Aiko watched as the West clan came on. It seemed for a second as if the East wasn't going to do anything and then Aiko raised his hand, signaling the Kotodama to bring up their shields. The shields would slow down the West. They were temporary because they drained on the Kotodama's energy, but they allowed Aiko's men to get into their defensive stance.

Gin and the mounted calvary where the first to reach the guarding enemy forces when a sudden force pushed them back, making their horses to whine in discomfort. Some of the men shivered in fear of the unknown. They noticed the opposing troops weren’t moving, there was nothing there yet they couldn’t move forward; it was like an invisible wall holding them back unable to move onwards.

“What is this!” One soldier yelled angrily yet hints of fear could be heard in his voice. Souji moved closer to Gin. “It seems the East clan has someone with the ability to create a protective barrier.” Souji said feeling like they’ve been defeated before the battle even started.

Gin glared straight into Aiko’s eyes and grinned, it wasn’t a kind one. His eyes held anger and the smile disappointment. Anger directed to Aiko for his betrayal and disappointment for his greediness. “Hideo!” He called for his cousin who moved forward on his command and he then addressed Souji. “Can you pin-point the source of this energy? If you can then we’ll let Hideo hammer it until it breaks.” He deduced that since they were using their special abilities, who ever was creating this protective barrier, was using his spiritual power. If Souji could find out the source then Hideo could use his hammer and together with his inhuman strength put pressure on it. Eventually it will make the one creating the barrier weaker and eventually braking it.

Souji concentrated, sweat slowly sliding down his neck. There it was! He looked at Hideo and shouted. “Hideo use your hammer and hit it against the east side of their formation.” Hideo didn’t understand why he had to do this since he couldn't see anything. Nonetheless, he followed his orders.

Gin smiled knowing that Aiko’s first plan was crumbling.

Aiko noticed the look in his direction from Gin. He kept all emotion off of his own face despite the ones that were running rampant through him. The look from Gin had tore at him and it hurt to see something like that directed at him. He gave a slightly playful wink back, though, before directing his attention elsewhere.

"Ryuu, have them break down the shield once our first people start moving," Aiko said to his friend, who nodded to show he understood.

Aiko reached back to pull off his naginata, the sun flashing off of the blade at the end of long shaft. As he did so, the portions of his troops designated to attack rushed forward, recognizing the signal. He let himself sink back into the troops, goading his horse on as the Kotodama released the shield in order for Aiko's forces to get through. He never wore an outfit detailing his rank whenever in battle. He preferred to be hidden among the troops, to work in tandem with them. They all knew him on site, there was no reason to make himself stand out more.

Gin grunted softly averting his eyes from Aiko’s playful wink and ignored his stupid heart; which was beating ridiculously fast. No matter how much disappointed or anger he was feeling towards Aiko there was no way he would stop loving him. He never thought that he would be type of man to fall so deeply in love with another being. “Gin!” Gin looked up at his friend, grateful to be pulled back to reality; this was not the time nor the place to be thinking about his love problems. He needed to focus!

“The ones creating the barrier are pulling back and a portion of the men standing on guard are moving forwards...They are going to attack!” He announced and Gin turned to his men. “Prepare for battle!” They all stood their ground ready to give their lives in battle. As soon as the invisible wall was no longer there they marched forwards, weapon in their hands, to meet the enemy.

“Yeah! Come at me!” Hideo shouted excitedly as he pushed the opposing soldiers as if they were weightless dolls. The man was too strong to be held down.

Gin pushed forward attacking every enemy that stood in his way, his goal was to reach the palace and get a hold on the North family's seal. He didn’t had any useful ability like Hideo or Souji, but Gin had the spirit and soul of a warrior and his sole determination was enough fuel to push him forward; completely ignoring the sharp pain he was feeling on his side as his wound re-opened.

Aiko's men slammed hard into the enemy. Soon the air was filled with the sound of metal on metal, shouts of pain and fighting. Aiko was one of the few that was silent except for soft grunts as he swung the naginata around. His body moved easily with that of the horse, using the horse's momentum to cause more damage with his weapon. His blows were calculated to kill instantly, not wanting to leave anyone suffering.

He'd veer away from Gin whenever it seemed he was getting too close, but a portion of him kept an eye on the man. He wasn't going to allow anyone to take the man's life. It was war, but Gin was also the man that he loved and he wasn't going to lose him.

