[Saga]

Was it fate to end up like that? Was it just a mere mistake on his side? What was it? His conscious didn't wrap around the pain while different objects were sent into hits against his ribs. He just thought of his past.

 

Good thing was that his old man trained his body to endure pain, he was once again grateful to him. There - CUT!

Another cut on his cheek by a knife. The others didn't waste their time playing it gentle. Nanao I was already bleeding,shirtless and exhausted. The man was breathing heavily.

With his eyes closed, he refused to make a sound. He wouldn't please them all with his groaning or sobbing. No,he would never do it.

 

Meanwhile,the boss was on his way to pick Nanao II and go out drinking again. They had to finish their talk about the drugs.

Now Nanao II had to be more careful with every single step,which he was doing.While he was still sitting on the bed,he was remembering the documents for the mission.Soon he had to finish it ot other detectives would come and would catch Nanao I before,Nanao II to do it.

 

The detective didn't know that the mafia already were catch the killer of his parents,but soon he would understand about it.Nanao II got up and looked at the window,where the last night,he saw Nanao I's back.Come to think of it,he was wondering what was the other doing?Does he already leaved this place or he was still the dealer's bodyguard?Or something was happening to him?

The boss finally was in front of Nanao II's door. He knocked once,on both of his sides bodyguards were along with him.

-"Mr.Saito? Are you awake yet?",he came all the way to this room,just to pick the boy for the meeting.

 

It wasn't anything big,just dealing with a few details about their future partnership. The boss was pretty pleased to have the fearful assassin in his hands. Now,nothing could stop him,or was it a lie?

"Uh,yeah..." Nanao II answered.He leaved the room,going with the dealer to meet with another people from the mafia.The day was really busy with all the things about the drugs and everyone was really interested in Ichiro's new partner - Nanao II.

 

The detective was really worried what should he do with the money about the drugs,because everything was in Alexander.Yeah Nanao II had some money,but they wasn't enough for a deal like this.

 

It was already a night.Ichiro's band went to one of the dealer's bars.Nanao II had to be careful now,without Nanao I and Alexander around him.Come to think of the assassin,he wasn't with Ichiro today,but why?

-"What a nice night,isn't it ,my friends?",Ichiro laughed,all content for having Nanao I in his hands. A few other males were at that bar,kind of partners of his. He turned to Saito and grinned.

 

-"Let me introduce you my partners. From left to right,this is Mikado,Ko,Saga and of course, J.",he introduced the males and they nodded heads,each after hearing his own name.

 

-"So,let's have some fun,after this tiring day,partners.",the boss took a seat and beckoned the waiter to come over for their order.

Nanao II was smiling all the time,but the truth was that he didn't feel so happy about that.It wasn't that interesting for him,listening what the others were talking about.On the contrary it was really boring.Of course when they asked him something,he could answer.

 

When the waiter came to take their order,the detective wanted only an orange juice.Maybe it would look strange,but he didn't want to be like the last night,couldn't move or step on his feet.

The boss blinked a few times when the waiter served Nanao II an orange juice.

-"Hangover?",he joked,but sipped from his own drink. However,the interesting part was in its forming state.

 

-"My,my, what a news,I have for you.",Ichiro started,all grinning from toes to heels.

-"What is it,Mr. Ichiro?",a male asked,while leaning forward.

-"I've caught him.",he laughed and took another sip from the glass with whiskey.

-"Who?",they all blinked.

-"The man that both the law and the mafia fear.",he said it,he finally said it.

-"...Nanao I?",they couldn't believe,so they asked for confirmation.

-"Oh,indeed. He is in our hideout,all worn out. So helpless.",he almost hummed it.

-"How did you...isn't he the genius of blade-mastering?",another male joined the conversation.

-"Even a genius is not perfect.",the boss tried to look smart,but actually that wasn't the truth. Araki chose it himself,he couldn't bear to cut for a second time the boy he saved years ago.

-"That's amazing! We finally can bring down this friggin' idiot - K.",one of them mentioned Nanao I's boss - the mafia's boss.

-"Well,first,we've got to kill Nanao.",Ichiro nodded and looked over Saito.

-"But,how long has it been since the boy came into this world?",one of the partners asked.

-"I don't know the details,but wasn't it when he killed these two researchers and their kid?",from the crowd on the table,another male asked.

-"Oh,yes. All mafia men were surprised by the kid's decision to rise a blade and cut them dead.",Ichiro lit a cigarette.

-"So,he finally will die. Pity, it was fun to see him bring chaos into this world.",the male said with a sigh.

-"Every beginning has its own end,dear friend.",Ichiro put a hand on Saito's shoulder.

-"I have a pretty nice task for you,partner.",he grinned.

Nanao II took his juice,all calmed.When the other joked him,he just nodded lightly,grinning as well.He could see how stupid the mafia dealers were.He was thinking other things when he heard the name of the man who killed his parents.

