Character preferences?

Before i read the plot i usually look at the characters. One of the several things i look for in a manga is whether the couples wear glasses or not. I know it's weird but i prefer them without, but if the manga or anime has a good plot and great drawings then I'm okay with glasses seme.

I'm not a big fan of shotacon so i always make sure that the uke is a man rather than a boy.

So what's your character preferences?

LOOOL.. i usually look at the seme because i totally love it when they are good looking especially when their bodies are really HOT, and the way they stare at people,, so smexy... XD

sometimes i also love semes who tease their ukes,, XD...

above all in general i love yaoi that has comedy in their genre,, XD

If think the story sounds interesting I'll read a few pages and see if I like the art. Art and plot is important to me not just in yaoi but any manga.

I too am not particularly into shotacon, the only exception being Super Lovers, but the couple doesn't really start doing anything sexual until the youngest is 15, so not sure if it really counts.

If you like that kind of manga i totally recommend Kawaisa Amatte Nanika ga Hyakubai. It fits all my criteria, comedy, beautiful drawings and the sweet story with a touch of sadistic seme.

Hmm what attracts me first is the drawing style. If it's friendly in the eyes then i'll try to read it. Then there's the story plot, if it's a too dragging I usually drop that manga. I hate frail and girly ukes. It's always appealing to me if the uke (*though frail sometimes) knows how to talk back not just sulk or whatnot.

For Seme's...they have to be possessive. It's good having possessive seme's.

What I like at a manga character depends on the character type:

-if it's an uke I like him to be the badass type (like: Takaba from Viewfinder, or Souichi from Koisuru Boukun)

-if it's a seme I like him to be the cool type (like Mookyul from Totally Captivated or Asami from Koisuru Boukun)

Yeah, I definitly don't like shotacon, so I try to find one were they both look like they are adults, apart from that I don't really care, although I do like it when the older one is the uke :3

Usually I check the art and the plot first: I like something that looks 'pleasing' for the eye and with some actual story going on (although I don't mind the occasional PWP).

What I'd like to see the most is a couple with manly!seme/manly!uke, followed by confident!seme/sweet-but-with-balls-of-steel!uke.

I like manly!seme/frail!uke only if it's about my favorite couple (original characters), but not in other manga/anime.

I usually pay more attention to the Uke.

For some reason I mostly-only read yaoi with light hair uke, ( the uke hairs have to be, at least, the same or lighter than the seme's) onionn2

I also prefer the uke to be manly (I hate girly uke, if I want a girl I would've ecchi or something :

The art-style is also important, it's manga after all, but if the plot is worth-reading then I can ignore the art.

Same! Although I lean more toward the art. I'm kind of shallow in a way that if the art is not pleasing to look at, I usually wouldn't bother reading anymore. Which is why I miss out on a lot of good manga T_____T

A good story is important too, since it becomes a huge turn-off for me if the story isn't continuous or doesn't make a lot of sense. Or if the characters act illogically, I start abandoning the manga.

For types of seme and uke though, I generally don't mind most, as long as the seme isn't abusive or the uke isn't a complete sissy ^^

honestly - i look at the art most of the time. if it has good art, chances are i'll tend to read it even if the story is on the weaker side (like if the romance is too fast or something). as for character preferences... i don't really know, haha! i tend to like affectionate characters a lot more, especially if the affectionate one is the seme. yeah, i'm not really too keen on the bullying seme characters.

I only have one criterion for characters - they better not be too sassy unless it's on purpose (Love Stage). I..ugh...cringe... can't stand it when it's a girl in a boy's body, like feminine is fine, but I'm just not into girl drama when I'm in the mood for boyslove! XD
