I've been meeting up with some friends- in my years I've already met some incest-couples.( Some couples have great kids, some have....sick kids)

 

I don't think incest is necessarily something bad. Culture and Religion has been fighting incest, but, Hey, in my opinion there's nothing wrong with incest, unless it's your mother or father( morality- it's my morality, my belief).

 

Incest Partnership and kids- that's another topic.

 

Sibling-couples: There's a high chance that recessive genes may harm the child. If both parents have a genetic abnormality, the child has a high chance of becoming "sick"( 1/4, 25% risk- siblings).

 

But, but, but! If both parents have the same mother and father with POSITIVE/GOOD Genes, the Child may call him/herself lucky! He/She just received STRONG AND POSITIVE GENS!! He/she will be stronger then others.

I've nothing against incest couples as long as it's a "more or less" healthy couple. Today's society changes rapidly. We are accepting things that our grandparents would never accept. ( culture, lifestyle etc.). It's all about culture. That's what defines a human being. In the past people used to marry their relatives- many positive traits have been inherited. In the past people used to marry their relatives; there was a term defining it: Divine Marriage

Nowadays, the world( also Asia and Africa) is dominated by some Christian( culture) values. Christianity's history is a big one, I don't want to talk about here. The thing is, culture determines us. Read previous posts, people see such couples as "sick". But, ask people from different periods of time. Many, if not most of them would say: It's fine, it's pure, it's this and that, bla bla bla.

Today's society is based on christian morality and values- yes, even Asia got it's piece of a "Big Jesus Cake". Most people will condemn such couples. There's no way your friends could

have a normal life( sibling-couples).

 

My personal thoughts based on my values and morality.

I think it's NOT abnormal; you can find it in the Animal Kingdom. However, it is risky, thus dangerous for an incest child's life-, but... since I am liberal, I'd never call it "Evil".

It's just, today's society won't accept it. We do not plan marriages, we do not visit a doctor before marrying our beloved one- at least, not yet!

 

It's risky to marry a close relative(sibling)! However, in some countries you can marry your cousins!

 

Leave the "Love and Pheromones" part out for a second, think about the Human Machina.

Your friends should not fool themselves! Everything is about genetics! You want your child to be healthy. If you really love him/her, visit a doctor, make some tests- but keep in mind that gen-tests are very expensive. We also do not have proper info about genes, our science is still a "Teenager".

In my opinion it's o.k to be close to your cousin/brother/sister- people will get used to it- just be sure to know that you're taking a high risk! Think about your children. There's this mechanism every mother has- "feel it". You won't know for sure, if you and your honey are both genetically healthy. You can love each other, just think before getting a child!

 

Now, let's talk about Life/happiness and Joy.

In many countries cousin-marriages are fine, you can have a normal life, your kid can have a normal life. But, speaking about siblings- you are doomed almost everywhere, doesn't matter where you go, you'll be doomed. Your children will be doomed. You'll live a Game of Hide and Play.

 

This is based on my personal feelings. Be aware that I KNOW such couples, am a mostly open minded and liberal person with some knowledge 'bout this and that, so I am aware of changes and other thingies within our society. One thing is sure, sibling-couples will have a difficult life, unless they keep it a secret. If they are cousins- WHO CARES? In the country i currently reside in, you are allowed to marry your cousin.

P.S: Some might wonder, why I did not speak about the Wonderful Power of Jesus, the Wonderful Power of Allah the Almighty and the Wonderful Power of Praying to His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. - This is a serious topic, a topic which needs facts. If she and her friends needed "professional religious help", they would have contacted their Religious Advisers. Gush, we're in the 21. Century. Such topics demand Science- then God, if you believe in such a "being". God won't save their children from diseases, while medicine can prevent such things from happen.

 

 

Fact is we are Bio-machines, which have the ability to trust in dogmas, believe in Love and God- but, we shouldn't let any /existing/ being control our Understanding. Don't just think "Love", think "Software".

If it's close blood relatives (siblings, parentxchild) I don't like it. And I can't really understand that. I don't even like it if it's in a story (well I have a few exceptions but the circumstances made it okay i my eyes). If it's like a distant cousin then that's meh okay for me. But everything depends on the circumstances. I recently read an article that a married couple that both had lesbian parents found out that they are half-siblings. So both of their moms got the same man's sperm for their children. And they only found out after they had 3 children and well they lived together a long time and everything was fine until then so it's understandable for me..

In real life, incest is not something many of us look at favorably, reason being you grow up with those people and you can't help but see them as brothers and sisters. There is also the moral side of it, you both share the same blood, and is not seen right by society, which puts pressure on the two lovers I guess. And finally, there is the medical side of it, many people dont want to bring a child to the world that is bound to have physical and emotional problems. I think everything depends on what "brainwashing" ideas have been put into you since you were a kid. There is always human conscience in each individual, if you have grown up listening to "siblings should not fall in love with each other" then most likely that's the kind of idea you will value, not matter how open minded you might be. Then again, in my opinion, there are reasons why taboos exist, although in modern society we break them all the time, it doesn't diminish their value. Taboos are there to "inform" us of what "could happen" if you do something, it all depends on whether or not you are willing to risk it. I am not in favor of real life incest, but I dont judge people who are indulge in this kind of relationship, neither do I consider them less moral than others.

 

On the other hand, incest in Yaoi is hot. I am not afraid to say I dont feel disgust by incest in yaoi, and I find it very smexy, but that's because I dont see it as reality like many other themes in yaoi. Some of my roleplays before have incest in them, and I find it quiet romantic because is forbidden. It all depends how you look at it.

I have to point out, that as unfavourable as society deems it, and as taboo as it is, it's a lot more common than what people think it is.

 

When you have siblings close in age (or not sometimes) they often use each other to experiment with, after all, who could you trust more?

If we talk about stepsibling love there is nothing biologically wrong with(though people tend to consider this incest too). However,culturally stepsibling interactions are not acceptable . Personally, I don't think stepsibling love is something wrong because there isn't any blood bond.

Blood-related incest is still a taboo. Most modern societies have laws regarding incest. In some past societies combinations between members of the family were practiced among royalty as a means of perpetuating the royal lineage. On the other hand, children whose biological parents have a close genetic relationship have a greatly increased risk of congenital disorders.

I don't have an opinion about (blood-related)incest,but I would never do that.

when i was loving abroad.. in a certain place (omits place name on purpose) .. it's legal to marry your first cousin. Very rare, but it's allowed.

 

Speaking for myself.. it's utterly impossible for me to develop eros kind of love to any member of my family. Be it stepsiblings, parents, aunt, uncle.. name it.. it would never happen. However, i don't think i would mind if someone i know whose blood relation .. say - from second degree cousins ; started dating. It's another case when it's close relation. Brothers, parents.. etc. And, i would definitely voice my disgust if it's parents to child relationship. Odepius and Electra complex is a no go... clearly no..
