The live action they made over bored on purpose cause they wanted it ot be as close to the anime as they could. I found out about Ouran and saw the first episode while at my second con when my bff purchased it. My fave characters believe it or not is Tamaki and my favorite pairing is a tie between the twins and 'mommy' and 'daddy aka Kyoya and Tamaki. Also I notice a lot of people dissing Tamaki's character. I will say he has a reason for acting the way he does. He's basically been torn from his mom and his grandmother can't stand him and it hurts him. He denies his feelings for Haruhi in the series because he doesn't want to get hurt like his mother did so that's why he acts that way. cat_greenmoon Posted February 24, 2012 Share Posted February 24, 2012 I learned of Ouran like five or six years ago now when a friend of mine got the first couple of volumes of the manga. I read the first one or two and it didn't really stick with me. Then like three years ago I actually got the chance to watch the anime. By then I'd really wanted to see it because one of my favorite voice actors (Vic Mignogna) does Tamaki's voice in the English dub, so I was really excited. Anyway though, I watched it and I absolutely adore the series! I so want to watch the live action drama and get to read the manga. Let's see, favorite pairings...Same sort of reasons that have already been said. Tamaki and Kyoya (the Dad and Mom of the group), Mori and Hunny (they're just so adorable and perfect together - not to mention Mori's character song basically states that no matter what he'll always be by Hunny's side protecting him!) and then of course the Twins! How could you not love Hikaru and Kaoru! Every time they had one of their 'forbidden moments' I was fangirling and trying not to bleed onto the carpet! Just an all around amazing show. iMarionette Posted March 25, 2012 Share Posted March 25, 2012 I also found about Ouran from a friend; she seemed to like it a lot and what she told me it seemed fun, so I took the time to read the manga myself. I'm happy to say she was right. I loved it then and I love it now, hmm... four years later? Both manga an the anime, which just has me laughing to tears at times. Ouran is actually a type of anime I'm surprised to have been found talking about and sharing with my brother, who is usually more into action. Not only him, but one summer I had a friend stay over for a week, a girl who was never into manga or anime, but she sat through Ouran willingly after I played her the first episode. Though she never got further into different manga or anime, she remained a true fan to Ouran, Tamaki and the twincest so I'm able to comment about it often with her ^^ Personally, I find my favourite non-canon pairing to be Kyouya and Tamaki. I really imagined him pairing up with Tamaki from the first episode and I really thought that Honey and Mori were a couple so I was kinda sad when they said they were cousins. I loved it immediately! Its so funny and I always crack up watching it.
