It was broadcasted on Taiwan's Public Television Series (PTS) channel and the series turned out to be a media hit. Crystal Boys spans over 20 episodes. A-Qing, after being thrown out of his home in shame (due to a certain incident with his best friend Zhao Ying), seeks solace in New Park, a known meeting ground for the impoverished of the Taipei gay community, the Crystal Boys, a home for the lost and destitute, where the story of "Dragon Prince" (Long Zi) and "Phoenix Boy's" (A-Feng) passionate and fateful love has become a legend. Here he meets and befriends other young people, who also share similar family backgrounds.