He tried to keep his thoughts focused on the fight, but a portion was on hoping that the troops left to guard the entrances to the North would be able to hold.

Their numbers were drastically dropping, still, they pushed forward like the glorious warriors they were. They where out numbered but they managed to break Aiko’s defenses and were now at the gates of the Northern palace, which were heavily guarded by more troops. Ignoring his exhaustion and pain from his bleeding wound Gin urged his horse forward cutting the opposing enemies with his sword and making way for Hideo.

There was blood all over Hideo's body but it wasn't his. Knowing exactly what he was supposed to do, he marched forward and With blood on his body that was not his Hideo marched on wards knowing very well what he had to do, using his inhuman strength he pushed the heavy gates. Opposing soldiers tried to attack him but Gin was right there to defend him. Hideo shouted a ferocious cry as he pushed the heavy doors, the veins at his forehead threating to burst from the amount of pressure.

It took away most of his spiritual energy, but at last Hideo manage to brake the heavy gates. Gin had no time to waste and pushed his horse inside the palace courtyard. He was going to make sure that the lost lives of his fallen men were not meaningless.

He practically jumped off his horse wincing as his side cried in pain. Nevertheless, he ran into the palace tightly holding his sword, which was dripping blood from the enemy, in his hand. He ran towards the main hall where he found the North clan family crouched together in fear for their lives. Panting, Gin stepped in. “Please don’t kills us! Spare us!” The wife of the ex North clan leader pleaded as she hugged her small daughter in fear.

“Fear not, I don’t plan on taking your lives - only your power.” He said and walked straight to the throne-like seat that was in the middle of the hall and grabbed a scroll that was hanging on the top of it. Finally he had the Northern city seal in his hands. At last, this battle was over!

Aiko had watched the West struggle through his troops, had watched as they broke through. He had struggled to get back that way, but found his way constantly barred. His eyes widened and the tip of his weapon dropped towards the floor as he saw Gin take the scroll. It seemed as if time had stopped for a moment. They had lost the north, had failed in their treaty with them.

He blocked several of the more eager of his troops, those with arrows who wanted to aim the weapons at Gin's direction. "No, don't kill him," he said, ignoring the sounds of protests. "Let him have the north. He'll take care of them," he added, having heard Gin's words. He watched Gin for a minute and he nodded slightly with a smile as he caught Gin's eye before he turned on his heel to leave the palace and back out onto the streets. He kept up his appearance even when coated in blood that was his and that was of those he had fought.

He pulled back his wounded troops and left the able-bodied ones to help clean up the mess as he himself went to find the leaders who had ridden with him.

After all weapons where dropped and Gin claimed the North as his, he went outside to see the end results of the battle. It was devastating. A great portion of his men were dead and those who were still alive where heavily wounded or on the verge of dying. Gin closed his eyes as he bended his head mentally praying for those who lost their lives and thanking them. "Gin!" Hideo who only suffered a few minor cuts here and there came rushing to his cousin. "We did it!" He said hugging Gin tightly causing Gin to cry in pain, he had ignored his wound for far too long.

"Careful...I'm glad you are safe Hideo. We need to take care of the wounded soldiers." He said and both of them walked into their campfire. He went into each tent to thank every single men who fought for him and his heart sinked to the bottom of his stomach when he entered Souji's tent.

Souji was sitting on a futon as he held a cup of hot tea in his hands. "Souji..." Gin whispered his heart breaking at the sight of his best friend's bandaged eyes. Apparently he was greatly wounded during the battle; a wound that cost him his sight. To his surprise Souji smiled. "Why are you sad Gin-chan? I might have lost my eyes but that doesn't mean I am blind." He said placing the cup away; that was true. Thanks to his special ability he was able to feel everything around him or really far away. Still it pained Gin to see Souji like that "Congratulations on your winning. Now could you please tell me why you were so obsessed on getting the North territory?" Souji asked.

Gin smiled, unfortunately his friend couldn't see it. "I plan to change our whole political system." This caught Souji's attention. "I want to unify the four clans and make it one country where neither of the families is to rule. It will be a government of the people elected by the people that will work for the people's own well being." He said and Souji smiled.