They had catch Nanao I? How could that be possible?Wasn't he escaped?Nanao II was shocked.He listened carefully now,what they was saying about him.

 

The other thing which surprised him was,that they knew about the case with his parents.Was that so funny,remembering how Nanao I killed them.Hah and they thought that Nanao II was dead.How stupid they really were.

 

The detective clenched his fist under the table,but in the same time,trying to smile like he don't know nothing about that.When Ichiro,put his hand on Nanao II's shoulder,he shocked a bit.

 

"A task?" he asked.What was the other wanted now?

[Saga]

-"Yes. A task. I will make his death spectacular and you will unit our partnership forever,if you kill him.",the boss was all excited for his idea. It was like pledging loyalty.

No one dared to object,they all darted glances at Nanao II,waiting for his decision.

 

Wasn't it that what the young boy wanted? To have him dead by his hand.

What?They wanted from to Nanao II to kill Nanao I?In front of many people? Yeah,the detective always thought that Nanao I is monster,but now he could see that the real monsters are these men in front of him.How could they play with someone's life like that?Was that the real world?

 

"I...." Nanao II started,remembering that he always wanted to kill that man,but now does he really wanted it?The detective chuckled faintly,looking with cold look at the dealers in front of him. "I'll do it."

[Saga]

-"Good. I like this look.",Ichiro laughed and patted once again the detective.

Everything was planned,so now Nanao I would probably die. Or not?

 

The assassin was barely keeping his eyes open,keeping his conscious on,it was hard task after so many cuts and so many punch into his body.

The night fell,yet he couldn't even tell that a day has passed. The blade-master kept his senses shut down,the only thing that was working right now was his heart.

It was already a day.Nanao II couldn't sleep like usual.He was having these nightmares again.Then he dreamed how he was taking Nanao I's life.Just the think of it made him shiver,but soon he would have to do it.

 

Nanao II had to follow the bodyguards which Ichiro sent to pick up the detective and to go right on the execution.Finally the time come.Nanao II entered inside the execution's place.He could see that Nanao I was already there.One of the bodyguards gave to the detective a sword and the other said:

 

"Don't try to betray the chief or we kill you both."

 

"Hah and you two,don't try to cheat me or I'll cut your tongues,then your legs,your hands and finally your head." Nanao II hissed.

[Saga]

The assassin was moved to a bigger room,his body not quite immobilized from the pain,but yet hurting like hell. He closed his eyes and grinned when he heard familiar steps closing by.

 

Ah,yes,that was the voice,he expected to hear - it was Nanao II.

The assassin accepted the fact that they made the boy kill him. At least,he would die by this hand,no regrets at all. The blade-master kept his gaze down,not even daring to look up. His lips curved into a smile. If it was the end,he could smile for last time,right?

Nanao II was stepping slowly to the scene were another two bodyguards were with Nanao I.The detective was sure that Ichiro and the other dealers were watching from somewhere near to this room.He looked back to see how many bodyguards had in the room.He smiled faintly,seeing that there only two who were near to him.

 

Nanao II squeezed his sword,looking finally at Nanao I. He looked terrible.Now the detective could say where the other male was.The young male came close to Nanao I,asking with low tone:

"Why?....Why did have to kill my parents?" That question was the only think,which stopped him from kill the other just when he saw him.And that question would make Nanao II to change his mind,but could it be really possible?

[Saga]

Just when he expected to be beheaded,he heard the young boy's question. Actually,no one asked Nanao I this,why he killed,was killing and kept killing.

The assassin dropped down his smile,his expression became kind of sadden,rather regretful,but full with confidence. - It was called 'Pride'.

 

Even though he looked weak,the male coughed a chuckle. The other male was talking so quiet,it was only for Araki's ears. So he decided to answer.

-"Use the blade not for killing,but to protect.",he quoted his own father,a small and humble smile on lips,he opened his silver eyes. They haven't lost their sparkle yet. He lifted his head to look at the boy's eyes.

-"But what happens,when the only way to protect is killing,.....Hajime?",here,he said his reason and something more,he called the real name of the boy. No,his name wasn't Nanao II,he was Hajime Kaito. The assassin was sure that the boy in front of him was the boy he marked ten years ago. - He felt the scar when they spent the night together,so his doubts back then were cleared.

 

Could the other remember what really happened just from hearing his own name?

Nanao II shocked when he heard the other male's words.He was sure that he heard something like that before,but where?That's right his teacher and Nanao I's father.The detective just grinned lifting his sword.

 

The bodyguards made a content smile,thinking tat Nanao II was ready to kill the assassin.He heard Nanao I's last words,but before the other to say the detective's real name,he swung his sword and cut the one of the bodyguards neck for a seconds the sword cut and Nanao I's ropes,because he was tied and then the last cut from the sword was right in the other bodyguard's stomach.

