by Girugamesh and it got be wondering if anyone else has heard of this band. I was introduced to them by a friend and I utterly love their music, the slow and the fast. It's hard to find people who know about the band let alone those who like them, at least in my part of my world.

 

So, anyone else like them? What's your favorite song?

 

My favorite is definitely "Kowarete iku sekai". The emotion in the words and the singing is breathtaking and the video is beautiful....I love everything about it.

"Owari to Mirai" is a pretty awesome song. I haven't heard much by them that I don't like, though, lol.

Ah. Giru was the first band I ever saw live. ^^ Also one of my first j-rock bands.

 

My fav songs are Kowarete iku Sekai, Crying Rain and Break Down.

 

I am not a huge fan, but I respect them a lot.

 

Also, I was wondering where their name came from. I never really thought about it till I saw a restaurant called 'Gilgamesh' and I figured Girugamesh is the Japanese pronunciation of that? (Don't even know what Gilgamesh means lol)

From what I could find the name is derived from "Gilgamesh". When I first heard of the band I had to find out because I love the history of Gilgamesh. I think it's really neat that they did that.

Girugamesh is so cool... or was.. I don't like their new album :/

But I adore their old songs from "13th Reborn" or "Girugamesh". My favorite songs are "Mouja No Koushin", "Shadan" and "shiroi sokuseki" I think

I heard they're publishing a new single in June or July?

. I think you'd enjoy the read. It's just really interesting and gives a great insight into the Sumerian world. You can also notice similarities between it and the Christian Holy Bible.

As for the album with that song in,it's called ''Girugämesh'' ,released 2007. All lyrics written by Satoshi,the vocal.

sorry 'bout that.

just can't help it since it's awesome to see girugamesh here and some fans here in YO.

 

they are the first jrock band i've supported this much.

i mean, since i'm a picky bastard, i've listened to a variety of jrock bands and none seems to leave an impression on me but girugamesh.

 

the first song i heard from them is STFU. it didn't leave an impression on me and i hated it actually. LOL

i felt the song was so arrogant. but then...Crying Rain made me decide that this band is awesome.

i tried to listen STFU again and i changed my mind.

 

what's more, Satoshi's Laugh vid was the first reason that gave me an impression that they are a fun band along with the other funny vids of them. XD

 

of course i love all of their songs as Satoshi is an awesome lyricist/vocalist and Ryo is the gifted composer.

don't forget Shuu the leader, the Onii-chan of the group ;

and Nii the unpredictable guitarist-who-doesn't-like-to-do-solo-guitar-riffs that likes to wear a horse head.

 

but i still do have some faves from them since i thought of those faves as perfection.

Crying Rain, Freesia, Kyo (Hollow), Rei (Zero), Jarring Fly, Volcano, Kowarete Iku Sekai,

Domino, Gokusou, Reality, stupid, Shizumu Kako, Aimai na Mikaku, Ame to Fukusha,

Fukai no Yami, Inochi no Ki, I think I can fly, Nobody, Mouja no Koushin, Shiro Ashiato and Shining.

 

their latest singles Zecchou BANG!! and Zantetsuken didn't leave an impression on me tho.

its not that i hate it nor like it.

well atleast they are happy. that's all that matters to me.

 

i'm still looking forward for the their future releases.

 

PS: girugamesh are bunch of otaku. the more reason to love them.