"I see, of course this does not surprise me, it is so like you." He said before frowning. "But why didn't you say this from the start? And how will you get the other two clans to accept?" He asked.

"I don't think the South will be a problem, but the East is another story. That's why I plan to go to Aiko and propose this idea to him." Gin said standing up. He was wearing a clean and plain kimono. "I doubt our men would have fought if I was to reveal my plans, not only that, I needed power to put pressure if anyone decided to oppose this plan." He explained.

"You and the rest of the men will return to the West tonight, I'll follow after I speak with Aiko." He said before exiting Souji's tent. He then mounted his horse and rode to the East to meet with Aiko.

Aiko had gotten his men packed up and had them left fairly soon after the battle had ended. He was at the end of the tattered line of men that was strung out over miles. He had taken this position because it allowed him to help any stragglers, and it allowed him to be mostly alone so he could keep his thoughts. He was uncertain of what Gin was going to do now, nor was he certain of what was going to happen to the other clans.

________

Aiko looked up from his glass of tea at the knock of the door. "Enter," he said and he watched a servant come in, looking flustered.

"Gin, of the West, is here for a meeting," the servant said with a bow.

Aiko frowned at that. "Let him in," he said, wondering what Gin could want now that battle was done. His heart started to race at the thought of seeing the man, though, at being so close to him after so much had already happened. He surveyed Gin as the man was led in and waited for him to talk.

Gin thanked the young servant before walking into the room and waited for the door to be closed before speaking. He could feel a weird atmosphere in the air. He wondered what Aiko's reaction would be to his proposal. But whether he accepts or refuses didn't matter; Gin will go on with his plan and is willing to use force if necessary.

"I'm glad to see you are safe and unharmed." He said with a small smile, really meaning his words. It would have destroyed him if Aiko would have lost his life in the battle.

"You are probably wondering why I'm here." He said suddenly having a feeling of dejavu. "I have a proposal for you and I wish for you to accept it."

Aiko smiled softly back, finding it a little funny that the tables had turned. "And what's that?" he asked, fingers absently turning his glass around on the table, truly curious about the proposal. He hadn't been expecting that in the least. This meant Gin had had a rather large plan to begin with.

Gin chuckled noticing that Aiko was feeling the same thing, yet he pushed those playful thoughts away and got serious. "I wish for you to step down from your position." He said dead serious and raised his hand to stop Aiko from jumping into conclusions drastically. "Let me finish, please." He paused. "Times have changed, yet we live as if we were still trapped in time. We are enemies yet we don't know why." He said and paused again before continuing. "I plan to unify the four territories into one and therefore I need you to step down. I know it's hard to believe but if you agree there will be no more future wars." He went on.

"Afterwards I'll make decree to change the political system of this land, none of the family will have power to rule. The people will elect it's representative and they will govern for the people's well being." He finished. "What do you think?" He asked and searched for an answer in Aiko's eyes.

Aiko listened to Gin talk, tapping his finger lightly on the rim of his glass. He weighed the options silently, but it didn't take him long to reach a conclusion. A democracy seemed the best way to go, and it would help prevent wars from happening. It would also end this feud that the West and East seemed to have.

"Fine," he said after a minute, meeting Gin's gaze. "However, if the South refuses your proposal then I want you to not send my troops out to the battle. If you do, I will revoke my promise to step down and I will remove the East out from under your control."

His tone was even and gentle, but it was a promise. He had no plans on sending his people back out to war for any cause. He had already lost someone very dear to him and he wasn't losing anyone else.

Gin's smile only grew; happy that Aiko agreed to his idea. "Do not worry, the South will not resist. In fact, I believe they'll agree with my proposal right away." He said and walked closer to Aiko before lightly brushing his fingers in Aiko's long hair. "Is everything okay with you?" He asked a hint of concern in his voice.

Aiko shut his eyes at the touch and he slipped a hand over Gin's to softly squeeze before turning his head to softly kiss Gin's palm before he looked up at Gin. "I just lost a friend," he said softly, squeezing Gin's hand lightly. "But it'll be all right. Always is."

Gin's eyes softened as he stared down at the man he loved, he could see the pain he was feeling in his eyes. He was feeling down because of Souji losing his sight, but at least he was still alive. "I'm so sorry." He said bending down to be on eye level with Aiko. "This war should have never happened, we lost too much thanks to it." He said and leaned his forehead against Aiko's. "I promise you, there will be no more wars from now on."

