So I was reading all the pages on this thread and I couldn't stop cracking up. Guys, YOU ARE THE BEST EVER!!

Okay, I made some notes while watching the movie. OMG! WHAT A MOVIE INDEED! :cuteonion58:

You know when I saw the trailer and some info about it and everything was about Baba-chan in drag and I'm like...okay, I love Baba-chan..I adore that hunk of manly cheekbones but IS THAT ALL THERE IS? THERE HAS GOT TO BE SOMETHING ELSE to look forward to in this movie. The title is catchy enough already to grab my attention but where is MORE???

I must warn you all, this is a REALLY LONG REVIEW! yoyo6

As soon as I started watching I was a bag of nervous anticipation. Was this gonna be like Iron Ladies only in cheerleader format? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT! :cuteonion55: Despite the fact that I've watched several movie clips, promotional vids, pictures, MissBaba littered across the internetz...still...I was freaking nervous.

Guys, I am writing off the bat here so you will have to forgive me if I am missing out on some names. I haven't quite memorized the actors' names yet so I'm just gonna refer to their character names....well EXCEPT Baba-chan. hehe!

You know this Masami guy..wow. What an entrance. Temper! Temper! Temper! I mean I've watched movies like these where a character has a temper but usually it's so forced that it makes me snicker and throw my socks to them. But THIS guy...WOW. He got me nervous. It was like...HOLY CRAP...HE'S MAD. I winced when he threw the ball at the guy like that. OWWW!!! :9onion70: But the first few minutes of the film since he showed up. I knew it. This guy is INCREDIBLY GOOD. He's a very strong actor. He really REALLY was convincing. I mean I don't usually like temperamental guys in real life but to act temperamental onscreen is taking it into an art form. MASAMI IS AMAZING! I'm tempted to watch him in another film go crazy and homicidal.

The camera was so jerky at the basketball scene. gyaaaaah! I felt dizzy. I was like ENOUGH WITH JERKING AROUND WITH THE CAMERA..COME ON!!! This is a movie not a home video!

Now I know some of you will do this onion9 and this onion8 and maybe also this :cuteonion43: when I say that I wasn't really convinced with Kaneko's performance. I mean he was nice and all but the delivery of his lines felt forced. He did shine at the end when he landed that beautiful punch. I mean even when he was being bullied by those overgrown high school uncles at lunch time...I still wasn't convinced. He did say cute lines to get Masami all flustered like the umbrella scene. LOL. cute.

When the other guys were introduced...Miki and Sakurai were introduced. I wasn't really sure who they were gonna be. I was like...wait....am I watching the right movie? Because when they were in their dark long uniforms...they looked so gravely intimidating. I didn't know if they were gonna beat up Masami or do something really serious damage. I really felt Masami's fear of the unknown.

But when they finally transformed into their cheerleading outfits..OH OKAY!! I AM WATCHING THE RIGHT FILM! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!! Masami's horrified expression got me laughing so hard. I would feel the same way too when they handed out the pink outfit to him. HAHHAHAHA!!!

And then Baba-chan's entrance. rabbit1 I love the rock music being played on the background. HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! WHAT AN ENTRANCE! :cuteonion57:

I like the fact that watching Baba-chan here is so different from Misu. I mean duh yeah he plays a third year high schooler but demmit man...it's so different. He looks so playful here. I love it!

Please understand that this is the first film I have ever watched Baba-chan play another role. so this is EXTREMELY REFRESHING FOR ME! He was totally a different character. I thought that he would be the girliest of the group or something..but no. He was the 'natural beauty'. His whole attitude towards the drag cheerleading team was nonchalant and I'll do what I want when I want to do it and there's nothing you can do or say can make me do otherwise. LOVE IT!

And Baba-chan just let himself go as Ojo. There wasn't anything awkward about him at all. This is a guy who is having fun. He can dress anything he wants and nail it.