 

Bad,Nanao II couldn't hear his real name,but he could finally free Nanao I.He felt that now he needed him more than evenything other.

 

"These words....Be thankful to...your father." the detective said,trying to help to Nanao I to stand up on his feet.

[Saga]

-"Heh..",the assassin could finally stand on his feet,slightly stumbling over, he leaned forward to reach the boy's ear.

-"It's too early for you to help me, kid.",he kept his cool and right when he said that,the flying crowd of bodyguards granted him a sword. Yes,he shoved a kick at one of them,pulling a sword out from him.

 

That was the real warrior, always ready for a fight. Always ready to give their life away for something they wanted to protect.

-"Show me your blade, kiddo.",this silver eyes,stronger than ever, they kept their luminous effect over the situation.

 

Right now,Nanao I was pairing with Hajime to fight the mafia, to fight the law and put a new beginning of everything.

"Hah,as you wish." Hajime answered on the two think,which Nanao said,seeing that in the room did come many bodyguards.So he was,right? Ichiro and the other dealers were watching from somewhere.

 

The detective looked at Nanao for a moment,wanting to see if he was really okay and ready,then ran right forward,ready to cut everything which he see.He was really mad right now,so he started to cut without waiting for the bodyguards to do something and to stop him.

Everything was like showering them in blood. They both were professional when it came to cutting and slicing. The fact that their teacher was Araki made them unique enough to be the perfect pairing.

 

If one couldn't make it for a slice,the other was just as precise with the timing as the other to help and cover back with his blade.

Nanao I was as usually losing himself in the darkness,yet,every time he heard the cutting blade of Hajime through the air and the flesh it cut,he came back to his senses. This time, he wasn't anything like a mad dog. The man was fixing his mind to not lose the fight.

Kaito couldn't believe how many people he had to kill,but it couldn't be helped.On top of everything more and more Ichiro's people continued to come.It was such a pain in the ass.

 

The only good thing was that he wasn't alone now.No matter that Nanao was his enemy before.now they were partners and they had to help each other.On time to time Hajime was throwing looks at Nanao,because no matter that he didn't want help,the detective was worried.

If it wasn't for all he had to endure during the years, Nanao I did it mostly for breaking out of the cage. Now he understood the last words of Hajime's chief - "become the law itself".

 

If everything was rotten and the male was right, they couldn't trust the mafia,nor the law.

Finally standing back against back,the males were over with slicing around the enemy.

They both were breathing heavily, covered in blood. Araki thought he was a monster,but the young boy did as well as himself - he wasn't only the skilled one.

-"Heh.",he grinned widely,from the corners of his eyes,he glanced towards Kaito,who was with back turned against Nanao's back. From their katana blood was sliding down. Had they to fight again? He left that choice to Hajime.

 

After all,they had time. Nanao I was good at hide-and-seek. So,the dealers wouldn't be able to escape.

When everyone was killed,Nanao II took a deep breath,when he felt that he had to do one more thing.While he was back to back with Nanao I,the detective looked with the corners of his eyes the other boy.chuckling lightly.

 

Hajime remembered the last words which Nanao said to him the night which they spend together.He lifted lightly his sword first removing the blood from it and then jumping fast forward,slashing then back to Nanao I.

The assassin expected it. He just put his sword back over his own back to block the slice from cutting once again his back.

-"My,my. I might not like my dragon,but yet, I don't like scars.",he commented jokingly,pushing away Kaito's blade to turn around.

 

It was a rare sight to see the boy in fire. Yeah,these eyes - he fell in love with them back then.

Araki lifted his sword,just for a mere second and he was stepping on Hajime's shoulder. It looked that it was too easy and yet, it felt as if Nanao I weighted less than a feather.

-"Why is it your purpose for fighting me,kid?",the blade-master asked,jumping off Hajime's shoulder,not really up for attacking the other yet.

Kaito wasn't really surprised from Nanao's speed,but the surprised that didn't really felt the other,but there was only a feather on his shoulder.Somehow the young male,could feel that the other don't want to fight.

 

"Why?" Didn't the assassin remembered his own words?!The detective went in front of Nanao,grabbing his by the shirt,so could pull him more close,then lifted lightly to whisper in his ear:

 

"Didn't you the one who wanted rematch?"

 

Kaito chuckled letting Nanao's shirt and stepping back.

[Saga]

Araki laughed lightly. Damn this kid,always grabbing him for the shirt. Nanao lifted his silver gaze and looked over the other.

-"Yes. But I won't use blade against you.",he retreated his katana and grinned.

-"I'll get my leave now. There are still people who are supposed to be judged,kid. Ah,no, I meant - Kaito.",he corrected himself and drew away his sword.

 

The blade-master didn't plan to take Hajime along. It was too dangerous,but would the other agree with this decision?
