"No I don't think so not right now. If I don't think about it it won't bother me." he said smiling and looked at him. "So for our next meal what do you want to try next?" he asked looking at him and smiled. "We can try anything that you want if you want dessert we can try that as well."

Ranii shrugged and decided not to mention the headache anymore. ?I don?t know. Let?s try dessert here and then when we get hungry again, let?s try the shrimp. That?s seafood, right? Comes from the ocean?? He asked. He knew that one of Alec?s ancestors had been a fisherman.

"Yeah shrimp is seafood and yes it does come from the ocean. Have you done research about earth before you started to watch me." he said smiling and looked at him. "I am glad you know that. So what do you want to try there are Ice cream, cheese cake, A big cookie with Ice cream whip topping and a cherry on it or the same thing just with a cake." he said smiling

Ranii laughed a bit. ?One of your ancestors was a fisherman. I learned a lot from reading about him. And I don?t mind. Why don?t you pick for me? Please?? He asked, unintentionally giving Alec a puppy dog look.

"How can I say no when you look at me like that. Is there anything that you can't eat let me start there first." he said looking at him wondering what he should order, but was leaning towards the cookie with ice cream.

Ranii shook his head. ?Nope. I was tested when I was born and I don?t have any allergies.? He said. He was only limited by what he liked or didn?t like, and the only way he was going to find that out is by experimenting. He grabbed Alec?s hand, linking their fingers together. He liked the touch.

"Alright." he said smiling and ordered the big cookie and they went to make it for them. "Must be nice to know what you are allergic to." he said smiling and closed his eyes and just thought about how different his life was going to be now.

Ranii took the opportunity to study Alec, memorizing his features. It was one thing to view it through a screen, but he felt like it was different, much better, to view him in person. He found himself hoping that Alec would agree to being more than friends at some point, but he had to remind himself that while he knew a lot about Alec, the man didn?t know much about him. ?Ask me some questions. I?m terrible at talking about myself. What do you want to know about me?? He asked as he tightened his grip for a moment in Alec?s hand.

"Lets see. I don't really know what I want to ask you right now its kind of hard. lets see how old are you in my time and in your time." he whispered. "Have you always lived in space and why is some of your people can't be around them, but some can? I know you explained it a little. Are you like the second gen of your race?" he asked being quite as he was asking the questions

Ranii hummed as he thought about his answers. ?Let?s start with the most complex. Why some of us can be around humans and others can?t. There were a few families of my race who fled to earth to get away from the Purge. That?s what we call the thing trying to wipe us out. They got... very sick, but a couple of them had children while being sick who developed antibodies. They eventually made it back to the space station, but the antibodies were passed down from generation to generation. Eventually, the memory of which ones had it and which didn?t became so convoluted that we just decided to err on the side of caution and assume no one had it. As for how old I am, according to human years, I?m about 200. But I?m the human equivalent of about 23. Once we had a home planet, but it was quickly overrun in the early days of the war. Now, for the last five generations or so, we?ve lived on that station.? He said, ticking off each answer.

"Wow that is a lot to take in. So that is why you were send down to earth because they were scared that you would get others sick from being with me. This is kind of sad that you can't be with your family any more because of me." he said looking at him. "Well I am glad you are part of the ones who can stand me and damn I like an old man." he said biting his lip and sighing. "So this purge what are they are they a race or being or what?" he asked looking at him wondering about what the purge was if he was going to be involed

Ranii shrugged. ?I don?t know what the purge is. The scattered reports I?ve gotten from the ancient history says that it?s a race of vicious people, but the way they decimate everything... I don?t think it?s really a race. It could be a very powerful being, but then the question is why target is?? He mused. Then he sighed. ?Does it bother you that I?m so, as you put it, old?? He asked carefully, his shoulders hunched just a bit. He was a tiny bit scared of the response.

"So no one has ever seen the purge and lived to tell the tell. Alright so where did your race come from?" he asked looking at him and tried to process everything. "No it doesn't really bother me it just through me off guard I didn't expect you to say 200 maybe lower 80's." he said looking at him as he took a drink of his drink in front of him

Ranii shrugged his shoulders. ?You unwittingly just asked the biggest question my race has. Where do we come from? From all of the other alien races, we are the most like humans, but we have no idea where we came from nor how our section of space became inhabited by our race. Maybe someone at some point knew, but the secret was lost.? He said solemnly.

"Thought I would try, but if you don't even know then I don't know." he said smiling and looked at him. "Maybe we can find out together you know." he said smiling. "So there are other Alien's out there in the world and we are not alone?" he said thinking about it but trying to keep his voice down so he didn't let anyone else know what they were talking about

?That would be nice. I like that idea. And no, you aren?t alone. Humans are rather... noisy with all of your radio waves and satellites. So most of the alien races stay away, not wanting to draw attention. And those that are warlike consider the human race beneath them so they stay away too. Earth doesn?t have many resources on it that other aliens want.? He said honestly, moving over to sit next to Alec, wanting to be a bit closer.

"Wow that is nice to know." he said laughing. "I am guessing that I just never thought of it you know." he said shrugging then sighing and looked at him as the cookie came and they set it down in front of them. "Alright lets dig in if you still want to eat." he said eating the food

Ranii nodded his head. He wanted to try as much as he could! All of it had been really good so far and he wanted to keep the streak going. The first bite actually made him give off a soft moan, something only Alec would be able to hear. ?This is super good.? He said with a smile, liking the sweetness a lot.

Alec smiled and looked at him then shook his head. "I am glad you like it so much its a different type of food I am guessing you never had anything sweet like this before?" he asked looked at him. "I guess I got the right stuff. I love the warm cookie with the cold ice cream and it melting as well." he said smiling

Ranii shook his head with a small laugh. "No, I've never had anything sweet before. We haven't ever been able to recreate it. It's so good. I like the temperature difference too. I've always seen ice cream and I wondered how it would taste. It's better than I could have ever imagined." He said, giving Alec a quick hug.

"never thought you would be this excited over something like this I am glad I got this for you. Desserts to try future baby if you ever get to go home. Baby you'll be able to share this with them." He said happy that Ranii was excited about the food.

Ranii smiled softly and shook his head. "I'm not going to have children. I don't think I'll be allowed back home, and I'm okay with that. I have you, for as long as you'll let me be with you. And if you get tired of me, I'll still watch over you, I'll just try to stay out of your way so that you can live a happy life." He said seriously.

"I don't think I will ever get tired of you and you would have to disappear after a while or people will question why you don't age. I am sure you do just at a slower rate." he said looking at him as he ate the food. "I have never met anyone else that I liked at first glace so I am guessing you are the one you know." he said smiling. "So we will live in town for a few years and then move out into the country so no one will know about you." he said looking at him. "I would say look after my family, but I don't think I will have any I can't have kids either." he said

Ranii hadn't really thought much about Alec growing older and dying. A plan began to form in his head, but he kept quiet about it for now. "Alright, sounds good. And I liked you at first glance too. I want to make you happy, and I want to be near you." He said, his voice softer and more emotional.

"That is good I am glad that you feel the same way that I do about this." he said as he finished is side of the cookie. "I'll show you everything that I can do as well." he said smiling and put the money that Ranii just made for him and they accepted the money. "So do you have any food you want to take home or did you eat all of it.