Aiko smiled softly at the words and he playfully eskimo kissed Gin, unable to help himself despite the situation. "Good," he said with another smile, slipping his fingers through Gin's hair before pulling the man close to him over the table and kissing him deeply. He had wanted to do that for days...he had wanted to be close to the man again.

Gin did not plan to get so passionated with Aiko, but oh how he had longed for Aiko's sweet lips. To taste the sweet juice of his mouth intertwined with his. The deeper they kissed the less he could restrain himself from pushing Aiko on the table. He hoped that no one dared to enter the room because he was going to take Aiko right there and no one was going to stop him.

He moved his lips from Aiko's mouth to the man's neck; kissing and sucking it hard enough to leave a mark. He then ran his hands up and down, sensually caressing Aiko's side to stir him up.

Aiko inhaled softly at the kisses and touches, shivering at the feelings slipping through him. His fingers quickly moved down along Gin's body, stroking and caressing him as he started to loosen the man's clothes. He leaned forward and pulled Gin into a deep, biting kiss as he's fingers slid down past Gin's hips to softly grip the man's member through the clothing, fingers stroking and squeezing.

"Ah...Aiko..." Aiko's touches caused Gin to feel electrifying sensations all over his body. For some reason Aiko knew where and how to touch him; as if they were soul mates. He closed his eyes, letting himself be enveloped by the euphoric sensation Aiko was making him feel. It was too much and he didn't care about holding himself and shamelessly came in Aiko's hand; yet he was still fully erected. That showed how much his hunger for Aiko was.

He gently turned Aiko around, his back towards him and quickly pulled Aiko's pants down; revealing Aiko's erected staff. He leaned forward as he wrapped his long fingers over Aiko's member and sensually whispered into Aiko's ear. "Do you want me?"

Aiko made a soft sound of surprise at being turned around, but his fingers slid to the edge of the table. He shivered at the feeling of Gin's hand on himself and his fingers tightened. "Nn...yes..." he gasped softly, turning his head a little to kiss Gin softly, one hand reaching back to slip through Gin's hair.

Need and want coursed through him and his body reacted to just the soft touches on his member. It had been far too long since he had last been with Gin in any fashion. It had been too long since he had been with the man he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Gin lovingly squeezed and stroked Aiko's penis up and down, occasionally putting some pressure on its leaking head. He kissed Aiko's mouth hard, licking his bottom lip before biting Aiko's ear lightly. He wanted to eat him and swallow him whole. Gin could no longer wait; he needed to feel his insides. Yet he wanted to tease Aiko a little bit more. "And where do you want me?" He asked as he lightly brushed his erected member over Aiko's entrance.

Aiko let out a low, soft growl of frustration and want and he nipped Gin's lower lip lightly before kissing the man deeply. "Inside," he whispered, breath soft and breathy from the feelings slipping through him. "F*ck me," he whispered, shivering at the touches, body moving back towards Gin's. "Please."

"Your wish is my command." Gin said with a chuckled yet feeling quite by Aiko's naughtiness, he didn't expect him to have it in him and he loved it. Releasing Aiko's leaking member, Gin place his hands on each side of Aiko's hips to keep him steady before he pushed in. "Ah...Aiko..so good." He said between soft moans. Aiko's tight walls around his throbbing member felt so good, that Gin thought it was heaven on earth.

He wrapped his fingers ones again around Aiko's member as he thrusted his hips in and out; his hand matching his pace.

Aiko's back arched a little bit and he moaned softly at the feeling of Gin entering him. His fingers tightened hard on the edge of the desk as pleasure slipped through him. His hips pressed back as much as they could towards Gin. The feeling of the man's thrusts and weight on his back increased the ecstasy that was running through him. He couldn't keep back the cries of pleasure that slipped from.

His body responded to Gin's touches and thrusts, responded to the sounds that the other man made. "Nnn...G-Gin," he gasped, warmth spreading through his body. He bit his lower lip, eyes squeezed shut as the pleasure mounted and he couldn't hold back after such rough play, after such touches, after the length of time...He came hard into Gin's hand, onto the desk, pleasure slicing through him.