Love the confrontation scene with the oppossing cheerleading team. for awhile there..I thought...IS THAT?? IS THAT WHO I THINK HE IS??

OH DEAR LORD! IS THAT DAISUKE WATANABE IN DRAG TOO???? :1onion52:

I didn't recognize him until the camera went REALLY CLOSE and I was oh it's ANOTHER ACTOR! Gosh, he's so bitchy. LOVE IT! I was laughing my ass off at his backup girls because they looked like they were bullied into wearing drag. They're not even trying! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!! *dies* :msn_red_fox 2

my favorite line in this scene was: SHUT UP! STUPID COPYCAT!!!

That was super classy! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!! I am so gonna use this line in the future. :5yoyo34:

The guys who really stood out for me here are Masami, Baba-chan, Miki and Sakurai. I'm usually uneasy when I watch movies with guys who play drag because somehow it can go the wrong way meaning they tend to overact but I must say that they did so well....ESPECIALLY MIKI.

He and Sakurai were the most loyal to the club. You can feel how much they try so hard and how devoted they are to the club. They have great chemistry too. They're like brothers and sisters at the same time. But when Miki transformed Mikity...only one Japanese celebrity came to mind.

I feel kinda bummed that he wasn't chosen in the drag contest. I rem the actor from Baba-chan and Shota's magazine shoots. They're good friends, ne? They're like the golden trio or something.

And when that Monro guy did the makeup inspection...HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! He pointed out that long eyelashes do not make you instantly pretty...Mikity you!!! *giggles* Kaneko was UNEVEN MAKEUP! and my favorite...Masami...YOU ARE NOT EVEN TRYING! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!

I didn't feel his contribution at all. A lot of the stuff he made them do didn't really help. GYAAAAAH!!! When Mikity was idolizing the photo album of a young Monro...I thought oh wow...he probably is the most amazing life-changing guy ever. But when Masami put two and two together....it all went...PFFFFFFTTTTTTTT......:cuteonion37:

I love the scene where Masami's girlfriend finds out the bride photo and gives Masami a FLYING KICK!! YOU GO GIRL!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! Yeah, that's TOTALLY his girlfriend alright. Damn, she looked so cute wearing his uniform too at the end scene. :3onion15:

Baba-chan's moves is akin to a little boy in a dress which is really endearing actually. There's nothing girly about him at all. He's totally having fun. When he did that robot doll dance routine...I was imitating him. Oh yeah, I could do that. But to be quite honest, I prefer him more in wearing the pink cheerleader outfit than the gothic lolita dress.

Baba-chan, you have such manly, manly cheekbones.

He didn't put much makeup though..anyone noticed that at the closeups? His features were softer in cheerleader mode.

But his opponent the exchange student Chris...OMG...now he was pretty and so skinny too. He's like a snake in drag. He looked so long and bendy. But his moves made me feel kinda awkward 'cause he looked like he was trying a little too hard but pretty wise yeah...he had an edge over Baba-chan which makes me think did they intentionally downplay Baba-chan's makeup so he would lose? hmmmmmmmmmmm....speculate..speculate...LOL :cuteonion45:

Someone better make a motivational poster out of this and stick it to the wall.

For me, face-wise he was actually the prettiest of them all. As a girl, just by his face alone, he has CUTIEST GIRLFRIEND all over him. Despite his bigness, he was so pretty! His features easily softened with the makeup on. I wanna give him a big hug and a kiss. So pretty. Some people may say that he looked awkward onstage with his dance routine...I ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION THE WHOLE TIME. LOL :cuteonion46:

I couldn't pull myself away. There was something so endearing about him. So brave, sweetheart! So brave! :cuteonion58::cuteonion41:

And then Masami's turn came...awwwww~~~ :cuteonion57: I like the fact that his getup was so impromptu. Damn stupid copycat for ruining the wedding dress! But Masami's schoolgirl look was the most meaningful of all. He didn't get up there to compete or beat the idol alien supergirl Kanata Miyama. To me Masami represented the average girl. It was a very sincere performance. He was the one the girls could relate to the most. He wasn't the popular chick or the A-lister...Masamin represented the girl in all of us. He represented everyone. With all the insecurities, worries but he goes onstage and does his best anyway and sends out the message, YES YOU CAN. That was amazing.

