and getting ready for bed. Once lying down his mind was racing, it took him awhile in order to fall asleep. Once the kids had all gone upstairs Kaine turned to his husband offering him a small smile. "You sure you're ready for tomorrow? Between Ren's first day of human school and meeting up with Shi and Alise for the twins first day of kindergarten you'll be quite emotional." He mused. Knowing that his husband still wouldn't be half as emotional as he was sure Shi and Alise would be, since the twins would finally be having full days at school.

 

"It's okay. We'll figure it out." Alise told her husband with a small smile, knowing that Shi didn't have the heart to force it off of Kai. Neither did she, that was one reason why she had wanted Shi to give it a try. But if her husband couldn't get it from him then she'd have to give it a shot. Even if she had to just be honest with her son and tell him he couldn't take it to school with him. As Annabelle did really good eating her food only to run off and try to get out of eating her vegetables Shi ran after her as a wolf and she chuckled softly. Watching as she huffed and stared down at the corn on her plate, "Come on sweetie, just take a few bites of corn." Alise tried to encourage. Then she turned her attention to Kai who had ended up with more food on the floor or his lap than actually in his mouth, no surprise there. He was far more interested in trying to feed his stuffie too which ended in more food on the floor than actually in their sons mouth. "Kai, sweetie." She started, reaching out and gently patting his hand. "You know little daddy can't go to school tomorrow don't you?" She told her son. The look Kai gave her stated plainly he did not agree.

“I should be fine..I just didn’t think the day would come so soon. He’s going to school today..felt like yesterday we took them home. They’re growing up so fast” Tenmo said with a tiny smile. His youngest was going off to school…His eldest had his first job in human society. He knew it would have been harder had they come to them younger but it was still hard. “Hard to believe the twins are old enough for their first day of kindergarten. I’m glad they are able to go to school and haven’t had issues having both sides blood in them” He smiled softly, kissing Kanes head. “Poor Shi..We are going there more for him” He chuckled with a kiss

“Noooo, corn is squishy and icky” Annabelle stuck out her tongue, trying to dart off again but Shi didn’t even need to look up from his plate to stop her and keep her in her chair. “No leaving the table until corn is eaten Annie” He said quietly, Annabelle not fond of it and more poking at it with her fork and licking it. “Mommas right dear..I know you want to take Little Daddy but he needs to stay home…I’m sorry” He said, it breaking his heart but knew it had to be done