OMG! I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS FILM. WHERE IS PART TWO??? WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! :Red_fox7::Red_fox4:

It has that similar appeal to me as Waterboys but this time it's cheerleaders.

I love how radical the theme is. I love the storyline. I love the pacing. It was so focused all the way. Very endearing cast (JUST KICK OUT THAT MONRO GUY! UGH)

They are not girly. They dress in drag for a purpose. It's very goal-oriented really. They totally behave like absolute dudes, it's so refreshing to watch. This isn't a movie about boys trying to become girls even if they look like it. It's really about coming together as a team to achieve a unified goal. Each one represented a personal struggle and together they succeeded. It was so touching.

I know it was creepy. I wanted to play TaTu's song "Robot" while he was doing that. I'm not a big fan of the gothic lolita outfit. the color was a drabby red. And Jo looked so damn tall in them. :cuteonion51: Although I am still suspecting the makeup was not enough. Jo must have put on that nonchalant attitude again. It's like he was so complacent about the whole thing. And it showed that's why he didn't win. that's why I'm so glad when he admitted that he realized his mistake in judgment.

But since I suck at dancing...those moves Jo made is super easy for me to do. LOL

He understands the balance of acting. Give him a leading role or a supporting role, we can all trust Baba-chan to deliver a great performance.

Now I know some of you will do this and this and maybe also this when I say that I wasn't really convinced with Kaneko's performance. I mean he was nice and all but the delivery of his lines felt forced. He did shine at the end when he landed that beautiful punch. I mean even when he was being bullied by those overgrown high school uncles at lunch time...I still wasn't convinced. He did say cute lines to get Masami all flustered like the umbrella scene. LOL. cute.

Really? Poor thing being bullied! Yeah I totally agree I wished he was more natural. I mean I get it that he was supposed to portray that of a character who is an insecure person but I needed to feel more of that "insecurity" onscreen.

I totally love the character of Kaneko and especially SUZUKI ♥♥ but I agree, his character

needed to be more thorough and also the relationship between him and his father, since

Oh i love what you said right there...WORDS and not through FACTS. that's what was lacking in the whole enchilada. if Suzuki ONLY had that added oomph then I was totally sold hook, line and sinker for him. But his chemistry with Masami was AMAZING. So that was truly a saving factor.

It reminded me from that scene where Daisuke slumped on the door in Takumi-kun 5 when Hayama got mad at him. The strain on his face. Same thing when Daisuke was running around in Bibou. That stressed face reminded me of Daisuke..so I really thought Daisuke was playing a cameo role here in drag.

He said thank you for the gifts and all the letters he got... he said he'll treasure all these 'gifts'. but then stated to them they spelled his name wrong, wrong Kanji. Thank you, Sloan for sharing Yuuki's blog.

I actually like reading long blogs.

I get a bit anxious when I read super short blogs and they only look like FB status updates (before they allowed the unlimited character count)

Well, I'm not particularly surprised that he would pimp events and stuff, he is a celeb and that's probably part of his contract to do so.

Heck, I'd do the same myself, only I would random a lot about other things too.

This is the first time I am checking it out and have to do so in a translated site if I can.

I didn't care much for him other than noticing him in the pictures with Baba-chan and Shota.

If it wasn't for Miss Boys, I wouldn't have even bothered finding about him.

But I like the Mikity character. He really stood out for me. I like his fangirlyness because I can totally relate to that.

If I had been in Miss Boys, I might become a Mikity. I just know it.

I am not a natural beauty like Jo. I'm not as strong as Cherry. I'm not as temperamental as Masamin. I'm much too antisocial to be like Kaneko.

I don't care that much for the actor behind the character though.
